Screen Protector - XPERIA X2 General

What is the best screen protector for the X2....I just want to protect my screen and was looking for a protector that cuts down on the fingerprints and doesn't dull the screen. I was wondering if Clarivue, Boxwave, or Martin Fields was the best..

hightec durasec. its self healing and very durable. had one on my X2 about 4 months (also had one on my x1 for over a year. ) top quality screen protector.
http://www.durasec.com/catalog/sony...ge=en&osCsid=af7e4f243402cb9c2ee67f508ea876b2
you dont really notice it when its on there and as it says, its self healing to a certain degree. small scratches just disappear.
theyre on ebay too.

Lol I will see durasec!
I also use Brando Ultra Clear - one is good for few months....

I am currently using ScreenPetronus which is very good at protecting the screen ... doesn't use any glue, is sized to fit, doesn't interfere with the screen sensing my finger or the styles, and is perfictly clear on the screen. But, it doesn't help with the finger prints ... but they are on the protector, and not the screen ...

i just applied the "brando Protector Plus Ultra Clear", it doesn't fit perfect on my x2, i hat to cut 1mm at the top (where speaker and cam is located). before i used a "vicuti crystal clear" on a SE W705.
i'm impressed by the colors, the screen looks better than x2 before, it's more a mirror than x2 before, and you cannot see fingerprints as easily as before.
so all in all a quite good choice, but the cutting-action isn't okay in my eyes. next time i'll try some other screen protector.

screen protectors

how many of you guys are using screen protectors? im using one, but it keeps getting dirty every 2 weeks. im beginning to think if its even necessary to have one for my device.
It depends on what you mean by dirty. In a way you have answered your own question. If you didn't have a screen protector, your screen is potentially left open to abrasive scratches. My understanding is that once a screen is scratched, tough. It's much easier to replace a protector than a damaged screen.
I didn't realise how delicate screen protectors were when I applied the one that came with the MDA. I've just replaced my original thin protector with a Hightec one from durasec £7.95 from Ebay. They also do thinner ones for less. Like everything in life, you get what you pay for.
Bottom line is the standard motto. Prevention is better than cure.
I am using a Covertec one, and it is fine since a while (more then 2 month).
Boxwave
I'm very happy with the Boxwave clear protector.
I wouldnt go without my brando screen protector ... been using them since my P900 had no problems with dirt or scratches ..
Brando
I use Brando as well. It's the best.
I use 3M, is't 3M the best?
I'm using the brando ultra clear but the application was fudged up; for some reason there was already dust on the screen protector despite it still being seal . I peeled it off, start applying when I realized that it was leaving marks on the screen.
Washed it then reapplied and in the process, I managed to drop my cutter on it , blade first, and there's a small scratch on one corner.
Definitely going to have to have another go. With respect to clarity and responsiveness, I find it to be unresponsive if the application was poor but otherwise, suits me fine and nobody could tell it was applied except due to the fact that there's a scratch on it. Anyone got any tips? I washed with cool water and no detergents. Should I use any detergents?
what kinda protectors u guys use, i mean thin or hard. I had a belkin thin screen protector on my jam and it worked perfectly for more than a year, then i sodl the device and got the O2 XDA mini s, now i am looking for some decent screen protector.
what do u guys recommend, hard or thin?
This is probably heresy, but I have had my phone for 6 months and have never used a protector and there isn't one scratch. I travel about 80% a year for work to boot. But it usually travels in my pocket as opposed to a bag or something.
cool
i was waiting to hear that...6 months in your pocket and no scratch? thats pretty good..because i keep mine in my pocket all the time..if i ever throw it in a bag..i use the case it came with.
I just got a Martin Shields and love it. Took a little getting used to having to press a little harder, but it's great and I can't even tell it's on there.
by the way, how do I uninstall the old screen protector?
It has many scratchs over it and even more dust particles under it...
I'm using the BoxWave ClearTouch screen protector. I love it. I can barely tell it's on. I highly recommend it. It was kind of a pain to get on properly, but what screen protector isn't.

do you use a screenprotector?

