EPF21B to FRF91
http://android.clients.google.com/p...R_FRF91-1.13.1700.1_EPF21B_release_signed.zip
Instructions:
1. Download the update from one of the links above.
2. Rename the file to update.zip. Note that if you're using Windows, just rename it to "update" (no quotes, of course) because it's already a zipped file.
3. Copy the update.zip file onto your microSD card.
4. With your Nexus One off, hold down the trackball and press the power button.
5. You'll be booted into a white screen with three Android robots on skateboards. Select "Bootloader."
6. On the next screen, select "Recovery."
7. Your phone will reboot, giving you a picture of the Android robot and an exclamation point inside a triangle.
8. Now press the power button and volume up button at the same time. It could take a couple of tries.
9. Now (using the trackball this time) choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip" and let things run their course.
(Note: Before doing step 9 you can also run the "Wipe Cache Partition" option. This has been known to help with the soft key accuracy on the nexus one (optional. This causes no data loss.)

Haha! Ya the news is spreading like wild fire
Lets see if we can crash google's servers lol.

are we going to see newer froyo updates after this one?

Just updated from Stock 2.1 on AT&T. Thank you!

Its for real this time. My phone is updating as I type. I cant wait...
So while waiting for my 5 minute between post restriction to expire ive seen the phone boot and noticed a few things. The power control widget takes a while to load. You have to re-authenticate to facebook and my Exchange calendar was automatically added.

Downloaded the file from Google's servers and shall be applying as soon as my classwork done.

Just signed up to say...
THANK YOU!!!
I have been patiently waiting for Froyo while seeing my friend who works for Google just happily loving Froyo alone.
Anyway, thank you thank you thank you!

i can definitely confirm that this works. thanks!

my understanding is that this is the final froyo build that is going out ota. People are receiving the update in waves so this should be official.

So I'm on ATT nexus and rooted and running the latest r19. Is this the final version that both t-mobile and ATT versions will get? Or is this a second version only for ATT phones?
Should I upgrade to this if I'm rooted already?

FINALLY. Thanks a bunch
My Nexus is updating right now

Glad I'm the first to have problems...
Stock N1 at&t bands, when I apply the update per the steps in the OP, I get
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
I've tried it 3 times, reformatted the sdcard so the update.zip was the only thing on it, down loaded the file twice...I'm lost.
Signed,
At the mercy of the XDA Gods!

Sorry for this question, but...
If I update my Nexus AT&T with this rom, will it avoid its warranty? Is it the official update provided by Google?
Thanks a lot.

Go there. Notice how there's an "update", "update 2" and "update 3"? Try downloading the link from "update 3". Of course you wanna make sure you rename it "update.zip". Transfer it to your sdcard and then try again.
Also, for those who do not know how to update manually:
Rename the downloaed file to update.zip
Put it at the root of your SD-Card and then turn off the phone.
Hold down the volume button and then press the power on button, it should go into a boot screen. Wait for a few seconds for it to load up proper and then select "Recovery" with the volume down/up button and press the power button.
Once you see an android holding a sign with an exclamation mark push volume down+ volume up + power button _at the same time_.
Select "apply sdcard:update.zip"(or something similiar) with the trackball and press it.
After the update is finished select "reboot system now" with the trackball and press it.

Thats what it was. Came back to let the other guy know, but ya beat me to it.
Rename it to "update" with out the .zip. Worked for me.
Thanks!

Still not work for me. Already rename to update; but is still saying E:signature verification failed !!!

Worked for me!
Getting root without unlocking the bootloader worked after updating to FRF85B too!

