really... i don't think so....

ill test this in about an hour

It would be great if the update is out but am wondering is its the MR1 ther person is talking about instead of MR2

wow. even if the update was out. more mind blowing thing is this guy is a member since 2004 and this is his first post.

no update, just checked

No update for Sweden either, mind you today was a holiday here as well.

I think the update will be announced here when available:
http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/

No update showing up on my end.

The reason I have never posted is because I never had anything of interest to contribute to the Forum.
And being debunked just because of that is not very nice. Here are some screenshots......

thanks for the info, more screenshots please?

Here are some more screenshots as requested. If you require any particular screenshot, just let me know.

thanks a lot, in your opinion, is the device faster and stable than before? I see a new HTC type panel too?

I had a lot of problems when I first ran it. I installed SPB Mobile shell 3.5 and Mobile Sense 3.5 and the phone was very, very unstable.
After 3 rebuilds I ended up just putting on Mobile Sense, and the phone is very stable now.
Everything seems to load much faster and smoother than the previous version. But as for "Stability", will have to see over the next few days how much improvement has been made.

EDIT: Got the Mobile Sense now. Will try and install. Thanks

Can you confirm if the bugs have been fixed? Mainly the notifiations and the keyboard lag?

New Version Of Opera Mobile Today 2008-10-20

I just wandered over to the site to look for the heck of it and check it out!
Last updated: 20.10.2008
http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/
Awesome trying it now, Been running the 2325 build that was from the diamond I think which was pretty sweet as it got rid of that stupid out of memory error. Been running great on my titan thus far. Will try this one see if anything has been improved or changed.
Thanks for the update!
P.S. Mozilla should be coming out very shortly as well!!! Also very excited to see how well that one runs!!
update: Well after using the beta 2 update. I still get the nice out of memory error after browsing the Neverwinter Nights 2 forums with a second tab open as well as other news sites. Never encountered this error with the 2392 build. Oh well. Back to that build until they fix this stupid error.
Can anyone else give their opinion on the new Opera Mobile? I haven't tried it yet. I was curious if it was better than Opera Mini and/or Skyfire.
It still seems too bulky for this device...it's better than IE, but Opera Mini beats in by a long shot. Still no flash either.
I think Opera Mini is by far the best browser ever. Obviously has its limitations... But when it comes to speed, its unbeatable. I can happily surf 4chan and jj.am, as well as any other website.

Sure let me see what I can whip up! I'll edit this post and put in a link when I am done.
Here is the orignal link to the post. It was posted by one of our fellow ever helpful XDA users phouki. Credit goes to him for different cab builds and information!
Clicky click!
Oh okay. I have never used one of the many builds from the diamond. How stable is it?
Which build do you use for the Mogul? That might be just a little helpful to include

MUCH more stable on our devices than the official Beta builds.

Well I use it everyday to surf and read new sites / forums including this one and excluding the load times it takes for opera servers to convert and realign the formats it's quite solid. I also am a mogul user and this is the build I use incase anyone was curious if I was even a fellow mogul user.

New Facebook app from WM 6.5

found this in another thread, for X1 users this works great and gives a slightly better experience than the panel

Yes, been running it for a few days on my X1 with no problems.
Prefer this one over the panel too, allows me to do other tasks and leave it running in the background
Ya, this is really awesome! I can't believe i can do so much without using Opera!
wm6.5 is out??
It's not bad but it doesn't refresh like it should so you find there are posts, status updates, photos and all sorts of stuff missing from the news feeds.
Here too. And it's not updateing my status. But, overall, it,s ok.

I believe the updates are staggered so your connection isn't flooded with continuous updates, although when i refreshed it seemed fairly fast. WM 6.5 Beta is out, they pulled the link on XDA after M$ complained that their CAB had sneaked onto the net. FYI, i did a search and haven't found it anywhere... but i'm waiting for 7 anyways... not a Honeycomb Kid, myself.
Just a note to say this app has been updated, and is now officially out. It has fixed a few things, such as being unable to refresh your own wall, but frustratingly a few bugs still exist (for me anyway). Get it here: http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=74767568466&h=HojHN&u=0JC5r&ref=mf

There are a tons of WM 6.5 ROM's out there, 6.5 is far more than a CAB, even though it isn't much more than 6.1. The honeycomb is long gone too. Titanium is really the best part, kinda makes panels, TF3D, anything else obsolete.

fyi,
good news: you can comment on statuses now.
bad news: you can't see other people's comments on statuses (nor even if there are any) without clicking on the status, going to their profile and then changing to the wall tab.
am i the only one that primarily uses facebook for commenting on statuses and reading other people's comments? pain in the arse!
i have lost kinetic scrolling from the beta to the offical rom.
has anyone got kinetic scrolling?

2.1 Finally on friday ?

I thought I read on here that the update is going to be in two stages, one preparing the phone and the other giving us 2.1 which was pushed back to June. Maybe this is just the crappy update.
I don't believe that bull****. Just another rumor.
Also can someone enlighten me what the hell means this: "and could cause seizures in small pets" ?

that's crazy talk
Anyway I was asking myself :
Assuming that almost every member/reader of this forum would have tried at least once to install a custom ROM on their Hero, what to expect from the Official 2.1 update ?
Will I be sticking with it ? Will I wait for Villain/Kimera/other ports ? Assuming also that custom Roms will never be 100% stable...
Because from my experience with custom roms (and I've installed A LOT of them on A LOT of devices), it's allways about finding a compromise between speed and stability...
Yep, it's wednesday morning and I really don't wanna get to work...
I think when this 2.1 update comes out (probably won't happen soon, not even friday, as we all know HTC) this only may help custom modders in the stability of their roms, nothing else I'm guessing.
Wouldn't that be the Sprint Hero anyway?

