Bug for vibrate on SMS/MMS/Email notification - Droid Incredible General

Hey Guys,
So I've been absolutely loving my htc incredible thus far. However, just recently I wanted to have my phone only vibrate for SMS notifications when I realized it wasn't vibrating at all.
I've been through all the settings of Messaging > Settings > check vibrate and such. Also going to sounds and display > only to find nothing really for vibrate and nothing helped in there. I also have tried turning down to vibrate only and ALSO selecting vibrate mode from holding the power button. BUT NOTHING IS WORKING! I've searched on google and through here and haven't found anything but some fixes for the moto droid with third party apps. I'm thinking this is an android bug.
Any takers? Thanks.

I FOUND THE FIX.
It requires the third party app HOWEVER you don't need to keep it.
Go to the market and download an app called "Sound Manager" by Daniel Roozen.
Once downloaded, launch the app, press menu, go to vibrate settings and there should be two options.
BOTH should be onto vibrate whenever possible. The bottom one was set to don't vibrate and was most likely set by another app I had previously downloaded.
My phone now vibrates when it should be.

Thank you so much man. That worked!

You're welcome! I think it's a bug via the software. Please spread the fix! It's helped a lot of people over at android central.

Everything I could see was ticked to vibrate...dunno which app had caused it to stop but this sorted it. Ta again....

SMS Notifications don't Vibrate

For some reason, none of my SMS programs will vibrate even when I tell them to... SMS Pop-up, CHOMPSMS and the default messaging won't vibrate. The Missing Call app in the market will vibrate though so anyone have an idea as to what the problem is?
mine is the same way. don't understand it. seems to have started with the update
I have noticed with the newest (5.0.1 and 5.0.2) update from cyanogen whenever I flash either his ROM (or my theme which uses his ROM as a base) that I have to go into the messaging app and re-check the vibrate option.
Weird - this occurs on mine also on all messaging apps. I have rooted with the new update (not the newest one that isn't OTA yet). Any advice?
Anyone have any fixes? I noticed that notifications for other apps don't vibrate as well; Gmail and mobile package tracker specifically.
i found a solution by trolling other forums. install 'sound manager' from the market. open it, hit the menu soft key, and select the vibration settings option. when that opens, set it up however you want. tested it, and now i have vibration with sms again! sounds like it is some extra work, but whatever. it works
You are my hero! that fixed it!

it happened to me once .. I did a Clear Storage (aka Hard Reset) via fastboot (hold down volume + power) and it WORKED.

go to messaging, press menu, settings, all the way at the bottom, vibrate.

oooo crap that's true... oo wait, IT DOESN'T WORK...
no, it didn't work for me, and doesn't for several people. the sound manager app fixed it. trust me. try it out.
Use handcent lol, Vibrate works great for me lol.
Confirmed - issue occurs on ANY rom as soon as Handcent is installed. Sound board or wipe is only way to resolve.
sound manager app fixes. see my post above

Notification LED Timeout

Hello guys,
I am trying to help a friend set up his Wildfire as he is new to android.
His biggest problem is the missed call / sms notification led. When he has a missed call, or a new sms the led notification lights up for five minutes and then turns off. Is it possible to leave the alert led on until he interacts with it?
The phone is brand new and still running the stock rom
Any help would be apreciated.

Just search for 'LED Me Know' on this Forum / GetJar. It should help.
I have used it personally, however, in the latest edition, theres a bug, that even after you have interacted with your phone, it keeps the notification LED on randomly. However, previously, I used v1.06, and, it worked flawlessly.

Thanks very much for responding,
I have tried both missed call and led me know, but they both time out after 5 minutes.
Am i missing something?
That's weird. Because I distinctly remember in my case, when I used it, the LED would keep blinking for hours at one go, till I checked the notification.
Did you try enabling 'Compatibility Mode' in the App Settings?