Nexus One Solution"failed to verify whole-file signature"when updating to gingerbread
Important Notice :
Do this at YOUR OWN RISK, I don't give any guaranty if something happened to your phone , also store all of your data and memorize all of your previous apps
Hi Guys,
I had this problem and it made me mad cause i was so exited to run gingerbread on my Nexus one(THIS SOLUTION WORKS FOR UNROOTED DEVICES)
PLEASE BACKUP FIRST CAUSE NOT ALL THE DATA WILL BE RESTORED USING YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT .... SO PLZ BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANY STEPS
The solution of this problem is long but it is worth it and it is totally safe:
"Through the steps to know the current version you are at : just go to settings ===> about phone "
First Step:
You will have to go to the stock rom(without any google updates) using passimg.zip
Code:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-27237-gbe746fb
[email protected] #1
Build Number: FRG33
After You finish this step the mobile is like the new one from the factory, It will ask you to provide the gmail account but don't do it this time just skip it , you will enter it once at last when gingerbread is on your device
Second Step:
after that you will update (using update.zip method) using the second link rename the file 656099b119f8.signed-passion-ota-102588.656099b1.zip to update.zip (thanks to efrant)
After the gingerbread update , it is recommend to do a factory reset : setting ==> Privacy ==> Factory Reset
When the device restarts just enter your google account and all your apps should be restored ( you will find a notification telling you x applications restored )
Et Voila it is done
Code:
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-59423-g08607d74

I have same problem. In my opinion problem is with special kernel from Vodafone. See it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933126
After many hours fighting with my N1 I give up and unlocked bootloader. After that I make update using fastboot without any problem. Now I have 2.3.3
The new Passimg did the trick!
Automatically updated the passimg.
Reboot
updated the update.zip.
Now running 2.3!
From branded dutch vodafone to 2.3!!
Many thnx!
ok seems that the link of the passimg isn't good
i will re-upload the file again and i will provide the new link
LOLz.
The file I uploaded was the same zip. I just renamed it to passimg.zip before uploading (because that seems to be a common failing point)... xD

2.2.1 SBF for Motorola Bravo

Anything YOU do to YOUR phone is not my fault, please proceed with caution
To apply:1. Download RSD Lite, Drivers, and .sbf files from below
2. Install RSD Lite
3. Open RSD Lite as administer (hold shift, right-click on RSD Lite, select Run as administer)
4. Unzip the .gz and extract the .sbf
5. In RSD Lite, browse for the .sbf and select it.
6. Power your phone into the bootloader (hold volume up and power on, should be a black screen with white text)
[If the bootloader screen says Cannot program, your battery is too low to apply .sbf]
7. Plug phone in and run the driver installer
8. RSD should recognize your phone now
9. Select you phone and press Start
10. Wait for it to finish
Whatever you do, do not unplug your phone from computer or disconnect them in any way
Note: If you bootloop and are stuck at the red M logo, you need to wipe data in stock recovery. To do that, hold the volume down button and continue holding it when you power up the phone. Then, once you see the triangle and android, press both volume buttons at the same time. After that, scroll down and select wipe data/factory reset.

Couldn't Update So I Used A Stock Froyo SBF and RSDLite 4.8
My Bravo was rooted. So, every time I tried to update it, I got the triangle/exclamation mark thing. There was probably a way around that, but I don't know enough about hacking phones.
Instead, I flashed (at least I think that it was a case of flashing some sort of ROM... I really don't know) a stock version of Android 2.2.1 onto my Bravo, and it worked like a charm.
Now I need to go about figuring out how to root it again, but that's a headache for another day...
I tried to post the link to the SBF download, but this forum wouldn't let me. So, you'll have to find it on your own.

Look on Youtube for this video "Flashing SPRecovery SBF File to a Motorola Droid."
I just used those instructions to install a stock Froyo SBF on my Bravo using RSD-Lite. Of course, when dude in the video says to press up on some button on the keypad, you will press up on the volume rocker instead.
I would post the link, but this thing won't allow it.

Yes, and I did follow all of the steps as they were written. I've been encountering the same problem ever since I received the message that there was an update available.
It keeps saying "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" whenever I try to run the installation (for the update).
For the RSD Lite program, I keep getting this error: "Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file. (0x7029); phone connected"
I have no idea what's wrong. I've tried every solution posted on this board as well as Motorola's site, AT&T's site, and countless hours spent searching Google for an answer/solution.

Well, that's the first error to show up before I select "apply sdcard:update.zip"
After I select that, this is exactly what comes up:
-- Install from sdcard...
..Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to read footer from /sdcard/update.zip
(Is a directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
That's exactly everything that comes up when I select "apply sdcard:update.zip" at the Android system recovery <2e> screen.

