The ROM and RAM usages are real
Just wondering, since you're working on the bluetooth side of things too at the moment, what's the chance of sticking in the HTC style BT control panel, which includes stuff like SAP (Sim Access Profile) - without that I can't use my TG01 in my car!!
But it might not be possible, from what I understand, the TG01 uses an MS Bluetooth hardware, and the HTCs used something other - probably Qualcomm or something at a guess, being that's usually the CPU stuff.
I'm shooting in the dark, but if it's something you're already working on, maybe that's the BT Stack you could use? To be honest, though, I'm just grateful that someone's doing this - as so many have said, finally we have a device which we'll soon be able to use easily, comfortably and PROPERLY!!

Right now I think that the BT and WIFI solution may come using the toshiba settings aplication to acces to the configuration. It allows also acces to configure almost everything we are used to configure.
when will this be uploaded?

just do as i said in the other thread and ull be fine...
-turn off the footprints tab.
-for bluetooth/wifi use AEbutton plus and bind a key for bluetooth/wifi toggle
(use ADD button from menu for mapping slider and cam button , u can also use double tapping and all that stuff for a single button= multi function for 1 button)
also , hdublis rom doesnt open the HTC Album app .... u got any more further in that ?

Don't worry, I will release the rom without bugfix, and I will work arround about how to fix the issues. Once we have a list with register keys we need to modify, etc. I will re-release the ROM. Anyways, I want to release the "hand way to solve the wifi/bt issue" at least.
Arag8n, you are a very good and dedicated developer! well done! I have a question. I am quite fond of the flipclock animation does your ROM include the 1:02 flip animation (i.e unlock device and clock flips with fast animation, found on the sense 2.5 2011 cab and hd2)

Thanks!!! And well, the manila that I'm using is the very same version that hdubbli used on his ROM. I just unpacked his rom, used my OEM files, modified my initflashfiles and repacked, and here I am. I've used the l3v5y kitchen to reallocate the packages, so, were I want to go.
If lock screen wasn't working on hdubbli build, it's not going to work on mine either.

I'm glad you like it. Most of the problems with the hdubbli build were caused because the orange stuff. Now the phone works much better from my point of view. A healthy RAM avalible and almost the same ROM avalible than on my debranded version (Most of the ROM wasted is because Opera9 and picture examples, I'm pretty sure I can delete it, but I will try on next release, 230Mb avalible stills being a lot).

I don't know if this is any help, but to get the wifi button/slider to work in comm manager I use the following registry tweak:
HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Drivers/WLAN,
Copy the AdapterName value, then go to HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/HTC/CommManager/WLAN
In the DeviceName field delete what the value after
{98c5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}/..........
and paste the AdapterName value.
Hope this helps, look forward to your updated sense ROM's.

No way with my actual knowledge at least. Anyways, ROM it's much slower than RAM, so I don't think you will see a major improvement just to have more RAM, but extremly more slow.

1.) You MUST have a 21000 OR HIGHER build on your device in order for this menu extension to work. DO NOT attempt to install this on any older builds because it won't work.
2.) jlavoie tested this on his device with beta WM6.5 build 21159 and reports that this does not work with for him. This MAY, or MAY NOT work with WM6.5. If you install it and it works, AWESOME!! If not, sorry maybe next time.

I Have An HTC Touch/Vogue Running NFSFAN's WM 6.1 Sprint 1.09 Rom (Build 21014)...
I Had To Edit The "HTCMenus.bmp" File As There Was Problems Displaying Correctly On QVGA Devices... I Had To Get Rid Of The Top And Bottom Of The Menu Showing Nothing But Garbage...
In The Beginning, The End Result Was A Square Menu In The Middle Still Maintaining The Scrolling Functionality...
Because I Like How Much Faster And Smoother This Is Than Finger Menu...
I Will Be Continuing To Modify This File To Get To The Full Desired Effect For QVGA Devices...
This Is Just A Quick Fix For Now... 90%

Nahh Bro, Thats What Happens In The Beginning... You Still Gotta Copy Over My Modified .bmp, Then It Should Look Exactly Like My Screenshots... Do This Right Now:
1.) Download The .Zip
2.) Extract The "HTCMenus.bmp" File
3.) Copy It To Your Windows Folder Overwriting What Is Currently There (Using Total Commander/Reco Ect....)
4.) Soft Reset

You have two options:
Run EXE file on you Windows Mobile without installation. It do not put icon to start menu.
Install the CAB file from your device like other program. It put icon to start menu.

