Rollback to 1.5 from 2.1? - Droid Eris Android Development

I read this "roll back down to 1.5 it can and has been done by other devs" in another thread as well as other reports of successful rollback.
Is this true? If so, is someone willing to outline the rollback process?
I have searched and I have only found references to successful rollback. I am personally not looking to rollback but this information would be helpful and if it is clearly stated here it may stop the constant barrage of rollback questions in the "leak" thread. Thanks

It is NOT possible to roll back from 2.1 to 1.5.
Many of the devs have tried various methods to do this and it just isn't possible.
In the various root threads the devs speculated that it was possible, but it turns out the way the 2.1 upgrade works makes it impossible.

Need a complete guide.

Hey guys i have come from the Galaxy ace forums and my friend wants to upgrade his SGS which i agreed to do
He's on stock right now and wants to experience CM and root
I searched a lot and did not get a full proof guide for complete upgrading from stock
can anyone please guide me
And after searching the development section i concluded to flash Slim beans...it looks promising and stable
Please help me how to upgrade to slim beans from stock
thank you
Dont be lazy & read the forums. There where many before u. Even I did it once (to be exact just two weeks ago) just by searching & reading on xda & google. The thing is if u come across problems before/during/after process most times it happened to someone already & solutions are already there. So no excuses, search harder. I found alot that helped me flashing from stock for the first time (I didnt even know what rooting, kernel, odin etc. was couple of weeks ago). Its a little effort on your side. It seems you know more than when I was starting coming from the ace forums so imo The last option should be starting a new thread, especially for this specific question. Nevertheless here is a start

I'm quite accustomed with all the words and everything
I myself flash at least 2 roms per week on my SGA
But for SGS I don't know how to go about
And I searched but there is no full proof guide which includes everything hence the starting of this thread
Baseband version of his phone is

Asking about root for Lollipop (a small community rebuke)

Hello guys,
at first I want to say that I am really happy to be a member of this community, where so many users from different countries with different devices come together
and conducting experience exchange. This community is really important for every G3 user, especially to be updated on latest software or to solve problems.
But what really drives me nuts is the ongoing asking about how to root Lollipop in every possible thread.
The answers are mostly the same, what makes this question (let it be a post or a thread) almost useless.
Not only that it annoys me if I am continuously reading the same things, it also makes the whole forum confusing and relevant informations may go missing.
Why we cant create a seperate thread for rooting Lollipop whereto all this issue regarding threads will get removed?
And let us be honest: If you are not able to collect knowledge about rooting from the already existing threads, you shouldnt do it anyway.
Sorry but that had to be said
Just my 2 cents!

Wrong section for your REBUKE. We have Mods who determine whats right or wrong to post and they delete or move threads accordingly.
This rant is a waste of time and space. IMO should be in the Q & A Section but thats for the moderators to decide.
The next big thing will be to ROOT the G3 in its Lollipop/ART state which is why you see this question asked everywhere.
whoever comes up with a way to do this is worthy of praise.
I think the hardest thing to do is 1) Tell everyone at once that it doesn't exist yet, and 2) Tell everyone once it's achieved!
Sticky's do not work, in this day and age where information is so readily and quickly available, most people will not read pages of Q&A, no point discussing it it just will not happen.
Would be nice if once root on stock is done, that a message could be sent to anyone who's posted keywords 'root' + 'stock' under the LG G3 forums. Maybe that's an app in itself. IFFFT + Pushbullet etc etc
I second that my man. RoOT me stock G3 xda
we want to do something about the root Lollipop, please let

Hi Friend,
Please try this thread that I just created: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-update-to-lollipop-root-bumpd-twrp-t3048845
...it's tested to be working fine for my LG G3 variant (D858HK). The steps are from this original thread; I just added an extra manual step (and my thread looks long because I tried to detail the step, with pictures).

Advice on Purchase

Hello,
I'm strongly considering picking up a LePro 3, but I do have some concerns. I understand that the stock software isn't very good and I'm looking towards the community to create excellent ROMs for this device, but I do have some questions:
Do we have a clean method for root/unlock/recovery?
Is there anything stopping developers from putting together ROMs that are optimized for every aspect of the phone? i.e. enough source from LeEco?
How would you say developer support is for this device? I'm a fan of official ROM builds instead of using unofficial. Has anyone announced upcoming support for this device that I can look forward to?
Aside from that, feel free to mention anything else I should be aware of before purchasing the phone!
Thanks so much!

I have no idea what you mean by clean but if you can use adb then yes we do. If you are looking for a one stop shop all in one unlocker then the answer is no. look here for current method:

I believe all source code has been released.

There is minimal development currently. One person is trying to build a Nougat 7.1 Rom. That's a pretty big feat so it will probably be a while. Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/7-1-progress-t3511474
There is a developer that posted a debloated version of the x720(international version) of this rom already. It will work on our x727(US version). It is an older version though so there's that. Look here:

This is literally the smallest compilation of threads I've ever seen for a phone so starting a new thread to ask these questions is pretty silly. Since it's the holidays, I've been nice and responded to what could have easily been found in a couple of minutes.

Thanks for the reply.
The reason I compiled these questions were because I was hoping for more specific answers and some clarity. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough my initial post and for that I apologize.
I was reading what seemed to be conflicting information about the recovery software and process in which to flash it to the device. It looked as if there wasn't any goto method or specific TWRP version to go with and that this was still somewhat experimental.
It's good to know that the source has been released. I was seeking info about LeEco and people were saying that they didn't release source code for their phones as company policy.
While I've visited the ROM forum section, I was hoping someone would have insight into official ROMs instead of what currently exists there.
For the US model Le Pro 3 (X727) I would recommend using this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/x727-model-persistent-bootloader-unlock-t3500388) method to unlock the bootloader. That's what I did and had no issues. From there you can use TWRP to do a full wipe and install the ROM of your choice. Of course, I would recommend taking a backup of everything before doing this.
I'm running that CM 13 build with no issues on my X727. It's also possible to get the IR blaster working if desired.

Hello,
I recently updated to B360 Nougat and rooted with revolution recovery and elite kernel. But I do not like the battery life on it. I wish to roll back to latest MM without losing root or at least without losing DATA and APPS. is that possible? I want to use xposed but I didn't realise it does not work on Android 7.0 yet.
Any help would be appreciated as I searched in the forums and by far this is the messiest forum I've ever seen lol duplicate posts some with answers some without! Guides without mentioning its for MM or N. I don't mean to criticise but back when I used Sony their forums are much more detail specific.
Anyway sorry if I offended anyone I did not mean so I just wanted to state out that I'm confused. and thank for whoever helps
Fixed it following several debranding methods.

Best help/instructions for installing Lineage OS on my ONEPLUS 5.

I have had no luck installing lineage OS on my Oneplus 5. I keep running into more errors and questions after each supposed instruction video or website. Please point me in the right direction guys!
I'd point you to the instructions in the official rom thread. Although unfortunate, it is not uncommon to encounter errors. Try to follow each instruction to the word, keeping track of each step you've taken. This ensures that when you encounter an error, you have firm idea at which step it occured.
Most errors and their fixes are usually not unique, so you'll find their troubleshooting by searching the posts in the thread itself. I usually read the last 10 pages of a thread before flashing the corresponding rom/mod.
Finally, instead of looking for a fool-proof instruction set (I doubt there is one, since there are myriad of issues that can occur), try posting your error/logcat/steps in the thread and requesting help. People here are quite helpful in my experience.
My apologies if this is not the answer you expected. Hope you find what you need. Cheers!
