Skype to internal speaker - Omnia II General

Hi to all enthusiast! my first post here
I've been searching through XDA forum and haven't found solution yet how to make Skype useful - to route the sound from external to internal speaker.
I tryed audioroute, audioswitch and none of it worked on Omnia I8000. Does maybe someone knows the solution how to make it work?

Not top but maybe you could live with the solution discussed here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizon-sch-i920-omnia-ii-http-i8000-modaco-com/294694/audio-routing-to-earpiece/

This link redirects me to main page...

try this: tinyurl.com/yjr5ypf
But this is post interesting:
ok, I'm answering my own questions.... I found the solution, and no need for any software!
Just dial *#0002*28346#, you'll enter the engineering mode. Choose in menu to SetForce audio path to "Voice Receiver", thereafter all speaker sounds goes to the earpiece. When you're done, go back to the menu and release the force audio mode and all sounds go back to speakers.
Working wonderfully for Skype! No longer a need for me to put on the headphone whenever I Skype with the i8000! I can just talk like in a normal phone call!

TyTN - recording phone conversations

Do you know any software for Windows Mobile 5 to recording conversations automatically ? I have 1gb card , can record over 20 hours of quite good quality conversations.
Do you know any soft which will do it automatically after I answer or call to somebody ?

try vito audionotes
I have just looked on the Vito Technology site but on the PPC version it mentions nothing about telephone conversation recording so I am assuming it doesn't offer this feature on the PPC, just on Smartphones .. is this correct?

I've tried "Vito Audionotes" and "Resco Audio Recorder" and both got the same problem on TyTN; both only records your side so are useless...
Yes, it is a problem Viva, the way I have got round this is by using the Tytn headphones to make a call but I just wear one earpiece in my ear and I hold the other earpiece next to the inline microphone (you could even tape it there).
I have only ever used the inbuilt note recorder before so when I saw this thread I was hoping that there was 3rd party software out there that would record the other side of the conversation automatically so I wouldn't have to do it this way.
Anyway, thought I would mention my method in case it helps anyone
How about this
http://1800message.com/products.aspx

1) Download either or both of applications below - NOTE: PM Recorder will only work with some Smartphones, not Pocket PC Phone Edition devices.
what is the differebce between PPC Phone and Smartphone ?
I thought my TyTN is a Smartphone but now I think it's a PPCPhone ..
So, there is nothing which can record conversations. It's a pity , phone with so big storage should have this option built-in... what you think ?
The option with some server which will keep my records it's not good for me, I wouldn't let anybody to send my conversations anywhere..
Ok, I will be still looking for some solution and let you know if find any..
Cheers guys.
Yes, TyTn is a PocketPC phone. The most obvious difference is that Smartphones do not have a touchscreen and have a numeric pad.
My C500 (Typhoon) Smartphone wouldn't record telephone conversations either, so I don't think that it's PPC specific. The incoming call simply isn't passed through the OS for it to be recorded.
I read somewhere (sorry, can't remember where) that it was a conscious decision by Microsoft as some operators didn't want that functionality and they were trying to get as many operators onboard as possible. But Nokias can record conversations - even without a beep notification to the caller - so this info may not be correct.
Guys, please DO use the forum serach engine. I've long answrred these question in ALL call recording-related threads started before June 2006.

LivePVR
Moi herra Ruotsalainen. Your article doesn't mention LivePVR from Softtrends. I tried it and it works, but not for the purpose I wanted it. I am looking for a proper answering machine for WM5, like SmartAnswer I had on my old Nokia 6600.
Hmm...
LivePVR does not work in recording phine calls. They finally admitted this on the handango product page, too. You will need to use it in "speaker" mode like all others... Its just technically not possible.
Well, I have just read the article about recording via the speakerphone but I still prefer my method which I mentioned earlier in this thread.
My method records both sides of the conversation, I think the recording I get is better quality than when you record via speakerphone and the conversation remains private ... I am quite happy with my workaround
When I have wizard, i use SPWM5CallRec.cab (somewhere on the forum) and ....hmm it's record all? (don't remember for 100%).