If you use WM6.5 you can change right soft key for myAction (tested on WM6.5 emulator). If you run myAction first time you will be ask about it.
If you prefere do it later you need modify two value: SK2URL and SK2TEXT:

1) Do you believe it would/should work on CDMA devices?
2) I know you say 'Recommended' install to device memory, but I have always installed all my programs to Internal Storage (even things like PSshutXP, fredsTaskManager, DiamondTweak -all are programs that are connected to the functioning of the device-) and have always had success (I hate to use precious device storage space). So, any chance it would work if installed to Internal Storage? Have you tried?
3) Can a user change the order of icons on myAction?
4) Is it possible to have the Start menu/icon as one of the icons?
5) A Readme?

1. I do not know what do you mean because I do not know CDMA
2. It is only recommended. It should word from Internal Storage but I think wifi on/off do not word in this version if you put to IS.

It try run: \Program Files\myAction2\myAction.exe
If you can run it you should manually create myAction2 folder and copy myAction.exe to this. It is rather feature function.

If you need to run klaxon you must put it \Program Files\Klaxon\Klaxon.exe first. See 2nd post in this thread.

How this works?
Windows Mobile runs on your concurrent phone, so when Android is being boot up on the device, it will actually 'kick off' the RAM working concurrently on Windows Mobile and use the entire RAM for linux itself.

How to get started with Wing Linux?
- Backup your SD Card and Phone before doing anything!
We have a few cases with wiped out data, better do it, guys!
1) Go to the Wing Linux's Website
2) Get Wing Linux's 0.4.2 (here)
3) Get our very own HTC Elf/Elfin Cab (Dont Worry, what you press on the phone will be what you get!)
4) Install both Wing Linux 0.4.2 cab and the Elf cab in your storage card (So make sure you have at least 512mb free storage space in your memory card)
How to get Google Android started?
1) After installing the cab as mentioned above, go to programs, and start Wing Linux
2) Press run!
3) After seeing 20000++ lines of code, you will reach an install screen (which is blue in colour)
4) You will take sometime there as our phones do not have a physical keyboard. So wait for it to install.
5) After that, the calibration utility will start, make sure you tap the right corners of the screen (The calibration process is only ONCE, so once you click the wrong corners, good luck, we need more steps to get it back working!)
6) Android will start loading and you are ready to get blasted!

How to copy files / install apps into Android using Windows
1) Install this 'Ethernet Gadget' Drivers (In order to let the phone talk to the PC)
- It works for both Windows XP and Vista (There will be prompts here and there)
- Settings for network card
ip: 10.100.0.2
mask: 255.255.0.0
2) Download WinSCP
3) Install em!
4) Key in the following settings into WinSCP:
- Server: 10.100.0.1
- Username: root
- Password: wing
5) To install Google Android Apps
- Make sure to download the app first!
6) Put the .apks to /system/app/directory through WinSCP
- (ex: scp xxx.apk [email protected]:/system/data/)
7) Done! It will show up in the application list!

Q: Which Device Can Run This?
A: A GSM HTC Touch / It works for both Elf and Elfin (Yay!)
If you use a CDMA version of HTC Touch, please go to your Vogue forum.
Q: Is my phone Elf or Elfin?
A: Go to Start > Settings > System > Device Information > Hardware tab, if the 'RAM size' shows 64MB it's an Elf, if it shows 128MB for RAM and 256MB for Flash then it's the Elfin. (This doesn't matter as Wing Linux is able to run on both, just added this question for reference only)
Q: How big is this thing?
A: It is about 300mb (Estimated), as the image is already 250mb.
Q: My phone cant connect to the network
A: Please switch off the Sim Password on your phone using Windows Mobile first before coming into Android.
Q: How to get Data (GPRS) working on your device
A: Go to your settings menu in Android and change your APN options, you can get that from your carrier.
Q: How to re-calibrate the screen?
A: Go to storage card, than go this folder called 'linux', than open default.txt. Look for the line that says "set CMDLINE", add "reset_ts" to it.
Remember to remove that once you're satisfied with the calibration.
(If Microsoft Word asks you to save it in their format, always say no)
Q: If I am using the Herald Cab and running on the outdated 0.4pre3, how can I get the correct key mappings?

ok so i have been following this:
2) Rename the downloaded file to zImage and copy it to /Storage Card/linux
3) Modify your default.txt to have an MTYPE of 2372
4) Delete your rootfs.img file to force the installer to re-run (and to clean away any custom qwerty.kl files you may have)
5) Boot into Wing Linux and let the installer run
6) Your Key Mappings is up to date and you do not need to modify it anymore!

