neoTouch camera function in software - neoTouch S200 General

hi i just noticed when i downloaded i-nigma (a barcode scanner) into my neotouch s200 today
and i found that when the software uses the camera function, the camera screen is rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise for some reason.
i tried using other software such as neoreader and the same thing happens.
when i access the normal camera function the screen is the way its supposed to be though.
is this a bug? im using the 3.003b EN firmware by the way.

skip inigma
uses mobiletag the new version and use the htc HD2 settings. When you tap screen to open camera, make sure you are relatively close to whatever barcode and then half push the camera button to focus. I say mobiletag and not inigma b/c inigma doesn't focus for crap. E.g. on chrome i have an extension that creates a barcode for any webpage i'm on. I can't use inigma b/c I can't focus on it. Plus mobiletag does the whole online price check like the iphone and android apps do. Skip inigma... its junk.

Spy Cam

Hello,
is there a program or a setting for allowing filming but when on/off button pressed the filming not to stop?In this manner we can still film but noone to observe.
Thanks,
Another possibility for your spyCam would be to write a programm which films and shows a black screen.
the idea is good
i know...but there is nothing done at the moment?
A GOOD spy cam should have movement detection trough the cam, so it can:
Make a photo, a video, play an alarm when movement is detected;
Register only audio
Upload it to anywhere,
Send it via MMS
launch an app.
Nothing exist like this, the only "decent" app is JGUI InvisibleShooter, but still (and i think never) not complete.
Symbian OS are full of that apps.

Absurdity of a missing background video recorder for HD2

Been searching since I got my HD2, that is 2 months ago now: there is apparently no way to record video in background on this phone, and it is absurd.
I basically need it as a car black box system, to work together with mp3 player and navigation/gps tracking software.
I found a russian pay software that should do exactly that, together with gps overimposing of current speed, but "garbled" is the best adjective to describe it with when installed on the HD2.
I tried QIK and LiveCLIQ, but they do no support HD2 officially, nor the cab that I downloaded for the touchpro2 worked.
Is that possible that the only software able to effectively record video on the HD2 is the builtin HTC camera, which is less than optimal in settings, and is not able to record in background? (even went through all its keys in HKLM and HKCU, but nothing interesting there).
Could any of you suggest a working solution, even if I am widely losing any hope since google didn't turn up anything during all this time?
I am looking for a solution also, tried the russian software too and it was not usable at all. Found a thread about a backgrounding app but doubt it will be any good. So the search continuous. Hope something can be found.
you could still point me to that thread, you never know
I also think that's not feasible because as soon as the camera app loses the focus it seems to stop recording, and that's silly to say the least... but trying won't hurt anyway, at least for the time being, until another app is released.
Depressing that Android is so young and it's already got its freeware car blackbox software, which is even better (on the paper) than the russian pay software.
new version of LiveCLIQ works
hi!
they released a new version (r5075) which finally woks for my HD2.
Find the app here: at LiveCLIQ homepage and select "HTC Touch HD T8282".
Best
good news, will go check right now
Highly disappointed about livecliq:
forces landscape mode... htc camera shows as landscape, but the system is still in portrait, while livecliq actually rotates the display
resources hog, and slow as hell: while the HTC camera displays the images almost realtime as you move the viewport, livecliq lags considerably, and looks more like a fast slideshoq than a real video; while recording, you can put it in background with hide, but the rest of the system is pretty much unuseable from how much slow it is
generally useless for "our" purposes; sure, being able to upload or strem the videos directly online may be a good thing for those who are intrerested, but the developers decided to lock the program to just that function, as the video is recorded as a chain of 1MB max segments in "raw" format, and is not watchable offline
you cannot choose the save location, offline videos are saved under the install folder, which means hell for those who always install to internal memory, and keep the storage card for what it's meant, that it, storage
so well, livecliq is a no go, HTC camera is still the best if only it worked in background.

Hd2 wp7 Camera Autofocus? (not camcorder)

Hey i just wanted to know if there is a way to focus the camera in wp7 becouse it's all blurry?
Yes im having the same problem
camcorder is working fine
Unless we get a sort of focus implementation like in android then it's just like that. The camera was designed to have a button which could be half pressable to focus, and then when pressed in fully, takes the picture. Obviously we don't have a button like that so, a touch sort of focus needs to be implemented for us, until then, pictures will be blurry for now.
Wonder if a person could create a double tap to take a picture app..

'double tap' amazing idea!
Solution to problem
Quick'n'dirty Workaround to Autofocus:
1. Before taking the picture, switch to video mode
2. Wait for the camera to refocus ~1 second - you will see the image sharpness change
3. Switch back to camera mode and take your picture
This works because the camera will simply retain the focus distance that the video camera set.
So, until Microsoft implements touch-focus (which they really should) we could just use this.

