Connect nexus one to Ps3? - Nexus One General

I read somewhere about a guy who put shows on his nexus one and then put it on the ps3. Is it possible? I put a movie in my sdcard and when I connect it too the ps3 it gives me only one file "digital camera movies" which has nothing in it. Please help?

Have you tried mounting the SD card when you plug it in?

thats what I do and the only folder that shows up in the ps3 is "Digital Camera Movies" which isnt even on my SDcard.

DLNA?
install twonky media from the market and your PS3 will "find" your N1 on the network, then you can browse and play music/pictures/media.

I thought the PS3 only recognizes certain folders, or you have to click Triangle then show all or something

Dude, spend the ten dollars and buy a 2 GB flash drive. Why would you want to put the stress of streaming a movie from your phone and the SD Card in your phone?
I did not try it with a video file, but the PS3 does recognize and mount the sdcard in the N1.
So, I am pretty sure if you have a move file that is recognized by the PS3 on your phone then you can copy it to the playstation or play it from the sdcard.
The steps to do this are.
plug the phone into the Ps3
mount the sd card through your phone UI
go to the movies menu on the ps3 select the one that says nexus one
press triangle
select display all
navigate to your movie
Simple. I do it all the time with my cruzer flash drive.

oh ok. it worked lol. i kept clicking in the folder and it says more info when you click triangle but when you click under nexus is says view all

Exec + Xbox360

Though i'd give it a go
Running the CardExport software on the Exec, an Xbox 360 will quite happily see the Exec and stream music and pictures off it

Very cool, glad someone found a way around that. I've just been using my 360 to charge my jasjar.
But unfortunately we can't stream that same data whilst playing say...NFS most wanted!!!
Don't suppose anyone knows how to get MP3s onto the XBox360 hard-drive??

you cant' save mp3s into the 360 harddrive. if you can play the audio files from your JasJar, you should be able to use it as custom soundtrack with your games. i have not tried this on a JasJar yet but I've been doing it with my iPod

Found out how tro play your Exec music while in games.
1. During the game press the central X button to bring up menu on left
2. Scroll down to Select Music
3. Select Portable device from menu
4. Select your folder storing your music
5. Hit Play!
Your Exec stored musci will play instead of the games normal tunes.
Tested this with PGR 3 and Call of Duty 2
Kinda wierd storming El Alamien to "Is this the Way to Amarillo"
My Own music in NFS Most Wanted!!
Thanks for all your replies and help guys. Got my MP3's on the harddrive via burnt Audio CD's and accessed them via the 'central' 'X' on the controller. Thanks again.
does this only show the expandable memory? what about the ram on the device itself, can you browse through that?
Using the CardExport software you only get to see the SD card. No actual memory on the Exec/PDA itself.
So any music or vid's need to be on the SD card
Yesterday i found this on the net.

it's a guide how to stream divx to your xbox360. maybee there is some interesting info that we can use.

File location for Avatar

I expanded my SD and moved Avatar from the 2GB card onto a 16GB, however i am not sure where i need to place the file so it links up with the avatar icon on the device. Any help would be great!
avatar.dcf goes into a directory called Movie on the SD card
The icon wont work but you can put it anywhere and run it from the movie player.
I downloaded the system dump and tried to install the avatar.apk but it didn't work. Is it even possible for me to install it?

why would you want to its just a shortcut that launches the movie. not the movie itself
Not trying to be a douche but this isnt android development.
Were you able to successfully move the file. I've heard it can't be moved, if it can be moved that would be awesome so I can put my 16GB card in my phone.

I was able to move it to my dad's 8gb card. I put it in the supplied card reader and put it in my computers card reader. Then i attached the phone to the computer with the supplied cable with the 8gb card IN THE PHONE. Next i just did a simple cut and paste with the movie folder on the T-Mobile 2gb memory card.
ETA- It works with the icon too.

ok wen u copied ur 2gb to 8gb u just moved the files, this is wat u need to do so it can work, will work on any size card.
the avatar movie file is a dcf. it loads using DRM protocol on the vibrant. it can't be distributed to another system. unless you can get around the rights usage on it. which i can't. lol
the 3gp file is just a 3 minute trailer the actual movie file is a dcf file and is 1.4gb, the "avatar" icon in the apps menu is an actual app the plays the dcf file for the movie. right now im trying to copy both the dcf and the 3gp file to my sd card from my friends new vibrant then i adb pull /system/avatar/ /android for the apk file to install on to my nexus one. we'll see if the apk will install.