Hmmmm,.... Well I haven't had the experience of swapping and changing ROMs on my Hero,... But having had it for about 2-3 months now, I'm still 100% happy with the speed and stability of the ROM I flashed to it on day 1, ... MCR3.2. I think I'v had 3 or 4 application force closes, and only had it freeze up forcing a re-boot ONCE!!!
I'm sure the custom 2.1's will be just as stable once we get the official ROM to use as a base.

Yes, I would assume so.
I'm not really looking for a more stable 2.1 rom. I just want the speed that is in the 1.5 roms. Since i've heard the 2.1 should be faster the the previous versions I have high hopes får the official release and that the dev can make the most out of it.

So it wouldn't change anything, would it? I mean, don't we already have ROMs made from the Sprint Hero leak?
Hopefully this news would be true. I'm also looking forward to 2.1 rombut not because of its new capability but actually for developers in enhancing making the 2.1 rom using overclocked method

Same here
Hope that devs wil make some nice looking and fast rom out of it.
And no way i;m flashing it on my G2. Lucky that the gold card procedure worked out for me.

I just really hope the battery life will improve.
Current 2.1 ROMs are already quick and stable enough for me, I wish the battery would last longer though. Aside from that, there are only a few minor bugs in most 2.1 ROMs that are currently out there, which do not really bother me.
Its not the 2.1 ROMS that are the problem its all down to the Kernel, which no1 has!surely if it was coming soon then it would have leaked somehow!
if you follow the link from the article it says sprint hero...

Yeah I wouldnt mind hearing from someone that came from say CM5 to the latest stock Froyo. Is it better? Is it worth flashing now seeing as how CM6 is about a week or so away?
I would try it now myself, but I can't give up the dumb little things. (such as trackball wake)
I've used every CM version and every leaked version of Froyo. I was surprised that the final Froyo release seemed faster and smoother than FRF83. The browser seems really fast now and app switching is great thanks to JIT. I like my FRF85B Froyo final setup right now more than I did CM5.0.8. I can't wait for CM6 though.
Super. Wonderful. Amazing. Thank you Google and anyone else on the OHA that contributed to this.
It's great. I love it. I love it even more when someone hands me a HTC Touch Pro2 with Windows Mobile on it... Microsoft shouldn't even be in the mobile business. They should leave it to the experts. It was sad.
If you ever get a chance to put your hands on Windows Mobile... do it. It will make you appreciate your Android phone more than when you bought it.

Look at my sig pic, WM is all I ever used for years. I dabbled with android with emulators on my Fuze, then finally made the jump when the N1 was released. After using it for 1 day, I was emotional.

I don't think the JIT would have much impact on app switching. The highmem kernel OTOH makes a huge difference. My launcher was always relaunching when switching from big apps such as the browser or navigation. Since upgrading to froyo I haven't seen the launcher restart once.

Yeah you are probably right. I just thought I read somewhere that JIT had benefits for loading apps, it might have just been for 3rd party apps because JIT converts to native code before processing (something like that).

The JIT actually wouldn't have any impact on loading times. The standard interpreted code is always run initially. It's only once the app starts running that the JIT is able to locate frequently accessed blocks of code that would benefit from compiling to native code.

I too have used CyanogenMod since I had my G1. I DID play with, and greatly enjoy the Froyo ROM when it was released by PaulObrien.
But I did miss some of Cyanogens special additions, so I went back to it a few weeks ago.
Now with the latest Froyo out, I may change over - AGAIN!

hahaha, funny you mentioned that.
A co-worker of mine approached me, and said he bought this Android™ phone from a friend. He heard that I know about Android, rooting, apps, etc. so he had some questions for me. He hands me the phone, and I was thrilled to hold this LARGE HTC DEVICE in my hand. I haven't held an EVO, yet, so imagine my joy!!! My first time ya know so I was honored.
It was branded T-MOBILE though ... hhmm, this can't be right!!! It should say Sprint!!!
After seeing the homescreen and tapping/flicking/swiping for all of 1.0 seconds, I handed it back to him and told him he has a Windows Mobile device - NOT ANDROID, and boy oh boy, was he pissed!!!! LMAO
Poor guy!
"If you ever get a chance to put your hands on Windows Mobile... do it. It will make you appreciate your Android phone more than when you bought it."
I let him play with my Nexus for a few minutes. He offered to buy it from me for $450 .... nuh uh homeboy! This is my baby!

Up-to-date HTC Desire HD Rom list

Hi guys,
Just a little refresher in case people didn't know about my HTC Desire HD ROMs list.
It has been going for over 2 years now and I've noticed recently that there's still quite a bit of development, so some of you who don't know about it might find it useful.
It's regularly updated.
In case it helps.
Thanks

update your recovery to 4EXT (4ext Recovery) or TWRP (TWRP) and you will able to flash kitkat rom.
