Could you explain? Plz tell me the way?
I tried to update UK ROM and JP ROM but it still stood at Toshiba logo or NTT Docomo logo.

If you take your sim card out, look closely, that is a black label, where the sim would be, peel it up, and you will see some pins
You can find more information on this forum

I had loaded UK ROM, FR, DE, IT, RO.. rom before, but it stood at Toshiba logo, sometimes, in process loading ROM, it shows "NAND error". I have found in many websites, it must to be loaded eboot (IPL) again. So I want to ask how to make eboot and how to load it back to my device? Thanks for all your help!

Help us to slove the problem with Toshiba logo flashing at startup? I can't find the way to pass!

?
can you download the ENG ROM to your T-01A?
As I know, the japanese TG01(type t01a) can only use japanese rom.
can you tell me how you download the ENG ROM to your T-01A?

Any solution? Toshiba logo flash at startup?

?
I dont know what you mean.

It stand at Toshiba (logo) letter and does not come Orange logo.
I have tried many way (hard reset, flash other ROM - FR, IT, UK, DE..) but it doesn't work, start at Toshiba (DOCOMO) letter.
I find the reason that it need to write over Eboot, IPL to normal boot. Sorry for my poor English.

why not you flash back to japanese rom?
I think you have a t01a ,right?hh

yes, stepw help me to use UK ROM and flash via sddl+, I used UK ROM to test for 1 month but it refuses to boot after I install other Keyboard software

@minhanh_tran
get a original update rom for you phone T01A_to_SP50_wm65.exe
use 7-zip to extract T01A_to_SP50_wm65.tsd
erase all data on sd card.
make a prg folder sd card
copy T01A_to_SP50_wm65.tsd to prg on sd card
rename on sd T01A_to_SP50_wm65.tsd to T01A_to_SP50_wm65.enc
remove stripe under sim.
secure the battery in place with duct tape so it will not fall out.
power the phone.
shortcut pin 1 and 3 an press reset.
release reset
keep shorting pins 1 and 3 for couple of seconds.
stop shorting and turn the phone with screen up.
now you should have white screen with text on it announcing that flash is downloading into phone.
if you cannot get white screen your phone firmware is corrupted and is nothing to do then send it to warranty.
if you get NAND error while flashing is probably because your NAND flash chip is defective and can't store data on some part of it. i suspect that is the case and that cause initial malfunction (if it happened without you flashing anything). in that case your only option is warranty as the chip must be replaced.
if you still want IPL you could use my tgtool do dump it from original rom.
however i doubt that you have the tools and maybe know how to JTAG cpu and load IPL directly.

Seek advice on NO BOOTLOAD Screen

My MDA was unable to get back to bootload after a unsuccessful ROM upgrading. Is it possible to replace the ROM (hardware) so that I can save my MDA?
I tried the Power on key and softreset to reset it but only return to a messive screen.
Pls help. Thanks
cris...
you dont need to replace the hardware rom!!
try runing the upgrade program again, it sometimes picks up where it left off. if that dont work, try the SD card method.
i'd go into more details, but all that info is here in these forums already.
if u still need help though, contact me, and i'll try to help you.
good luck
Dear Ntabikha,
Thanks v much!
However, I tried the upgrade program many times and the decktop just said the computer cannot recognise the device.
So, I think method 1 is not possible.
For method two, I will try to put the nk.nbf file into my SD card and put it in the device and see whether the MDA can pick up the ROM. Will let you know whether it is successful.
BTW, when the screen is on, it only appears some fuzzy horizontal lines and two small empty boxes, have you seen this before?
Chris
yes, i had the same fuzzy lines. i fixed That problem via the SD card method.
just remember that, you have to write the nbf file to SD card, not just copy it to SD card
dont laugh, i did that mistake at first
good luck
How can I "write" it to the card?
I thought I only copy the file to the card through a SD reader.
Well, I know now, use rom kitchen to cook the rom and use osimagetool to copy the nb1 file into a sd card.
All i need to do next is to insert into the MDA and press power button together with softreset key for several times until successful....
Dear ntabikha,
I am still unable to obtain the bootloading screen of my MDA after inserting the SD with nb1 file written by xdatool. I tried many times power button and soft reset simultaneously (more than 20times) and the screen are still full of messy lines and 2 big empty boxes.
Can you help please? What is the fix broken bootloader in the xdatool?
I really did search around the forum but still can't be able to get back the bootloader screen. Pls help.

