Samsung Galaxy S - PRO - Galaxy S I9000 General

Looks like this phone will be just for USA. Like HTC EVO 4G. Because WiMAX network 802.16e in Europe is on 3.5 GHz and in USA is on 2.5 GHz

US/NA Version in March? Will it work for me?

So I'm in a contract with Telus for the next 2.5 years (CDMA), and I'm lusting after the HTC HD2.
Recently, Telus deployed their "3G+" network. From cross-referencing the phones that work on their 3G+ network, as well as the specs on the website, I've gathered that the requirements are UMTS 850 and 1900, both of which the US version of the HD2, which is apparently coming in March has.
So, my question is this: Will the US version of the HTC HD2, apparently coming in March work with the Telus 3G+ network?
As a total aside, is the HTC HD2 going to be released with a CDMA antenna, like the TP2 (which is what I have now, and which can't get on the 3G+ network -- supposedly -- because it only supports UMTS 2100)?

DHD, No North America?

Is it true that the Hardware of the DHD will not ALLOW 3G to work in NA?
I live in Canada and am craving to get the DHD but if it doesn't support 3G, it's not worth it.
Maybe Nexus 2 will be better.
Here is why i am asking, FCC information
http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/17/htc-desire-hd-hits-the-fcc-lacks-american-love/
Hi bteljuice. Maybe it doesn't allow that work in NA. But technology now a days are improving it might work on that.
It depend what frequencies your service provider uses.
The DHD supports
2G: 850, 900, 1,800, and 1,900 MHz (quad-band)
3G: 900 and 2,100 MHz (dual-band)
HSDPA (14.4 Mbit/s)
HSUPA (5.76 Mbit/s)
Also, i was under the impression that the HTC Inspire was the US version of the DHD
Basically, the American frequencies for 3G are different. I think that if I remember correctly, the best case scenario that you will have is 3G upload and 2G speeds.
It's these reasons, along with 4G, why the Inspire 4G is the Desire HD in the States.

Thread is old. Second poster never should have replied with useless info. Thread was before Telus DHD and inspire was released. Obviously they have been out for awhile now so this thread is dead.

Will this phone work for tmobile in the united states?

Will this phone work for tmobile in the united states? If so do I have to unlock it or do I have to do something for it to work?
Anybody???
The DHD will work in USA as it is quad band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz for GSM), and dual band HSPA (900/2100).
If you buy a unlocked phone, you just need to put a sim in it.
But... reading articles in the past, the HTC EVO is the US version of the DHD.
Will it work with 3g? And yea they are alike but im a tmobile costumer so I can't use the evo
Anybody???
no 3g support only edge
No it will not work on US 3G bands. T-Mobile uses 1700/2100, and AT&T uses 850/1900 (I think). I currently have one, and I'm in Florida. My 2G speeds range from 200 KBPS to 500 KBPS. That's fast enough for me. Plus I'm mostly on Wi-Fi. As far as it being like the Evo, it is very different in a good way. Better processor, better CPU, better GPU. More RAM. More ROM. Ability to use HTCsense.com. You name it, and the DHD beats the Evo. The only plus I see on the Evo side is a front facing camera, but seeing is I would never use it, I could care less.
Is the radio issue software or hardware?
I can imagine this being controlled by the radio image and not the antenna itself.
Anyone knows if I can get a radio image for it that will actually work in other networks for 3G?

[Q] GSM Evo 3d on WIND in Canada

Looking for some expert advice... Assuming the early specs on the Evo 3d are true, will this GMS variant of the Evo 3d work on wind in Canada? I have a Telus Hero I'm ready to throw through the window, and wondering if I should hold out until the GSM version of the Evo3d hits the streets?

The product description says its the i9300.
however, that cannot be the i9300 or the i9305 variants as they are quad-core unlike what you mentioned. So, in all likelihood, it should be a North America variant & not the international version..
