where to put a movie? - HD2 General

Hi i have a avi movie that i want to play through the built in HD2 movie player, obviously i need to put it on my 8gb storage card but how and where should i place this movie and get it to play?
Thanks

the avi wont play with the HTC player or WMP. You will have to convert it first to mp4. Either that or get coreplayer that does support avi (divx/xvid) it doesn't support ac3 audio though.
a player called TCPMP will play them and ac3 audio and that is free. Do a search for it on here.
You can put the file anywhere on your card you like mate

Mp4 Player

I've just got one of these -
http://www.dabs.com/ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=4CVY
It means I can record things from the TV onto an SD and watch them on my M5000 on the tube the next day
What I've found though, it can only record in 3gp, 3g2, mp4 (PSP) and mp4 (ISO), no mp3 or avi...
I've found version 3.60 of PocketDivXEncoder I can convert mp4's to Avi, but I'd love to be able to take the SD card out and plug it straight into my M5000 and go.
I usually use TCMP, but it says mp4 support was removed Anyone got any ideas?
There's an AAC add-on for TCPMP which a quick Google should find. If not I can email it to you.
I've found the very latest TCPMP (v0.8 or something) supports AAC built in. So I'm sorted Thanks.

Windows Media Player (MP4) Converter

Hi
Are there someone recommend softwares for converting MPEG video file into MP4 that can play in Athena WMP 10?
I tried ImTOO converter but my Athena says it doesn't support that file. I have old MP4 files that are able to play in WMP 10.
Thanks
Felcus
install TCPMP and the codec pack then you will be able to play any MP4's !
where to download?
google is your friend ! start with just TCPMP and if that does not work add the codec pack, the codec pack can be a little harder to find so I will up it for you.
Video recorded on HTC touch cannot view on Windows Media PLayer
HI,
can anyone help? I recorded some movie on HTC Touch and when i copied the file to my PC, I can view it on Windows Media Player 11. How can i solve this?
Do you mean you can't view it?
What type of file is it? MP4, 3gp, avi?
Id recommend VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ on the PC for viewing most video files. Its free, lightweight and just works.

I dont know why you did not start your own thread on this but try installing something that can play 3gp files like quicktime
Windows Media Player supports only certain type of Codec. To make WMP support MP4 format, you should install filters for MP4 format and its associated codecs. After you installing these filters, all players that use DirectShow technology, include WMP, will support MP4 format.
Install the following codecs to have a try.
Elecard MPEG-4 Codec Pack
If you can't install or still can't play MP4 in WMP, converting your MP4 to WMP natively supported WMV or AVI format with Faasoft Video Converter is the best choise.

How to play .AVI files on X1?

i remember just dragging n dropping avi movies on my Blackberry bold ..i can just play the movie and enjoy it.
but on X1..the Windows media player says 'cannot play the file'
why?
isnt it supposed to be more friendly with such formats?
NO..i am not willing to pay for a software just to play a world famous .avi format.
avi
simple answer is NO you can not play avi's out of box. you have a couple options....either re-encode the video to another format or dl a different player. I like coreplayer and i know alot of other people like it as well. some people just get the divx player but you have to know what was used to encode the video as avi is only the container file and not the encoder.
most of my videos are DivX encoded...
so is it possible to install DivX codec on X1 and then play those files?
really sad but..i thot i can just drag n drop the movies on my mSD and watch
yeah using coreplayer or TCPMP
not sure if the codecs works with windows mobile media player though
but those 2 players does the job
Okay thanks a lot for the quick response guys.
i got hold of Coreplayer....just wanted to try.
it works..i just dragged n dropped some TV shows and movies ..and they work fine
i have yet to see such an awesome clarity on a mobile phone.
this is even better than bold because i can see the movies in widescreen and the contrast is superb

How to play AVI video on X1

I try to play AVI using the window media player in the X1 but it says "unable to play file".
Are we able to download a prog to play AVI video file for our X1?
a quick "Search" would have solved your problem.
there is CorePlayer that can play many video types, and also TCPMP player which is free.
The best player,...Coreplayer, but will not play AC3 files (movies with 5.1 sound) and is not free.
SmartMovie good player, also can play srt subtittles,....not free.
Free player TCPMP, can play subtittles,....but must be recomp3 version (R3),...search this forum.
Free player DivX Mobile
All this players can play avi files (div, xvid,...)

Can we make Omnia i8000 media player directly play .mkv files?

maybe i missed it, but I cannot directly play .mkv files from the stock media player in Omnia i8000. Is there a way to make it compatible? I am currently converting .mkv to .mp4 or .avi to play them on my i8000. BTW this player is really good. no lagging or screen tearing or anything.
http://cellphoneforums.net/samsung/
i'm also looking for proper mkv player.
TCPMP is very lagging
It would be great if we can play mkv files on TouchPlayer. It is one of the good player for video files, but really frustrating to use with large number of audio files.
