Touch input lag? - Droid X General

To anyone who has the Droid x, can you run a touch input test and see if there is a delay? Also someone run fps2d, that would be nice. I just have this slight feeling 2dfps are capped at 30fps(coming out of my ass) because if you watch this review, it doesn't seem that smooth, but I know from another review in 3d it gets 60fps.

Droid X does NOT have the 30FPS cap. In this benchmark he gets over 30FPS on the 3D test.
Whats the name of the app they used to do the touch input lag in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szOje7dcRlo

HTC Evo has a 30FPS cap on the display - period. Doesn't matter if it's a 2D or 3D application. That's why I posted the YouTube benchmark video. It clearly shows 60FPS in a 3D app which means it's not capped.

Huh? I not talking about the EVO at all, I am saying the Droid X does not have a 2d fps cap. You can have no 3d fps cap, but have a 2d one, it's perfectly possible.
I was just verifying it doesn't have a 2dfps cap, even though I already knew it had no 3d fps cap.

Then why did you say you thought it was capped at 30FPS in your very first post? The only phone that is capped at 30FPS is the Evo, hence the reason I mentioned it.
Once again, if you get over 30FPS in a 3D app then you'll get over 30FPS in a 2D app. Unless the 2D app is very demanding and your CPU/GPU cannot keep up.
Anyway, we know it's not capped and it beats the Evo in CPU/GPU tests. Gotta love it.

D3Ddemo.exe from Treo 800w

It appears the Treo 800w has Direct3D support.
I'm curious if the D3Demo can be run on devices to determine their D3D ability?
anyone have it?
http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/treo_800w_direct3d_hardware_ac.html
Here is the D3D Demo App.
I get 4fps on my Titan
~35fps on HTC Elf
My own test with a textured cylinder (100 triangles) renders ~10fps.
edit: stupid post, the OP had already said what i said :/ oops
Wow. 3 whole FPS on my Kaiser!!!
Surur
About 37 fps on my prophet...

If you are brave enough try
http://www.htcclassaction.org/driverprogress.php#update_20080718_1
47-50 fps on my Elfin with overclook!!!
at 273Mhz
More than 20fps on Kaiser with D3D drivers. No FPS display however.
No FPS display here too, but it displays quite well
~30 fps with my P3470 Phraros
3.67 on my touch dual roflcopters!
So, until now no device with hardware acceleration! This simple demo should run with hundreds of fps. Anybody with a htc diamond wants to try?
haha
This Wierd i Get 39.08 FPS on HP IPAQ it like the more powerful the device is the slower the FPS and The Crappier Specs device the FPS is higher
So I tried the demo on my Diamond, there was no FPS displayed but the cube and it's orbiting ball moved very smoothly with no noticeable frame dropping. I'd confidently guess at over 30fps. CorePlayer works great with no frame dropping on xvids, but I'd like to try a good graphics intensive game that supported the diamond hardware.
Is my Sprint HTC Touch with WM6.1 supposed to be getting 3FPS? Seems awful slow to me.
mine doesnt show the fps i have the new drivers on the tilt but it runs pretty smooth
3fps on my tilt, running Dutty's 4/29 rom WITHOUT drivers.

So no text display on your HTC Diamond?
I wonder if this is why the Kaiser is afflicted too since it uses some Diamond dlls.
runs smooth as silk here on my Himalaya, which surprised me quite a bit
though i can't tell you the exact framerate as the textdisplay for them is somehow missing, i guess the framerate is somewhere between 30-40 fps or something like that...

30 FPS cap HD2/Evo

Hi my HD2 counterparts. I come from the land of Android, and the Evo, with a question for you all. I believe the HD2 and Evo use the same screen, if this is true, is there a way for you guys to test FPS? If it is the same screen, I think this could help us figure out whether or not our Evo's 30 FPS cap is actually a hardware limitation, or a driver limitation.
It may be the same screen but not the same video driver or even the same graphics chip, I know I have run a couple of games that have fps counters and they show way over 30 ...
I am using the patched 3d drivers for HD2 ...
I use Morphgear and I get 60 fps. No fps limitations here.

what is up with the rear facing cam?

All the footage I've seen recorded from it has been really low framerate like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IZIG-YnLhE
Just wondering if the actual hardware inside is limited?
Relax
Calm down, you're bashing the device before it's even been released. Just wait another 5 days, and if the video is still has choppy as it was in that video, then you can start saying SONY is crap. But for now, don't judge a pre-release device.
I was a little concerned after watching that video as well. But i'm sure that will not be the final consumer software. I can't imaging my GS1 would end up with a smoother video than this beast.
Supposedly the framerate for 720p video is 60Hz and the 1080p is somewhere around 30, don't remember exactly
Relax man!
Did you see the boost in Benchmarks of the N4? when everyone was *****ing about the earlier ones?
So wait

I thought flash video's just played in 30 FPS, regardless of what the source FPS was? (as in a 60 FPS video uploaded, will only playback as 30 FPS on YouTube)
The ones uploaded are recording at 22.5fps at 1080p. The sensor supports 30fps at 1080p

The point of the 60 FPS is to do a slow motion, once you took the video, you can edit it to get some parts (well actually one part) to go slower.. then you can for example, while filming a freind jumping with a skate board, slow down only the part when he actually is in the air.. you can choose what speed to reduce it to as well.

Recording videos while driving a car. Great job. Moron.
took a 60 fps of a local race.
i think it makes a more smooth video ?

YouTube isn't 60fps so video is pointless

No it is not, you have slow motion option and HD fast (60fps), they are different things, with 60fps you will have a smother video.
Smoother like if you are playing a game at 20fps(for example) in a computer and then change the configuration or the hardware and it give you 30~40fps, you will be able to play it much better.
60 fps is 720p, 30 fps is 1080p. (i'm guessing 60fps means lower compression rate / less space taken?)

I'm not trying so start anything or anything here, but some of us can actually do that and still maintain a car on the road. ^^;

let me bring a little clarity!!!
The reason the 60 frames per second looks so smooth is because our eyes see at about 60 frames per second that is the point in having 60 frames per second . this is why in the gaming industry for many many years we have tried to get 60 frames per second that is also coincidentally the same refresh rate of your monitor (likely) to go a little further you'll notice that 3d TVs are typically 120 Hertz so 60 รท60 is 120 3d is 2 images. Tada sooo, For me i love the 60 fps because theres no loss in frames when I watch it with my eyes... Your dog will see it skip but not you! Dogs see at like 75 or 80 fps dont quote me on that ,but its a lil faster than we do.. Wikipedia can explain all that if you wanna know more.... So both arguments are kind of right. Yes the images will look better in slow mo and yes the images will look smooth but you would actually one more like 120 for slow mo or 240 the more frames you get the better it looks in slow mo..

Note 4 Detailed GameBench FPS Scores - Impressive

LINK HERE
Seems the phone is able to handle the most demanding games at max fps. Good to know since my next phone is the Note 6 lol.
ps - I think most games are set at a certain resolution then upscaled, which is a win win for the qhd screen. Such a beauty to look at!
Ran the Epic Citadel bench. On the default setting, I avg about 60fps. On the Ultra HQ setting, I'm getting like 50 fps. This is all at 2560x1440 resolution.
Pic - sorry, I couldn't add a picture to the 2nd post above on the xda app once I posted.
