x10 consumes battery like drinking water?? - XPERIA X10 General

just got my x10 yesterday and im pretty happy with it.. but one thing.. battery uses up sooooooo fast...
i think there's one particuler app it was running did this.... but i dunno which one it is..
my phone was fully charged this morning at 11am, and it had only 58% left at around 2... then i restart my phone, it was a little bit better... 4% for around 1 hour of standby...
anyone having the same problem as me??
oh another thing... usb charging is soooo slow... the charge rate is equal to the rate of using it talking on google talk on wifi... weird..

Hi -Ajelman - There already a very lengthy thread on this subject.... upshot seems to be that it gets a lot better after about a week... and there seems to be a theme around Wifi chip not going into standby when the screen goes off....
Link to the other thread...

If you follow im_icemans link and follow some of the instructions there you should find a method of sustaining your battery. Definately go for juicedefender on the market, seems to have worked for most of us

I agree , mine is actually discharging when it plugged in and using it at the same time maybe it normal because this cute gadget is a real beast
one thing I hate about sony is why the hell do they have to use proprietary usb cables ? I can buy standard cable for 1$ mostly anywhere versus sony cable with cost around 20$

Its not a sony cable, its micro usb. 85 cents at mini price

The connector is micro usb. All future phones are encouraged to use it.
if you are in the usa, monoprice is your best friend for cables.

Battery dying for no reason

Hi, I am using Cyanogen's v4.1.999 and noticing a weird behavior on my G1. I charge my phone and it says its charged. Then after some hours if I try to do some stuff like browsing or downloading/installing software it just turns off from nowhere, and when I bring it on again the battery is under 15% and I got the dialog to connect my charger. The problem is that its like my battery meter is nuts, or my battery, or my rom.
Has anyone seen anything like it?

Not the ROM definitely a hardware issue. Also try to put questions like this in the Q&A, some people get pretty touchy about questions in the Dev forum.
For sure 100% it's a hardware issue

I had the same problem with my G1 i will charge my phone all night and it will only show battery is charge 5% so what i did is went to T-Mobile got a new batt that was $39.99 and a wall charger that was $19.99 and took it home and charge it for 48hrs and i sill got the same 5% batt charge so i call HTC and told them my problem with my G1 and they told me it was a hardware issue they ask to send them my G1 and they will give me a replace for free
i got it with in 7days !! then i was happy

Tip - charging in flight mode

Hola amigos
im alejo from colombia, some weeks ago i got my X10, i used to charge my phone at night with 3G on, wi-fi off, and in the mornings my battery was at 89% - 90% of charge, we all know these phones cannot be turned off while charging, so yesterday i tried to charge my mobile in flight mode which disables reception and wi-fi as well and guess what, in the morning my battery was at 98%
also in this way the phone charges a little bit faster than usual
Hi.
Just turn of your data connection, same result.
I don't know, but I actually never woke up to the phone charge less than 100% with the cellphone in classic standby without anything disabled. Maybe I'm special, hehe
Dont forget, after stayin on charge after a while the x10 begins to discharge, simply reconnect the charger, and enjoy

You are probably sleeping for either too long or not enough
Seriously though, you may be removing the phone each day in part of its decharge cycle. You might find that if you removed it an hour earlier or later that it would be 100%
i seem to get mine every day right on 100% so i guess im getting just the right amount of sleep
Charge before going to bed? Hehehe..
Usually i will charge my phone through comp's usb at my workplace, not charging it during sleeping hours so far. And always see it will charging fully at 100%. Maybe your usb cable to be blame? 3rd party usb cable? Happen once to me, it stop charging at 90% when charging it using other generic cheap micro usb cable as i forgot to bring home my usb cable.

Hope it helps.

Note that debrand is not the same as root. If you are afraid to root, you dont have to worry, because its a clean process. And upgrades will work just fine.

A lot of phones have overcharge protection. The most common is a simple algorithm where the device hits 100% charge and stops charging, then as the device discharges and hits a lower level threshold (90%-95% or whatever the manufacturer decided on) then charging is started again. This helps preserve the life of the battery.
Maybe when you see it below 100% it is because it is either discharging or just hit the lower threshold and is back on its way up.

