Speakerphone turned-on automatically for every call, how to disengage? - HD2 General

For some reason, my dialer started to auto rotate whenever I bring up the dialer. I fixed this through a registry edit but it still automatically switches EVERY CALL to speakerphone! How do I turn it off and is this setting an option of the phone or what? I looked every where and couldn't see how this could have happened.
EDIT: I got this mini USB to micro USB adapter so that I could use my other HTC power adapter to charge the HD2. It seems that when plugged in, the phone auto rotates the dialer to landscape and then answers all call via speakerphone. I think its somehow detecting my power adapter as a sort of car kit. Is there any way to override this behaviour?

media player starts automaticaly
i have the same problem
please suggest a solution thanks

Indeed the motorola mini-usb to micro-usb charging adapter creates this 'feature'. The screen turns to landscape and the phonespeaker engages.
No solution for that I am afraid. But there are several other mini to micro USB adapters for sale. Smaller and cheaper!
p.e.

That means it must be some sort of pinout that is grounded in the plug. Maybe I`ll take it apart to see what's going on. BTW, mine only costs USD$4 and its smaller than the one in the photo. I didn't know this "special feature" came with it for free lol.

What? you mean sound pressure turns into electrical impulses, that charge the kaiser. I shout at my phone, and she lives, she lives.
I want one of these!!!
nah retard, a bluetooth enabled speaker dock that one can plug in ones phone to charge. doesnt even have to be bluetooth if it can use the usb port for its sound input.
Hey. Be nice We're all respected people and adults here (Well im not an adult but still ) No I don't think a device like that exists yet because you'd have to output your tilt's energy which could short out the phone so I don't think you should even try that.

Isn't this essentially the same idea?

The only difference is a speaker cradle would get its sound from the righthand connector (HTC D-style), and supply charging to the lefthand one (standard mini-USB).
I think he meant the speaker cradle would have a wall plug

Audio from Micro USB?

I was wondering if anybody knows for sure if the Micro USB port on the Nexus supports audio. I'm trying to find a single cable solution to charging the phone and listening to music in my car w/o resorting to bluetooth. I found this adapter on Amazon but:
a. It doesn't allow me to charge the unit
b. I don't know if the Nexus even supports audio through the USB
I spoke to a rep @ Google Tech Support and after some research he came back and said that it does but he didn't sound to sure of himself. I called HTC Tech Support and they were clueless and transferred me to accessories. Anyone have any idea if it supports audio, and if so, any 2-in-1 adapters out there so I can get at it (micro usb to 3.5mm jack + micro usb).
I asked this question in 2 other forums a couple days ago and so far nobody seems to know for sure.
If you're willing to wait i can let you know for sure tomorrow.
I have one of those adapters but its mini-usb, not micro. However, my friend has a mini to micro adapter so i can test it out tomorrow and let you know if you want.
I have been wondering the same thing for my car setup. Would be great to know.
Thanks!
Didn't work.
I'm not sure if it's because i used an adapter or not but when i tried everything went through the speakers like normal
I have the exact Moto adapter above (SYN2112A). I tried it and got nothing, music from the external speaker as normal. I cracked it open and found alot more electronics than I had hoped. I don't know what this adapter originally did, but it was not a simple way to route an unused microUSB pin as an audio stream.

PRoblem with Power Connector...

So my power connector has a problem. I can't get it to reliably connect. Just a little jostling causes it to loose connection. If this happens while I sleep, the power drains completely and my alarm doesn't go off.
Any idea how to fix this?
I'm pretty sure the issue is not with my wires because I've tried several - and tried the wires on several devices and they work fine.

It's the piece of (excuse my French)..........sh*t USB port on the phone. Mine has come loose too. Just got my warranty replacement and it freezes and the colors are off (like the whites are actually a light yellow.....wasn't like that on my old phone)
very true, you can attempt to clean out the usb port on your phone in hopes this will fix your issue. otherwise get ready to spend $5-10 on ebay and pick up a new port, of course you will have to solder this in so yeah, its a fun job
Mine has been this way since the day I got it. I actually just bought some Samsung micro-USB cables off Amazon that have a solid fit inside the phone, wonderful cables! Can't beat the price of them either.

[Q] MHL not working. Any ideas please?

Hi all,
My Note 3 is using the latest official UK firmware (although it's rooted) and the HDMI MHL feature refuses to work, and I suspect it may be the dock.
I bought this

Basically, I plug it all in, it says HDMI connected. I then switch to the HDMI source on my monitor, the phone then quickly says HDMI disconnected, then HDMI connected. However the monitor stays black/in HDMI saving mode.
I was sent a second one from the shop because the first one appeared faulty and the second doesn't work either. I've made a quick vid of my experiences...any ideas?
Shameless bump!
I don't know much about MHL, so I can't give you specifics, but I know there are 2 different pin configurations. The MHL cable I have came with a little tiny adapter for that, and the only way it works is if I plug the adapter into my phone, plug the MHL into the adapter, and plug power into the MHL. Maybe it's something similar?
Mine isn't Samsung, but this is basically what my cable looks like, with the adapter thing....
Cheers, yea I did wonder about that. It's one of these mass produced Chinese items so maybe the sellers have got it wrong and it's not Note 3 compatible at all! I've messaged them and I'll see what they say about it all. Cheers

The only problem with this is that you need to have a case to hold the darn thing on. And if you want to use the USB C port then you must remove the case, then the device attached, in this case the wireless pad, and repeat the process when you want wireless charging again. I'd like to see one that just temporarily attaches to the wireless charger with a C plug easily accessible. Nonetheless, if you can deal with the gyrations you need to go thru then it's a good idea and relatively inexpensive.

Agreed it is a pain. I use this on my Pixel 2XL. I don't use the usb-c port for anything other than charging (and occasionally usb-c headphones but I mainly stick to bluetooth headphones/earbuds) and it works just fine. Yes you do need to keep a case on it which is no big deal for me because I always keep a case on my phone. If you want to use the phone sans case then you'll need to remove the wireless pad as well; no big deal really. I would LOVE it if the Pixel 4a would have the option of wireless charging. Here's hoping.
