Android on OMAP Board and processors - Android Software Development

Hello,
Im wondering around and in very few times i found useable android builds outside the QUALCONM(xdandroid) processors and even MARVEL Processors(Androimia).
Today i found this site.
http://www.mistralsolutions.com/assets/downloads/android.php
They say they port an stable and fullversion os android on amap devices(such htc touch, htc viva, touch 3g,etc..)
Can someone cleaver and corageus can check what is this and if its really work on omap phones.
Best,
Pedro Aragão

now Im wondering if I can Use the Trinity ROM for this phone " MWg Zinc II"
Im fairly familiar with ROM upgrading I just want to make sure it will work before I end-up having a broken non functioning phone thank you for the information.
Trinity spec
Trinity is not an Arm processor. And the processor it is sporting is clocked at 400mhz
This phone looks cool though

[QUESTION] Does the Blackstone implement the graphic drivers ?

Hi everyone,
I'm aware of the HTC graphical driver issues on theirs phones. I saw the benchmarks results of the Kaiser, Polaris, ... and they're sooooo poor compared to the Nokias' and iPhone's ones. That's so bad according to the possibilities of the hardware of these phones !
I also saw that HTC responded to HTCClassAction in January saying they're goin to implement the right drivers from that moment. It seems that("s not what happened.
I'm considering buying a HTC Touch HD aka Blackstone and I wish to know what I should expect from it. Does it implement the right driver ? I mean does it support hardware acceleration ?
I'm sad to say that but I have a KS20 which doesn't support PocketHAL and PointUI and I'm seriously considering buying an iPhone even if I HATE Apple's politics...
Can someone give me a straight and definitive answer about the Qualcomm/ATI driver support on the Blackstone ?? Or tell if there is an unofficial way to implement them through an alternative ROM or a simple CAB ?
Thanks a lot !

Are you asking from a purely technical/developer's point of view, or are you asking if the HD's graphic performance is better?
Well both in a way.
Technically speaking first coz I want to know what could work on the Blackstone from a PocketHAL UI like PoitUI to a full OpenGL ES game.
And in a second time if there is some evolutions since the Kaiser, Polaris or Diamond.
But first of all. It aksed a binary answer (yes or no) : does HTC had implemented a hardware acceleration or is it still a Microsoft software rendering ?
THANKS

nobody knows ?
It has hardware 3d acceleration of opengl es and mobile directx, but it implementation isn't as good as it could be i believe. I am no expert, and this info is what I have gleaned from these forums. Touchflo 3D uses hardware acceleration.
I have tried the game 'Toy Golf' on my phone, and it runs with accelerated graphics which appear smooth, but unfortunatley most of the rendering is corrupt or missing. I am not aware of any other 3D games to try.

HTC Touch/Vogue/Elf - GSM/CDMA Confusion

Hi
So I'm new to these forums and I have some questions.
I would like to run Android on my HTC Touch, but I'm not quite sure if it's possible. I started reading some threads but it's really confusing.
As far as I understand the HTC Touch and the Vogue are practically the same, except that the Touch is GSM, and the Vogue is CDMA. All of the tutorials that I find state that a CDMA Phone is needed, so I guess it's not possible to boot Android on a GSM?
So mine is a Regular HTC Touch, with a SIM Card, so it's a GSM Phone...
Is it possible to run Android on it, and how?
I hope you can help me.
Greets and thanks in advance.
The GSM version of the HTC Touch is known as the HTC Elf, while the CDMA version is known as the HTC Vogue
The Vogue has twice the ROM and RAM of the Elf (256mb ROM and 128mb RAM in the Vogue vs 128mb ROM and 64mb RAM in the Elf). The Vogue also has a 400mhz processor vs the 200mhz one in the Elf.
As for Android on your Elf, take a look at these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385129
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554479
The poster above is absolutely right. In fact, the only similar thing between the Vogue and the Elf is the outer body... the internals are completely different.
Thanks for these quick answers.
So basically Android on a HTC Elf is possible, but it's not really a smart thing to do ...
Why not a smart thing to do. Even I was thinking to load an Android ROM on my Vogue.

Vogue has no issues. Keep in mind that the build must match the device. HaReT basically is processor driven, which means that if you are not sending the right instructions to the right processor, it simply will not work. Why am I saying this? Processor for Vogue and Elf are different.

