short missed calls converted to unknown entries in call log - Omnia II General

I have observed one thing..whenever there is a short missed call and my phone is in locked state..it wakes up in 3-4 sec..if this call happens to be a missed call (only 1-2 rings heard on the caller's end), my phone doesnt recognize that number (even if it is present in my contacts) neither it shows which number i missed...so frustrating..any body else experienced this?
any workaround? i tried many registry tweaks posted on internet, nothing helped..hard reset my phone..but problem still there..

Same problem here, I suppose it's a bug on Phone part of the ROM, maybe it will be fixed in future versions. I try all the CPU performances and the problem persist.

It takes a little bit of time before the caller ID number comes through and get matched to your contact list. Depending on how many contacts you have on your list, it may also take a bit longer to find a match in a long list. So if your caller calls and ends call shortly, then the match may not be completed. It's not a bug.

But when my screen is on..i dont see this issue at all, i have checked many times giving as short call as i could..
i issue comes when the device is locked..so i think while waking the device up it takes long and there somehow it doesnt activate the callerid service, so the unknonw caller issue occurs..

When your screen is locked, your phone is in sleep mode. So it takes longer time to wake up first, then receive the call.

BUG:NO RINGTONE COMING,HELP PLEASE...

There is a bug on my Qtec 2020(FW:166)-
when someone calls me no signal goes to my QTEC(But the beep signal goes from calling phone)-sometimes signal goes only at the end of the call, and i see a call as missed.
what is it :?:
It is difficult to say exactly what could be causing this kind of problem.
Might I suggest some troubleshooting tips?
1. Backup your device
2. Hard-Reset
3. Try some incoming calls to see if they work correctly.
4a. If 3 did not fix, try flashing your ROM with the newest version.
5a. If that solves your problem, re-install all of your programs and you are finished.
6a. If it does not solve your problem, you may have a hardware problem, contact the vendor.
4b. If 3 did fix your problem, re-install your programs one-at-a-time, giving time for testing between loading programs. Only after you have proven that call reception still works do you install the next program. In this way you determine if a program you have loaded is causing your problem.
HTH!
if I understood you correctly, you have a problem where the Incoming Call bubble doesn't show, not ringing sound when someone calls you. And sometimes, it takes like 5 seconds delay before it shows or rings?
i experienced this after installing some phone related software. i suspected that the system somehow is overloaded, and the memory is somehow insufficient to handle incoming call and notify you in time.
Do you have RingtoneX, PocketZenPhone, IA Caller ID, Caller2Picture, Cell Profiler ... etc installed? What are the phone related apps you have installed? Or perhaps, could you list what are in your \Windows\Startup, let us troubleshoot the culprit.

CFlashMan
CheckAutorun
ChgDflnk
IA_Caller_ID(MAYBE THIS IS BUG :?: -but i have not it ins.on my QTEC)
MMReg
NFlashMan
poutlook
stk
TFlashMan
GUYS,Please,help...
So,what causes the bug :?:
I am running PocketZenPhone also, and do not experience this problem.
Unfortunately, I still believe that a HR is the only way you can prove that the problem is caused by software you have installed and not the hardware. It sounds drastic, but you must start from a clean PPC and prove that it works, then figure out which software is causing the problem.
ok,i'll soon try it.
BUT i wanna hear from chriswo what to do,cos he got the same bug.
I've got a similar sort of bug, not sure what causes it though and its a pain,
I cant get the volume slider for the phone to stay above zero, i raise it and it beeps as i do it, and i close the volume control, open it againg and it back at the bottom, If i recieve an incomming call, all that happens is the screen flashes with the incomming call alert but no ringing tone at all?
how are the phone settings set ?
as in ring type ?
and how are the sounds and notifications settings
just checked them and they all appeared to be ok, but i wend back in and changed my ring tone and then tried to change it back and it said
'this ring tone is not working properly, You may want to choose a different one to use.'
Very strange, so i am now using oldphone as my ring tone and it is working perfectly!, looks like one of my ring tones has got corrupted somehow
I had the same problem also
Fix by HARD RESET.
At that time I try to test many Phone edition program. (on XDA 1 2002).
After that everytime when I try to install some new program, I'll backup my data first.
so,i still waiting for chriswo, cos he knows this sort of bug...

