What apps has everyone installed? - HTC Aria General

Being new to Android, I'm just wondering what everyone has installed on their Aria. ^_^

IMDb, xda, engadget, unit converter, flashlight, Facebook. I've installed plenty big others but those are the ones I use on a daily basis so far.
Sent from my HTC Aria

I have almost the same, Google Sky Map is a must have. The IMDB app is awesome!
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App

pandora, no-lock, pong time, dog whistle, shazam, the weather channel, xda, flashlight, google goggles, google skymap, shopper.

no-lock is great for just the optic push to wake-up

advanced task killer, astro file manager, audio manager, battery status pro, handcent sms, history eraser, pandora, palringo, shazaam, silent boot, spare parts, startup cleaner 2.0,tts extender, unistaller, louder volume hack, better keyboard.................lol..thats it

Abduction, Advanced Task Killer*, Android LightSaber, Bank of America, Basic Instructions, Blow Up, BreakTheBlock, Bump, doubleTwist, Engadget, fring, Google Goggles, GolfLogix, Google Sky Map, IMDb, Layar, Movies, Nesoid Lite, Pandora, Quadrant Standard, Quickoffice*, ScoreCenter, Shazam*, The Weather Channel, TV Listings*, xda*
Starred apps are highly recommended. I haven't actually tested doubleTwist (a music app that integrates with iTunes), so I can't comment on its usability.

Handcent, Swype, Shazam, Last.fm, Google Goggles, ShopSavvy, Locale
Locale's my favorite, saves me tons of battery. It'll adjust itself either by location or time. You can adjust the brightness, change ringtones and wallpapers. For me, I have one for my house, so when I get home, it automatically connects to my WiFi network, turns the brightness down to 20% and turns my ringer to full volume. Great for someone at work too. Although the app is at $9.99, it saves me lots of battery.

Currently, this is my list of installed:

Need to fine app for BB&T ... Any suggestion ?

Would love any game suggestions, I am rather disappointed by the lack of games on android, plenty of opportunity for profit.

I've installed Falling Ball and Labryinth Lite. They're not bad.

Definitely the best game I've come across is Bonsai Blast.

Post your AppBrain App List Links here to share

Hi,
It would be helpful if we share our AppBrain App List links here so we can what useful apps each of us are using. =D
Here is my link: villiankknd's Apps on the HTC Desire
For those who do not know what appbrain is:
1. Go to www.appbrain.com, login with your google account
2. Download and install the official appbrain app from your phone(search from the market)
3. Open the appbrain app on your phone and press "Manage my apps" then press "Sync with Appbrain"
4. You can now go to the appbrain website on your computer and start adding apps to the "Apps on the HTC Desire" list.....
5. There is a link beside your list and share it here(Make sure you make the list "Public" so we can see it)
6. That's it!
I would recommend we just post the links and some comments, just so it does not get too messy if you know what i mean.
Cheers! =D

There are a couple of my apps it's still not picking up like "Wallpaper of Life", http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.apan.wallpaperoflife/ a Great live wallpaper that I recommend if you want some colour and activity but with little battery loss.
This is great, thanks OP

Have updated mine.
I've set my yr.no clock/weather widget on the main screen to load different apps (kaloer Clock, HTC Weather and Yr.no Detailed Weather Forecast) when clicking the left, right and weather sections of the widget.
Notice that the HTC Weather app never shows my "current location" forecast when I'm in my hometown....seems a lot of people have this issue although manually searching the town and adding it as a preset works fine. Kind of defeats the objective of the "current location" though..... Best to just use the yr.no widget as it's way better and more detailed at forecasting as you can see
Dont forget to edit your posts here every now and then when you've added/removed apps

auto lock, lets you choose a time frame in which your Legend won't ask for the security pattern when unlocking...
Here's some of mine that I've used on my G1, Hero and now Legend:
AnyCut - Allows you to alter labels of Icons on the home screen.
Astrid Tasks - A little "To Do" list manager, handy to remember things.
ASTRO - File manager, easy enough right?
eBuddy - Stable and what I've found to be the best MSN client.
engadget - Although I live in the UK, I like the tech feeds from it.
FxCamera - Camera emulator/FX which I mainly use for its Fisheye mode.
Jewels - This is just an addictive, simple game.
MySettings - More of a widget to change most common settings easily at the touch of a button instead of racing into the settings menu everytime.
No Lock - An app to disable the lock screen, so you can unlock without having to hit the power button everytime. Only just got this so might not keep it
Robo Defense - Free or Full, this is addictive if you've ever heard of tower defense.
Shazam - Names music through sound tagging if you don't know the name!
Sky News - Handy for looking at news on the go.
Task Manager (Green Android Icon, holding red X) - I prefer this to all other Task programs, has a really nice neat widget and clear UI.
UK National Rail Train Departures - Downloadable only off the net from the National Rail site or somewhere, but so handy for checking train times etc.
WikiMobile - Wikipedia on the go, simples.
XDA - Duh?
p.s. This should be pinned either here on in the apps section of the forum possibly?

