Voice Calling / Contacts Voice Tagging for the HTC Magic?

Hello everyone
I have recently bought the HTC Magic, moving from HTC P900.
The reason I did that was because it has seamless sync with Google apps, which I am using extensively.
However there is an issue. I used the P900 in conjunction with my Nokia / Bluetooth handsfree device in the car to place calls, simply by touching one button and saying whom I wanted to call.
It was very handy, and most importantly safe!!
I searched a lot to find the voice tagging feature in contacts in the HTC Magic. I couldn't find it. I couldn't find any app in the android store that would add that feature to my phone. I find it very hard to believe that P900 had that feature and the Magic doesn't.
Is there anyone out there who has any insight to this matter?
Thank you all for your time and help.

Google Voice...

Anyone with a Legend using Google Voice? A lot of us in the Hero forums are having issues with our 2.1 Leaks and using Google Voice. The device "acts" like it's calling through Google Voice, and connects. Though it doesn't actually use Google Voice. I believe it's due to the HTC Dialer. Thus I was wondering if HTC / Google resolved the problem and got it working properly?
Also if it does work can anyone pull the HTC Dialer apk for me so I can play around with it?
(Sorry for cluttering your forum... )
Same here. I can't use Google Voice. When doing calls it looks like the HTC app has higher priority or something like that.

It depends on whether apps support this feature or not. Handcent for example uses these text to speech libraries to read out your texts.

To use voice to text for messages first make sure your using Touch Input method keyboard. At the bottom left you'll see a button with a microphone icon on it, hold it down and talk when it prompts for voice.

Handcent can also read out sms texts. Just long press on the text and choose 'speak text' .... though im yet to think of a reason why i would want to do this.