Do you use a screenprotector on your trinity? I do, one from Brando, but I don't like it and am thinking about removing it...
Is anyones screen already damaged?
Is it possible to put it perfectly at all ?! I mean I must be in a totaly sterile envoirement with gloves and special suit and God knows how and what skill I must have to put it right
My Trinity is one day old but I will surely remove it in a couple of days, can't look at it with this ugly bubbles beneath
The first thing I do when I get any new device is get a screen protector for it, and it goes on before I ever start using the device. I've gone through a lot of PDA's over time and one thing I can say is that you get better at putting on the protectors and you get used to the odd bubble or piece of dust underneath. It's far better than what happens to your screen without a screen protector over time.
The best way to put the protector on is to carefully peel just a bit of one edge and line it up at the top of the screen. Then use the included card to slide the rest down the screen, the paper backing will peel off as you do this and it helps to prevent bubbles and dust getting on the stick side of the film.
If you don't like bubbles, try a brand that is not adhesive. Most people don't like the type that slips under the case but I do. I've been using NuShield protectors for a couple of years on 4 different PDAs and they are great IMO. I don't use a case (store in pocket) and NuShields are very durable - easily lasting 6 mo.
I'm using a brando ultraclear for K-Jam in my p3600... it works perfect... I haven't any sort of bubbles because i put it the first day i got my new device.. so device under it was very clean and the result is PERFECT

Completely agree!
I'm using Covertec Screenprotector(for S100), and it works like hell!
The screenprotector is about 1-1,5 mm thick, so it's pretty thick compared to many other brands, but the advantage is that it's almost impossible to get airbubbles, and the screenprotector is 110% clear! So you won't even see it's there!
Comes in a pack with two protectors, one with UV-filter, and one which is ultra-clear...
Can highly recomend them... No need for a "anti-bubble-wiper-thingy"
1.5mm thick?!?!?! That's thicker than a "anti-bubble-wiper-thingy". I have wetsuites that thick. You talking about a case or a screen protector?
LOL
No offense - just having fun. Some are actually quite thick in comparison.
Hehe! Well, ok; maybe it's a bit thinner... But it's about the thickness of a playing card, and just as stiff as one too...
And no, it's not a casing, or a wetsuit... Maybe a drysuit haha!
I use protector, but got 2 bubbles which I want to try to remove.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the protector without using anything thin and sharp?
Asbjørn
Tape. Take a 1-2 inch long piece of tape and press one end on a corner of the protector. Then pull
I can't get my screenprotector removed...not even with tape
Hate screen protectors. Don't use them. My nephew has a Jam which is years old and hasn't had a protector. NO screen scratches -- only a little dullness where the SIP keyboard is but that buffs out in seconds once a year using Displex. No scratches from keys even though it's subject to some abuse and the casing is scratched and dented. Thus I myself have no crap on my P3600's screen.
Im not a fan of cases or screen protectors, but I got 1 for my p3600. Its pretty good, I just wish it was about 2mm wider, since the left edge doesnt quite go till the very end of the screen which is annoying.
I got my screen protector from 'Javoedge.com' , it cost me about £8.50 but it is worth every penny.
It is cut to the exact size of the Trinity screen and fits really well. It is so thin that it slides beneath the White plastic case of my Trinity and the screen itself, so there are no edges of the screen protector to be seen.
I agree that you must take your time when installing it to try and get the edges straight, but when it's on it fits and looks great.
I opted for the super clear version and not the anti-glare version.
Great product!
Invisible shield from ShieldZone.com
I'm using an "Invisible Shield" from ShieldZone.com for my P3600. At the time I got mine, it didn't exist any pre-cut version for the P3600, so I ended up with a pre-cut TyTN shield, since they have the same screen size.
The first 2-3 days the result wasn't that good as I had some bubbles under the shield, but they disappeared after some days.
Watch the demo videos on ShieldZone.com, and I guess you will be as impressed as I'm with this shield.