Really Awful Battery Life

Just a few days ago my battery on my phone drained to 0 then charged it while turned off. But something suddenly came up and I need to go immediately and plugged the charger out before it was full. After that, my battery can barely last 1 day but normally my phone lasts up to 3 days without wifi and I already have Juice Defender and I actually upgraded it into Ultimate. Another thing that I noticed is that the temperature is becoming hotter than it used to be. Possibly because it's hot here. And no, it doesn't have any bumps.
So, what can I do about this? Do I have to buy a new battery or does anyone have an alternative?

Did your battery heat up like mine as well? Charging temperature is 42-43C. While Normal use is 35-39C and when playing some games it reaches to 40-42C.
Can this even be fixed by Battery Calibration? Just rooted my phone today.
And I am also eying the possibility that my charger is the culprit since it's becoming hot too especially the AC and the tip that you use to connect to your phone. Now I'm waiting for my aunt to borrow her charger and find out if it really is the one at fault.
And another thing that confuses me is my battery's health is still good. And the main drainer is "Cell Standby" and "Phone Idle".

Massive battery drain and an eternity to charge

Hi,
This past week, my G2 has had massive problems with the battery draining when I have been doing basic things like web browsing etc.... I can literally watch the battery drop %'s every few minutes... the phone also gets extrmely hot up the top of the phone around near camera, it gets to about 50 degree... and to make things even more worringly it takes all day to charge to full, instead of it charging to full in an hour or so it will barely get to 50% overnight..
Does anyone have any ideas what the hell is going on??? It's running stock EU KK ROM
I'm having the same issue. For me it seems to be triggered when I connect to bluetooth in my car. Once the battery drain is triggered it continues even after I get of the car. I've gotten in the habit of rebooting my phone every time a turn off the car. A major pain but it works until I find a better solution. I've been thinking about wipping the phone but I don't want to go through the hassle if I can avoid it.

First thing I guess would be to try a battery stats app (Gsam for instance) and have that running from a full charge to see if anything is running without your knowledge.
Not even with a separate app, did you guys take a look at the "stock" battery stats?
I had once a big battery drain that was caused by the media server.
If I helped you, please thank me
Ive currently tried every battery stats app i can get my hands on lol..... I've gone through the 50+ battery guide using titanium back up.... I've disabled startup programs.... Geez even Sonic the hedgehog Ep2 was for some reason just always doing something and i never touch it lol.... Anyway I'll keep a close eye on it but i still can't explain the long charge times.... Maybe something will come up
Yeh I checked stock battery stats, the main hog seems to be bluetooth when it's not even switched on :/

Im using loads of different cables...
I actually *think* I found the very unlikely culprit.... Google Chrome Camera!!!!!! Someone else commented on the exact same problems as me on the Play Store... which sounds about right because I've had the charging probs about as long as I installed the app.... So I've removed it and hopefully thats fixed it

I could see the app maybe causing the drain but I think it highly unlikely it affecting charging. I still like the cable idea for your slow charge. Go find your white one the phone came with and try it =)

Who's liking their fast charging?

Loving it! Kinda took me by surprise even though i knew i had it. Waited until my battery got to 1% then plugged this baby in, went to do something whick took 2-3 minutes. Now im already at 10% wow! I could see this as being super useful in rushed situations.
It came in handy this morning. Apparently I was so tired last night that I set my phone down on the wireless charging station (forgetting that I didn't have the wireless charging cover) and forgot to plug in it. At some point in the night my phone died, meaning my alarm didn't go off. Luckily my wife's goes off about 10 minutes after mine normally would. So, I plugged it up & was able to have a 50% charge before walking out the door to go to work this morning. That was a very pleasant experience with the quick charge feature.

P.P.S Defintitely not sure about it but you can be.
Greenpeace would complain because more power is used to charge quicker and for more power used, there is more power needed but for the extra power needed, coal power stations need more coal and to get the coal you dig it out of the ground. So in other words, the dinosaurs may be dead but they are dead pissed.

The biggest I see with this "Faster Charging" is that, this is the first phone I have ever owned that doesnt die on the charger.
What I mean by that is that, when I using the HotSpot Tether and playing games and multitasking all at the same time, my previous phones would either over heat and force the phone to cut off to cool down "LG G3" or the battery percent would get lower and lower while on the charger.
This has been my problem on every phone from the HTC M8 to S5 to M7 to Note 3 to Nexus 4/5 everyphone.
With this faster charging it charge fast and is able to keep up with my multi tasking demands while using the phone.
This may be a feature of the Snapdragon 805 being able to handle the work load better.
