Unlocking HTC Legend. - Legend General

Hello there,
just got my Legend and is locked. Was a bit surprised as my previous (Hero) and other (Desire) are unlocked.
Bit strange as when inserting different SIM,the APN (saved on SIM) poping up to be confirmed. Then "Emergency Calls" only

Where did you get it, was it on a contract?
mine is unlocked - i bought it without contract.

Telstra Locked Jasjam?!?!

Hi there people,
I'm from Australia and I have a Jasjam that seems to be locked to Telstra, when I use my Optus sim I get a msg from optus saying that this phone is blocked from the Optus Network. Am I right to assume it is locked to Telstra? If so how do I unlock it?
Thank You
see the sticky in the hermes upgrading section
Tried the Sim and Super CID Unlocker but still doesn't seem to work... could I possibly be doing it wrong?
either its stolen or you just cant follow instructions.
I know that the jasjam I got wasnt locked toTelstra, neither was my brothers and he got his almost a year later through work. Try a Telstra and/or Vodaphone sim to see if you can use... Then if it still doesn't work (especially with Telstra sim) hunt down who you bought it from and get your cash back cos it sounds suspiciously like it may be stolen.
Cheers...

I think it gets unlocked if you install the Unofficial/Official firmware updates such as the latest one I9000XWJM2.
it would be great, but are you sure ?im kinda newbie at this ...im afraid not to break it.
It wont unlock it I thing, just change the settings

I am not 100% sure, however, I am sure that you won't breat your mobile if you follow the correct steps, it's worth a try.
ok..i'll wait for new replies if no viable solution appears i will go to a gsm service.
I cannot test it, but flashing Generic Firmwares may unlock your phone. You could first root the device, do a backup with ROM Manager/ClockworkMod then flash the JM2 Firmware and see if it's unlocked.
If not, restore the backup with ROM Manager and unroot your device.
I don't think is a big deal and better then going to a "gsm service"
Good Luck.
I think that your first action should be to contact your service provider, Orange, and ask if they will provide an unlocking code. Most providers will provide an unlock code for about £15 or £20, although some insist that you have had the phone for a specified time.
I'm pretty sure flashing a generic firmware will not unlock the phone. I would definitely try orange first, though when my dad got a phone unlocked in the past they made him wait 3 months first and charged him £15.
you can obtain an unlock code there http://cellunlocker.net/
its 25$ i am sure orange will cash much more for this...
tried all solutions..soft related...i called orange too and they didn't gave me the code in the end i went to a service and unlocked it there (50$) kinda pricey for a unlock code but i had no remaining solutions, thanks for your replies guys
Cheers
It's too late for you, but someone in another forum reported that his simlock went away after flashing JP3 on his phone.
Orange do SIM-unlock handsets, but they require that you're at least 3 months into your contract with a new handset before they will do so.
They charge £20 for the privilege, which is applied to your bill. If you have a pre-paid handset, you need to have this amount as credit on your bill before they'll order the code.
It can take some time - a couple of weeks - for them to send the code to you. I think this varies by handset.
In my experience with HTC handsets, so this is obviously may differ for Samsung, flashing a new ROM will NOT SIM-unlock your device.
I had a new HTC Desire from Orange and was going abroad immediately on a business trip. They refused to SIM-unlock it for me, so I found someone on eBay offering unlock codes, and for the princely sum of US$9, had an unlocked phone that I was able to use with a local SIM card within 5 hours.
(Side note: Orange lied and screwed me over the contractual terms, so I cancelled the contract on them and returned the handset, switched to Vodafone, and now have the SGS!)

help: can't activate droid pro

hey all,
i'm in canada and i bought droid pro from a guy. i unlocked the phone and it was working fine. there was some previous data on it though so i did a factory reset. after the reset it asks me to activate the phone. i'm kind of stuck on this screen. anyone that can help?
Activation
For those people who are overseas (I know there's a guy in Thailand, another in Canada (the TS here) and a guy in India and maybe more) did you get Activated phones which you then unlocked?
For those of you who have un-activated phones, how did you unlock them as from what I'm reading the phones need to be activated before you can unlock them for use with a foreign SIM card.
Finally, for those in the know, what about the new droidbandunlock (google it) and the appearance of the SBF? Coupled with an unlock code (10 bucks on ebay) can they help those get a phone that will work with foreign SIM's?
Why is activation so important? What is the "switch" that gets toggled? I understand those folks who upgrade ROM's will have to re-activate?
Thanks guys!

[Q] Clarifyng concepts: unlock, unbrand, deband...

Hi, guys.
I have a Vodafone-locked HTC 7 Trophy.
My N1 is going to be repaired so I wanna use the trophy while it does. My operator is Simyo so I can't use my sim with the phone... looking for a way to use my non-vodafone sim with HTC Trophy I'm very confused...
Here, in Spain, we call "liberar" (literally "set free") to the process which lets your mobile uses any sim card, how call you this in English? Unlock? Unbrand?
Thank you!
Hi.
AFAIK unlocking means using the phone with any Sim Card - which would be "liberar" as you call it.
Unbranding is the process where you remove all the settings, or operator logos your phone came with.
Of course unlocking can also mean, jailbreak the phone, so you can sideload apps etc.
But in general I'd consider unlocking removing the Sim Lock.
Correct me if I'm wrong

one Samsung Galaxy S4 EE sim says 'invalid sim other OK

I have 2 Galaxy S4 i9505 phones.
Phone 1. Bought as used phone on Ebay and was previously locked to the 'Three' network, I had it unlocked by 'Three'. This phone has always, and still does work without problem with my EE 4G (pay monthly) sim. The only remarkable thing about this phone is that it failed/froze/bricked whilst installing the Lollipop upgrade. It was repaired - new boards - under warranty in April 2015.
Phone 2 was also bought as used on Ebay. This phone had been used on O2 network. I discovered that it had never been locked to any network. I bought a pay monthly 30 day rolling contract thinking that it had been locked to O2. When I put my EE 4G sim in I got the message 'no sim, insert sim'. Baffled. The only thing I thought could be the problem was the sim itself, EE gave me a new sim. The only physical difference this sim had was that it had the Nano option. When I put this sim in phone 1 it worked perfectly, I put it into phone 2 and it worked! I needed to put the sim back into phone 1 to set it up to transfer data. When I put it back into phone 2 the message 'invalid sim' came up and that is where things stand.
As I have two phones I was hoping someone could guide me through the necessary steps to find out where the problem lies by comparing the two, and hopefully find a solution. I have read another thread from tomedwards93 posted in April 2015 and see no solution was found by him so maybe this could help him too.
Can someone please help?
I didn't understand a single of what is written, the description is long and read this thread twice, still can't a understand this thread

I've replaced the sim card slot and done a factory reset, it worked for about half an hour then the 'No sim ' message returned. It still works with a PAYG '3 network' sim, with intermittent 'sim removed restart phone' message I no longer have the O2 account.
I have another fully functioning S4. Can anyone guide me through comparing the Android settings on the 2 phones.
I've never attempted either flashing or rooting and don't understand how to go about doing this.
Just to say thanks for the suggestions, the phone has now corrupted my SD card and I've had enough, I'm defeated. I'll keep this phone as a Sonos controller and go to Lumia 950 on Win phone 10 when it arrives.:good:
Sim not detected
I have a samsung S4 i 9505 and I often receive a message "insert cart sim". After rebooting it works normally
