Which rom and radio are you using? Also, when you say that you cannot make calls. Does the phone not connect when you hit the green button? Or does it come back telling you a network error message "MPL 01... your call cannot be completed as dialed" or something like this?

I'm using Rom NFSFan 1.15 and Radio 3.37.77
when i make a call the phone will say connected, and then the min counter will start after 30sec-1min the phone will drop the call with no error message or anything

Have you tried using a different rom? While I doubt it, it could be rom related. Do you at least hear the ringing when you dial out (before getting the dropped call)?

There has to be something wrong in your EPST settings. Your carrier has to give you all your NAM settings or else you will never make it work properly.

Sprint Hero and Conference Calling

I have been trying to make conference calls on my Hero. They don't work. I can make a call, and then hit Menu and select "Add Call". The phone will put the primary call on hold, I hear what sounds like a dial tone for about a half of a second, and then silence. The primary call is still on hold, and I can return to it when I "merge" the calls, but no conference. In fact the second number dialed is never rung.
I thought this was just a problem on my phone so I took it in to a Sprint Repair Center. While it was being looked at I tried making a conference call on the display Hero. No go. It didn't work either. So, I called a friend with a Sprint Hero as well and his wouldn't make conference calls either.
Is this a Sprint Hero issue? Is this a Sense UI issue?
I would love some more users feedback of what works on their Sprint or Non-Sprint Heros.
I get same results as you do, not an issue for me though as I dont use that feature.

Are you using a Sprint Hero or the GSM?
Here is what you do... I had the same problem.
When you are on a call press the GREEN Call Button ( its like flash on a landline ) you will hear a dial tone.
Dial another number once connected press menu and merge calls.
Works all the time.
I am on Sprint Hero.

Thank You. Wonderful. That works.
I would assume the problem is a bug in the Firmware, but that is an ignorant's guess.

This has been the proper method to make conference calls for a LONG time on Sprint. For some reason I ALWAYS try to use the add call myself, thinking that they've finally "fixed" it, but I suppose this is just the way it is.

Recent dialed/incoming call *does not show*

Hey people, you know when you call someone and it shows your recent dials? Mine doesn't show anymore..I've tried soft resetting it and it doesn't work either. How can i fix this problem?
Thanks.
The similar problem occurrs to me also, I just finished upgrade my G1 1.6 to 2.2. Everthing work perfectly normal except nobody can call to my mobile. The incoming will be sent directly to my voicemail and there is no incoming call screen shown at that time at all. However, that call will be shown on the call log screen as a received call. What should I do to fix this problem?

Hero Call issues.

Hey,
My fiancee has a HTC Hero and she's having some issues with it today.
She was on a call when all of a sudden the voice when all scrambled and screachy. Then the call dropped out.
After that, she hasn't been able to make or recieve calls.
When she tried to make a call the phone is silent on the dialing screen, then beeps once and returns to the phonebook.
She just recently received the OTA 2.1 update.
Thanks in advance!
If it wasn't a network outage (other handsets work at same location), tty rebooting (with battery removal), and if that doesn't help, return the phone for replacement. Some component inside might have burned out.
Thanks, she tried a reboot again and it seems ok. I did notice that she had WiFi turned on, so I have now turned it off to see if the issue occurs again.
Thanks,

I get this occasionally as well, calls drop and then not able to connect, despite having full signal. A reboot does tend to help, I too have noticed that if WiFi is on it seems to happen more often. Its a shame, I hoped this may be resolved by the 2.1 update
Bump!
I have had many calls missed as "calls are barred to this number" It is a joke! please help!

[Q] The Android OS is missing a very important feature !!!! Help us DEVS ..!

Umm.. am I or does the great android is missing a critical phone feature that was available on Nokia's MonoChrome Phones ??
CALL WAITING NOTIFICATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if I am calling someone and he is already talking to someone else and he has call waiting feature enabled I should get "WAITING" notification like I used to get on nokia phones but the Android does not have this tiny feature

I found out that samsung galaxy phones have this

This is to enable call waiting in our line. If I am calling you, and you are talking to someone else, what notification does my screen give? Let me try that, never thought about it until now...

I don't know about you, but my phone (running Nexus-HD2 Gingerbread) just beeps when I've got a call waiting. It is rather quiet, but it's there.
Guys you just don't get it
What I'm talking about is when I'm calling someone..
And that someone has call waiting enabled and is already in another call
In my old nokia n70 I used to get "waiting" notification appearing on my screen during the call process
But in android ...
It just rings normally with no notifications what so ever !!!!!
So I never know whither my contact is already in a call or not
So I keep on ringing and the other parry gets annoyed...
The only time I ever saw an actual notification in android was in some Samsung galaxy (I don't remember which , they all look the same to me )
A toast notification that says "waiting" appeared and disappeared
So please could some awesome developer confirm this and port this very important missing feature to our lovely androids ?

Whenever I call someone that has call waiting enabled and they are on a call I just get a ringing tone, as if their phone is ringing. I've never had any phone do anything different, so I don't know what you're expecting to happen.

Nokia phones have a feature that let's you know if the person you are calling has another call and your call is waiting on that person's phone.
So when you are dialing if you are looking at the screen of your phone you get a "Waiting" notification to let you know.
Well...Iunderstand what you are saying...yes nokia has that...but we also get an engage beep tone ...i don't get a ringing sound if the other person is on another call...that works for me..how do you get a ringing tone??? Never heard that In my country

You are missing the point..it is not about your call waiting... Eg. I call you and if you are on another call, my nokia phone would show that you are on another call by displaying a notice "call waiting" to indicate that you are busy. Yes this feature was also there on my motorola and nokia phones
I know what you are talking about, i have seen this. I used to get it on my HD2 with Win 6.5, but i honestly have not seen it on my HD2 with android.
I think it is a carrier thing also. I never ever got the "Waiting" message when calling vodafone or optus phones, only when calling other telstra phones. Never saw it when i was using vodaphone either, with any phone, only ever saw it on telstra.

[Q] Receiving calls issue

This happened almost every time when I receive a call.
When I pick up the phone as normal,
a few seconds later, the call is still going on but I am not able to hear anything.
Not even a noise!
I'm not sure whether this is a rom issue, kernel issue or the sim card...
Can anyone help me please?
Many thanks!
Could be either one. Try flashing a different kernel, if that doesn't fix it, try flashing a different rom.

Just in case: for incoming call if you swipe from right to left you do not hear anything while the caller gets your voice mail. If you swipe from left to right you get the call.