Hi people.
I am soon gonna be a happy owner of a Trinity and i will definately buy a screen protector for my device. Can you please give me your opinion on different brands you have tried? What brand would you recommend buying?
Thanks
I have a Brando one that they now market as a P3600 version.
It sticks to the screen with static so no glue or residue if you remove it. Also this means it is washable too. The static provides more than enough force to keep it on the screen. In fact it is stuck fast. Only by pulling a piece of tape stuck to it by both ends will remove it.
My only problem is more with screenprotectors in general. Since they add extra thickness to the screen they do affect the sensitivity of the touchscreen. So for a while you will write with the stylus and you wont be using enough force. You get used to it, but it would still be nicer to find a thinner membrane.
Mine is a Clear Touch Crystal from Boxwave. I've used Boxwave's products for years and found them to have very high durability and quality. The screen looks like it has nothing on it at all when the device is on. I find that it actually seems to improve touchscreen accuracy and feel.
The only problem I have had with screen protectors in general is that if they are cut too close to the borders of the screen, that is, if they fit too well, they seem to interfere with the screen's ability to detect taps. I think it is interfering with the digitizer. Every time I have installed a protector PERFECTLY leaving no gaps on any side, the screen stops responding until I remove the protector and reinstall it with the edges trimmed in about 1 mm on all sides. I don't think that you need to have all edges trimmed, but I do it for uniformity's sake.
Hope this helps someone who gets a protector and then thinks they broke their device by installing it like I did my first time.......ahhh to be young again.....
@olsenbjo
Does the Invisible Sheild cover the entire device, or just the screen?
Thanks!

Screen Protector for Fuze

Anyone know where to buy one? I'd like one similiar to the one that came with it that covers up the entire screen area with a cut out for the speaker... and curved corners...
I bent a corner on the one that came with it and have some dust/etc that I can't seem to get rid of...
Martin Fields makes excellent screen protectors, though the one that came with it is pretty good quality. If yours is messed up though then I'd check them out. I had one on my Tilt for about a year and it still looks great.
Just look up touch pro on their site.
I'll second Martin Fields, or Boxwave. I had the boxwave on my 8525 for 1 year, then moved it to my 8925 for a year. It barely shows any Solitare scratches when turned off and viewing at an angle, you can't see the scratches at all when turned on! This was on the AntiGlare...
Martin fields does NOT have one for fuze but does for HTC Touch Pro, but interestingly the diagram shows no front-camera hole which should be great for fuze too. Has anyone used it for the fuze? does it come in 2 pieces and how good is it?
here is a ebay link to a great screen protector for the Fuze...I bought a 3 pack back in January and still have the 1st one on. Great quality....here is link:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Fabu-Stores_?_sid=17218646&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14&_pgn=3
Martin Field's Touch Pro screen protector is incredibly clear. It doesn't have a cut out hole for the front camera, which fits perfectly on my Fuze. They have also included a protector for the hard keys under the touch screen. As of right now, I can say that I am very satisfied. I would definitely recommend Martin Field.
I know it's a bit pricier, but I am a fan of the Invisible Shield: http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-fuze-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php.
Basically the last protector you will need, plus you can get one to be just over the screen, or a full cover for the full phone. They are custom made for the actual phone or device you have, and will protect it well, fit the device, and protect it. Also rarely get dirt or dust in it.

I love my Invisible shield on every part of my phone except for the screen. In my opinion the material of the shield is to sticky for the screen, and causes some problems with using the stylus and sometimes your finger doesn't slide very well across it.
Just my opinion!
Thanks
JFlitt
i will like to see some pictures of the phones with martin fields and boxwave screen protectors please
I'd like to know about the boxwave and the martin fields regarding how well your finger can slide. The invisible shield is horrible for this...Yes its indestructable but not finger friendly.
Screen protectors
I'm another fan of the Invisible Shield by Zagg. It resists cat claws on the screen (w/o a scratch), doesn't need replacing ever, and I haven't had any issues with the stylus or fingers through the invisible shield. I guess it just depends on your fingers!
Yeh im personally not a big fan of the invisible shield. Have used it on a iPhone as well as a HTC Touch Diamond and have found that it works well on a capacitive screen but when it came to the HTC Touch Diamond which uses a resistive touch screen, it didn't work well at all.
The invisible shield has a squishy like texture which makes it a little difficult when in use with a stylus. I've upgrade to a HTC Touch Pro and decided to go back to a normal screen protector. I purchased the Exilim SPOC Screen Protector from eBay and have never been happier. Like the invisible shield, it doesnt scratch... quick and easy to apply without having to use any liquids and drying time. Just my preference...

