Google Voice FC's on mytouch 1.2

Does anybody know of any solutions on how to get this working?
I'm thinking if I push build.prop file from g1, it might start working (but then htc music probably will not work).
tried pushing build.saphhire.prop from superD rom as build.prop, but it didn't work.
known problem for all people on mytouch 1.2's .. here is a workaround i found for you
SOLUTION FOUND!! (I apologize for using all bold, but it's the best way to convey my
excitement)
I finally managed to get my hands on the Google Voice app v 0.2. Did some tweaking
and walaah....a fully functional/non crashing google voice app on the new Mytouch 3G
Fender Limited Edition.
Tested and confirmed working features: SMS outgoing/incoming, Calls
outgoing/incoming, Account balance updates. Pretty much it appears to be fully
functional.
To get yourself setup, follow the instructions below:
1) Download the google voice 0.2 apk here: http://www.mediafire.com/?iui2tmmymit
2) Connect your phone to your computer, and transfer the file over to the SD card.
(Doesn't matter where you put it on the SD card)
3) Disconnect and let the phone prepare the SD Card.
4) Go to market place and install Apps Installer.
5) Launch Apps Installer and it will automatically find the Google Voice apk. Select
it and install.
6) Launch the Google Voice app and follow on screen instructions to set it up.

you dont really need to install app installer if you have something like Astro installed.. just browse to your sd card and run the .apk .. also make sure you have "allow unknow sources" checked under settings-->applications or the apk will fail to install

Google Maps missing from Market after upating to GingerDX

I updated my ROM to GingerDX and Google maps is missing. It was available on old 'Floyo'.
I used market enabler and searched in market with title and even all apps by google .
I tried via web to push the installation and it was disabled. I tried to install a apk directly from memory card and it was throwing application not installed.
As an experiment, I tried wiping dalvik cache and still am not able to get it. Please help me.
It was removed temporarily since V 12 . DX is checking batery consumption.
You can go back to V11 or installing Maps yourself from ownhere thread at XDA.
Thank you. Would there be any fix for that later?
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Manually install Google maps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007132

[Q] Voice recognition problem with U8800

Hi,
I have searched and tried almost everything to get voice input (for use with iris, google search, ...) working. Did uninstall, reinstall, update, downgrade, still nothing. I'm running latest Oxygen + franco kernel. Any further help resolving this issue is much appreciated!
Install voice search (you may also need TTS (text-to-speech) library) Then it should work...
You didn't read my post I DID install Voice Search, I tried everything - removing whole voice search from system, installing older / newer version. As stated in first post, NOTHING works
What about TTS library - do you have it? Iris wasnt working for me too (it said no speech input) but after I installed voice search it worked What kind of errors do you get ?

Where do I get it? If I search market I get tons of Apps responding to query "TTS Library". If you have any link, I'd appreciate you posting it.

https://market.android.com/details?...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kZXhldHJhLmlyaXMiXQ..
Install all these and try if it works
Also you need to have data or wifi active if you want google voice serach to work
Figured it out. As it turned out, voice search isn't supported in my country. So I had to google for APK (version 2.14). Everything started working then.

Problem with Google Earth and Maps

On my triple boot card I have Google Eart and Maps on both the CM7 and the CM 9.
On the CM 7 It works ok and updates load and install flawless.
On the CM9 Earth and Maps are pre installed.
Earth just does not work. I can load the update and install it but when I start up It tells me that it unfortunally stops.
The installed Maps version works ok, but the update won't install.
It says some signature is missing and tells to uninstall maps and reinstal.
I think that I need to uninstall Google Earth and Maps and than reinstall.
But the problem is, that I see no way to uninstall the preinstalled apps, because they are part of the system.
Thanks for any answer.

You can manually remove them with root explorer, but the best way is to use Titanium Backup. Or with CM9, you can use settings to disable system apps, which they are.
thanks again for your reply.
I downloaded root explorer but did nothing with it, It was too overwhelming for me to find out what to do.
I did try to download the free Titanium Backup but I got the message "error processing purchase [DF-BPA-09]
I was able to download the payd Keyapp, but this won't work without the free Titanium app.
In my CM9 Settings part there is no possibillity to disable system apps.
A lot off the free apps that I try to download stop installing with "error processing purchase [DF-BPA-09]
This is all in CM 9.
In CM 7 everything works okay.
Any idea what's wrong??

In CM9 go to settings, apps, all apps tab, scroll to the system app you want and open it. There should be a disable button there. Once you select that it is not active anymore. If you want to re-enable you do the same thing and then hit enable.
Thanks for your answer.
I could disable the app in this way.
What I hoped was that I could remove it and load the app from the appstore.(that is not gone work)
So this does not really solve the problem.
I am able to ues earth on CM7.
So I will install the apps, that won't install on CM9, on CM7.
No further messing around.
Thanks for your time and expertise.

Do someone get offline voice recognition working? I tried some files from 4.1, linking them to some folders, but nothing managed to work. Any ideas?

Try this. I haven't tested it yet myself, but supposedly it works.

Edit:
I took the offline voice recognition files from the latest full gapps package and created a flashable zip to install them. You'll need at least 23 MB of free space in the phone's system partition to flash this zip, so you may need to delete ringtones and other stuff you don't use. (You can check how much space is left in /system using Titanium Backup.)
Google search must also be installed (from the play store).
Google voice typing now works offline for me, but I haven't tested Google Now (which I don't use anyway).
For an alternative installation method that doesn't take up space in the system partition, see the aforementioned post by overclockthesun, who also gives some tips on how to get "OK Google" working.