Tried to install but it seems to be hanging in an htcharald login: screen where nothing happens. When i push some buttons some letters appear but there is no key to accept apparently. Using ELF for this. Also there are multiple cabs in the Wing Linux package, one big one and a couple of smaller ones that all seem to be the same thing (if you install them they will keep telling you that they will uninstall the old version before installing.)
Any tips?
instal first the big cab and then th e herlad one...
after that donload the zimge-elf and change its name to overwritte the original...
then you have reach as far as me... you can run android, just wait
BECAUSE THE FIST LOADING IS AS SLOW AS BALLS...

you dont lose your wm by doing this. android must be started from within wm, so u can get ride of it by just deleting the folder.
a soft-reset on the phone will take u back to wm.

First of all Thanks a ton, for your post. I was eager to try Andriod OS. I followed your given steps and successfully was able to run Andriod but I am facing some problems, hope you can help. First problem is that my SIM does not have password, but still it says NO NETWORK (didn't remember exact error message), therefore cannot make any calls. Another problem is that when I press the end call button (the RED one) it keeps on showing a verbose view and some scrolling text after every few seconds. Whats the problem and how to rectify it?

20 Jul - Update on GPS Lock
Along with some user reports, I have also had the GPS lock and then drop after 30 seconds. I now believe that the A-GPS is the issue. Possibly dependent on the server address you put in. I am now running with A-GPS deactivated (a simple registry setting) and find that the normal GPS works beautifully.
Please run the attached AGPS_Off.cab which will change your AGPS FixMode to 0 instead of 2. Or if you wish to just edit the registry, it is:

To reverse, simply change back to '2' with a suitable registry editor.

Has been identified as missing (stock WM icon shows instead). To rectify, please download the attached file and simply copy to the \windows directory. After a soft reset it will then display correctly. This will be changed permanently in a future ROM update.

GPS Notes
This build has now been tested simultaneously on three separate TG01s using Eficasoft GPS Utilities, Garmin Mobile XTand also Google Maps. It is noted to exhibit certain eccentric behaviours, but these are considered due to the interface between the navigation applications build and not this particular ROM edition.
- Individual TG01s may have slightly different GPS receiver sensitivities. One of my devices is noticeably quicker and more consistent at attaining and sustaining a lock with Garmin XT. However, using GPS Utilities, all of them show very similar charactaristics.
- I have used the following Settings:
o Settings | External GPS | GPS Program Port : GPD9, Hardware : (None), Access [Check] Manage GPS automatically
o Garmin XT - Use GPS Intermediate Driver
o Google Maps - Menu | Options | GPS Settings | My Location Settings [Check] Managed by Windows. Also Menu | Options | Use GPS [Check]
o NB. Google Maps and Garmin XT will run concurrently, but only if Google Maps is started first. In this case there is no requirement for GPS Gate or other intermediate application. This may however be needed for other navigation software. I have not tested with TomTom, iGo or any other applications.
- It is important to give the device an initial Location – the A-GPS can help here if you have a data connection active; also can be manually set in the navigation software. This may significantly shorten acquisition time.
- Solidity of initial lock seems to be important. If booted or soft reset in the car with a re-radiating antenna active (ie. Excellent signal) and allowed to sit for a few minutes, the satellite bars progressively get bigger after a while. This also seems to result in a stronger and more resilient lock and subsequent re-acquisition behaviour.
- If then moved indoors, I have then been able to sustain a lock well inside the house, both up and downstairs, including well away from windows. This is noticeably better at night than during daytime; probably something to do with the relative position of satellites and time of day.
- The sustained lock can be maintained for long periods (six or seven hours) without any break. Re-acquisition following a break seems to be prompt. Resumption of service from ‘Standby’ device state seems to be similarly quick.
- After initial flash of the ROM, I found one TG01 instantly responded and acquired (indoors !), one took a few soft resets followed by the in-car high signal density scenario above and the third was more difficult – I ended up re-flashing the ROM and then a couple of S/Rs and the car treatment. But now all three seem to be running successfully and consistently. In case of dropping out and not appearing to want to re-acquire, the best advice seems to be do a Soft Reset, preferably in a high signal-strength environment.