2.3.4 OTA has landed!

Happening OTA on my SNS as I type this - WHOO-HOO!
No! Mine won't work, i select restart and install, the phone reported with the little android and box with the update progress bar, half WA through the box changed to A warning triangle, what am i supposed to do, there is now nothing in system updates, please help.
Sorry to hear that SWFlyerUK, I can't help with any suggestions I'm afraid.
However, mine is good and I'm having a play with it now - haven't seen much difference thus far though.
Thanks.
I've tried renaming it to update.zip then restart phone holding down volume up, recovery, the Google screen shows then the box and little android then the warning triangle, I've never been able to get into recovery, always me lol
When on the triangle press up + power again and the recovery menu will appear.
Nope thats not doing anything, the only way for me to turn the phone off is to remove the battery - is my device then "update bricked" So I can't access recovery?
When I first turn on the device with the power + volume up I enter the bootloader no problem, when I scroll down to "recovery" the Google screen is shown with the little unlocked padlock, then the box and android, then that changes to the warning triangle and android then nothing happens, can't turn off or anything without removing the battery.
SWFlyerUK, you should try to press keys in different order, press power first and then volume up.
I stayed 5 minutes as you wondering why it didn't work !!!!
Congratulation JTHM, but can you post your start version and the link of the update please ?
Worked a charm - updating now, thanks mate!
Though I'm now getting an error on install;

I'm currently on 2.3.3, is it because i'm installing the wrong update?
My model is GRH78C I9020XXJK8 and installing an i9020T
GRI40, KB1 update?
My origional update that was download via OTA this morning is no longer on my device.
Correction, I do still have the origional called update.zip, but thats not working either.

GRH78C is 2.3.2 not 2.3.3 which is why you get that error. You need to upgrade to 2.3.3 (GRI40) first before you can use the upgrade. The script checks for GRI40 and it doesn't find it so it aborts.

I got a nice little surprise this morning. The OTA update was waiting for me to install. I didn't have to wait long at all to get. It took a couple weeks for 2.3.3 to land on my phone, but 2.3.4 took a few of days since it was announced. Not too shabby.

Ok so I've got 2.3.3 download, gone to apply the update which got further but was yet again aborted,
I've got assert failed:apply_patch_check("MTD:boot:2949120:ddf4dec1310bc3213cbdee1f4915e86f045755b:2945024:75a5866e391831bdc85dc6a75f81c08f6c5427")

I'm sure its the correct file. 98f3836cef93.signed.soju-GRI40-fromGRH78C.98f3836c.zip
If I'm currently rooted on 2.3.3 will my device still receive updates if an OTA upgrade is available or I have to go manual?
Would a total reformt etc of my phone help?

2.3.1 (SIMfree) when I woke this morning -> automatic OTA update straight to 2.3.4.
As it was automatic OTA I don't have a download link. Nice surprise though.
Try flash 2.3.3 full ROM? That's what I did to remove CM7 and get back to stock in order to update to 2.3.4.

Where do I find a 2.3.3 full rom for my I9023, xxxkb3?
I need it to remove my current CM7 before I can manually flash 2.3.4 into my phone. Would really appreciate it alot if you could guide me.
What do I need to do to ensure I get the OTA update??? Thanks in advance

OTA capturing methods.
How to capture OTA with root:
1. After getting OTA notification, start the download.
2. After download is complete (do not install the update now), just open any root explorer (I recommend ES file explorer) and go to the /cache directory or /data/data/com.motorola.ccc.ota/ on the device root.
3. You can see the downloaded OTA file with name like Osprey_retasia_ds_2gb.XXXXXX.zip, copy this file to SD card and then to your computer.
4. Upload the OTA file to file sharing site and post the link.
How to capture OTA without root:
Follow the instructions from here to capture OTA without root -----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/capture-ota-root-t2969602
stagefright update
After downloading the update (and not installing it), i opened root explorer in es file explorer, and opened /cache, i couldn't find the update in that folder. Rather I was not able the find the update zip file anywhere.
Same Here i cannot locate the OTA file in the Catch Folder. I updated my Moto g3rd gen XT1550
and the new System version is
23.46.4.osprey_retasia_ds_2gb.retasia.en.03 retin
And the New Build Number LPI23.72-47.2
I found a zip file of 177mb at /data/data/com.motorola.ccc.ota/ in that the file named Blur_Version.23.31.33.osprey_retasia_ds_2gb.retasia.en.03.zip
.....is this what you need..

yes the OTA should be of 177.4 MB, but just confirm the name... it should be Blur_version.23.46.4.osprey.XXXX ... upload it to file sharing site and PM me the link.
I got the update notification which included stagefright fix as well as some camera fix... I downloaded the OTA (about 170MB). My phone was rooted with the stock recovery. I went ahead and installed. It told me it will take about 10 minutues. The phone rebooted and installed the OTA and restarted once. It again restarted one more time but will not complete the process. I now see a screen with a blank display. Been like this for more than 10 minutes. Nothing happening. Any ideas? How can I force shut down and restart...?

