OK ... I got a program for the X2a that works for voice calling -- Vito's Voice Dialer ... but I don't want to have use the screen to initiate the voice reconition ...
I am using the Aliph Jawbone 2 which has a "Initiate Voice Dialing" button, but the x2a needs to know to initiate Vito when it is pushed. Is there a way to map the Jawbone button to the Vito program ... I looked at the registry, and didn't see anything that was obviously the right spot ... it there a program that can be used to connect the 2?
When I tried MS Voice Command it seemed to have the connection between the 2, but it had other problems that didn't work ... so it is gone. SO my beliefe is that it is possible, I just am in the dark as to how the get it done ...
Thanks in advance ....
did you find a way to initiate a call via the bt headset call button?
Not I haven’t … but here is what I have tried ….
1. Used AEBPlus to map the phone key to the VoiceDialer …
2. Changed the registry to map the VoiceCommand entry to VoiceDialer …
Non of these worked … it seems as though the button used for voice calling on the jawbone calls cprog directly … I thought about changing / renaming cprog … but it is always being used by Winmo .. so I can’t rename it …
I tried to rename the Phone.lnk … which didn’t help …
Also, the BT headset did not seem to be connected to the phone when the “voice dialing” button was pushed … the BT headset was not the active microphone … I tried a different BT headset with A2DP … didn’t help …
I haven't given up, but I don't have any solutions either.

Hurrah, I got the Bluetake Stereo headset (BT450Rx) for christmas! And was hoping to be able to use it in mono and with voice commander until they released the A2DP profile...
However I think I must be doing something really stupid as I can't make it work! I have paired it with the MDA Pro... (Headset profile)
I can answer phone calls and end phone calls using the button on the headphones, and get sound through during calls... However I cannot get the button to do anything else! I was under the impression that if I pressed the call button on the headset it should start the SDDialer.exe or VoiceCMD.exe depending on what you have it set to in the registry... However it does nothing but beep in the headset (not the blips of either peice of software) and nothing happens... Have I missed something??
Anyone able to help??
Andy
edit the registry
from an old post on this forum, rilot offered the following and it has worked for me:
"MS Voice Command activation from BT headset
Now this one is sweet and makes the JASJAR the daddy for voice commands.
Install Voice Command to the default location.
Fire up a registry editor
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand
Modify the string marked "path" from the default \Windows\SDDialer.exe to \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe
Now, when you press your BT headset connect button, MS Voice command will fire up and take commands through the headset. It's reponses will be played through the headset too. "
Hope it helps.
Thanks... I have tried this already and it should change it from responding to the Cyberon dialer to the Microsoft Voice Command... However mine is responding to niether!!
Any other ideas? Am I supposed to do anything to the other two keys in the VoiceCommander group?
Andy
got the bluetake bt420ex h/s for xmas and with the i-mate k-jam i can initiate commands from the talk button on the headset, just using k-jam as supplied.
i know this is not much help, but it shows it will work.
Hello, Anybody succeded in activating voice command by pushing on the standard talk button of the QTEK headset? i understand there is a solution for bluetooth devices, but i tried with the standard headset and apparently it doesn't work...i am using the fantastic 2.8 ROM....
i am also intresseted to do that.
Did anyone found a solution?
It seems that the standard "Talk" button on Qtek's headset is only good for picking up incomming calls. It is not similar to voice button on the device. I've desperatly searched for registry keys to change that.
Did anyone have any luck?
Thanks,
Rostylsav
This didn't work for me, but it's easy to roll back. Pasted from Howard Forum.

First:
goto "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path". Change the default value from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe".
Now you should be able to activate Micrsoft Voice Command by pressing the connect button on your bluetooth headset. My Scala headset beeps twice when it's ready for the Voice Command. My husbands Motorola headset beeps once when it's ready for the Voice Command.
Then you can also enable your bluetooth headset to receive music and other sound from your MDA by running the tweak "Enable Bluetooth Receive" using the Registry Wizard Program.
@glee719: This paste you did is about using Bluetooth headset for voice-dial.
The question is about the standard headset that goes with the Wizard . . . .
afaik the push-button on the headset works similar to the 'hook' buttons (green & red). Those do not trigger voicecommand either . . . .

Sorry to tell, it is not working for me, if i create a shortcut with "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe", and click on it, the voice command will lunch, however, putting the path in the reg, soft reset, press on buletooth handset doesn't work, any idea ?
By the way, how can we Set the microphone gain on the Wizard ? and how can we set the voice command to talk more and more louder ???
Yeah i'm interested to know how to make full use of the given headset, as i use it to listen to mp3 alot. The 'talk' button looks useless other than answering calls, unlike the w800i headset.
@rookery, this is NOT about the BT headset to activate VoiceCommand
Oh Sorry, did you mean the 2.5mm handfree, I don't have it in hand, does it work by the changing the reg key ???
hi to All,
useless to say i already tried the registry change for BT, and it didn't work for the STANDARD headset that is connected through the 2.5 mm jack. maybe, it is simply not possible.....
Is there a key for Talk button in the registry?
Does anyone know if there is a key for "Talk" button function in the registry?
We know there is one for BT headsets, but what about the conventional headset which comes with the device?
Anyone figure this out yet????????
Thanks
Hi.
I have Samsung wep250 Bluetooth headset, till now main button work on two ways:
- short touch call last dialed number
- long touch and release after first short beep call "voice command"
Long mode work perfect on Nokia N95, but now i have HTC Touch 2 Mega, witch was no any Voice command soft installed by default, so i install "Cyberon Voice Command" soft for tests and it work perfect, just call voice command from bluetooth headset not work.
Is there is some registry option or patch or else way to put this working?

