i am looking to make a video out adapter for the touch pro i have. i saw the guide to do it with the headphones but i have 5 a300 blocks. so I wanted to have 3 rca conectors in it with usb charge. i have the adapter apart but the colors are not the same for the head phones. i have included a few pics of the insides.

so this is what i have found out after getting out the soldering iron.
purple is for left audio
blue is for headset sensing when grounded
grey when ground will prompt for tv out
yellow unused prolly mic
orange is for right audio
brown tv out
well i have learned a lot about this little adapter in the last hour. this is my plan know what i know and this is supposed to fit inside the adapter box.
3 rca plugs so any length of cable can be used.
usb charging is not an issue.
a switch to select tv out or heatset
and at least 1 of the headset plugs
3.5mm 2.5 mm extUSB "prolly not"
ok so i have finish a first trial of the video break out box. i was not able to keep the audio plugs that were in the a300 adapter there as the parts i got from my local radio shack were to large and they didnt have all the items i needed. i will be posting pics later of how it looks but so far i have video out and headphone support via hardware switch.
here are the pics of adapter version one. i have a few ideas im gonna do in the next one so keep watch and see how they go.
plans for the next try.
since i didnt have room for the audio hookups i am going to add a rj11 jack and a small switch to the adapter. i will then use a retractable phone line with solid one piece rca plug at one end.
the rj11 jack is 4 pin as well as the cable this will allow l/r audio, video and ground transmissons. i am hoping the rj11 jack is small enough to keep all the audio plugs there.
Easy Way
that is needed is the original -unmodified- multi-adapter
that came with the Touch Pro and a cheap ipod 3.5mm AV cable
Simply plug your ipod AV cable into the 3.5mm port on the multi-adapter,
plug the adapter in the phone, and set the following registry entry to a value of 1:
\HKLM\Software\HTC\H2W\TVOutCableIn
Immediately after it is modified, the Video Out format selection will pop-up.
Select the proper format for your display/TV, and it should immediately
show up on the big screen in beautiful color with perfect sound.
When you disconnect the multi-adapter, the value of the registry entry will revert to 0.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Apparently, not all 3.5 to RCA AV cable have the same pin-out as iPod compatible cables.
You must use iPod compatible AV cables or hope that you get lucky with whatever you've got lying around.

The XDA II has an external antenna socket, but I can't find what it is. I need to use an external as my boat acts like a faraday cage and kills all the signal!!
Even O2 don't know what the connector is. Can anyone either tel me or point me to an adapter / connector?
Looking at the back of the XDA II, its a hole with a rubber plug in it to the right of the camera lens. I don't know about connectors or adapters though.
on the back in the upper right corner is a black round plug.
(I really start to dislike DCS always two seconds earlier with the same answer )

The antenna I use is from a Sierra Wireless AirCard 750 and I believe you can purchase replacement antennas as well.
I know WHERE it is but no-body seems to know WHAT it is. Even O2 tech support said they would have to ask the manufacturer (but they didn't know how long that would take)!
Have you checked through an electronics supply catalogue (on / offline)?
Try RS components, Farnell, etc.

Take a look here: http://www.freedom-mobiles.co.uk/o2-xda-2-accessories.html they have an adaptor to plug in back of XDA II with FME connector on other end. Also there is a window mount aerial that uses FME connector.

I'm a member from Mtekk.com.au and this is my first reply here. I have found the Cellink Patch Cable for Motorola T720I, part number CAL2585 fits the XDA II antenna socket perfectly. As for the name of the connector, I haven't found this out yet. All I know, it isn't the connector pictured in an earlier post!

I'm about 90% sure that its an mmcx male connector (thats what the socket looks like to me) you need to be able to plug into the XDA2,

I have already searched for this... Now, having the right patch cable in my hands, I can say with 100% assurance that it isn't an MMCX male connector. It looks like a micro-miniature RCA male connector (no such thing, just my way to describe it!), with the outer shield contact cut into four. I have attached a pic of the MMCX connector specifications, and these look nothing like what is on the back of the XDA II. If you do find a match on the type of the connector, I would be very interested to know.