[Q] OS - Desire HD

Would it be possible to put a cooked WM ROM on Desire HD? I ask this because I plan to buy one and I only have experience with WM (on my Kaiser and HD2)...

i dnt think its possible..
since u have hd2, load up desire hd android build and start getting the feel of android.. Its not that complicated to get used to
...alternative?
Thanks jjblaster3. Considering this, is there a "best phone" which would "accept" both OS with decent, comparable performance?

currently HD2 ftw(thanks to the awesome beast, snapdragon processor)..
supporting 3 OS's; winmo, linux and hopefully soon to come windows phone 7..
notice that i used the term linux instead of android coz linux is general term for all the distro's (android, ubuntu, meego, etc)
currently only ubuntu and android are present but i heard people were starting to work on meego however no progress so far
ok, understood... but... the desire hd will also have a snapdragon processor, so is this the only reason?
The fact is, the HD2 was a gift for my wife and she seems to be happy with it, so I would need another device, hopefully with even better performances and flexibility concerning the usable OS (I am more "involved" in the technical domain, wishing also to try some programming/cooking)...

the fact that most of the other new android phones like the nexus one and evo 4g are based on snapdragon similar to hd2, makes porting drivers n all much simpler..
the fact that hd2 has a snapdragon, makes the performance quite similar (or shud i say better compared to all those other devices having msm 7*** processors, like the kaiser for example)
the desire hd snapdragon is abit different (i think its better) but well the android build runs perfectly well on hd2 (maybe that it just demands a bit more ram than other sense builds for its extra visual impressions, rotation support n all) but nothing that the hd2 cant handle
well i guess the current winmo phone out there with the best performance is the hd2..
i dont think they will get any better in terms of winmo (havent heard of any new devices apart from the chinese OBOE which is similar to hd2)
i cant say for sure if any of the future android or windows phone 7 devices will have the same fate (dual booting/triple booting OS's)
as for now i see no hope in android being capable of doing that (unless maybe its just dual booting linux, i read thats possible)
and as for windows phone 7, we just have to wait for its release first (if there's no delays its gonna b this month) and then for the devs at xda to try and find ways to make dual booting to android for it possible.. ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
so my suggestion would be to wait until you get to see all the possibilities among different varieties and then make the ultimate choice..
(as for me im stuck with the hd2 and wont b able to replace it anytime soon, just a 16 yr old student without a job so i consider myself lucky to even have 1, but my love for this phone increases day by day)
The Desire HD IS in some parts better than our beloved HD2 but for running another OS it's the best device so far! As mentioned you can boot Windows Mobile, Android and Ubuntu! Meego is a 'Work in Progress' and even Cotulla seems to have succesfully bootet Windows Phone 7 through his own bootloader! What other mobile device could handle so much OS's?
See, the Desire HD has a QSD8255 (45 nm), 768 MB RAM, 2 GB ROM, a 8 MP camera with 720p video recording and the new Adreno-205 GPU! The HD2 has a QSD8250 (65 nm), 576 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM (1024 for US model), 5 MB cam without 720p video recording! You see, the Desire HD HAS better hardware but our HD2 can handle the Android OS from Desire HD, you only need to look into the Android section for HD2! Only cam isn't working till now but it will in the future, I think!
Edit:
You can compare both devices here: HTC Desire HD and HTC HD2

Port HTC chacha android OS to HTC Snap?

I know that this question has been asked in the past… However… now with HTC chacha released in the market with an android OS.
I wonder how high is the possibilities to port android to Snap now? In terms of buttons i believe snap met the "4 buttons" requirement for android. Not sure about the processing and other hardware compatibilities.

Hardware capabilities are a constraint. There has been some attempts with non touchscreen phones as the excalibur, but projects have been stopped because new devices are out weekly.
I will move this to general forums btw.
Cheers,
Not possible, Google android needs a Touchscreen to operate it, The Maple/Snap/Dash Doesn't have one........sadly
What about using it on the SE Aspen?? It is touch screen!
It also is 240*320, which is also just like the HTC ChaCHa or the Samsung Galaxy Pro. Can someone PLEASE port it?? To use with Haret perhaps, as they can be used with other resolutions.
Yeah I guess the Aspen can Handle Android, but I guess it depends upon the type of CPU, and if anyone's willing to port it.
Damn, I wish I saw the Aspen before I saw the Maple.
Yes.. The SE Aspen is a good candidate for an Android. It has a good cpu too. the msm7227 600mhz
