mini-usb - XPERIA X10 General

isnt X10 suppose to have mini-usb?
Non of my old mini-usb cables fit the X10

The X10 makes use of the USB Micro B standard. Expect this connection to be on many phones.
The cellular phone carrier group, Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP), have recently endorsed Micro-USB as the standard connector for data and power on mobile devices.[21] These include various types of battery chargers, allowing Micro-USB to be the single external cable link needed by some devices. As of January 30, 2009 Micro-USB has been accepted by almost all cell phone manufacturers as the standard charging port (including Apple, Motorola, Nokia, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Research In Motion) in the EU and most of the world. Worldwide conversion to the new cellphone charging standard is expected to be completed between 2010 to 2012.

what extras did your o2 XDA exec come with

My XDA exec came today
software, pouch but only lead is a mini usb
did anyone get other things like headphones or ac charger
Have you looked in the little draw where the usb lead was...thats where my ac charger and headphones were
thanks for that
to be honest, had a ve ryquick look when it came this afernoon, could not find anything... but then wife took it and wrapped it up for my brthday tomorrow
BTW and absolute confirmation on 02 online free GPRS
OK feel silly now ... opened it up, and yes - in a separate box that was wedged in the middle , there's the charger / headphones
Don't feel silly.
I did the same thing.
So the only difference between the XDA and MDA packages is that MDA also had a screen protector, a 512mb mini SD card and mini-SD adaptor.
FWIW, my first MDA Pro, bought about 3 weeks ago, had a german outer box. The replacement I picked up yesterday was in English. That'll probably detract from it's antique value in 200 years time
So how much more is the MDA pro ??
My Xda will cost £135 plus 12x £19
although of course that includes little in way of mins/ download
---
It appears to be unlocked
---
Now just waiting for 02 to confirm free GPRS (3G) until end of year

£200 for the upgrade, £32.76 early termination of my contract, £15 unlock fee.
mine came with heaphones and AC charger, (hidden in the secret bit of the box) and usb to mini usb cable. However, I was either in a trance when i opened the cool box, but I have a memory of seeing a cigarette lighter adaptor with a USB input to charge in the car.......was I dreaming, as I cant find it anywhere now!
Unless there's another secret box.. then not one in mine, although I do have a belkin car adapter with a standard usb plug in my old Jornada box, which should do the job

RAM and Other Upgrades on Sprint Mogul

It's good to have found this group
As a new user or about to be one, I have a need for an internet phone that runs Mobile 5/6. After much research, I've landed on the Sprint Mogul. I'll be using it mostly for email, surfing the net, and streaming internet radio via Live365's new Windows Mobile 6 application. Basically, I need to stay connected to my business while away from my laptop.
Before I make my purchase tomorrow, I'm concerned about the RAM. I think the Mogul comes with 128k RAM and is upgradeable to 2MB. Am I correct about this, and if so, should I get the upgrade immediately?
Also, can I use external stereo headphones that have a 1/8 stereo phono plug with the headset USB adapter bundled with the phone?
Is there any other upgrades I should be concerned about as a new user?
I'll be using the phone mostly in NYC. Many thanks in advance.

The Mogul/PPC6800/P4000 comes with 64mb Ram/256mb Rom and is (atthis point) non-upgradeable. It has a slot that holds a MicroSD card which can fit up to 4GB stock; 6GB on up with a specific .cab file.
The stock headphones have a mini-usb connector. You will have to purchase a mini-usb to 1/8 phono plug to use those headphones.
As far as upgrades... Welcome.
Read ALOT. There is much here in the way of software & hardware upgrades. The general forum has accessories & software development threads which can benefit many applications & devices.
Thanks xweaponx for the quick response and advice.

Can I pick up one of these at the local radioshack or is this something I need to special order somewhere else?

Yes. You can pick up an adapter at Radio-Shack or Wal-Mart. Pretty much any place that carries audio products or headphones.

I'm sorry I'll have to disagree with you here... Maybe it's because of my area, But I was unable to find any retailers that had even heard of a Mini-usb / Headphone jack. They ALL looked at me like I was speaking Greek in China.
I had to order mine on-line from Moguldepot.com It was about $16.00 after shipping. Kinda expensive for a simple adapter if you ask me, but worth it since no one had even heard of it.
the mogul includes a Mini-USB to a 2.5mm Phono plug adapter... so you could have gotten a 2.5mm to 3.5mm standard adapter as well.

USB miniport replacement

Hello all
I think my miniport is broken on my Nexus S, since every computers just say unrecognized devices and keeps mounting/unmounting it... Since warranty is not an option (bought the phone in US, live in Europe), I would like to ask if anyone know if it is possible to replace the miniport? Either myself or at a phone repairshop? Just wanting to check before running around searching for a repairshop...
Try a new cord before you blame the phone itself. Both my and my wife's original Samsung power cords went to pot in less than 9 months. Mine's dead (OK, the spaghetti sauce might have had something to do with it.) and hers is having the same mount/dismount issues you describe. I had the same problem with previous cords from LG
I'm currently waiting for this one to come in the mail from Amazon: Mediabridge - USB 2.0 A-Male to Micro-B Cable (6 Feet). It has very good reviews and a reasonable price.

[Q] Charger for America only??

I was just looking at the specs for the official charger (link) and it says "For use in the United States only". I know you'd obviously need an adapter for the plug prongs to fit if used in Europe, etc., but I'm concerned that their warning means you also will need a converter?? This would be shocking, so I'm checking with you all to see what you think. Thanks!

I think it is probably an over-cite & they have put the stock US description & photo on the UK GooglePlay Shop. If it isn't you just need a little travel adapter plug. But you don't need a step down converter.
Power adapter works gloabally (with adapter)

kalipedia, The page states input voltage 110V-240V. This is fine for most (if not all) countries in the world. You would just need an adapter to allow it to be plugged into the outlet.
This will be useful when I go and visit my parents in the UK.
Ok - thanks for the confirmation. I was getting a little paranoid by their only-works-in-the-US disclaimer. Like I said, would be shocking if it required a converter!
It's only a normal micro USB charger, although it does output at 2 amps. I'm sure you can buy a 2A micro USB charger on ebay or elsewhere if you look hard enough.

20W Wireless Charger

Does anyone know where the new wireless 20 watt charger for Note 10+ (with US plug) can be bought from, or at least pre-ordered? It seems unlike the phone itself, it was announced but haven't been made available. Please post links if you've seen an online store that has it for sale.

That would be the one I'm asking about, thanks. It's actually a 20W wireless charger, not 15W. This phone arena link explains the reason it's listed at 15W only is because FCC is slow and lazy, and they don't even have a 20W certification process for wireless chargers, and they only moved from 5W to 15W last year, so they were able to certify the charger for 15W only. Also Roland Quandt, the guy who originally leaked this charger says he's personally witnessed this charger working at 20W charging rate.
best buy have them in stock already you can have it shipped