Best screen protector?

Zagg Invinsible shield?
Brando?
CP SCREEN PROTECTOR?
Other?
Which one is least visible and leaves no bubbles?
Expert Shield is by far the best i have come across.
shouldn't this be posted in Blackstone accessories ?
The best screen protector is BRANDO protector,
always buying this and definitely the best.
Durable, you can wash them and reuse, etc...

Hey ,
This one works realy fine for me . Not the easiest to put on.
But seems indistructible and washable.
And looks very cool on my Blackstone.

better think twice before using a mirrored screen protector! yes they do look cool, but the glare makes the hd impossible to use outside or in bright light conditions (much worse than normal), and occasionally frustrating in normal light. they also magnify fingerprints and smudges horribly. i'm constantly rubbing mine against my shirt to clean it
i bought a pack of two and gave one to my daughter and it didnt last the day before she pulled it off. i'm considering a brando non-mirrored in the next week or two.. i really dont like it. ifyour in a dimly lit office all day, it might work for you
Vikuiti DQC160 3M Screen Protector for HTC Touch HD, by far the best screen protector i have used. Not even one scratch after 2 months and very easy aplication.

This might be a stupid question, but that screen protector isn't on the us version of amazon. Google will not translate the page either... Therefore, how does a non-dutch speaking person order one of these?
I really like 3m products.. Anyone?
I'm quite happy with EXIM screen protectors :

My vote goes to Brando crystal clear - very good, can't see it there, and touch is the same.

I have tried almost all the above mentioned screen protectors but Martin fields and i can say with pride that if you want your device to last for years looking same GO for INVISIBLE SHIELD. With brando, you have to change every few month otherwise the scratches start to appear on the protector
Yeah, but the Invisible Shield just looks so bleh. No way to get the film to fit flush along the border of the screen where it meets the body of the phone. The film just floats in that area, basically creating a void that appears as an air bubble along the whole perimeter of the screen.
They really weren't thinking when they made the cut for that film. No reason not to have made one dedicated piece for the screen, separate from the side of the phone body. If they took one second to have actually looked at the phone itself, they would have realized this.
It does help give a better grip/handle on the phone, due to the silicon material. However, it just looks ... eh. Certainly not invisible. At all. It does change the look of the phone. Looks much cheaper. But I guess scratches'll do that too.
That silicon material also changes the feel of interacting with the touch screen. It does have some give to it. So it feels like you get more compression as the stylus sinks into it. And your fingers/stylus will not glide as easily as you might expect for this type of input method. It's not a hindrance, per se, but it will be different.
Installed the front and the bottom piece. Stopped there. Didn't want that glossy rubber-like material covering the flat-black rubber-tone finish of the back cover and the brushed aluminum finish surrounding the lens.
Would really like a dedicated film for the screen that kept the same physical feel of the screen - more like a glassy/plastic film - and a separate one that protected all the glossy black lacquer finished pieces.
The Zagg Invisible Shield is rubbish. It tries to cover the screen and the chrome bits around the screen with the same piece, so it doesn't fit as well as it should

I guess you got the limited bling edition.
are there any anti-glare screen protector around, like the iphone one? Been searching around but couldn't find any, would be good if there are plans for it.
there are many, almost all manufactures have a clear and a non-reflecting version. I use Exim crystal clear protector and Im very, very happy!! I have it since the first days I bought my blackstone (I bought it on November, 21st) and it lasts until now, without any issue!! I'm using my phone full-time, about 6 hours a day, non-stop, so I think this is a really good protection! and it looks like it's not there so, decide yourself, the problem with non-reflective ones is, that you have not such a clear view, but it's only minimal. For me anyway, I need to have a very clear one, cause I'm most of the time inside buildings and I want for watching movies, have absolute clear screen^^ that's it

thanks... but when i clicked to add one to the basket, google stopped translating, so i was stuck. so i ordered a brando protector. the mirrored one was way cool and very impressive, but i drive a lot, and it made my hd unusable when the sun was out. so bad that i pulled it off and my hd is unprotected untill the brando arrives

LeEco Pro 3, anyone using it withou ANY screen protector?

