things i want from the hd mini - HD Mini General

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATUY6lO_bRE
i want that lock screen. and i want that theme. and i never liked the 6.5.x/6.6 builds but that looks great and i want it too.
htcs really gone off the deep end. wvga sense for android, half-vga windows mobile device, and a phone that doesnt run droid or winmo.

Your right it does look rather cool, hopefully someone will port this to the Leo.

Porthing the "Sense"
do you think that the HTC Sense on the HD Mini will be able to port over to more low end devices? I have my Touch Pro 2 now and I still miss my old LG Incite so as a last wish of respect for it is it possible to transfer HVGA to WQVGA?

Touch HD ROM ported to Xperia

i wonder if that would work, i mean both devices have graphic cards, same screen resolution and are made by the same folks. What do you think, do you think it can be done. Post your thoughts
I think the possiblities are pretty high.
I know if I were to get the phone that would be one of the things I would be interested in doing just because of the fact that the panels interface would have to grow up me so I would go with what I knew. Or if I wasn't to fond of the panels interface I would be trying to figure out how to use the touch HD interface.
The only thing that sucks bout the Touch HD ROM is that there won't be a US verison of the X1 and for a lot of US users it would probably be a lot of work put in to get the rom to work correctly on the X1

There wont be a US-spec Touch HD....
Either way the ability to change this to an X1 would be exactly the same as people have done porting TF3D and Manila2d. The Touch HD still uses TF3D likely with just higher resolution icons and such. Shouldn't be any different otherwise. Also, TF3d if I am correct is just a UI plugin for the Today screen on Windows Mobile. Which is basically the same thing as one of the X1 panels. I wouldn't be surprised if someone created a panel for the X1 that was very similar to TF3d, the possibility is there, just need someone to code it or attempt to port etc.
I agree and I think that it would be probably easier to build one based on the touch pro rom

Opinion: WM 6.5 Visual changes

I opened this thread because i really want to know what you other guys think about the new visual changes of WM 6.5. I personally think they are ugly and there is very little innovation in it. so basically most of things are increased in size ...When i saw for the frst time the mods i thought they were done by some registry change. if you compare it what HTC has done graphically is very very little i think. MS wants to make wm finger friendly by increasing the size of the graphic objects and dont care even if they look well or are aligned.
opinios are welcome
Agh who cares about the standard 6.5 home screen, everone has TouchFlo anyway...which is waaay better
i think 6.5 home is sexy, especially with the few themes made by some devs here on xda, i cant wait til seus give us 6.5(thats if)
i like the titanium home screen much more than TouchFlo
well the home wasnt my point actually i mean those new windows and those giant notifications ... sooo ugly ...

I agree with you, I thought that was a bug with my rom or it wasn't 'cooked' properly. I think MS have a long way to go to match the IPhone and various other touch phone interfaces.

Why? .
I think you guys are expecting WM7 features to be in WM6.5. That's just not the case. What I've seen (in the betas) isn't bad, but, definitely does not compete with next-gen smartphone OS'es (yet). I wouldn't judge WM6.5 until it is released.
I think the eye-candy element is only part of making a GUI and OS great. What else helps is refinement, speed and stability.

[Q] If the HD2 has been released...

How come there arn't complete Manila 2.5 with no bugs and landscape?
Just something Ive been curious about.
Correct me if I'm wrong :maybe because the HD2 hasn't got any landscape ?
HTC Touch Sense (AKA Manila 2.5) is developed for the HD2 which has no slide out keyboard. The home screen is best viewed "up right" and not in landscape. The only screens that HTC thinks is better viewed or shows more, are the music & photo screens. These 2 screens only use the G-sensor and not the slide out keyboard as the HD2 (Leo) has no keyboard. Until we see newer phones proceeding the HD2 that has keyboard support, we will have limited support for landscape on all Touch Sense screens.
P.S. this has been asked already on this forum
I forgot to ask: What bugs are you referring to?
Thats a good point about the landscape, didnt think about it. But I guess the overall smoothness of the whole thing. One I can think of, though i read this rom specific, is facebook integration not 100%. I played with a Moto Droid and android was really smooth and fast, I guess I was more asking why it cant be smooth like android is. Winmo would really be the superior if it had the smoothness of android. Sorry to mispost. I shouldn't post questions at 3am

the main reason for the sluggishness is because it was designed for a phone with almost twice the processor as we have on our tp2's. if we put manila 2.1 on an apache it would be the same story, its the hardware thats holding it back
Yea, I bought this only satisfy my gadget withdrawal until the HD2 is released here. Still a nice phone.