I'm wondering if you could not see bootloading screen , how could you use SD card to restore OS and bootloader ?
No, there is no bootloading screen at all.
I took the MDA out to a repair shop and they said that is a hardware failure. And they don't have the stock to replace it.
But I don't believe that cause I was just downloading the OS. It shouldn't hurt the hardware that much.....

I fixed couple such phones "horizontal lines and two small empty boxes" due to failure upgrading (all flash ROM messed up).
You have to use hardware flash ROM writer to wire the flash ROM pin to write bootloader and CE directly to chip.
I can help you to fix the problem (I'm in Canada, my email is [email protected])
Hi, I have similar trouble. My boss upgrade his MDA TMO (Austria) to official TMO version of OS and now it coming only to splash screen. MDA doesn't sync through cradle, doesn't seems to be charged, and I cannot enter BOOT mode for flashing ROM from SD card.
Is there any chance to fix it by myself?
Thanx, Ivan

If you don't have a working OS and a working bootloader, the only solution is hardware solution. You have to wire the flash chip directly to the flash ROM writer ...

Stuck in bootloader after failed flash

Hi, got some problems with one of my employes Herald (not simlocked or anything).
It ended up on my desk after complaints about it rebooting by itself every minute or so. I figured I could sort it out by upgrading to wm6. Wen to HTCs website and downloaded the official RUU (HTC_P4350_SVE_4.17.413.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe). Everything went along fine and I left it upgrading on my desk and went for lunch.
When I got back it said that the update had failed and I followed the recover function but without success.
Now Im stuck in bootloader mode, and when I try to update it again the current image version is listed as blank and I get to about 1-2 percent before it shuts down and gives "ERROR [244]: INVALID MODEL ID".
Any suggestions on what to do?

You can try using USPL or HARDSPL to flash.
The USPL will get around CID locks
This is from ivan's A Herald's Guide to Flashing Aserg, USPL and HARD-SPL - xda-developers
II. How do I flash an NBH file?
Warning: To use the NBH ways, you MUST have a SPL of 4.0 or higher. If you have a lower SPL, you WILL brick your phone.
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3.
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.
Thanks for the reply,
First, I cant get activesync to find the phone, only evidence of contact in between the phone and PC is that its listed as [Windows CE USB Devices+PocketPC USB Sync] in device manager. I tried to uspl flash with ASERG.8, and it stops at "STEP 1/3...."
I downloaded mtty to see if it could connect, and it did.
Any further suggestions on what might work!
uninstall..reset.. clean install would probably get activesync to work w the phone..
Reinstalled activesync without any change. And soft/hard reseted everything…
Tried to flash via sd as per instructions in another thread, got to "checking SD contents" and then straight to triple-color bootloader.
Help me please! ;D
Cant help getting the feeling that Im completely screwed...
Cant get activesync to recognize it, only way to get it to light up is via bootloader (camera + reset button), everything ive tried to flash it with hangs almost instantly.
As a complete novice my guess is that the current rom is corrupted and I badly need advice on how to go on. The sd-flash seems quite logical but I cant get it to work. Ive tried to overwrite my sd with 00-values in winhex and then placing the original ruu [HERAIMG.nbh] (through windows, is there a way to write data with winhex?) on the card without any success.
Any suggestions on what to try is much appreciated.
Sounds like the SPL got corrupted or partially written only... sorry. Repair center time. You can also placing your Stock RUU's nbh file into your SD card and renaming it to... umm.. I forget... and then flashing FROM the phone.
facdemol said:
You can't simply place the rom file to the card and hope the device will read it in this way. In my time working for pda service, we used WINHex to format the card (to RAW-unformatted) and then we wrote the rom file in RAW format to the card. Your card looks like an endless stream of hexazecimal values. Only winhex recognises this format, if you insert the card to the computer, it will simply ask you to format it. After inserting this card into the pda, it will start the upgrade . The order of this operation was, as I remember, to fill the card with 0000 values (there is an option in WINHex, a kind of format) then write the rom file to the card in RAW mode. Then insert the card to the device.

Thanks for the reply, before giving up and sending it in for repair I would like to give the sd-flash a proper try... So far Ive managed to format the card with winhex but I cant really figure out how to write to the card in raw format. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
i managed to do the steps said above ... formated the card in RAW format etc but still the phone won't turn on ... it will only stay in bootloader ...

If I'm correct, you told us a few post above thisone you placed your SD card with the imghera.nbh and got "checking sd conents" and then it went to bootloader.
As far as i can recall you need to get your Herald into bootloader first and then place your SD card with the IMGHERA.nbh file on it. Then it should start reading the image from, your SD card.
Judging from your first post you haven't been using the asigned RUU from the HTC website if this was your first rom flash to WM6 and you got a vendor error. Try to convert and use that one when you flash from sd card.