The stock screen protector is rubbing off so I replaced it with a new one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N3ZTMLG/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Unlike the stock one, this one is the hard glass. (the stock one is a film).
The problem with this screen protector is that it is a grease/finger print magnet. Ususally I can remove the grease/finger print from the screen by rubbing it on my shirt. With this one, it just moves the finger print grease around. No my shirt is not greasy because I tried it on another phone and it didn't smear the grease around. The only way to get a clean screen is if I use a micro fiber clothe with some water. Also I noticed that my screen is not as bright as before with the new screen protector, especially when using it outdoors.
I was thinking about remove the screen protector all together. Since our phone has Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, it "should" be fine. But before I remove the new screen protector, just wondering if anyone is going bare on the screen and if they have any issues with scratched screen.
Thanks
I haven't had any screen protector on my phone since october. Screen is fine, although I haven't dropped my phone.
I have been using the same screen protector which i bought from aliexpress and i can feel the brightness problem but i am fine with it since this tmp glass removes entirely the ugly black borders from the phone.
I dont know if there is a good color tempered glass which does both.
Just removed the aftermarket screen protector today and going bare. So far it seems fine and resistant to scratches as well. It feels a lot better than the stock screen protector or the aftermarket one. It is a lot brighter and really smooth. Another thing that I noticed is that it is a lot more sensitive to the touch.
Never used any sort of screen protector on my phones. Never a single scratch.
As long as you do not put any other items in a pocket with a phone, it should be fine.
I have tried 3-4 different screen protectors and none of them seem to stick properly. They never want to stick on either (or both) the left and right sides of the screen. idk what the issue is but I've never had that problem on other phones
I'm too afraid to not use any screen protector. The camera lens scratches so easily that I don't trust the glass at all.

I Have the same problem. While the screen protector is ok and protects the phone, it catches fingerprints and the most anoying thing, outside it reflects everything and I can't see very well. I didn't find any matte or anti-glare tempered glass screen for le pro 3. Only iphone and something else. If anyone finds something good post a link please.

It has been a week now since I removed all screen protector and I am happy that I did it. It feels so much better and I can say that the gorilla glass on this is legit. I work in a warehouse and I have my keys and a box cutter in my pockets. I try to keep them away from my phone but when you are moving fast, sometimes the box cutter ends up in the same packet as my phone. So far still no scratch on the screen.
I'm still keeping mine, even if reflects everything because on my old phone covered with full cover, front and back, dropped on a corner of the screen, the screen protector took the fall and broke instead of the actual screen. So better to be cautios.
Mine came with a screen protector (X727), but I ripped it off very quickly. I haven't broken a single smartphone yet.
No screen protector since day one. No case either. Dropped it few times and cosmetic glass around camera cracked. Front screen is pristine, which is surprising since I am not careful with it.

Found these cases on Amazon that provide screen protection. I have used similar cases on other devices and have had good luck in preserving the screen without the use of a screen protector:
kw mobile canvas case
kw mobile cover shell case
Never used any screen protector on my smartphones, since my first Sony Ericson P800 years before the first iPhone were released...
Never broke the screen, had a few small scratches on some of them (not all though), and I usually keep my devices for 3 to 4 years. My previous phone was a Samsung Note 2, the screen is still perfect.
I will not put any screen protector on my Le Pro 3 either...
I was using the stock screen protector which was preinstalled until today. Sand scratched it so I removed it.

Same problem for me.I think its because of the curve of the screen
I got the full coverage one from aliex, no problems with adhesion, but it's an awfull magnet for smudges and fingerprints, and dulls the colors of the screen, gonna run it a few days just for kicks, but I'll remove it for sure.
And oh, havent had a screen protector, not since day one, and no problems, not a scratch on my phone (I do take care of my gadgets though)

I removed screen protector today. Got sick of dust and other sht all around due to corners of glass not adhering properly. The phone looks much better, so far so good.
Just in case try to avoid keeping it with keys etc. Also check this .
