CALLtrack.... - Desire Themes and Apps

I wondered if anyone had tried calltrack app. It basically logs any call, missed call etc to your google calender. I looked for it on the marketplace but it's not available for me. Probably another tmobile thing with not getting access to some market apps...
ANyone tried it and if it's good, got the apk?

Not available to me either, would love an apk for this one...

I've been looking today too but can't find an apk. I'm sure someone here must have tried it...

Likewise I spent quite a while looking for an apk. Does Blapk Market have it I wonder?

I believe we don't see it because Google STILL has not approved the Desire on the market... and yup, I would like this too...

Are google not approving it just to be a pain? This seems ridiculous> Is it a standard thing that gets sorted within a few weeks?

I messaged the developer as I couldn't get the application from the market due to having a Desire - pfffft!
He sent me the apk which I have posted......
CallTrack logs your phone activity to your Google Calendar. You can select the type of calls to log (incoming, outgoing, and missed) and the calendar to log them in. You can also dump your current call log to your calendar.

Working superbly for me. Suggestion: go to your gmail calender and create a seperate calender called desirecalls or something... then in the options in calltrack, select that!

Ah, saw this after getting your PM, thanks for the upload, grabbing now

Thanks
Working very fine on HTC Desire, THANKS!!!

This is great! I created a new calendar on Google called CallTrack. It showed up on my phone after a few minutes and all my calls are now logged to that calendar. That way they don't clog up my main calendar and, I assume but haven't tried yet, won't show up in Outlook after I sync.

Download the new version from market it contains some fixes for froyo.

Solved
Thx for the hint....
Marketplace won´t let me download it for some reason (Maybe because I don´t have a DESIRE).
But finally I found a Download somwhere (uhhhh, took me a lot of time to find it....) in the Net with a newer Version (CallTrack_1.10.apk).
Now it works fine!!! Great Tool !

This is an awesome application. I highly recommend it.

I am using this CallTrack app too on my Galaxy S and created a new calendar call "Phone Calls" to track all the calls. However though it seems like I can see all call logs on my Galaxy S "Phone Call" calendar, I cannot seem to sync them onto my main Google Calendar, i.e. if I login to my Gmail through a PC and open up the calendar, it only shows the "Phone Calls" calendar without any entries. Can anyone confirm if this is normal or is this a bug? If I have to reset the Galaxy S and reload all the apps and settings, will the "Phone Call" calendar still shows the historical entries?

How to copy phone contacts to Google contacts?

When I add new contacts I always save them as Google contacts but when people call me and I don't have their numbers, I save them and they save as phone contacts for some reason. Is there any way to "copy all phone contacts to Google contacts"?
There is an App called ContactSync (free in market) which converts all your "phone contacts" to "google contacts". I spend a couple of hours yesterday sorting my contacts and set em up with google.com/contacts (first time). It was a pain in the as but worked out good in the end. The app does the job but have been reported instable on some Hero's.
However:I have another problem. It's fine that all my old contacts now are google contacts. But, when I create a new contact on my HTC Magic, theres no way to create a google contact (which it must be to be sync-able). The only options I have under "Contact Type" is SIM or Phone. I've googled my brains out but haven't found a way to create a google contact from the phone.
If someone knows a solution to this problem, please let me know.
Good Luck

I read the comments for ContactSync and it seems like everyone who has a Hero (which is what I have) had major problems with it, so I didn't want to risk it. I only have a couple of Phone contacts, is there any way to just manually copy them or re-save them?

No idea, Hero has "Google contact" as the default option. Maybe if you flash a newer rom the developer will have included it, it seems a little stupid for an Android phone to not allow Google contacts.
No idea what's wrong. First time I booted my Android phone it grabbed the contacts off my SIM and synced them to my Google account. Now I can make a contact in Gmail or in Android and it syncs to both.
Maybe make sure you have Contacts sync on in Settings -> Data Sync?

Calendar help.

Is there any way to get the calendar app to completly disable the "My Calendar" part?
When adding new entries in calendar, i have to manualy chose google calendar each time i add a new event. I want google calendar to be the default calendar. I tried only checking google calendar in settings (unchecked My Calendar), but each time i add an event, i have to manualy chose google calendar even though My Calendar is unchecked in settings
I know its probably not a very big deal for some, but i have set up google calendar to sync with phone and outlook, and chances are, ill forget to chose the google calendar when adding an event on more than one occasion
("My Calendar" wont sync in google calendar, so thats why i have to use google calendar)
Any help would realy be apreciated. Thanks!
(PS: My phone is rooted and im using fw JM2 if that can help in any way)
I agree, this is a big irritation. I keep quickly doing calendar entries and forgetting to select google calendar, then when I check on my desktop the event isn't there. I really hope there is a fix for this.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I agree, the single most annoying part of the phone for me !!! We need a fix either from Samsung or the Dev community. Anyone know how to contact the correct departmen tin Samsung for a fix?
Good to hear it isnt just me who is annoyed of this. When you uncheck "My Calendar" in settings, it should set google to the default choice when adding a new calendar entry.
Hope someone can fix this.