Might be easier to get a 2.5mm jack to a 3.5mm socket converter and then use a 3.5mm jack to jack to go into the car. In the UK, maplins sell the plug, but there are many providers, google for it.
Or, you could try soldering a 2.5mm jack to some wire to a 3.5mm jack, but that requires some kowledge of pinnings and audio connectors...

ok everyone forgets that HTC uses a 2.5mm jack with 4 poles instead of 3 poles and above that they use a WEIRD wire pin setting....
so forget premolded wires... you nearly HAVE to solder one yourself...
these are the pins of the 4 pole jack:

I do know this.. HTC uses a +9(ish)Volt wire to power the mic in the headset, so while experimenting I blew up the line-in of my soundcard.. needless to say: be carefull!
how is that strange? there s no other way to get ear plugs and mic connected through one jack... there are 3.5mm pins with 4 poles, too... e.g every sony mini camcorder has those connectors with ground/video/left a/right a in 3.5mm.
Well, I'm really cheap so today i decided to make my own mini usb to headphone jack instead of buy one. And I'm stumped i cant figure out what to solder where so could anyone help me?

Get a mini usb to stereo 3.5 from amazon.com 5.95 and 2.45 shipping. should arrive in a couple of days. mine did and works great. and no chance of frying your phone.

I got two, they work great plus they are inexpensive
i applaud the use of t rying to do it yourself, you are gonna need a soildering iron, but there is a tutorial online. google "how to..." and you should find it soon. if i had done it myself i would tell you but i don't likie wires so i have bluetooth
If you look closely at your original mini-usb plug or the socket of the mobile you will notice that there are a total of 11 pins (5 and 6)
in case you use only a mini usb cable you will contact the 5 pins.
These however are not used for the antenna, mic. or the headphones.

Hiya all - I have one of those car chargers/fm transmitters that work with all USB cables. I used to use it for an iPhone. With iphone, when you plug the device, the ipod would automatically send the music over the USB cable to the actual charger/transmitter, thus allowing me to listen to the music via car stereo speakers. Is it possible to do the same with Nexus One (trying just straight on didn't do the trick )

Most likely because it's an iPhone accessory and the iPhone has drivers for it which android doesn't.

If you get/have a head unit that has a USB port you can use your phoene and charge it if you mount the phone as a USBdevice.... ive done that with my G1 and it works... Other than that i dont know of any device for the N1 or any usb type device that does that....

USB is better, but NOT through FM FM is rubbish compared to jack cable.
I think he is talking about where the head just plays whatever files you have though the usb.
I don't have a unit that will read a usb mass storage.

If you have a car radio that can read from a usb storage device (e.g. a flash drive): Plug in the Nexus One and "Select to copy files to/from your computer".
Calling that "playing over usb" is a complete misnomer, though. The radio will just read the mp3 files over a usb data connection.
I've had a Galaxy Tab A 10.1 for over a year now and get the most use out of it by connecting a thumb drive via the usb connection (for viewing pdf files). It's worked great until a few days ago.
After connecting as usual there appeared a message at the bottom "something something disconnected" (the "something something" being I don't remember exactly what and the message disappeared before I could see) and now the usb/connection doesn't show up in the "My Files" window (just the "internal storage" and "sd" indicators, whereas before I got the additional thumb drive designation).
I've tried two different utg connectors, no good. I've checked the thumb drive in my pc, it's fine. I've tried connecting the tablet to my pc via the usb, it doesn't show up at all. I can still move files between my pc and the tablet via wifi but I want my usb connectivity back!! I suspect the connection the utg plugs into.
Also, (I'm not sure if this is a separate issue or related) battery recharge seems to take much longer ... is this a sign of the tablet getting old? I could understand if it was 3 years+ but 1 year??!!
Thanks for any help or ideas as how to fix this!

I'm assuming you are using an OTG cable to USB Drive or a micro USB drive right? In other words the part you plug into you Tab is a micro USB and not Type-C USB? If it is micro USB and not Type-C try this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGGdsMsK3VU. If it doesn't work the pins inside are probably damage and you need to replace the OTG cable or the drive, what ever you are using. If Type-C USB same thing. Needs replacing. Those pins ware out over time and use. Thats my best guess with out pics and further information.

Yes, I'm using a usb (to take the thumb drive) to micro usb connector. I suspect it's not a connector issue as I tried three separate connectors and none showed a connection to the tablet (i.e. the thumb drive did not show in the "My Files" page as it used to) ... all the pins on all 3 connectors look good, the fit into the tablet port is tight, no looseness. I've looked closer at the micro usb port on the tablet and I'm beginning to suspect that's the issue as a receiving contact on the outer edge seems to be damaged (possibly) ..

No Problem, I've never had a female Micro USB port go bad on me , but have heard of it happening. A good tug in the wrong direction I suppose could pull the solder connections apart or maybe even damage the innards. Is the Tablet taking a charge? I'm a little confused to actuality what part your referring too. Here is an image explaining what the different types of USB's I think you are using. Tell me what color circle you think is damaged. Or if you are using something else entirely different.