quick you have to be like lightning to take a picture as it starts un-focusing straight away.
By the time you press the button you have moved the phone so its blurred & camera is already out of focus.
Must be an easier way.
Please please please someone design a fix for the camera.
I loved the panoramic shot aswell on hd2 but everything is gone.
Video is great but camera is poor.
Thank you
Before taking a picture toggle between photo and video mode. That fixes the autofocus issue. Not an ideal solution but an alternative nonetheless
maybe its can help for developers :
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/151485/Hacking-the-WP7-Camera-The-basics.aspx
Maybe a possible solution could be map the focus function (the half click) in another button?
I think the solution is because we don't have a two position button is to do touch the screen to focus and then take the shot. But that probably requires a lot of coding.
Until this is sorted, I think its a major flaw with HD2 and WP7
Use the camera a lot, unless its bright sunlight the camera just will not focus.
Luckily I can dual boot, lets hope for a fix of some application that uses touch screen to focus
It's possible the focus could be mapped to one of the volume buttons within the Camera app.
This would likely depend on the half-press on native WP7 systems having its own key mapping, separate from the full-press, and the Camera app listening for each keymapping separately. We'd just need to hack the keymapping for the half-press to the volume button. This is, of course, if WP7 still deals with keymapping the way earlier versions did.
Also, if the Camera app treats the camera button as some kind of special case, and rather than 2 mappings for half- and full-press, it has a single mapping, it'll likely need a major rewrite to support focus on the HD2.
Fingers crossed it's just a case of searching the code for keypress 0xC1 and replacing it with 0x76 (for example).
i think... and i think ... but nobody search...

640x480 is not good enough.
It will be unlikely we'll be able to map this app to replace the internal Camera app completely.
Will 3rd party apps, like barcode readers, be able to use this app?
Hexediting the native Camera app and changing the key mapping, and cooking it into a new ROM would be much better.
That app shows promise, though.
Dont know if this helps, but here is another solution that claims to fix HTC HD2 cam running WP7. no camcorder though.. http://aliwaqas.info/shcamera-fixes-camera-issues-on-htc-hd2-running-windows-phone-7-xap/
Just post the direct link to XDA lol

Autofocus works PERFECT!
For recording videos, just use the original camera app.

Lukas
Well one solution if we are to implement focusing through buttons instead of touch, is that we have the call button when held down, focus, and then the camera will take the picture after we've released the call button.

That's the behavior I thought would be appropriate too.
A touch screen focus would be even better, cause it would allow, like on WinMo 6.5, to focus wherever we want on the picture. But it would require a more coding than just adding a press-to-focus/release-to-shoot behavior.
The SHCameraApp is nice, but its resolution is limited, and it would be nicer to have a single, integrated app to do the photos and videos. Nonetheless, it's a nice workaround for the time being.

[Q] Few question about 720p, markeplace ?!

1. How to make that everytime when i enter in the CamRecorder, to have 720p already ON? (everytime i must switch it from VGA to 720p, when exiting the app)
2. How to fix the autofocus from the Camera (not Camrecorder). Its really annoying to change to camrecorder, to let it focus, and then switch to camera and make a photo.
And one more question
3. I have installed all the unlocks, fixes, regions, etc. Created and activated my Live ID, called Microsoft they gave me an activaton code. I entered both of them, and marketplace gives me an error like : Cant get this info right now. Check back in a little while.
More questions laters, maybe)
Even a proper HD7 you have to set 720p everytime, maybe one day someone will find a regkey to change this?
Ive never had an issue with focusing camera or camcorder, its amazing the camcorder focuses whilst recording unlike anything else Ive seen
There are threads to help get the Market working, basically after setting the CustClear.provxml the phone should say HD7 in Zune.
i'm having the same focusing issue with the camera too. hopefully someone will find a solution for it..
What reg fix i need to put in custclear.provxml that zune will say it's HD7..
I have HTC HD2 , and he cant autofocus on CAMERA, just only in camrecorder.
To make the marketplace work, i need this ?
Add this registry entries to show HTC Apps in the Marketplace (this will Not Fix live error!)
Your Phone will be identified as an HD7!
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\operatorpkg]
"Version"="7.3.728.10201"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo]
"OemName"="HTC"
"MODeviceName"="HD7 T9292"
"OEMDeviceName"="Schubert"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ident]
"FriendlyName"="HTC HD7"

?
yes, but you have to do that before you activate it.
here is a step by step guide => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911579
Camera has no auto focus, end of story. The camera in WP7, not just ours, is built in a way where WP7 phones have a button which when half pressed it focuses, and when pressed fully, it takes the picture. That is why microsoft requires every WP7 phone to have a shutter key.
What he means by camcorder and camera is that use the camcorder to focus on the picture, and then quickly switch to camera and take the picture while the camera is still focused on the scene.
Ahh yer you're right. The camera does not focus at anytime & uses what the camcorder was last focused at.
So to focus the camera, just press the camcorder button and let it focus then switch back to camera, this may not work in a night-club, lol.
Or pre-focus with the camcorder until the camera is used, best on infinity?
Whats needed is another button to act as the HD7 shutter button does when pressed half way to focus, or force the camera to maintain autofocus all the time like the camcorder.

[Q] Front camera and Barcode Scanner, etc.

About the only thing I could see myself missing a rear camera for would be scanning things like QR codes, bar codes, etc. Is it safe to assume that Barcode Scanner, Google Shopper, et al, would be able to scan using the front camera? I realize it might be a bit tricky at first because you wouldn't be able to see the screen well, if at all. With practice, though, I think you'd be able to figure it out.
"My impression" is that a front camera is addressed differently than a back camera.
Barcode scanners and camera apps might not work with the Nexus 7 without software modification.
For now, it remains to be seen how useful the front camera will be for other than video chatting.

Hi, I'm an author of Barcode Scanner. It doesn't use the front camera since only rear cameras are treated as 'real' cameras by Android, and the API for using second cameras appeared later than the API leve the app supports (2.3), which makes it tricker.
We made a 'premium' version that does, among other things, support front-camera-only devices like the Nexus 7.
Search for "barcode scanner plus" on Google Play -- sorry I can't posts links yet