It will not record the other party's voice, as has already been pointed out in my article (see link above).
However, i's still teh best call recorder app available for the PPC, particularly if you use the WAV postconverter I've discussed in the article.

They did false advertising? Everyone who paid for that pretty crapy app could sue them for that. After all, the day after they've released LivePVR I've pointed out in my review it's NOT able to record the other party. That is, they were surely able of the app's inability of this.

Yup, it directly doesn't mention it; however, the Audio Recorder Bible (linked in from the PMRecorder article; http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp ) does and it also links in the related LivePVR review ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1218&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 )
The extend of my test was one phone call. I realise now that I did the test with the speaker on.
Microphone picking up the sound from the speaker . . . bleeding edge, huh?
So finally...
I started this thread once again , I know, there is a lot about that on this forum. I just wanted to put this in to TyTN section, because I was dreaming that this model has no hardware restriction and maybe somebody wrote good app for recording phone calls.
I see, it's still impossible to do that on such a gadgetty mobile phone...
It's a pity....
If anybody find the solution please continue this thread or even send me a message please.

I'm continuously pushing the issue in internal MS forums. Hopefully HTC / MS changes its approach and does implement what Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens etc have been offering for 7-8 years.

Skype Sound output switch

I have made a program for my girlfriend wizard so she can talk with skype using the earpiece instead of the loudspeaker...
It might be useful for others too, use it at your own risk, I do not take responsibilities for any damage made by this program...
It also may work with other phones, it is a matter of trying... of course again, at your own risk.
It is very simple, just run the program before a skype call and then bring it up and press "ok" to close.
If someone knows tha if skype broadcast some sort of message while making a call, please send the information to me so I can make a auto-switching program ;-)
Do not let the program running because you can really mess things around, but nothing serious... just annoying.
standalone exe file, do not sell it!!! it is free!!
Thanks.
Check the new program, at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469223
Thanks man, I don't need it at the moment, but it is great idea.
this is a fix that a lot of ppl have been waiting for but unfortunately it doesn't work on my tytn 2. is there any way that you can make a universal switch or one for the tytn 2?
can someone use this fix to auto-switch when wm6 voip call is comming in?
This is brilliant, brilliant!!!!
I suggest you repost this as VOIP: Audio redirection to earpierce and hopefully the mods can make this a sticky. This is a problem that has baffled many for long.
I've tested with both Express Talk and WM6 VOIP. However WM6 VOIP has got an issue on my phone where the volume is low with lots of noise. However in both cases, the app redirected the audio to the earpiece. Express talk is crystal clear through the earpiece and is what I'll be using for VOIP calls.
Would you care to elaborate on what issues we can expect if we leave the application running for long?
one small problem is after running this .exe, i am unable to key lock my device. so as i speak over the earpiece of skype i have the tendancy to press buttons (eg. hangup) with my face.

you wont hear your phone ring at all if you leave the device running. all the sounds and notifications that come through the loudspeaker will all now come through the earpiece!
would vibrate still work?
To answer my own question, I tested it and it does! (Well I tested it on my Tilt and it worked)
My own problem now is finding a ROM that works with Skype and Troca2. The one I have now will not use the mic on the phone (whether troca2 is running or not). Either way I am making progress towards my Skype only wizard!
SKYPE and FRING on Sony Xperia X1
Have you managed to make this software automatic??
It may be a good idea if the software would work for FRING and SKYPE only without redirecting ALL the sounds.
Is it possible??
Best

I am having a issue with audio not coming out as mono on MP3 files will this work for that?
hello,

Code ... maybe?
Hi MarceloFB,
This works great on my Xperia X1 (didn't try it with Skype, just my own VOIP app). ... Also have not tried it on my TytnII, don't even think I'm going to bother, since the TytnII hardware (as far as I know) won't support it.
I would, however, love to just put the API call into my own VOIP app instead of having the extra executable.
I have tried:
waveOutMessage( hWaveOut, /*MM_WOM_FORCESPEAKER*/WM_USER + 2, FALSE, 0 );
... as I thought that was the way to redirect the sound on devices where the hardware supports it, but that does not seem to work.
Would you maybe be willing to let me know what API calls you make in your app?
Regards
Hendrik
Hi ...
.... Nevermind ... got it working .... and on TytnII as well
Perfect
Works fine with Fring, Thanks, any idea why Skype 2.5 Beta crashes on Xperia when trying to make a call?
Works on Hermes
I've been testing express talk: http://www.nch.com.au/talk/index.html and your app reroutes the audio perfectly.

