help please - Droid Eris Android Development

i wanted to say thanks for all the hard work guys and gals . and id like to know if it is possible to port a iphone app over to the eris the app name is color snap
thanks in advance

You or the creator of the app would have to convert the app over to the Android SDK, the iphone SDK and Android SDK are different so its not as simple as just porting the app over. Please use the search tool this has been covered many times on XDA, just not for that particular app.

ahh very sorry was looking for the specific app or if some one could make one like it possibly if some one was looking for a project . for a house painter or a decorator this would be very helpful

Need an App Idea

Hello All,
Next semester is my final semester at college (I'm finally graduating in May ) and I have been wanting to develop an App for my final Senior Project.
So I wanted to get some app ideas from you guys, something useful to develop.
Thanks
how about this:
Create an app that holds a picture for a calendar event, when this app is run, I want to be able to make a photo, and post it in my agenda.
Think flyers and posters! I'm getting tired of the fact theres no app out there that can do this. I've wanted this for 5 years now!
You would make my day!

I'd like to see some form of dedicated forum browser or plugin that can take the information from a message board like this one and make it easier to view on a mobile. I know there's an app that does something like that already but that requires a plugin for the forum and I'm refusing to pay for an app that will only read boards with that plugin.
If it can display mobile sites in a way that they're meant to be viewed that'd also be good (have a look at mobile.bcfc.com in various mobile browsers).
Thanks for the ideas guys, but I might have found a great idea. I'll be doing a little more research on it.
Thanks
Outlook Sync app for Android without going through the cloud!
A content management system client that can be hooked to any enterprise CMS. You can add support for popular ones and user can pick one during setup.
Heres an idea....

Good info. Very helpful attitude. Well done.
you starting from zero? or do you know any java or any other OO languages? if you were familiar with java then you'll know the worst part of it is swing... bleh. but android really does a great job of being able to easily create pretty powerful ui's good luck!
Check out anddev.org. Useful tutorials that helped me learn a lot.

On the link below I've uploaded the source code for my first app(look on the open source. Page). I have added a lot of labeling to the main Java file

[Q] My board as an Android App?

Hello there,
i'm the owner of a small board with just onenor two thousand active users and they always try to force me to "invent" an application for their mobile phones to access my forum. Since i have an Android phone, most of my users have Android and Android is easier to publish and create, i decided to look for an App for my forum for Android devices!
I don't know much about programming and coding, so i googled for some kind of a building tool, but didn't find anything. I want to make my forum accessable from Android devices! The tool, if something like that exists, should not end up in a final 100% perfect version of my board.
I'm happy about every single answer you guys are able to give!
Best regards
Poly
Research tapatalk.
Already heard about tapatalk, but doesn't the user download the tapatalk app to access my forum? I would appreciate an app which shows my board icon and name...
What about Google Appinventor? Is it easy to work myself into?
Btw i don't want to pay for this project, since my members also won't pay for the app!
Tapatalk can be a dedicated single forum app. For example look at the XDA forum app. That's based on the tapatalk framework. Its definitely the way to go.

I know, but on the Tapatalk Website a single app for my forum costs for a lot of money for android as well as for iOS.

Looking to make a simple first app - need some guidance

Hi all,
Was looking for some guidance. I want to make a very simple app. Your traditional wallpaper app - I know there are already a ton out there, but I want to experiment. Basically have the user browse by category, then download a wallpaper. For someone who has never made an app, what is a good way to go about it? Would you recommend starting from scratch or using one of those free app websites? I know a little bit of Java, not nearly enough to make an app, but I wouldn't mind learning (lotta free time ATM). Is this something that can easily be made with a free app website? I've looked into those, but am not fully sure what their capabilities are. Any advice would be appreciated!
Apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum!
I'd start by installing Android Studio. Then I would dissect what your attempting to do here in goals and separate the coding tasks. Then I would glean what I could from the reference.
Start with simple apps