Ive been trying to flash with the WM6 RUU I downloaded from HTC's site (the one that bricked it) since that is the only local (swedish) and official one I could find. Have I misinterpreted it all and the only thing that could do the trick for me is WM5.1?
Ive also been trying to contact the HTC service dept for over a weeks time ending up in a deadend overfilled voicemailbox - meanwhile my warrantyperiod ran out... Any suggestion on what to do?

I have a few things for you to consider. The first is your IPL and SPL numbers. Your numbers are 1.08.xxxx You should start by searching for a safe method for flashing your phone based on such a low IPL (if there even is a method). From what I understand, in order to flash these custom roms you MUST be HardSPL'd.
If you do not have an IPL of 4.xx.xxxx or higher then you cannot HardSPL your herald.
I assume that because you are not HardSPL'd with the security fix not in place you are unable to flash anything other than a stock rom. My suggestion is to look for an OEM or stock rom update that can hopefully get you to a higher IPL/SPL number. I know that my service provider (t-mobile) has a download available for the wing so look into that first.
Hopefully another member can clarify if you can or cannot flash a custom rom with an IPL as low as yours. I hope this helps in some way. Good luck.

hi,
if you haven't fixed your issue yet,
the best way is to have a good read of the two discussions i've given below. both require you to have a working windows mobile device. it could even be a PDA.
using which u need to create a goldcard.
i suggest you use the qmat method as described in this post
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3224093&postcount=100
either ways, read the forums fully, then see what you can do. one of these will work for sure, once you get the gold card created, u can load any rom, the original or even a higher one from htc herald.
the urls u need to review are
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417930

this will help you get your phone back... if its loading into bootloader, it means ur phone can still be saved.

[Q] How to use a Goldcard

Oke guys here's my queston.
First look at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939763&page=3
My radio is probably bricked, so now i'm trying to use a goldcard:
I managed to get the CID of my SD card.
Reversed the CID of the 2 Gb is: 009b000a6daf00804732305553445303
With a little help of this forum i now have a goldcard and put an original LEOIMG on the goldcard.
Still no solution, the bootscreen flashes off/on 1 time and then returned into bootscreen. No attempt of flashing seen. What went wrong??
Thanks in advance!
first the obvious questions, (quite often its somethign dead simple) ,
you extracted ruu_signed.nbh and didnt just rename the whole .exe to .nbh?
How did you write the .img to the card? ? you
How did you get the CID?
let me have the two CIDS (dont reverse them or anything, just as you got them) and an email address and ill make you an image for each disk, that way you have three to try.

on a normal sd card, this usually indicates either wrong stock rom being used (sure the rom you are using is for your region AND carrier?((if locked)), or an sd card that isn't set up right (freshly format it, FAT32 )
It might point to the goldcard image being wrong, or incorrectly written to the card.
I extracted the original HTC HD2 dutch rom, took of the ruu_signed.nbh, copied it to the goldcard en renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh
I got the CID by using a working adroid phone together with the tutorial from "theunlocker.com" (sdk/adb-app en hex-app)
The 2 onreversed CID's are:
1gb
035344535530314780606ca6f10079a6
2gb
03534453553032478000af6d0a009b8e

thanks!
Hey Magazijn if your problem is not a hardware issue then you have the right guy working with you now. Samsamuel will have you up and running again I am sure of it. Just remember though if you are using USB to flash and not SD card then always put your HD2 into bootloader and wait for the USB tben flash this is a trusted method. And don't forget to click Samsamuel's thanks button when he gets you going. Peace.
heh, cheerleader fees in the post.
@OP sorry for the delay, theres a step by step to double check you are writing teh image correctly HERE
Thanks for the quick solution samsamuel, but still the same problem.
After Boot the screen builds up again in boot and that's it.
So i think it's an hardware radioproblem with can't be fixed.
Should a hardware repair help me out?
Last question i used original dutch LEOIMG (winmo 6.5), can i use another (android of winmo) rom?
If yes, which would you prefer.
Again thank for your help, i appreciate it.
hmm, not sure what to suggest. As i said b4, a brief 'loading' then back to bootloader usually indicates the wrong rom. Are you sure your phone is an unbranded dutch phone? did you download that rom with your serial number from the htc website? (it will only let you download correct roms if you use serial)
This shouldnt matter if the goldcard is working, but if you KNOW its the correct rom, it can be discounted as the cause.