I don't know why nobody continued this thread. It is a big problem for all of WM users .
I have WM 6.1 and still the same problem . Damn Microsoft cannot fix this issue ?
Take a look at the first post, I have made a new program with automatic switch, and need people to test it and give some feedback, I intend to make corrections as bugs appears.

[APP][UPDATED]audioswitch

Hello,
I have been working on a new audioswitch app to replace troca2 and audioswitch.
I have started to make a new app called audioswitch v2 but soon ran out of time... and xiexin1008 got the project and had made and new experimental app.
Today, I had some free time, and made other app with a "switchclass" that deal with all the ril stuff(based on my first class that is on the Xiexin project), so others can improve and use it even as a dll in c#(u have to build it as a dll first)
I called it "simple audioswitch".
How it works: run the program and "put it on the background"
volume "up and down" switch the audio.
volume "down and up" close the app.
if an incomming call shows up, the audio will be routed back.
I have tested it only in my p3301. so I do not know if it works or not in other phones.
Once more the license:
It is free code, free binaries, and all work derived from it.
use at your own risk and I am not responsible for nothing...
Support on the forum.
-------------------------------------------------------
about the various methods of switch the audio...
mostly uses drivers messages.
u can find very useful information about it at www.teksoftco.com, even a audio driver wrapper that spy at audio messages.
by this time it is not for me, too busy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
will open sorce of this app so others can inprove it.
Thanks to Xiexin, I will not post his work now, will wait for his email.
Thanks Dan-Marius to all the feedback.
Thanks.
Hop u like. sorry for the messy code(is an one hour work).
@MarceloFB
The ideea of listeninng RIL for incomming calls is a very good one! Congratulation, you did a great job. Yes, a really great one.
The simpleAudioSwitch.cab file is attached.
Guys, it works very fine.
Thank you Marcelo!
I tried this program and I like using hardware keys pattern to change audio. I like the most that I don't have to change the way buttons worked before. this is the best solution I saw till now.
But there's is still a problem. It seems all programs of this sort use same procedure to route audio. But when audio is routed in my phone it seems it doesn't come from internal speaker. Or maybe not exclusively from internal speaker.
Sound still can be heard from external speaker but quieter.
So I can say now that we have good user interface but routing mechanism needs to be improved.
I have HTC Touch Cruise with 3LIT3 FULL ROM

The "routing mechanism" is using RIL lib, by now thre is no other "easy avaliable" way to rout the audio.
Try changing the radio or the entire rom of your phone, I have tested in touch cruise this method and works fine, but with the stock rom.
can you please tell me which ROM, radio and protocol version have you tried it with, so I can try the same and compare with this one I have?

Great app.
Just started using it on my HTC Touch HD with Dutty ROM v3.3. It seems as though Up & Up switches the audio for me (not up and down). Down and Up exits the app.
what is the basic use of this prog...
Also, earphone is silent when the phone is on vibrate (and probably when it's on silent too although I haven't tested it).

can be the volume or the ril mutting the audio. If the problem is the first is easy to solve, if it is the the second it wont be... just programming...
Request
Hi,
I still use the old version with mortscript to control the program and I love it .
I have a request for this new version.
1 - Can we decide which key controls the audio switching ? ( Since I have a Fuze and I have a PTT button which I never use )
2 - also is it possible to add the bluetooth handfree to audio switch options as well ? sometime when I'm driving I love to use my voip or skype over 3G using my bluetooth handfree .
Sincerely
Thunder
Will there be a new version, which is working with Skype 3.0 mobile beta?
I am having problems trying to get this to work with my Benq e72 phone running Windows Mobile 5.
I am trying to use it at the same time as Ageet Agephone mobile 2.76.
http://www.ageet.com/us/products-agephone-mobile.htm
It seems like Agephone mobile 2.76 takes over controls of the volume up and down button. When I push the up and down volume control button it just wants to change the volume and not switch the speaker/earpiece - I can't get Audioswitch to work. [Maybe I am not doing something simple properly?] But at least it installs correctly.
So then I try AudioRoute http://www.teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1995
Unfortunately this won't install properly - it says something like:

