Pre-installed keybord and dictionary - XPERIA X10 General

Hi,
I've just got my x10, and I've got to say I'm impressed! I very much like the ordinary keyboard which is pre-installed. I've been looking around for a bit now, but I cannot find out how to add custom words in the dictionary. When in settings and dictionary, I get the message, 'use the secondary menu to add words'. Any ideas?
Also I was wondering if there is any possibilities for adding custom smileys in the smiley section.
Thanks!

T9 Editor...

Hi, This is my first post so go easy on me....
So, lately, my T9 is getting full of words that i accidentally have misspelled... For example, every time i write the word don't, the word font is displayed on the screen. It's really annoying
I Have looked under the keyboard input setting, but the only setting that is useful is the option to delete all of the dictionary that i have added.
I'm just wondering if there is a program out there that will let me edit my dictionary? I've tried a few, but, none of them use the existing dictionary of my HTC Elf.

FingerBoard 2.1 quick questions

Hello
I love Fingerboard and its advantages before the original keyboard. However, I'm just wondering if it's possible to change to (or download) other keyboard layouts for it? I want the original "Phone keyboard" on Fingerboard. I mean the keyboard with "2 abc, 2 def, 4 ghi, 5 jkl" and so on. Is this possible?
If this is not possible; can I somehow use the FB dictionary on the built in keyboard on the HD2? I want this because the main thing I love with FB is that it has excluded all the nonsense words that XT9 in HD2 have. Hate those.

I've not had a look at it or tried it, but you can create your own layouts for Fingerkeyboard

Autocorrect?

I really liked the way the autocorrect worked on the Evo 4G keyboard. Is there a way to turn that on for the Vibrant?
It would also be nice to have the key pressed pop up above the key when I push it (to verify i hit the right one without moving my eye) instead of just flashing blue under my finger where I can't see it.
I'm trying to figure out how to change these two things...at least mainly the autocorrect.
Regarding swype.... not to hijack a thread... I no longer see how you add a word for swype to learn like it did previously? Used to, you would just long press and add the word to your dictionary. Anyone know how to do this?
Whenever you type a word in manually and hit space to go to a new word, it learns it. You can access the tutorial in "Swype Tips" in your app menu. It goes over this and other uses. You'll add the "word" "bob4" to the menu in the tutorial.
I found the answer to my question.
Apparently I was confused
If anyone else out there is confused...
The default keyboard is swype and to get the autocorrect working similar to Evo, you need to go to settings, then Locale and text, then Set default keyboard and change it to android. If you change to samsung keyboard, you have to enable the auto predict text thing.
I've been trying out swype now though, and I'm liking it.
^^ yeah, I did that.... I guess I'm just used to longpressing and adding words to my dictionary. I have tried to type in a-p-p-s, but I can never get swype to do "apps" for me.

[Q] Dictionary not working...

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before but I cant find an answer. I've figured out how this works if i add and use the Swype keybd. Seems to work as expected but if i want to use the Samsung keybd it doesn't work. Meaning if Samsung is my default keybd no words ever get added to the dictionary. Seems like the settings in Language and Input for Samsung keybd are different from Swype. And i dont see a section in the Samsung keybd for my words or a dictionary. I'm more a conventional typing person so Swype isnt really for me and I like the Samsung keybd more. Appreciate if anyone can guide me to a resolution. All i really want to do is have words like "hv", "cld", "shld" recognized when i type and not always predict something other than that. Unless of course it expanded the words to "have", "could", "should". A bit more info: If I look in language and input I have the samsung keybd as grayed out and checked on and below that the swype keybd as checked on and available to change. Thanks in advance.

[Q]how to view/edit user dictionary for samsung keyboard

is there some way to edit/add/delete items from the user dictionary when using the samsung keyboard?
i like that it has a phonepad type keyboard (i abhor qwerty pads and they crazy tiny keys)
but there is no option in the language/input settings for user or personal dictionary like older samsungs had and other keyboards have.
i know how to add words with the press/hold/swipe method while in the keyboard which is fine for adding new words but it makes lots of suggestions that i didn't enter. in my s3, and previous android phones i could occasionally go into the dictionary and remove out the erroneous entries but the s5 seems to be missing this ability
any help?
thanks in advance
