Question. Can I change User Agent of MMS? - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi guys.
I have a question about I9000's MMS.
I lived in Japan, and I'm using iphone's SIM on HTC HD2.
But I can't use MMS without changing User Agent.
Windows Mobile can do it.
Then...Can I change User Agent of MMS?

3G Internet Problems - Vodafone UK

Hi,
I had a quick search but my problem persists, and please forgive me if this is silly, but I'm new to this Windows Mobile Stuff!
I'm trying to get Vodafone Live working on my Exec. I can get to the Vodafone Live homepage but it is text only, there are no photos or any 3G native content/options like video downloads.
I have set my access point as "internet" and username/password fields as "wap" but still no joy. What am I missing?
I know there is a CAB file on the i-mate website with the settings but cause I have the Exec I can't download it, please help!!!!!!
Unfortunately I don't think this can be done.
As with users who converted the v800 into the z800 even with the correct settings Vodafone live no longer recognises the device as 3g-live capable.
They use the HTTP user agent string to tailor the page to the device and if that changes (which it did V800->Z800) to one not currently used by a vodafone supplied device then the basic WAP style plaintext site is offered.
There's no way to spoof the user agent, don't forget the VPA IV isn't out yet, and even when it does arrive the user agent will likely be tweaked by the bespoke firmware, so even then you'll need to flash it with the horrid Vodafone red styling to see the correct Live site...
Incidentally, all you need to do to set up Vodafone 3G is use the APN name 'Internet' - the username and password fields are redundant, they can see the device is on their network and from the HLR I believe will already know you've access to 3G services so you just need to specify which APN you're looking to use.
I have a JJ and a 3G Vodafone SIM. The .cab files are just for the APN setup etc and like you I cant get the Vodafone content. It must have a URL but its not the default Live favorite on my JJ
No, it's the fact that the device passes a string to the webserver containing the identity of the user agent, and Vodafone don't sell a jasjar or an Exec, so don't have pages tailored for it.
Is this situation likely to change when the VDA IV get released?
if the VPA IV has a different user agent string then only if you use the voda firmware or someone works out how to customise them to that degree, otherwise no.
I HAVE XDA EXEC Working On Vodafone 3G & GRPRS
I have this working on my XDA EXEC.
Make Sure your phone is unlocked for Vodafone
Sim.
The access point is "internet" as you said, however the username and password are both "web" not "wap". Leave everything else as default.
tried your suggestion - no luck. i think the APN is for contract vodafone customers. PAYG has a diferent APN.
anyway, when you say it words, are you getting the full live! screens? i can only see the text (very wap looking) screens, and no links to entertainment, which i can see if i use my nokia 6330.

[Q][APP/SETTINGS][ORANGE FRANCE] Help wanted for MMS & Suivi Conso

Hello everybody!
Not gonna talk french because I know it's considered rude in here, so i'll ask for my fellow citizens to comply kindly ^^
I'm actually looking for:
- Working MMS settings for Orange FR
- "Suivi Conso Internet pour tablette" app (removed from market + only available from Galaxy Tab from orange rom)
>MMS Settings : Been here done that, Orange FR uses a very peculiar system, with separate APN. Tried merging the APN, and configuring the apns-conf file, but i'm only able to send 10ko mms files :-(
- This is due to Orange using 1.3 WAP MMS system instead of 2.0. Problem is, we don't have this kind of config in apns-config.xml file, and we have to manually add a line like "mmsprotocol=1,3" or something like that (can't remember)
- Problem bis, this line doesn't show up in the APN settings, using CM6.1, whereas on legacy devices there's no problem.
>Suivi conso : Can someone RIP THIS APP? Orange never wrote a real USSD replacement app, and i'm not willing to download an app that monitors usage in background, thanks...
Any help appreciated!
Hy send me pm i ll send you complete config for mms and apn settings for orange france

[Q] internet-settings for mms?

Hello,
I'm from belgium and my wife has a samsung i5500 using proximus as gsm operator.
Yesterday, she got a message about a MMS sent to here, which she couldn't receive.
I started to search how i have to configure the phone to be able to receive MMS.
I found i have to set 2 APN's, one for internet and one for MMS.
Because my wife doesn't have a special data agreement, it is very expensive when she is using internet on her phone.
Because of this, i didn't want to set the internet-settings, just the mms-settings.
When i want to send a mms, it fails.
Do i really need to set these internet apn-settings if i only want to send and receive MMS?
If yes, is it really using a data-connection over internet for sending or receiving a mms?
Greetings from someone who is afraid the GSM operator will become richer on his back.

[Q] telephone ID code change

Dear N4 users,
I'm writing here to ask a (maybe silly) question. I live in Italy, and my carrier (TIM - Telecom Italia Mobile) has implemented a certain number of VoIP filters on our data connection to limit tethering and skype calsl on certain monthly data profiles.
Due to this reason, according to the different APN availables (two APNs are available: the first is a wap profile with proxy, and the other one is only for iphone users with no proxy), we have some problem sending and receiving whatsapp images/video or we have delayed notifications.
Essentially, whatsapp is mis-identified as a VoIP program and is filtered by the network. The odd thing is that this problem is present only on android phones: iphone users have no problem with whatsapp, no delayed notifications and no delay in sending/receiving images. If we try to connect to the wap APN we have fast sending/receiving of images, but delayed notifications. If we connect to the iphone-specific APN we have fast notifications, but delayed sending/receiving of images. Thus we think that the carrier activate or not the VoIP filters according to the telephone ID connected to the network.
My question is the following: is it possibile to change the ID of the nexus 4 in some configuration files to fake the iphone ID? If I connect to the online service of my carrier, inside my account details is shown the code of my telephone (LG E960), so this information is somehow sent to the carrier. Essentially I'm searching some kind of "user-agent", not for the browser but for the network.
Thank you in advance and I hope that my a little bit-too-much-articulated-question can be answered.
Cheers
Alessandro