I have tried modifying the cab file like it says here on the teksoftco forum:
I'm also a creator of WinMo apps (www.saman-cz.com), so I know that recreating cab is just a piece of cake.
But OK. To modify cabinet get WinCE Cab Manager (trial is good enough), open cab, go menu Cabinet->Properties, Operating System tab, set minimum version to 5.0 and maximum to 9.9, hit Ok, then File->Save
Just another result from my tests:
After restarting phone I tried rerouting once more and the microphone worked well. Weird but nice

Im not exactly sure how it ended up on my original build, i think i went to skype.com/m and just downloaded it, but when i do that now (with the new rom) it says "there's no version for your phone"
Is their a way i can get it installed again now that ive flashed a cooked rom? (as i don't see it already in the rom itself.)

If Skype had no intention of fixing that horrible issue, then I really have no interest in its service on my mobile, anyway. It is disappointing, however, I used to use it on my Blackjack II and it worked great.

But not by itself. You have to use Audioroute (http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware), this program will route any sound either to the earspeaker or backspeaker. Just start it before Skype and you'll be able to use it like doing a regular phonecall.

Thanks, it seems useful, but not really enough. Personally I like to leave Skype active as a second line on the phone... which means I'd have to manually start it before every call (even incoming). If I were to just start it up on occasion to make a call, it'd be an easy Mortscript, but I'll have to see if there is something a little more sophisticated that I can write.
i just used skype today on my TP2 with the sound piped to my bluetooth earpiece. no issue at all and no 3rd party software required

Thanks. Now the only problem is my ear will touch some certain onscreen buttons and get in the way and when I turn the screen off, skype phone conversation stops working. I know a simple earpiece or bluetooth device solves everything but I don't like using neither.
Is there any other way I can turn off the screen and still have a phone conversation on skype?

No way I have ever found. Without headphones Skype on WM uses speakerphone capabilities only. I waited for Skype to fix this and the way the finally fixed is to drop support for WM all together.
Use this. Just route all audio to main ear piece before you start skype

No way I have ever found. Without headphones Skype on WM uses speakerphone capabilities only. I waited for Skype to fix this and the way the finally fixed is to drop support for WM all together.

thanx, i wiil try that
I was able to use Skype via the earpiece on my Xperia X1 a few years ago. I think it was just an exception for the X1 since Skype had an exclusive X1 Panel for that particular WM fone. On my HTC TP2 right now, Skype uses the speakerphone. Bummer...
where can i get skpye for windows mobile
Try here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5BU0717Y , and use with audioroute.
It seems i cannot logon skype mobile, with my TP2 (WM6.5). Its just "loading" after i punched in my credentials.
Is it me, or anyone else have this problem?

Skype Cab
I have an old beta cab which seems to work really well.. I use it all the time and have no problems... Guess it never got released. See if it works for you.
Skype
I love skype on my winmo, and have used it often. Audio Route IS the answer that i have found, and it does work great.
One issue with Audio Route, is the icon in the taskbar is affected by WIndows Mobile 6.5.5, and the icon shrinks to an almost unuseable state.
Are there any other options besides audio route for routing audio to the earpiece?
Thanks,
Brandon
Wow is this topic really that dead? I would think using skype on oUr windows mobile is still one of the better claims to fame.
So does anyone know of an audio route device that pays well with 6.5.x?
Sent from my MSM using XDA App
skype?
Hi, i use idialer for googlevoice calls:
http://www.supware.net/winmo/idialer/
works pretty well (need to update your webview.dll file if you have a newer (6.5) rom. But it works for google voice. not sure if it would work with gtalk/skype

Where can I get Skype software for my TP2?
A yahoo search for SkypeMobile.exe, gave me a CNet link for the download file.
