Wow who would've thought u were a fortune telle too? I can see the future also, and don't for see this thread being or ever being a development thread. So it obviously doesn't belong in the development section. It was actually lucky to make it to the general [email protected] Op please post in the proper forum

No option for rooted stock with my own changes applied?

I'm going to wait until CyanogenMod has their 2.2 rom out. Besides, I have to swap my evo, so no need in doing any flashing right now.

4 Moderators: Please read. ROMs section request.

Was wondering if we can get a ROM section with all ROMs in one place?
That would be sweet.
The dev section is more or less a rom section.
I don't think a separate section is needed, but what would help is a common format to identify threads which contain ROM's. For example, starting a ROM thread with "[ROM]". Iced Glacier is an example of a ROM thread that doesn't follow that format and therefore doesn't stand out as much as it could.
Maybe a sub section within the dev area....
Have you checked out the Wiki?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Glacier
Section 1.4 sounds like exactly what you are looking for.
Nice suggestion but no need to clutter the forums section as its already classified under Dev. Now I understand it maybe little hard for new users to get use to on what is what from thread title. But one must do research on howto and find it for themselves as if you brick it you are responsible for your own actions.
Best thing I can tell new user is they ask the folks in General or Q&A section to help them list stable roms and report their user feedback on pro/con about the rom this way you can get many input and ultimately flash it yourself and decide.

Oh nice.
Thanks

Realistically, seasoned users have no issues finding roms in the dev section, and new users shouldn't even be aloud to read thre dev section until they've been here for a while and have the chance to learn a little bit so they have a clue before they start trying to flash their phones.

[REQUEST] PLEASE ORGANIZE the THREADS & TRY TO KEEP DEV SECTION CLEAN!

this is a sincere request...
instead of everyone starting a new thread when a FW get released & then creating another one for posting the rooted system.img here is wht i suggest:
Someone please take responsibility to maintain a single [FIRMWARE] THREAD where the OP (1st post) will contain links to latest FW available for d/l... when someone gets hands on newest FW they can post links to it in this firmware thread & the same person or other can post rooted system.img (if required for those who dont want to use prerooted-custom kernels) in same thread... also whenever there is a new FW (generic/branded/regional) available instead of posting it in other sections they can post it in this Dev thread... currently these are getting posted at various places (general section/etc) so all those searching for these FW/FTF files can find it easily...
also we can have a nice tagging system..
e.g.:
Arc-> [FIRMWARE][ARC] Latest FW: 4.0.A.2.368 [Update: 01-Aug]
Neo-> [FIRMWARE][NEO] Latest FW: 4.0.A.2.368 [Update: 01-Aug]
that way it will be easier to follow and search for info when new FW gets released...
i really hope that someone takeS responsibility for creating and maintaining this kind of thread for each Xperia 2011 device...
we had similar thread for X10 and it made life a LOT easier!
hope this will be helpful... once such a thread is formed i request the mods to please delete this thread so as to decrease clutter in the DEV section!
regards,
DooMLoRD
I'll make a thread when I get home later this evening. Index of all available firmwares with links incoming!
I think it would bee much better if NEO had his own subforum
Lets face it. There can not be 2 diferent models in one subforum.
Something wrong is bound to happen

actually what i personally feel is that all the Xperia 2011 devices can be clubbed under a single sub forum and then make sub-sub forums for each device... OR just keep the 5 basic sub-sections (Dev/General/themes/Q&A/Accessories) and then everyone should tag the threads properly with device ID... e.g.: say if u want to start a Arc related thread then just start the thread title with [ARC]...
cause if u see most of the things are common for Arc/Play/Neo (and even the new Xperia Mini/Mini Pro/Ray) {though i could be wrong} but all of these do share the same kernel source

A forum/subforum for the Neo has been added to the list of new forums.
I dont know if it will be a complete device forum or just a subforum under the Arc section and I dont know when it will appear but it will be something.
Please be patient

[SARCASM]Yet another LH8 thread! (MODS PSE HELP!)

I'm posting yet ANOTHER thread about LH8 hopefully to get the moderators to notice that there are currently FIVE different threads in just this subforum for downloading the LH8 leak. This is just a bit more insane than the LH7 leak which had 3 threads, and the LH6 thread that had 2 threads.
Moderators, PLEASE clean up this mess!
I'd suggest that a MODERATOR create a new thread titled "ALL JB LEAKS HERE", sticky it (until the final JB release) and merge the complete mess going on into that one thread. By having a moderator create a new thread for it, we don't see bickering over who created which thread and so-on.
In no particular order (this is JUST the LH8 download threads):

Don't worry. All the threads will die out soon and only the one with the biggest views number will be visible on the 1st page. Also, the thread I create was actually the first complete rom for download and I dumped the lh8 modem into a cwm zip. Could prove useful to aosp users.
I agree, it's very annoying to see each person posting their own copy of a leak. I know people try to help the community, but it spamming about a topic makes no sense.
The point is that ALL of the LH8 threads should be merged... There's no reason for everyone who repackages the leak in a different way to start yet ANOTHER thread.
Oddly, those very same people will crucify a newbie that MIGHT post a message asking something that was already asked...

Question is have you asked the mods that's what they are there for .
It will get worse once JB is final ten thousand posts saying JB is out .
Twenty million saying its not on OTA and four asking is it themed yet .

I asked them to deal with it for LH6, ignored LH7 and asked them again for LH8. I've even gone so far as to "report this post" on the OP in this thread hoping to get one of them to actually deal with the issue.
Hey, THIS is the original Jellybean thread! Deal with it, people!
Your just as bad as them. Leave them be
Also one is OTA
One is cwm flashable
And the other is via Odin

..and another is a nandroid and the 5th is.. OTA also, I believe. So we should have completely seperate threads for each repackaging?
I wonder if I should spend the rest of the day making CWM zip's, using different compression levels for each zip, and make a new thread for each one?
Or, perhaps repackage the OTA with the modem, one without? Then a CWM with options for formatting the cache, one without. Then an ODIN with recovery, another with the modem.. and so on.
Wouldn't it be better if ALL the repackaging posts were done in the same thread? That'd make things so much cleaner AND easier to find!
Oh, it'd also be following the XDA rules.
Let people have their fun. This is a forum for enthusiasts, not a well organised library.
Closed.
This is totally the wrong way to go about this, as I am sure you are aware.
If you want to report a thread for being a repost, or a dupe, do so, this is not helping.

screw up and flash back to stock and received the ota....is there any way to flash back to mje...
Hating life right know...
First of all, this post should not even be in development let alone original android development. didn't you notice there are only three posts here? Try general for asking question.
As far as the answer, you already know, once you ota past mje you're screwed.

@neto1012 - this is most certainly not something that should be posted in the development sections of any devices threads, especially not original dev section. If you didn't "create it" it doesn't belong in development. If you didn't "create it from scratch" it doesn't belong in original development.
Please read the rules linked in my signature & follow them. This is your warning to post in correct sections - next time we'll be forced to take more action. Moved the thread to Q&A where it belongs.
@platinumyahoo - you're absolutely correct about the thread but questions don't go in general, they go in Q&A. Also, next time don't post on silly threads like this - just click report. Thanks!
