HTC Incredible LED + Sound notification bugs? - Droid Incredible General

has anyone else noticed that when you recieve a sms/mms/email or w/e the sound plays through the phone even if you have headphones plugged in? So annoying to be in a library with your headphones on and txting thinking the sound will come through headphones when its not, :|
second issue is with LED Notification. I thought for the longest time it didn't work but it turns out the LED notification is the same LED used for charging; the tiny ass microscopic one that you can barely see, making LED notification retarded. There are two LEDs on the left side of the Incredible they appear to be a large blue and red LED, anyone know what these are for? I thought the LED notification would work on those LEDs, I need something bright that I can actually see for LED notification.

I don't know how this would work wiht a plugged in headset but I purchased Tell2Me for around $2.00, which works very well for blue-tooth headsets. When my headset is on, the phone/text/email is announced and read through my headset. They even have an option of voice reply.
As for the notification lights... I believe they are small because many people complained they were too big/bright and ugly. I know with many of my past HTC phones, I disabled them because they were so bright, they would light up my entire room at night.
The two "lights" you mentioned are actually light and proximity sensors.

No audio notification for new SMS when earphones are plugged in.

Just want to check whether anyone else have the same problem as me.
When I plug in the HTC-supplied earphones, it won't beep through the speakers when a new SMS comes in, instead, it beeps through the earphones. I usually connects the earphones when I'm driving in case I have to pick up any calls but I don't stick 'em in my ears all the time, so I end up not knowing whenever a new message comes in, which is pretty annoying. But the speaker rings just fine with an incoming call with the earphones connected, no problems there whatsoever.
Anybody have any idea how to fix the problem so that the phone throws out a new message audio alert through the speakers (when the earphones are connected)?
Nobody else having the same problem??

Well yes ive noticed it does that, but i hadn't noticed it as a problem..... Bit of annoyance i'll wager, but then you shouldnt be reading texts when driving anyway, its far more dangerous than talking on a headset, perhaps thats why?..... hehe
Finally!! I thought I was the only one having this problem!
Well, it's true that I shouldn't be reading text while driving but surely it's fine to read my text replies when I'm stopped at a red light?
Anyway, receiving a reply is probably one of the best way to confirm that my previous outgoing text didn't get stuck in the outbox.
Hehe yea, I get ya. Just playing devils advocate.
It does seem a rather strange decision.
I do however have a workaround for you, even if it is pretty grim.
Start the fm radio, activate loudspeaker, then mute the radio. Hey presto new message tone comes out of the main speaker.
I havent tested to see what effect that has on using the headset for calls, I dont drive so it's not a priority, but might be worth looking at if it is that important to you.
Edit - well it certainly still rings through teh earphones when in this state..... further testing i'll let you do.

same problem.
dont know, what i can do.
im not sure about when headphones are plugged in but sometimes i don't receive notifications when headphones aren't plugged in
Different version, yes, *problem*
This also applies to calls. I have my headphones in and walk away from the phone. It doesn't ring when the headset is plugged in! So, I constantly miss calls. Anyone have an idea about how to make it ring on the device when the headphones are plugged in???? (I really don't think it makes sense that I have a whole new discipline of plugging and unplugging the headphones all day long!)
/P

Problem: Hearing SPEAKER stopped working!!!

After turning on all tweaks for LED Notification indicators, i received a phone call and in the middle of my conversation my hearing speaker went off with LED light. Performed hard reset twice, nothing happened. Now, LED doesn't blink and hearing speaker dosen't work AT ALL. PLEASE HELP!!! I just got HTC HD2, USA T-Mobile version
When I charge my phone, LED is lightning up, but hearing speaker still doesn't work!!
How to turn back original setting for LED indicator?

No notification LED while on mute after 5.0

So since the 5.0 update whenever I have my phone on silent the blinking blue led no longer activates to indicate I have a message, email, missed call etc. I've tested this and it still works correctly while on vibrate or sound.
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to make it work again?
I'm running stock, unrooted OTA from verizon

I have no idea what Google could have been thinking to want to completely change how notifications and silent vib ring are supposed to interact. Light Flow kind of patches things together, kind of. Timerific is screwed up, any sound, ringer, vib widgets no longer work. The "priority interruption" nonsense is so limited in it's function that you can't use it and it seems that's what all of the changes were supposed to be for. Every time i go into a meeting i wonder what kind of unexpected noises are going to come out of my phone!
So, try Light Flow, LED works when phone is silent.

Charging sound notification sound hack?

Does anyone know of a way to activate the charging notification sound? Not for wireless charging but for regular charging. There is an option to check it under sound, other, but it does nothing. In the past, I used to use my favorite charging notification sound, but it looks like newer android versions had done away with it for some reason. I'd very much like to know if anyone knows a way to bring it back.
I use the MacroDroid app to have my MXPE vibrate when plugging it into power (like my old LG G4 used to.) You might see if they have some sound notification options in there too. It is a free app for your first 5 macros. If you want more then it is some small amount. I'm sure Tasker could do it, but I was never good at writing the macros.
I use Trigger.

Android 7.0 Nougat Notification Bug

There is bug in nougat, Under settings -> notifications, if turning off "sound and vibrations" for an app, the notification LED light does not report notifications.
Currently there is no way to have sound and vibrate turned off and use LED as notification. To use the LED notification, sound+vibrate+peek must be turned on. SUCKS. This was not an issue in 6.0.1
every update they make worse and worse also if they fix something they ruin something else
only in 3 last build tried to fix sound balance made worse(the upper speaker is much better so they down grade him for balance :\, update after that they ruin charging (at least for me i cant turn off charge optimization after last 6.0.1 update ..
Same problem is related also to Whatsapp, I have removed audio and vibration notification for groups chat, and set led to light blue, but light blue led never blink, it blink white for single chat but just because there is the audio and vibration notification activated for single chat.
Yes, seems to be affecting all applications, including WeChat, LINE and WhatsApp.

That's a shame: long awaited and buggy upgrades from Sony... Especially with LED notification which was a major reason why I chose Sony...

Thx to the solution of Jilbert.. Download the silence.mp3
Put the file in system / media / audio / notifications & ringtones
This works for me
Fingerprint recognition
At least they have fixed the fingerprint recognition. Now it's as fast as iPhone and faster than Samsung
