Debranding X10 - XPERIA X10 General

I know the phone is not rooted yet and people are currently working on this & also Di Vinci are working on a package
However, does anyone know how to debrand the phone without rooting the phone?
I have read about the seus blob fs method on a few forums? Has anyone else tryed this? Is this just a case of replacing a few files on SEUS?
Thanks

Just debranded my handset

You gonna tell how??

Have you tried this yourself and if so, does it actually work?

Also I'd be grateful if someone could explain to me the benefits of de-branding my handset.

yess no one answered my question so i did the update myself, it worked on my dutch x10i and now i got the R1FA016 build instead of the 014 build. and i can confirm simlock will not be removed by debranding (expected this kinda but you never knew )

so i'm coming back to Android from HD2 Win Mob.
I have a trade on offer, for an x10 on orange and i am with tmob hd2. If this unlock works can anyone tell me can i use it on tmobile? if not who do i goto or pay to enable me to use this x10 on tmob?
Any info will be a help except, NO you cannot use it on tmobile.
Thanks..

G2 Touch Android 2.1

Hello,
I have done some searching but have been unable to find the answer so hope you guys can help.
Is there and offical update for the HTC G2 Touch to upgrade the Android frimware past 1.5 yet?
I have looked on the HTC site and drew a blank. If so how easy is this to install and would i lose all my contacts and pre installed apps.
Cheers in advance for any help offered
Yes, there is. You should have had an update pop up on the phone for over the air updating. If you have not then I suggest you restore your firmware to default settings and then connect to a wifi point to get the notification on your phone.
Phone is on default settings and i have connected to wifi many times with no notification.
I have been connected to wifi for 10 mins now and nothing.
Could the fact i am using a Vodafone sim be causing this? I have ordered a free PAYG TMobile sim just in case.

Nope, won't be the sim. Try chaging the date to a month forward. You need to check to see if vodafone has pushed out the updates.
Thanks for your help so far, changing the date did nothing, also Vodafone do not carry this phone.

Then that's why. Your going to have too roll it to WWE version first to get an update.
How do i go about doing that? Is it easy? I have no idesa what WWE mode is i am guessing its nothing to do with the wrestling and some kind of jailbreak.

WWE is the generic ROM that stands for world wide edition (I think!). You need to use the goldcard method/hboot unlocked to change to that.
I suggest you read up on goldcards and for the hboot it's in my sig as 2.1 downgrade. I will try to provide some links shortly.

Because the update will be pushed from the original carrier so putting in a sim card from that carrier would allow the update. In theory.

[Q] Register Error

I bought a x10 which was locked on orange. i unlocked it and debranded to a generic firmware. Every sim works in the phone except for o2 sims. I tried emailing them to see what the problem was and they are saying it's my phone. I've tried a few o2 sims same problem. Tried the sims in other phones and they've worked. It is something to do with the phone not registering on the network. Could this be due to me debranding in which case does anyone have access to orange firmware files. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Vodafone UK firmware

I'm hoping to receive my SGS2 from Vodafone UK tomorrow.
I know they will have added their own bloatware on it so want to flash an original firmware or custom ROM straight away.
How can I get an image of the Voda firmware so that I can flash it back should I need to return the phone?

Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Look over in the dev forum for the complete guide to de-branding and re-branding. You'll have to wait until a Vodafone ROM shows up online but that'll be a matter of days I'm sure.
As far as I know vodafone don't put any bloatware on their handsets.

No bloatware the original sgs was full of vodafone crap
Excepting similar tweaks as per o2, startup logo and settings limited to vodafone. Hopefully it's in the post today so should be able to see the results tonight.
As for being able to restore to Vodafone FW, nothing at the moment, but once an update is out it will be fine, or wait for someone to try and extract it.

4.0.2.A.0.42 SEUS update in UK now rolls out branded fw?

I just updated my Play using SEUS/PC Companion to the recently released 4.0.2.A.0.42 update. I purchased my phone for the bargain price of £149 a few weeks back from an O2 store and was happy that its installation of Android wasn't branded and that the update prior to this (2.3.3) wasn't either.
However, I have just witnessed the O2 boot up screen and fun features like wap.o2.com being my home screen.
Is this normal?
I'm wanting to keep my phone unrooted and bootloader locked for the moment, but is there any way of getting an unbranded 4.0.2.A.0.42 ?
Thanks
I did it using the free thingy from wotanserver and im on the latest uk generic after waiting for my o2 phone to get the update. it is free btw and didnt take too long. I then checked and repaired via pc companion just to make sure I was running the very latest and it is
Thanks! Are you in the same situation with an unroot/locked bootloader as myself? I think with Wotan I would be able to change the CDA? I'm not sure what that entails exactly, but I may give it a go. More info surrounding it would be helpful.
Just use flashtool like i did and update it to the generic uk vershion of the latest firmware no o2 splash screen i knew o2 would do this

If you use the wotanserver client do you lose your root? & does it wipe all data & apps?
Bought mine unbranded from Sony Ericsson's website, and its continued to be unbranded since, Ermm just root with the Zergrush method, takes about a minute todo, and no one has had problems as fare as I know.

While it may not do it (I'm unsure myself) it's good practice to always backup before making any major changes. And as TheCraig says, it's easy enough to root again.

Thanks. It's a bit naff for me because while it's O2 locked, Tesco Mobile uses the O2 network and their SIMs seem to be able to bypass the SIM lock.
BTW doubleluckstur, as you're an O2 user - have you lost your warranty on the phone? I'm still looking around to see how best to approach unlocking the bootloader/rooting and warranty preservation. Am I right in thinking that the official SE method of unlocking bootloader won't work on our O2 Plays?

All you have to do is flash a generic rom before you update to 2.3.4 The rom that comes with the o2 plays will have some kind of o2 trigger that is leading to the branded update.
Flash this rom with flashtool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097591
then update using SEUS. Bet you wont have all the o2 ****

I dont think you can ever lose your warranty. As long as you have a stock, unrooted phone, the guy in the o2 shop will be clueless.
As to your other question, the official way does not work. You're right, so don't put your IMEI in the bootloader unlocker because it won't work.