call hangs up as soon as i push talk

This has happened on a few of my devices but its happening on athena as well.
i actually dont know why this is happening and i have tried a search but just too many non specific results
basicly i dial a number and hit talk then it just stops and hangs up ... no ring tone nothing.
This is most likely your mobile carriers problem and not related to the Athena.
I have frequent calls that do not complete, and this is due to (according to my contacts at the mobile company) one of two things.
1. The cell tower you are connected to is full.
2. The interconnection between carriers is limited and the connections are full.
The quickest way, I suppose, it just to refuse the call and make you dial again.
Very seldom do I hear a fast busy tone or any other error tone when the call fails.
hmm thats the same occurence here no tones
i just hear the beep beep beep when the pocket pc hangs up

Call History / Call Register not reflecting latest calls

Interesting problem this.
I'd reached 1999 calls held in the call timers (1999 calls, 5122 min, 32 sec) and my call register showed calls from the last two or three months.
I noticed after a while that new incoming/outgoing calls weren't being registered in the Call Register, so I tried deleting call history items older than 1 month, and resetting my Recent Calls timer.
Nothing's made a difference, however, and my Call Register has not been saving any records of calls made or received for four days now.
Anybody have an idea why this isn't working? Is there a hard limit on the All Calls timer, which is still showing 1,999 calls @ 5122 mins and 32 seconds Neither figure updates when I make or receive a new call, the only figure which updates is the Recent Calls timer - the actual calls list doesn't update, it's still showing the last call as one I made four days ago.
Any help or advice appreciated, I did some searches but nothing turned up that seemed related to my issue.

can't register call history
i have the same problem. i have a Dopod pro 818 with WM5 for few years. Suddenly the Call History cannot register any more new call. Deleted some old record and even soft reset few times still doesn't work. Can any1 help?
re:can't register call history
Problem solve!! I had changed my phone previous day,.. so i didn't notice the date and time is out.. So it did register new call but it was on the bottom of the list.. my mistake.. human error not the phone.. sorry

Searched WIKI and posts, think it's posessed

My phone with no change and with every rom is now doing the following.
1. Instead of alarm going off, it calls back the person that last called me at the time the alarm was sapposed to have gone off... sometimes.
2. Calls last call dialed at random often. No specific time of day or number, it just picks a recently dialed or call recieved number, and calls it.
3. Not sure if it's my cheek, but it looooves to put calls on hold as soon as i anwer or in the begening of the call.
4. Any slight touch or fast movement or large breeze over the bottom buttons (mostly noticed on the 4 way) it will call a person.
5. It can never find a 3g network and wants to know if I would like to make a voice cal instead. That's on any call that's not on my sbp favorites.
I know the answer to many other questions, but these are the ones that concern me most that just started out of the blue and i can't find anything other than the mention of one person here saying his phone calls his wife in the middle of the night. I feel the pain.
Any ideas? thinking of going iphone 2.0. Got most the stuff i use and it's stable. But i LOVE the qwerty and would really rather keep this hermes.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks everyone,
Joe
oh yeah, and the alarm clock, birthdays, and appts change days and times then go back to the correct times and days. Does this about once a day.
Thanks,
Joe
Ref issues 1-4
My guess is a switch on the D/pad is not releasing correctly/fully and is causing an intermittent contact at the slightest movement or sound. I think you guessed that already.
So anyway - to rule out a software fault you could backup and do a hard reset and test before restoring the backup.
If that fails - assume a hardware fault.
Possible things to check - would require dismantling.
remove the d/pad. Cgeck the buttons for visible movement/any sign of poor contact and release.
If all appears fine then re-assembly will automatically have caused the d/pad connector to be re-seated (another possible cause of the issue - loose connection).
If the problem remains, my best guess for a fix would be d/pad board replacement.

Call Connection Problems

Hey, I've been lurking these forums for a while but I thought I'd come on to ask a question. I tried asking on sprintmogul.net but they didn't really help.
I've had my mogul for a few months but lately it's been developing a really annoying problem. I'm really not sure where it started exactly so I can't blame any apps in particular. When I receive a call the caller ID / ring and vibrate go off perfectly - the problem happens when I try to answer the call. Generally one of three things happens:
1 - The call connects instantly and just works - this happens pretty rarely, I remember the last time it happened the person calling was also on Sprint, if that makes any difference.
2 - The phone will just sort of hang there for about 10 seconds, caller ID popup still there, the ring stops though. Eventually the popup disappears and I get a missed call notification, as if I never clicked the answer button. This is what usually happens.
3 - The phone hangs like in situation 2, but the call eventually connects. This only happens if I press answer almost immediately after the phone starts to ring.
I'm on winMo 6.1 with the latest radio and am not running any major mods or hacks, just a few reg edits. I'll probably try a hard reset soon but ideas on things to try would be appreciated!
I am seeing this also, on both my own xv6800 and my wife's. It's VERY annoying.