Thanks for the claification. Kevin, it appears that you have basically used the stock uk rom and tidied it up. What would be useful is to produce a 6.5.5 rom with the uk radio since this appears to be more reliable in terms of signal....by the way I am a Londoner!

Tony,
It is a hybrid of the stock UK and IT WM6.5 ROMs extensively 'cleaned' and with the various refinements mentioned in the original post. If you are after a WM6.5.x edition with a different radio it is quite a simple step to take one of the various fully 'cooked' offerings and splice together with the IT Radio. If you ask the original chef they may well be happy to provide, or you could try doing yourself - it is a good first step to learning how everything fits together !

- Afer following the instructions you'll have an up to date bin.
2) START HERE IF YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATED ROM BUT WITHOUT MALEZ RECOVERY
- It's time to install the malez recovery
- If you didn't, install your USB drivers now...: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Ap...&SC=EMEA_27
- Download the malez recovery 0.5.4: http://www.multiupload.com/402AVV1SI9
- unzip the archive and click install-recevery-windows.bat while your phone is ON
- Your phone will reboot several times during this process
3) START HERE IF YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATED ROM AND THE MALEZ RECOVERY
- Almost done...
- Download ROM LS 2.1 (you'll find the links below)
- Connect your phone to the computer, activate the date-exchange by usb (once you've plugged in your phone a notification will appear, tap it)
- Copy the downloaded file in the main directory of your SD Card (Without extracting it) [Please Note: You've to copy this file in the MAIN DIRECTORY not in a sub-folder]
- Reboot your phone in recovery mode (If you did pass trought 'point 2', you'll find, in the malez recovery's pack, the file "reboot to recovery.bat" doubleclick it with your phone plugged in by usb, if you didn't, well, its better to download it from the point 2 or from this link if you're to lazy to scroll the page up: http://www.multiupload.com/402AVV1SI9 .
- Once you're on recovery's main screen you'll have to move through its menu by Volume UP/Volume Down buttons
- Go to "Flash/Test menu" and press the MENU button (the last touch button of your acer liquid, the one with three stripes)
- Press Menu once more
- Go to SDCARD:LS2.1 and press MENU
- press HOME (bottom left) and wait for the process to end
- Once this installation ends press BACK (the "<" button) to go back to the main menu, then press MENU to reboot your phone.
- If you want to delete added aps (the ones in /data) and to have a clean ROM it's the moment to do a "Wipe Data Factory", obviously the widgets of the removed apps won't work and you'll have to delete them from your home. I suggest to keep them cause they're very useful.
4) START HERE IF YOU ALREADY INSTALLED THE ROM LS
- Congratulations!
- The first boot will last a bit more than the usual, don't worry.
- Once you're phone is on, select your language and follow the setting wizard
- Once the wizard finised go to the apps menu and open LSsettings
- Here you can set the touchscreen sensitivity and many other things
- If you'd like to install the theme pack or an OC kernel (if you don't know what an oc kernel is don't install it, you don't need to); you'll find links below; every pack has got a README file explaining how to install it
- Tip: select HTC_IME keyboard by holding a textbox
- Once you've set the ROM reboot your phone.
- Now The ROM LS is installed and ready to use! Have Fun!
NOTES
- Once you've turned on your phone, tap the taskmanager widget to end every app you dont need
- Don't WIPE your phone after the installation or you'll lose every added app. If you accidently wipe it, simply re-flash this ROM.
- App + Data on SD may causes really problems to the system. Please, choose app on SD only

I faced with one small but very distressing problem. During typing SMS message I pushed Erase button several times and quickly. As result - a message receved by itself unfinished.(It happened again when I tested if i was wrong)

Does the LS2.1 support Chinese language???
Hiya... I'm just wondering if this rom will support chinese language overall n is my current rom (Acer_LiquidE_1.100.09_AAP_GEN2) compatible to this? Beside, will it be possible to return to the stock rom afterward?

Question about swipe and voice to text...
Hi there, first thanks Lainsuxeian for the amazing rom, speedy and beautiful.
Now question - for member here, does this rom has swipe as in slide your finger on keyboard to type a word? cause I can't seem to activate it.
Question 2 - Does the voice to text work? the icon is in the keyboard. however when i touch it, nothing happend.
Question 3 - Has any1 overclock their phone yet? which 1 is best in your opinion, stability? 880? 920? or 998? ....since they lainsuxian post 3 option, that's suppose to work, i'm still a litto affraid so i am asking every1 in here to see how their is doing, about 5 vote is good, thank you very much
