Can "World Clock" be disabled ? - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

Hello all.
I have a TD2 with The original HTC WM 6.5 ROM.
I love it, but one thing annoys me:
The world clock that pops up when pressing the watch.
It gets in the way everytime the phone ring, and i grab for it in my pocket.
I have googled it, and searched this forum, and all i have been able to find was a cooked ROM that has it disabled, but also had othér changes i don't want.
Is there a kind soul inhere hwo knows a simpler way to disable this "world Clock" feature? (and is willing to share the secret with me )
Thank you in advance Humpeligimp

What World Clock?
I'm assuming you mean when you tap on the clock on the home screen, unless you installed something - SPB Time, or something else with a screensaver - which gives you a world clock?
I hate to suggest the obvious, but if you don't put the lock on when the phone is in your pocket there is potential for bigger problems than the Clock settings to be displayed - a feature, rather than a bug.
My suggestion would be to engage lock before pocketing phone - last time I forgot I made a long silent call, so I soon learned!

Yes that world clock.
I am sorry if it could be misunderstood.
The ringing phone in the pocket was just an example. (Of course i lock my screen)
What i realy ment was can it be disabled ?
To stop it from stealing focus when i accidentially taps the time.
I find it annoying, and i have no need know the time in some other country,
just from the front of my phone.

I like to link my clock so that when i press it, it launches second today. I do this using ssmaho 0.0.4.0. I suppose you could link it to take you to the home screen (ie. do nothing)!

Thank you. I'll check ssmaho and see.

Display of clock when at standby?

Hello! I am considering to buy a new Prophet. Since I do not wear a watch (I have been using my mobiles for this purpose) I would like to ask whether Prophet allows the display of time when it is in standby mode (P900 had a similar mode - clock was like a screensaver).
Thank you in advance..
Natively, it doesn't support it. You can however use a 3rd party application called SPB Time which will give you this option.
Thank you for info.
Ive been looking for this kind of thing.
Thank you for your answer! I am waiting for my Prophet so I have not tested it.
I hope that this program will not force the PDA to run in full mode (remain at standby mode while dispalying the clock)..
Regards!
when your device is in suspend mode, the screen is blank, you don't see anything, not even a screen saver.
There is one lock utility (I'm not sure if it will work on wm5) but if you press anybutton, it will show you the time, batt, signal, etc.
SPB clock has a nice screen saver but unfortunately, when screen is blank so is the SPB clock.
Try MortSaver which is a nice keylock and displays a clock when you bring the device out of sleep mode using any key. It will then switch the unit off again after x secs.
Oh, and its free (But I would recommend supporting poor old Mort with a donation as he produces a lot of very good software for the PPC!!!)
yep, this is the one I was refering to, but I think the x seconds are not customizeable. Correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks a lot! I will try these.. It is true that I was quite accustomed with my old P910 which always displayed a screensaver (even on "standby") mode.. It looks like I will have to live with it.. Btw, do you know where I could find a case that would be transparent on the side of the screen? (The current packaged screen is opaque and requires that I move out the prophet in order to see the time :-(.
Cheers!!

Hey Developers:Can you develop Small app For PPC6700 owners?

Small app to utilize the built in lock function in new PPC6700 ROM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it possible to create a small app that simulates pressing the "device lock" plugin on the today screen every time the phone goes into standby? This would make the new lock feature be 100% useful and also make it fool proof. So every time your phone goes into standby mode (phone screen off, or pressing the off button on top of the phone) this would trigger the today plug in to activate!
What do you all think?
I've had an idea to write a screenlock myself, but it would work on the same basis.
I want to test something though: I wonder what the time lag is between pressing power on and an app installed in the notification queue being enabled.
My VJLumosII works like this, and takes maybe a second to enable itself. I think that's not a bad time lag. So you could write an app to launch itself on power on, to automatically enable the lock...
If anyone else is interested, please do dive in... fittske - maybe you can change the title of the thread to make it apply to everyone!?
Otherwise, when I get a little more time I'll look into it.
V
Thanks for the quick response! Sure If any one else has any ideas please do jump in!
I'm in!
I usually depend on MortSaver for this, but I would love an app that locked/unlocked with a hard-button (as opposed to clicking on Today which is silly). Exempting a blue-tooth voice dial button would also be great. I can build for this platform in .NET, but I sense that the response time wouldn't be as good as a C++ implementation.