Is there a customization what would allow me to record calendar items which takes place
- once every two weeks?
- Happen the last wednesday of every month?
I find the stock calendar too limiting in this aspect, and wonder if that can be fixed.

What the hell was I thinking. Of course I don't have that much patience.
I tried it and yes! it solves the issue. Calendar entries are saved by default as google calender entries. Thank you... (BTW I did it using this "manual")
I guess the same will work with the standard contact application (same problem there)
Thanks for that info!! I will give it a try as soon as i have some spare time

Im not sure, but if you use Google Calendar sync to sync 2-way between Outlook and gmail, then gmail sync against google calendar on phone i think you can do this if you put the entry into Outlook. (Maybe google online calendar has this function aswell, not sure, the Samsung Calendar does not as you pointed out earlier)
The way to do it would be like this:
Add the entry in Outlook.
Sync against gmail with google calendar sync. (This can be done automaticly on different intervals with Google Calendar Sync)
Sync phone google calendar with "online" google calendar. (This can of course also be set up to be synced automaticly from the phone)
This should in theory work
Please give feedback if you try it.
Hey.
Where is TouchWizCalendar.apk & .odex, TouchWizCalendarProvider.apk & .odex, and InfoAlarm.apk & .odex located?
Nm, found it
/system/app for those else who wonder.
But unfortunatly, there is no com.android.calendar.apk or com.android.provider.calendar.apk in the Manage Applications list. (Even though i filtered with all)
Apperantly this doesnt work in JM2
Other people with JM2 have also reported problems installing the APK`s.

It worked like a charm on JM2 and now on JG5 .... I followed the instruction quite literally. (rebooted between every step etc etc)
Well, i cant uninstall the calendar stuff since it isnt listed in application manager, thats probably why i cant install the apk`s.

People app file name?

Does anyone know what the People app for Sense filename is? I'm trying to load an alternate People app from a Desire HD ROM. The Evo version shows all Google contacts and there is no way to turn it off. What I am trying to do is show only the "My Contacts" group. If it works I'll let you guys know! Thanks!

Your post is confusing but I will try to help.
The evo sense people app is htccontacts.apk. The google contacts is handled by googlecontactssyncadapter.apk.
You can stop the google contact sync by unchecking "sync contacts" under gmail sync in accounts & sync (if you have gmail auto syncing) or you can uninstall googlecontactssyncadapter.apk.
I have uninstalled googlecontacts and googlecalender sync adapters with no ill effects.
Unsyncing or uninstalling will stop google contacts from appearing in htccontacts (sense people). If you have google contacts in there already you will have to delete them manually AFTER you have disabled googlecontact syncing or uninstalled the googlecontactsync adapter.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I was brief in my first post but here's a longer explanation.
The People app on the Evo shows ALL of your Gmail contacts. However, there are some contacts that I've placed in a group called "Unused Contacts." If you check your contacts in Gmail, you will find that there is a group called "My Contacts." That is where I keep my most frequently used contacts.
On my phone, while browsing the contacts in the People app, every contact in my Gmail account is enumerated, including those in the "Unused Contacts" group.
However, the People app on my old phone (HTC Hero) had the ability to choose which contact groups you wanted to view. It was through a menu option within the People app. That was the feature that I was trying to replicate.
I went ahead and downloaded a ROM from the Desire HD forums. I have heard that the People app in the Desire HD had this feature enabled. I pushed the HtcContacts.apk file to my own phone's /system/app folder using adb. However, when I restarted the phone, the app just force closed on me. After playing around with it for a while, I was still not able to get it to work, so I just restored a Nandroid backup.
Hope that's clear enough for you
I can't test the google contact sync since I don't use it and for the reason you mentioned above.
The evo people app has a view option when you hit menu while viewing all your contacts but again I can't test filtering since I don't sync contacts to my gmail.
As for installing the people app, uninstall the stock one and try installing the desire version via a flash zip.
I find adb to be picky sometimes when pushing system apps. I had an instance where I had to restore my system app bluetooth and the only way to install it correctly was to flash it via recovery.
Hope that helps.
I have been looking for this fix for forever!!
I have the same gripe all the other HTC phones have the ability to filter the google contacts.
Were you able to figure this out? I would love to be able to do this.