What are some good apps/widgets to download?

Seeking suggestions on some good widgets/apps. My interests are social networking, music, ..the norm.
Also, what do you guys think about the "Twitter for HTC Sense" widget vs. the "Touiteur"?
For music services try pandora or slacker. For players, poweramp, mixzing, or meridian. For song id shazam.
Some people like Foursquare.

Double twist is a good music player and tweetdeck is good for social networking
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
PowerAMP is the best for music players. Hands down. I bought the full version today - the trial is full-featured but expires after a while.
I use Peep (the HTC twitter widget) but I don't do any tweeting I just follow stuff and check up on it a few times a day. Definitely get Handcent; it's a great SMS replacement app that is really customizable. My favorite is getting it to split messages after 160 characters by word, so there's no word being cut off, and you dont get an annoying message from Verizon about how you can't send over 160 characters to carriers other than Verizon like you do with the stock app.
For web browsing, I'd pick up Dolphin HD. I like it better htan the stock one because I can exit out of it and end the process - for a while I was having problems with the stock browser getting my phone hot and using CPU while I wasn't using it.
Definitely get Appbrain. Then:
On Appbrain, you can install an app called Car Home released by Google. It replaces the (awful) stock "Car Panel." Add it to your phone from the web site and then install it from the application and open the Car Panel app and choose Car Home. It's much more customizable and it doesn't use GPS all the time whenever it's open.
Obviously, get Angry Birds.
Good Morning is an alarm app that I like. It starts playing music and then tells you the time, day, weather, and if you purchase it, your calendar appointments for the day. Get the free version and then upgrade if you want multiple alarms and the calendar appointments.
Hope this helps enjoy your phone.

Appbrain. It used to be more useful than it is now, but it still lets you browse apps on your computer and add them to a list that you cam install from your phone in the app.

Sent from my Droid Incredible running Myn's Warm Two Point Two RLS4.
adw.launcher and adwnotify - I like adw better and adwnotify gives me the unread count wherever the icon is.
handcent sms for texts - top notch app
angry birds for waiting in lines
Astro file manager
dropbox (easiest way ever to get things to your phone)
autostarts - this lets me control what starts on startup, so i can do things like make the random games that i play once a week not start up every time i boot the phone.
barcode scanner
dolphin browser - yay tabs!
Touchdown/exchange for my work email (yes, i know they can remote wipe it if they want....since i wipe the whole thing myself every couple of weeks to play with a new rom, that hardly matters.)
appbrain
lookout mobile security or threat aware (trying this one out)
mahjong
pandora
robo defense
springpad (awesome note taking app that syncs to the web)
trap! (annoying awesome game)
U.S. Army Survival Guide (in case of zombie apocalypse)
XDA
Y5 Battery Saver (turns off wifi unless you are in range of a remembered wifi hot spot)
Two that I wish worked better are:
Widget Locker (as stated above - can be laggy and flakey - replaces the lock screen but lets you put whatever you want on it.)
ICE - In Case of Emergency (also replaces lock screen, but force closes on 2.2 a LOT)
Some apps I haven't seen mentioned, For humor, try
Fml, epic fails, demotivational posters, daily comic strip
For shopping, amazon, best buy.
For in the car, I just ordered a blueant s4, which has app that goes it that will read texts to you, allow for navigation to be read via Bluetooth, and announce callers and give option to answer or not. Haven't got it yet, don't know how well it works.
Is car home gone guys?

List of top-20, must have apps for the Vibrant?

shootme
coltage control
root explorer
wolfram alpha
appbrain market
poweramp
pulse
unified remote
3g watchdog
Soundhound ftw.
oh, and Megavideo is a close second.
I'm guessing all of these require you to "root" the phone or modify it in some way? I modify desktop computers all the time but not really familiar with mobile phones...lots of reading for me to do, hopefully I get myself up to par!
BTW I have no data, just WIFI!