The trailer file is a 3gp but the actually move is a dcf
Adb pull /system/apps/avatar and pushing it to any other phone doesn't work. I think it looks for a signature of the phone model and if it doesn't match up it wont install. Maybe some editing of the files will help make it work. Also with some research of the 1.4gb file dcf file is actually encrypted so either the vibrant or the app has the key. I will look into this further when I get a chance to mess with my buddy's vibrant again. The dcf file has a better resolution than one I can make with my copy of the DVD into a 3gp which is my reason for doing this.

[REQ] The demand of HOLY GRAIL Porting - TV OUT

We All most have the perfect device;
One for personal use and another for a more professional use.
But to be 100% lack of finding the Holy Grail porting the HD2 .... the ability to have TV OUT on Android Ports.
it will be Possible to find the Holy Grail?
.
its not possible as hd2 doesnt have video out
you can't port it because hd2 lacks the needed hardware
I think the problem is in USB port.....maybe a 3 party, could make a usb port MOD.
i'm just dreaming...
I'm able to see my videos, fotos and musics in my TV..... with HD2 (wimo).... via WD TV, and charge it.
But in Android i can't do that.....the HD2 (android) detects the USB conection , open de SDcard and charges....but the WD TV can't detect HD2 (android).
Why in winmo WDTV can play my storage SDcard, and Droid no?
Try Automount from the market and see if that works for it. If not MountUSB Widget from the market forces a mount and might do the trick.

nice, i would of never thought of connecting my hd2 to my wd tv live box... gonna try it out soon. thx for the heads up!!
I was able too, conected my HD2 to my USB Audio CAR.....but all, audio files play mixed.....ok no problem......but first play the phone ringtones.
Someone know a workround or tip, to USB CAR put the ringtones on the end of the list...or a way of the USB car system, not reconize them.
maybe a edit on the ringtones folder?
OR delete all ringtones, and just have the one or two, that i use....thats it!
I can handle a mixed playlist....but without ringtones.
thanks
i think i read somewhere else about making the ringtones a hidden file. they are still suppose to work correctly to the phone, but your music player won't see them anymore. i haven't tried this myself thou, so i can not confirm this. good luck!

Do you have the SD card in the phone, and are the movies in the "Transformers" folder on it? That's how it should be from stock, but I don't know if you are the original owner of the phone, etc
I am the original owner and the movies are in that folder. Thanks though.
Hey Reynaldo...that is my dads name cool!
When you are trying to click on the movies you don't have your computer connected to a computer with the data cable because depending on what option you select it unmounts the SD card making everything on there inaccessible so it is like it is not there...also...you didn't format your card did you. go to file explored and looks on the sd card and look for the folder that says transformers...if there is no folder then there are no movies. the quicklink might still be there but not the movies.

[Q] best app to play mkv x264 video files with ac3 audio?

I searched through several threads on the forum and after much frustration haven't found a solution to my problem yet.
I have a Nexus Player and connected a USB thumbdrive to play media from it. The videos are x.264 w/AC3 audio. I also have a 7.2 Onkyo A/V Receiver that can do all the audio processing.
On my Nexus 10 I can play these media files with MX Player, but when I try to use the same program on the Nexus Player it says "AC3 audio not supported"
How can I just pass the audio directly to the A/V receiver? Or do I need to use another media player software? I'm open to suggestions. NOTE: I do not want to transcode any files, or stream them. I want to be able to play them locally from the usb thumbstick.
No clue if it is compatible, but Kodi is definitely the favorite around these parts
how to find usb device from filesystem?
Sweet thanks! after sideloading Kodi I can get the video file to play if I launch it from ES File explorer. However, I don't know where to find the usb drive in the filesystem to mount the directory in Kodi itself for easy access. I looked all over but I must have missed something. Shouldn't it be under /mnt? When I try to look at the file path when the video is running within kodi it shows http://127.0.0.1:59777/usb/UsbStorage ...

I guess I should have refreshed my screen. you replied about an hour ago. thanks for that! I was about to kick myself for missing that but actually I do not have a usbStorage directory or sdb1 anywhere to be seen. Do i need to mount it somehow other than just plugging it in? When I go to External Storage it just shows the contents of sdcard if i'm not mistaken. Under storage it only shows emulated and sdcard0.