RE: App to use Today Lock - Thanks!
Ooooo, I literally have been dreaming of this all day. Again, no disrepect to MortSaver, but a tighter intregration and better lookin' ui never hurts.
Thanks!
James
Jakenuts: you've been dreaming of this all day?
May I point you towards this thread:

Have you tried the app? Did it work?

hey,
I was wondering through the forum, searching for the manual screen lock app.
going through people's responses its worth trying - where can I find & try the app?
will it work on original WM6?

Slide to Unlock today plugin?

Has anyone thought of/already produced a small Slide to Unlock bar that could be used as a today plugin for your home screen? That would be the bomb! Anyone agree or heard of something already? I know of S2U2 but that is more of a screen saver... could be a "slide to lock" and then "slide to unlock" type deal. Anyone feel me on this?
Some people have discussed a "transparent" S2U type of app. The PointUI guys said they may try to add that to their app at some point. THat's the closest thing that's been considered...
yeah :/ hopefully someone comes out w/ it soon, would rather it be independent from pointui...
That's a neat idea.
I"m having a hard time making s2u2 actually be useful for me, because i really want to use it. but i dont want to use the native lock function either, and the batterystatus locking functionality is boring! i want to sliiiiiiiiiiiide
yeah! i hope someone on this board with any type of programming experience picks this idea up, i'd be more than willing to work with them on the gui for it, if it is at all even possible.
bump... i refuse to let this idea die!!!!

yes i read through that but it isn't quite what i was inquiring about... hopefully that developer can cook something up
great idea would love to use
If there be a nice Graphic today >> Slide to Lock (instead of Lock) and call S2U2 would be very nice
if you're using ftouchflo, setup the left->right action to run S2U2. I find that to be a better solution so I can easily lock my phone no matter what screen I'm on and save my precious today screen space...
Nah, Personally, i'd prefer just an lock/unlock slider sitting on Today screen, so that i can see my Batterystatus and TodayAgenda all the time. The fact that S2U2 covers the Today screen (and my events/tasks with it) is the only thing that keeps me from using it.
What i would expect from such a plugin is the simplicity, ability to skin it, and customize its size.
someone please produce this, maybe we can get a paypal going for the author? i'd pay a few bucks for it forsure.
this is what your looking for...
for some reason this wouldn't come up in the xda search, had to do it directly in google... but this is what your after

S2U2, turn off once call rec'd, landscape problems?

I really like some of the things about S2U2, and I apologize if this has been posted before...
I want to have something that will lock my screen but allow me to go back to where I was before I left off. The "system" lock that was put into the Telus ROM sucked, it completely removed whatever you were doing and cancelled back to the home screen.
I put on S2U2 and it was great, very pretty, etc. but when I was done with a call, I'd see the prompt come up with "Do you want to save this number?" but it locks immediately afterwards.
I also really like the TF3D interface that comes up when a call comes in, with their "slide to answer" function, and would also like to keep that.
So, basically, I only want the S2U2 to come on when I've put the device to sleep, not when resuming from receiving a call.... I'm asking too much, aren't I?
Is there any way to stop that?
Also, when putting it into Landscape mode, it buggers up the entire screen and I can't see anything. I don't have a screen shot, but it's a major annoyance.
The last problem you mentioned is already known. S2U2 has some problem in landscape if you used the album before.
Try to deactivate the caller ID in the S2U2 settings. I don't have any problem with S2U2 and incoming calls so far.
Sorry. not too sure by what you mean by album before. Can you explain what I have to change to get lanndscape to work?

Disable the flip clock first animation

Hey guys,
I was wondering if its possible to disable the first animation from the flip clock? i dont like it and it always confuzes me how late (early) it is.
So if anyone knows how to disable it.. it was really easy on my hd2, just install a .cab file.
Thanks
+1 for me on this one.
It really is annoying and especially on analog clocks the animation looks rather weird.
Regards,
And another request from me...
This was pretty much the first thing I did on my HD2 (disable flip) and it's driving me nuts already!
bump bump , same here
Bump!
Agreed about the analog comment...it's bloody weird!
No one knows how? i will call htc tomorrow and ask them.

You can try but they probably don't have a solution.., It's just build in.
Not that this disables it by normal operation, but I find using "No Lock" from the Market skips the animation when you press the power button, but it also removes the need to "slide down" to unlock after pressing the power button (this is good in my book, and the real reason I use it).
This also annoyed me to no end when I first got the phone especially on the analogue clocks. It looks really stupid to see the hands rotate round the clock to the correct time every time you flick back to it! I searched for hours trying to find a solution but I gave up. Which is a real shame because I really like the HTC clocks but can't use them

Yeah that was their answer too. So there's not going to be a way to do this official.
Another one from me, very annoying!!