MOST of the ones listed, no.
But trust me, if you read, "rooting" will be the least of your worries .

Exactly, once you root look out because no matter how great the rom your running is you'll still want to checkout the latest & greatest. If you do decide to root you'll definitely want these apps.

Task manger
Cam scanner
Ulysse Gizmo
System panel
For fun Pic Say
I use Launcher Pro, System Panel (paid version to monitor what apps are using my battery), Swiftkey (30 day trial is available in the market, I find the prediction better and faster than the gingerbread keyboard), Tapatalk Pro (for viewing message boards), last.fm (music app like pandora)
adfree
barcode scanner
call confirm
ebuddy
kapersky mobile security (they are giving away 6 months free service)
root explorer
miui music player

Elixir, System Panel, and Androzip all have good task managers and do more than just manage apps
DropBox
FolderOrganizer
SwipePad and/or PowerStrip
GPS Test
Tricorder
Virtual Trackball (but use the dpad)
VLC S&C
gStrings
iMap Weather (spot on, and never runs in the background)
Traffic Widget
Inserty and/or Clipper
*Quick Addroid (get the Pro version) I open this most often, works for anything you have to remember, great for tracking medications, smokes, diet, times your Ex.... whatever, in case you want to keep track....
Business Calendar or Touch Calendar (I hear Gemini is good if you like it, too)
Extensive Notes or NoteEverything
Smart Keyboard or Ultra Keyboard (Smart runs a bit cleaner, but it's not quite as cute/customizeable) - they both allow voice input right from the keyboard, swipe entry, and a recognizable layout
Ringdroid
Car Home from Market, but it needs a clock
Simple Audio Manager - it's so tiny and useful I almost forgot it
Right now I like Seesmic, but you'll likely troll around for the right Social app(s) for you.
I am also heavily dependent on Google Voice and am very happy with Handcent for SMS (so I know who I'm texting by what color their bubble is. Trust me, it's worth it.)
And yes, as a matter of fact, I do spend way too much time checking out apps, and all of these developers have been great with me, and I'm a pest.
Once you get a handle on things, if you want to automate volume/connectivity, I strongly recommend Tasker. I tried Locale, and a bunch of other schedulers, auto-text reply apps, call filters, power managers, but Tasker replaced all of them, and just the way I like it.
EDIT: Blast those background apps. I recommend SMSBackup+, too. Backs up your call log to your calendar.
pulse reader - this one is the best!

Apps U use on your WP8 device

Which apps use on your devices?
Authenticator (think Google Authenticator)
bart mobile (when in the Bay Area)
Fiction Book Reader (for DRM-free ebooks; I've tried a few others too such as Point Reader which is different and cool)
Flashlight (does what the name implies...)
Here Drive/Transit/Maps (of course, although Here Drive pisses me off quite badly at times)
IM+ (for GTalk, Yahoo Messenger, and AIM contacts)
LinkedIn (mostly for answering messages / network requests)
Lync 2013 (for work)
Mango Transit (basically acts like the built-in Maps app but adds the ability to get directions via transit instead of only driving or walking)
MTGBugs NEXT (helpful app for Magic: the Gathering players)
My Account (T-Mobile US carrier account info app)
Netflix
OneBusAway (somewhat regional but very helpful)
oPenGP (PGP/GPG client; not great but does the job)
OverDrive (for getting e-books and e-audiobooks from the library)
Pandora (not a lot, since I have a Zune / Xbox Music pass, but sometimes)
RemoteDesktop (works fantastically)
Skype (of course)
Speedtest.net (just like the website, basically)
The SSH Client (also works great, and yes I use both RDP and SSH servers)
WTA Trailblazer (only useful if you happen to live in Washington, or want to do hikes here, but I do...)
Yelp
This is a pretty partial list - just the stuff that I use *regularly* - and excludes the following categories of apps:
Games (lots of those)
Built-in apps (I don't use all of them, but I use a lot of them)
Homebrew apps (given what I do here, this should be obvious)
#mowithlove (for giving mustache to pics)
advanced english dictionary
CamScanner (very useful app)
Flashlight XT
LazyLens(For pics effects)
Nokia smart camera
Moliplayer Pro(watching Movies)
myAppfree (daily one free app)
Nokia Mix radios
Nokia cinemagraph(Animated photoes)
Youtube HD
Lockmix (i love this app)
Most of the Nokia apps, Bing news & weather, Netflix, mytube, Hulu plus, flashlight x, swipe tunes, various games, Skype, instagram beta, tumblr, pininterest, vba8, snes8, imdb, mediafire, PayPal, Pandora, tapatalk, chronos, contacts, battery meter and baconit. Some others too