Android Sense UI on HD2

Hi guys,
Is there any possibility of running Android's sense UI on HD2?
Just the sense UI. Not the entire operating system (cause I know you'd become angry, if i ask that question again).
I've seen some demos having sliding home screens on HD2 and live wallpapers too.(touchexperience.com).
If sliding home screens are possible, then why not the entire htc sense UI with HTC gadgets. If it becomes true, then HD2 will ROCK!
Is that possible guys? I'm really hoping for a positive reply.
Looky here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637029
I'm not asking for the entire Operating system mate.
Just the sense UI. Cause I want different slates, rather than the same home screen.
I guess it is possible on WinMo (as touchwiz is also using the same)
ahh my bad, i havent seen any developed yet...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663809&page=5
Check mid-page,
spb mobile shell 3.5 with naong's mobile sense theme installed on top of it
I don't have it, but it seems it is possible.
edit: Just found this.
http://pocketnow.com/tweaks-hacks/sense-revolution-35-sense-ui-on-windows-mobile
Hmmmm....
Nice find koopiskeva, But I had asked for ANDROID SENSE UI, not some Sence la Révolution V3.5.
I know it's a bit demanding on my side to ask for the exact android sense ui. But it's(android sense ui) the one that ROCKS completely!!! (sorry, if I had underestimated your precious dugg out)..
Any chances of actual android sense UI guys??????
looky here: http://tinyurl.com/yc49pjl
dolby71, that's completely a different phone.
But that's not a problem. It's not GSM.
So any possibilities of running senseUI on HD2?

NO! You need ANDROID to run Android Sense UI. The closest you are going to get is SPB Mobile Shell with a Sense Theme. End of story.
Entirely different code, graphics, drivers - no chance
Ironically, the most logical reply to your question was to get Android itself running. Mate.
is there any chance to run live wallpaper on HD2?

I've seen there is live wallpaper on the touchxperience shell that schaps is working on. touchxperience.com
Thanks for the tips guys. I thought, if winmo omnia II can have different slates, then why not HD2....
ANyways, I guess there's a lot more than slates in Android SENSEUI
It seems, Either I have to adjust with winmo senseUI on HD2 and its 65K TFT screen or adjust with the smaller-screen desire and its android shortcomings (coreplayer and other incompatible softwares) . . .

Wm7 do I or don't I ?

Right. I am a android fan with the openess of android and customizing it to the Max's with custom roms and what not. But for me is the Ui customization side of it that I am instreaded in. So what I wanna know can you customize it to your own needs like custom icons for apps ? Animation ? Just looking into getting one to play with .. got HD2.. SGS and DHD... just wanna add to my collection lol

This is a device specific forum, maybe your post should have been in the WP7 General forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=608
Anyhow...

Nope and nope.
About the only visualisations you can modify are the theme and tile colours. There are some presets, but you can also use the registry hack to change it to your heart's content (details here).
EDIT: That's not quite true. You can also change the lockscreen wallpaper and the pictures hub background.

If you aren't tired of the endless tinkering, customizing, theming...then WP7 may not be the best device for you. But if you just want a sleek, fast/no lag/no hiccups of a phone that simply works...then yes WP7 is a good choice.
Well the Samsung was the phone that I was gonna get. Just the HTC HD7 is just bit to much like the rest of the HTC phones and the Samsung just looks a hole lot better.. na I like to tweak it so yea might be a good edition I am just a little worried with the lack of apps and lack of forms on this phone and wm7 on XDA don't seem to have many subjects and chats... still early days tho with wm7 so hopfuly some one will crack it and make a full customise rom.....

Agree. I got tired of always tinkering and flashing roms on my hd2. Windows Phone 7 is polished enough to remove the need for messing around and mods.
Also games and apps are higher quality.
Also happy not to see any sexy girl wallpaper apps im sure that makes up for 50% of android market