I am able to boot into flash mode.. Under software status it say "Modified".. Is there anything I can do through ADB or something to restart the phone? Or can I rollback the last OTA?

What is your exact requirement? DO yyou want to install the latest OTA? What is your device status? Locked bootloader/unlocked? root/no root?
Be specific so that we can quickly answer your issues.

If your phone is rooted or having unlocked bootloader you can supposedly install OTA. OTA works only woth stock recovery (which comes with Motorola) ....

My bootloader is unlocked and the phone is rooted with stock recovery. .
I tried installing the OTA. It seem to have installed the OTA. However, the phone is now not restarting. Looks like a boot loop.
when I press the volume down for few seconds the phone shuts down... but it automatically restarts. But does not go beyond the initial two-three screens and then displays a blank display. I am able to get into flash mode.. but the device is not being recognized...
what to do to come out of this situation...

Another update pull failed verification and resulted in another footer error. If installed without any modification it works, but after rooting and pulling the update.zip, trying to install it results in an error. It could be a security measure introduced to the update.zip to prevent installing on a phone without the matching signature assigned during the initial download.
Whenever i tried to follow the link it asked me for a security key ????
footer error
I read on another nougat beta thread that if you get a footer error then you should decrypt your SD and try agian

I did not have my SD Card encrypted. I have also noticed some discrepancies between the update.zip I am extracting and the working VZW update.zip. Things like: the boot.img is 0kb, and there are missing CERT.RSA, CERT.SF, or MANIFEST.MF files under META-INF folder.
I have tried extracting it in several different ways\environments and get problems with every pull.
Other variants are working on the same thing with the same issues. I have the last pull I made, but I can't continue working on this as heavily since I'm using my daily driver. I'll try again as new info\solutions come up.
Seems like getting root (with current methods) may be disturbing the file structure. There may be something else at play here since all the pulls still come with a boot.img that is 0kb, and are missing CERT.RSA, CERT.SF, or MANIFEST.MF files under META-INF folder.
Here is the link to the WIP update.zip. I'm going to stop working on this until someone can suggest a better way to root or pull the file without it coming out corrupt\incomplete. Good luck!

Thanks @jrkruse for finding this method!
1. reboot to download mode (power + volume up +home) and make sure phone says Official under system and binary.
2. If it does not then you must odin the PH1 firmware, use the pit file and the full csc not the home csc file
3. go through setup
4. enable developer options
5. turn OEM unlock off
6. enable USB debugging
7. place Update.zip on Ext sd card in folder named fota
8. power off phone
9. reboot to download mode make sure both system and binary are official.
10. reboot to recovery (Power + volume down + home)
11. choose apply Update.zip from SD card
12. find Update.zip in the fota folder you created on your Ext sdcard
13. click yes to apply
After this it should update to the Android 7.0 beta and hopefully will be able to download future beta OTAs.
You will not lose anything as this is an OTA
You do not want to be rooted. You must be stock for this to work!
There is no gear VR available on the beta.
Troubleshooting:
"E: footer is wrong" followed by "E: signature verification failed" : Decrypt SD Card and try again.

Ideally it should. However, I have not been able to successfully reproduce the same results as installing the update file without modification.

This is for the SM-G930P regular S7 (not edge). I have pulled it via filemanager app after full root, and via adb on linux and windows after eng kernel root and full root. All of them yielded an apropriately sized update.zip, but it seems to get corrupted during the rooting or extraction process.
Also, there may be a reason behind our update.zip not having a boot.img. We may not need a new boot.img after updating to PJ2, so it isnt packaged in our update. If someone can repackage the update.zip so it passes verification we may have more luck.