I've got a number of apps that I've installed but only so many I actually use...
Remoting into other computers:
TeamViewer - for when RDP doesn't want to cooperate.
ConnectMe - RDP client, kinda works...NetBIOS names seem to break on WP8.
Music&Video:
onePlayer - a decent DLNA app that kinda works (its really a WP7 app, Nokia's PlayTo does the opposite of what I want; I loved HTC's Connected Music app for WP7)
ModPhone7 - Plays tracker music (MODs, XMs, ITs, S3Ms)
WOMP - Also plays tracker music, it was the first in the store to actually work.
Sat Rad Player - An app that plays the streams from SiriusXM. Its no longer in the store AFAIK...
MPAtool - used to be homebrew for WP7, but its officially a legitamate app now. It mostly adds images from last.fm, but does a basic google image search too...
Games:
Tiny Death Star - A freemium game thats actually playable without throwing real money at it.
VGBC/VGBA/SNES8X/EmiGens/EmiPSX - Emulators that I use to kill time in public. Sometimes I wish they made a shell-like moga controller (I don't actually use these too often where I'd want to purchase one, but not all of these have support for it either...)
Internet Stuff:
UCBrowser - A "private" browser that has previously had a homebrew version for WP7. Also works for downloading stuff that IE wouldn't download.
Amazing Weather HD - Nice live tile.... Thats about it. I solely use this to check the weather. (Radar is meh in all weather apps in the store.)
SysApp Pusher - A must have for checking updates and installing apps for other OEMs.
Skype - I occasionally chat with other xda members using this, but it doesn't always work in the background.
Zinio - I have a few magazines I read using their service. Namely PCMag....
MetroTube - Some might actually object to this, but it just has always worked for me. I also had this on WP7 a year ago. I download some youtube videos using this, but I'd wish it had a transfer to music+videos option to watch it on something else or to download them to the PC.
Gasbuddy - I used to try and report gas prices to help others, but since I'm the one who does most of the driving... its not very useful unless I need to find gas in the first place.
Windows Phone Central - This is kinda the only news I read anymore. Politics and regional news is the same stuff month after month.
Tapatalk - I post here using it when I need to just do a quick update on what I'm doing or if I can actually help someone.
facebook beta - Its facebook... what more can I say about it?
wptorrent pro - a torrent app that plays movies and stuff...it shares the files to the local network via a web-server.
Lockscreen background:
Lock Manager - a visually appealing lockscreen that I can live with that has the weather in a format that doesn't take too much of the lockscreen image away.
glance background - added a monochrome version of Master Chief (John) from Halo and set it too look like it was on 8bit device
Mapping/GPS Stuff
HERE Drive+ - Annoying as h***, I use it mainly for my current part-time job and I'm beginning to feel extreme hate for it. The fact it mutes the audio when it announces things is the first annoyance instead of pausing the music or just ducking behind the music volume while announcing the directions. The second annoyance is that it doesn't announce the address right before I destinate. (at least after the last update it shows the hose number instead of just the street name.) Also, it doesn't always have the most accurate maps, its 3 years outdated in my region, so roads have been renamed and other roads have been outright closed. When not actually not on the road it tends to snap you to the road, so you could be in a parking garage where it snaps you to a road when you are actually on a different one. This app fully assumes that you are still heading the "proper" directions until it recalculates in ~5-10 seconds. All of this just makes me wish the Garmin app wasn't so darned expensive.
gMaps - I use this when Nokia Drive/Bing Maps/anything that uses the OS's maps are out of date and need to get to a missing street.
GPS Voice Navigation - I've dabbled with this a bit enough to say its nice to use, but requires data; navigating around the app isn't as straight forward as it should be.
Developer Apps:
TimeMe - a clock tile with the date, battery percentage and the current weather (just temp and status e.g. cloudy image and temp)
Native Toast Launcher - Used for launching hidden pages inside any app.
US MO Apps - for whenever I can get Fiddler to work right again...
