HT-03A Takes corrupt pictures - myTouch 3G, Magic General

I have the problem that my phone takes corrupt pictures quite often. I've read about a couple of other phones doing the same thing. Has anyone had this problem or know a solution to it?

hmm... could be a bad sd card ...
what rom are you running?

Umm, I have the stock ROM of the Japanese NTTdocomo phone. Do they have different cameras that might work better?

i was going to recommend a different rom if you were rooted.. but i think the first thing you should try is a different sd card... if your sd card is bad you may get corrupted files, i.e. corrupt pictures as they are saved to the sd card
so.... try a different sd card, if you still have problems mabey might have to take it in for repair, hopefully your still on warranty
also mabey try a factory reset although im not sure if that will help...

Thanks, I need a bigger memory card anyway. I'll try that first, and just got the phone so it's still under warranty. Going to the shop and trying to explain my problem in Japanese might be a problem though.

Faulty sdcard? Is it the phone? The rom? Is it me?

Hi,
I've been getting the "your sd card is damaged and must be formatted again" notification a lot lately, and was wondering about the cause. I usually get it after rebooting the phone, am using CM 5.0.6, and honestly don't think I am doing anything that might damage the card. Maybe sometimes unplugging the phone from the computer without unmounting first?
Is there any way to know for sure where the problem comes from? Are you guys getting it too?
Try another card. Use the card in another device. Also be sure to unmount the card when you disconnect it.

Your SD card is dying. Back everything up ASAP. I had this happen with an SD card in my G1.

Try formatting the card in a camera, its a good way of recovering the memory card.

[Q] Removing SD while Android is running - what happens?

Hi there,
Since there is a unmount sd card in the settings of android i tried and unmounted it and took the sd card out to put some files onto it.
Well then Android was running for some more seconds, but then got stuck.
I suppose removing the SD card was not the best idea i had. (Even though i thought all the android files after booting were in the internal memorĂ½)
Can someone explain to me what happens when i remove my sd card while android is running?
Is it damaging the file system?
Is it damaging the card?
Is it damaging the phone?
Sorry..have no clue at all
So thought i ask before causing severe damage...
Cheerio
Thats exactly what I have done a few times (I forget that I have to boot into WinMo first).
I don't think it'll cause any lasting damage... At worst, you'll have to start a fresh ROM - But i've not had to yet !
It's certainly not a good thing to do. You are more likely to have file corruption, which of course can be fixed with a reinstall (you might even be able to keep your data.img).
It's also not good for the SD card. Removing it without really unmounting (we can't really unmount on HD2 without nand), increases chances of having your sd card bricked. Odds aren't big, but still not recomended. Your phone doesn't suffer any damage at all though!
ok thanks! Reinstalling the build right now...how would i realize if my card is bricked? not working anymore? loss of speed?
Thanks!
crash... i tried it before.. wasnt funny...

Could be all kinds of problems I guess, but Android would probably just crash after a while and not be able to reboot. Chances are low though, you usually needn't worry.

[Q] Help - Phone can't see sd card

I'd really appreciate some advice.
I have previously rooted my mini HD and tried a few roms but I had a boot problem the other day after a flat battery and I ended up having to restore Windows 6.5 to get the phone to work.
The problem I've got is that although the phone seems to work OK with Windows it will not see any SD card that I put in it...so I'm a bit stuck because I want to install an Android rom again, and without access to the SD card it's impossible?
So, any ideas how I can get the phone to see the SD card?
I have already reformatted the SD card using gparted to FAT32, and it's the same card that was in the phone before. I've also tried a different card but the phone refuses to see it.
Do you think something in the bootloader is messed up...I can't think that this could be a hardware error.
Any ideas would be great!
cheers.

maybe try another SDCards?

Thanks for your reply iPlasm,
I've tried 3 different SD cards, all working ones, and the result is the same...when I look in settings on WM it tells me "no SD card" and if I try to format SD card using "tools" it also tells me "no SD card present".
Something is obviously wrong with the WM system - I've tried different stock WM roms using RUU's and I get the same result....everything was working fine before my flat battery issue but being unable to recognise an SD card is a big issue for me to get around so that I can root the phone again and install an Android rom.
Is it possible to run Haret from the main device and install a custom recovery? I'd have to email myself the necessary files and cut and paste them using the file explorer on WM unless there is a different way...or is this just barking mad?
Any ideas to resolve my problem would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
Ade
Well.. I don't know what to say.. you were talking about battery, so how about try the old ones?
I don't have really much ideas about that, but i think it should be easy fixing or can be dirty inside the Hardware's SDCard input, you may have to clean it.

Tried all of that - still won't see card. This must be a software issue that is beyond my reach.
How can I root this if I can't use the sd card?

SD cards no recognized anymore

I still use my htc universal, never stopped using it in fact, and recently it was totally crashed, so I flashed it to another rom and tried 2 other roms including the 1 I used first, and each time the sd card isn't detected.
What is likely is that for some reason, the sd card reader of my device simply don't work anymore, all of sudden. I just want to know if this happened to someone else so I may be more sure about that.
SD Card
Hello,
Try replacing your SD Card with a new one. If that does not work. Do a sprite backup on your device. Then do a hard reset. Try your new SD card before restoring your rom after doing a hard reset. Let me know so I can walk your through. This is the best rom for the Qtek 9000 Windows Mobile 6.5.5 Build 23566 Sun_dreams Rom
Sincerely yours,
Robert

[Q] Is my SD card slot fried? Please help!!

Hi Guys,
I'm on Temasek's CM11, been using this Sony 64GB microSD card for over a year, and today, randomly while the phone was in use, I saw a message pop up, SD card unexpectedly unmounted. After that, it's not using up in the file systems, all the way down to the Recovery. I'm using TWRP.
I put the SD card in another Note 3 I have and everything seems to be fine on there, all the data is here.
So just posting here to make sure that is it safe to conclude that my SD card slot is fried?
And if so... What are my options... I have had the Note 3 for over a year and brought it off of Craigslist. It's unlocked and use it on AT&T...
So any ideas or advice friends? And yes, I pressed the SD card firmly in my Note 3 many times...
Thank you!
Unless you smell ozone or see burn marks it is not fried.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for your response! Definitely no smell, no burns. But, SD card is not visible even in TWRP recovery, but works great in another Note 3 I have.
Can you, or anyone else recommend what I can try before I conclude it's a hardware issue?
Would appreciate any help guys!
Thank you!
It is probably your ROM. If it is working on another phone, then nothing wrong with card. Hardly doubt it's hardware, but never know.
How about trying another card in your phone and see if have same issues.
Have you tried another SD card?

Yes guys, tried another sd card, same result, but the card reads fine in the other phone. Even the second card. Remember, the sd cards are not showing in Recovery either... that sounds like a (hardware) problem ...?
No idea. Have you tried saving all your files from SD card (to computer), then format that sd card ...see if it helps.
If not, then it could well be hardware. If you can find a phone repair shop (not official samsung one), then they can probably replace it.
I don't think any official Samsung one will do it for you (since phone is modified), but can try lol.
Good luck!