Hey 3xeno,
Thanks for responding.
Compatibility mode seems to be greyed out in my phone and i cannot select it.
Should the phone be rooted?
Thanks

No, it doesnt require root. One more thing comes to my mind, did you disable the stock ROM's option to flash the Notification LED?
Menu > Settings > Display > Notification LED
And GMail LED Notifications from GMail > Settings > More Settings
If, even after doing this, you cannot enable compatibility mode, refer the original thread of the app here and contact the developer, as he says:

Good Luck

[Q] Note 3 Keeps beeping every 5 Minutes

I just got my phone on Thursday and everything seems to work fine with the exception that I get the default beep of it every 5 minutes but without any visual notifications.
This is what I have done so far to remedy the problem:
- Uninstalled/Deleted the email app(since there is a similar problem on the GS3)
- went through every menu on the settings menu and found nothing
- changed the default sound - the beep changed the sound as well
- went into task manager and looked which apps could cause the issue
- went through gmail settings and looked if it is found there
Any help would be really appreciated since this is driving me nuts.

I appreciate you help but I also have this problem with my Note 3 and I am getting this sound when I have not received any message of any sort!
I have spent ages going round and round in configurations but the only setting I have found is in "accessibility" and that allows you to switch off notifications. I understand that this will only stop the reminder from sounding when I actually have a message but this is very useful so I wouldn't like to lose this feature.
Can you give me any help and also show me hoe to get to the screens you suggest.
Thanks
I have to say why do we even have that button? Lol

It's under Acessibility, in the Vision section. It shoes "Notification Reminder" and when you activate it...you get a beep every 5 minutes if there is a notification.

Lollipop Notifications - Snooze - Long Press (How to restore)

Hello all
I seem to have a spot of bother, I had two notifications on my device.
I Long Pressed the notification until the screen changes, Giving you a option to Snooze or press the little "i" button.
When you press Snooze, how the hell do you get your notification back?
I use Rotation to force all into Landscape.
I done the Snooze on the apps notification, and i cannot get it to re-appear, I use the notification as a quick toggle to change from Force to Auto
I also done it on ShareKM
and i cannot get neither of them Back.
Even when i go to:
Settings / Sound & Notification / App Notifications
WHen i configure to allow Heads up etc, Still nothing.
Not even after a reboot.
Its obviously not a Snooze button, its more of a Here hide this notification FOREVER!!!
Anyway has anyone got a little more experience with how this works?
I dont want to have to re-flash for the sake of 2 notifications lol

Bumping because I'm having the same problem on my lg g2 with resurrection remix lollipop rom. Feels like I've tried everything with no success.

Nope never found a fix. I eventually just re flashed the ROM because I disabled SMS notifications and didn't have a choice. Now I'm being very careful around that button.

Bummer, guess that will be me as well
unsnoozing notifications
I suppose this is too late, but perhaps it can help someone else. I found the option to remove the notification snooze (or filter) under privacy.
Go to settings, privacy, and then filter notifications. You'll need to delete the app in the list. I had to reboot for my changes to take effect.

Hi, have you checked the settings to make sure it's not silent? Check my screen shot. You'd have to tap where it says silent.

Would you like me to take a look remotely ? If yes, pm me
Is there a "Do Not Disturb" setting in Sounds and Notifications? I don't have mine yet, so I can't check for myself. but that has tripped my up a few times on my HTC 10.
If Do Not Disturb is not on, look for a setting called "Smart settings".... it is under General > Smart Functions [Label] > Smart Settings.... if you set the home screen settings to enable the Smart Bulletin Screen you can also get to it from there
Appreciate the replies folks..I just downloaded Textra, but the stock messaging App is still silenced
Same problem

I figured it would be a matter of time before someone else chimed in with the same problem..I still haven't found a solution other than a new app for messaging..
Went to t mobile today. They did a warranty swap for.me. LG told.me.to.send it to them for as service after factory reset did not work.

Maybe I'll do the same cause I'd rather not use textra
This is a feature of android 7.0. When you receive the message, swipe down from the top to show your notifications, press and hold the messaging notification and then you should get an option to select that states Don't silence. It's probably set to Show Notifications silently.
Thank you sir!!