[Q] facebook contact integration

Hi all,
Maybe I haven't enabled some setting (still new to the android game, even newer to the Timescape UI) but is there some way to search and link your phone contacts to facebook friends?
I've seen this integration being done using a built-in HTC feature.. wondering if there's something similar in Timescape that i've just missed.
Go to Contacts --> Settings --> Accounts & sync
There you can add your Facebook account

how do you guys get status updates to sync with contacts? i can get twitter updates to sync, but not facebook.
hey thanks for that guys.
@ thomassafca: yep i've done that, but what i mean is an app that runs through ur contacts, compares them to your facebook contacts and suggests whether u should merge the two.. not sure if that's what's happening atm tbh LOL but so far it doesn't look like a lot of contacts have fb details.
@androhero: thanks will give that a go, sounds promising.
haha tried life.contacts but if your contacts don't have the same name (e.g. first and last; most of my contacts in my phone are nicknames / first names only) it doesn't play too nice. would be great if you hv a clean contact list though, thanks for the heads up.
also (i'm an idiot) if you long-press a contact name in contacts it pulls up the context menu where you can select 'join contacts'. not quite what i was looking for (an automated suggestion app) but it'll do for now.

life.contacts works great, as long as the first name of the person in you contacts is exactly the same as there first name on facebook
hey! if you're still looking for a way to merge phone contacts with facebook IE their picture or status, what i did with mine was go into contacts, click on a contact and select edit. once you're in the editing screen for the contact press the menu button and at the bottom of the screen it will say join with two funny looking arrows..and then if your contact name is similar to any of your facebook contacts, it has that persons profile and you just select it!
if you know the person's on facebook and it doesn't show their name, sometimes you can edit the phone contact so it has the same name as their facebook page and join the two, then rename the contact in your phone so not every person has a first and last name lol.
hope this helps!

I second this as Life.Contacts widget/account-sync does work. However, I would just as soon have native Facebook sychronization. It works on my Thunderbolt, it works on my Moto Droid A855 (OG Droid), it works in my dev environment Android Emulator. _WHY_ Doesn't it work on the Xperia Play? Even on the "stock" Android 2.3.2 on the Verizon version (R800x). The facebook app works fine, except it has no settings under the "other settings" option inside the app, and if you try and add an account listing under your system Accounts menu, it just goes right back to the account list.
(Also, no it is not moved to SD, installed to a SD-Ext partition or anything else, just normal internal storage install directly from the Android Market)
Anybody have any ideas as to why?
Why would anyone want to put there phone numbers and personal contact data on facebook? That is just stupid. Why not just post your credit card information while your at it?

No, we are not putting phone numbers and personal contact data on facebook. It is putting facebook data on your phone.
For example. I have a friend John Doe in facebook. He is also in my phone. When he calls me, his facebook photo automatically shows up. Same for all other friends.
It's nice to see new facebook profile pictures when people call me.
I c. But there are to many people in my Facebook that I wouldn't want on my phone. A lot of them I don't even know. They just add me because we know someone in common. LOL
I had a similar problem with gmail on my iPhone all of a sudden I had everyone I ever emailed on my phone. Even people I only emailed once to buy something on kijiji.

Because your only meant to add your friends. People go crazy and add anyone they can its up to them.

That is why you just integrate the facebook info with only people from your contact list.

Can Someone Modify S Planner

Can anyone modify S Planner so it defaults to a users' google mail account rather than 'My Calendar' when entering a new event - or just get rid of My Calendar completely?

It always defaults to My Calendar but you can just click on the Google Calendar account you want to save it to when you enter the details and have it sync to that google calendar automatically. It might have been a good idea for Samsung to have made the calendar choice "sticky" from the last time it was used but, for whatever reason, they didn't.
Yes that is what I was hoping someone could modify - it is just so annoying having to select the google calendar every time you make an entry. Since I do lots of entries it makes this programme unusable for me.
For me it always default to my Google calendar. But if you dont use My calendar - why just not untick in settings - calendars? After that I suppose your Google calendar would be default
There are two or rather three very annoying problems about the S-Plannar. First - "My calendar" is default no matter what, second - when you tap "event details" the "all day" box is ticked by default and third - when you untick this box, the date when the event ends changes to the next day, so you have to edit it every single time. This really makes me furious, dunno what kind of a retard had these "helpful" ideas, it really ruins the experience if you use it a lot.
Luckily, there is a way around it. What I did was I unticked all the calendars except my google calendar and second - when creating a new event I don't tap the day of the month on calendar, I tap an empty space below the calendar (where it says "No event (tap to create)". Unfortunately it works only for te first appointment of the day, but it's usually enough or me.
Ultimately, I'd be very grateful if somebody skilled could modify these things.
Thanks for that idea but it defaults to My Calendar no matter what

Strange, but hey it is a Samsung
meh , this is very very annoying ! dunno what samsung were thinking when they added those stupid "touches" to that app !!!
its frustrating , u can never use the device as your daily organizer without bugging u out or driving u furious for those tiny little details that samsung left out !!!
is there a way to contact samsung about it and hope they can change it with ICS or any other update ? or we have to rely on xda developers ?
Mine syncs fine. see my message in other thread on this topic

Syncing is not the problem here tho!
mine one can select either my calendar or gmail.. now Im able to sync event with google calendar