Unfortunately, it does not work on Touch2. Besides, technical support of Cyberon wrote: "it depends on the phone vendor to decide whether they will enable this function or not. For more bluetooth supporting details, please refer to the phone vendor's technical support personnel."
Sugestion
Under "HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand" : Path = \Windows\sddialer.exe
Work ok

Please describe in more detail what you did. In the Windows folder there is no such file as sddialer.exe.
Ups my mistake, this entry is for Microsoft Voice Command software.
For Cyberon i don't know, but about this soft: it will be perfect if this soft could also announce incoming calls.
I want to "revive" this old Thread, because i have the same problem. Maybe there is an resolution out there...?
Of course there is a little Workarround: When you start the Cyberon Voice Command-Software on your Touch and then directly press the Button on your BT-Headset the Voice-Command over the Headset works.....
HandsFree is not VoiceDial
Same problem and very unlucky for this, want to use Mega with bluetooth headset and voice dial.
Tried VoiceCommander, VoiceCommand and SpeedDial, all work but do not dial with pushing Bluetooth headset button.
Changed a lot of registry paths comparing Mega registry with my old HTC Herald (which support this feature) but nothing helps.
Asked HTC Customer Helpdesk and got the following answer: Mega support HandsFreeProfile which means car and headset connection for incomming calls - but not for outgoing calls. They further stated that MS stopped this feature generel in WM6.5 and provide extra programms only for special phones which are extra noted as "support voice dialing".
So it seams to be a problem of the current bluetooth stack in WM6.5.
I installed Cyberon Voice Speed Dial on my Omnia, but not CAN initiate voice call by bluetooth. I have to trigger the application on the handset screen for a shortcut and then the call is transferred to the headset. The strange thing is that if the call comes in, that is, upon receipt of the call, I usually attend the headset. However I noticed that when you release 'button on the bluetooth headset a little more length, something like 01 seconds, fires the standard dial pad. So if you drive a bluetooth program on PPC, I think is missing only the direct action triggered by the program for bluetooth voice dialing (Cyberon), that is, assign to the bluetooth function to activate the program Cyberon Speed Voice Dial. However, if the key bluetooth is already pressing the dial pad Samsung's standard, and opens the microphone bluetooth, what is missing in my understanding, it would redirect (change) the action of the button the program you want.Se PC, I would say that would be only a matter of changing the shortcut target .. but if in the PPC do not know how .. someone help me please?
Hi Aureo,
You try to install JETware Hands-Free Extension v1.31, under menu>advance config>tick on voice dial, tqvm
Thanks, I did this, but the "voice dialing" is not enabled on my device. Displays a message (No voice dialing ...). I do not know what to do, was my good old HTC Diamond that worked all right .. but the screen I8000 is wonderful, so I insist.
I used to have VoiceCommand and BlueAudio perfectly working on my X1. Now this crappy X2 that messes up so much, canNOT run any Audio to the Bluetooth Headset.
It should have the MS Bluetooth Stack so these programs should work. Perhaps it is some registry change that makes them work?
Anybody got them to work and know how to? Thanks!
It seems that the Bluetooth AudioGateway dll files is not working properly. Tried different dll's from different versions but still did not find the "correct" working one. Anybody???
Couldn't get MS Voice Command working.
Vito Voice Dialer works great though.
Haven't managed to make my X2 work with my existing bluetooth headset.
X2 says it's paierd with the device, but then you can't answer calls or anything else.
If it wasn't for the $$$ I spent to buy this piece of crap, I'd have a new phone already!
Okay, is this vito voice dialer dialing VIA bluetooth or not? And HOW do you press a key on the phone to activate it? What key? And just read their manual, they don't even mention any bluetooth capability there. Can you use bluetooth and how?
Because voice command works (more or less) HOWEVER NOT via bluetooth and since there is NO hard/software button to assign to it, it cannot be activated via the phone either!
I have to press the bluetooth button and then the sound (mic and voice) come out of the phone speaker.
I strongly think this has to do with the bluetooth gateway SE is using with the X2. But I was hoping somebody technical could have found a solution by now. For me voice dialing is essential and my X1 was perfect.
With blue audio I could listen to musik on a mono bluetooth!
Just to mention it, I use SE hbh-PV740 and it always works if making 'regular' calls via the phone over bluetooth. But I cannot initiate it nor voice dial.
I can't get my X2 to do anything with my bluetooth kit, so all your questions re: bluetooth I can't answer.
I start vito from a button on the screen and it works.
For me and my phone, the vito product is much more accurate and reliable than voice command.
