I need help getting an app to install after being modded - Android Software Development

I modded an app from the market. Well its the facebook app and u can find it with a search for inverted facebook.
Well I can get it to flash and pushed through adb but when I'm trying to get to install like a 3rd party app off the SD card it says installation failed.
Does anyone know why and how to get it to work.

Install it through "adb install" or look into logcat. We can't know, what it is, if we don't know error message.

email apk to install them?

Hi
I have trouble emailing .apk files to myself and install them on the phone. I use cyanogens stable (currently 4.04) and when I dowload the mail and click the "previev" button (there is no "download") I get the message: Error parsing the package.
Any solution known? (I have enabled the "install non marketplace" option)
have u got the 'Appsinstaller' from the market
Yes I do, but I guess the app is not even stored on my sdcard somewhere as during the download process it crashes somewhere...
You have to log into gmail from the browser and not the app, then you will be able to download it.
use apkatcher ..

[Q] New Google Docs app-- how can I install this thing?

It's in the market, but it won't let me install. I'm on CM7 nightlies, FWIW.
Is it the camera features or something? Does anyone have the APK they could post?
I pulled it from my phone using ADB and install it on my Nook. It seems to work well so far. Yes I do believe it is the camera permission that is causing it not to show up but the permission has just been approved in Cyanogen.

[CM7] How to run OneTimeInitializer.apk a second time?

After the first boot into CM7, this OneTimeInitializer.apk was launched and I could choose what Google Apps to install. I noticed, that I had an error during the install of one app and just realised that Gmail is missing, so I assume, it somehow failed to download this app.
So I need to run the OneTimeInitializer a second time - how can I do it?
I'm not sure about how to make it run again, but it is unnecessary since it is just a link to the Android market. Just search for 'gmail' in the market and install it that way, since that is all that apk would do anyway.
Thanks, I used MarketEnabler to grab it from the market as its seems to be available only to US ppl.
Oh, I wasn't aware that it wouldn't display for all. Glad I could help though.
I downloaded it and install via adb
But I got error:
FAIL_*_NO_CERTIFICATES

Well guys im going to upload the apk i got from some post on here somewhere but it worked for me.
Just uninstall the current SU and then " INSTALL " this one. No rebooting required...
Also not my liability. I haven't noticed anything bad or out of normal. It works for me
you mean install that one. I don't see a flashable zip.

First of all, if Superuser works for you and you have root privileges and root apps work this wouldn't apply to you.
Well, first I would go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, and look for Superuser.
If it is not there, then you might have to dig into ADB commands. Or just reflash ROM.

Go to the applications list and choose uninstall on super user.
Or go to the market go to my apps and then find super user click it and select un install.
From there install the 3.0 SU that I have listed and it should work for your device (varies among devices and roms).
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REFLASH ANYTHING. Just re install and it should work . It is what worked for me.
This is super frustrating it does not give me that option i guess i need to root again even though it say S if Off

[Q] Updating Gmail on Galaxy SIII SPH-L710 d2spr

How can I, or can I, update to the new Gmail 4.7.2?
I followed the app in the xda thread, http://d-h.st/pXI
Can I download and flash without any issues?
I currently have Gmail 4.5.2 on Slimbean 4.3build 2.2 Official.
Thanks for any and all feedback.
Why do you have to flash anything? It's just an apk file. Just install like any other Android app.

I did try to instal but I got an error message stating even though these files are named the same they have different signatures and installation has stopped.
What does this mean exactly?
You can either open up the Play Store and check for updates to your apps because at this point in time the update should be showing up for everyone. Second choice is to uninstall and then install with the new apk.

I did try to update it through play. It went all the to downloading and stopped during the installation with the message :"Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again".
This is why I went to download and intsall. But that route too is not working out for me.
There is no "uninstall" option for Gmail??
I'm stumped on where to go next?
Thoughts if you please??
Try using Titanium Backup to uninstall Gmail and install again from Market.
