HTC Wizard Battery Problem - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hey!
I've got some problems with my Wizard, it started when i was on Vacation for 3 Weeks, and i forgot my Wizard plugged in to the PC over the USB Cable, with PC turned off.
After i came back, i found out that my Wizards Battery was not working anymore, found a thread somewhere where someone said that Li-on Batterys can be drained so much that they can't be charged anymore, so i bought a new Battery, and everything was ok for some days, but now, my Wizard won't turn on anymore now...
My Brother got an HTC Artemis, which has the same batterys as my Wizard, and if i plug that one in, the Wizard still boots like normal...
I suppose its an Hardware Problem... someone had the same problem as me?
Please help
Tho

nvm, i used the Guide found if you use Search for "Dead Battery HTC Wizard" and got my Battery working again!

My wizard doesn't start up anymore

Hi,
I have an unlocked wizard (MDA Vario) which worked perfectly for several weeks.
It was switched off, I thought because of an empty battery. I attempted to restart 3 times but it hanged during bootscreen ...
But the big problem is that nothing happens when I connect it to my pc to recharge, it doesn't even seem to charge when I connect it to the adaptor to recharge
So if it's a hardware failure, I cannot return it under warranty because in this situation I cannot relock it .
Can anybody help me out pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase ?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Stoffel
Im having the same problem... alomost.
My bettery died and then it wouldnt start or charge. I was told to take the battery out and grab an old charger and expose the wires and directly apply the wires to the battery. It worked but my 9100 died again beofer it could fully boot and it still wont charge. I have tried the wire to battery charging method again and it doesnt seem to work anymore.
You may want to give it a try??
Out of curiosity, what ROM do you have installed?
Thanks to Dalamario the problem is fixed ...
He provided this link with an easy solution for this very annoying problem . I really thought my device or battery was defect

Battery or device dead? Any chance for my G4?

Hi guys!
I had some hardware related problems last week with my wizard (G3). I sent it to vodafone and got a new device. The new device is a G4-Model, so I vistited the Wizard G4 forum to check out how to flash new roms to G4 models.
I flashed my wizard with the shelltool and got some problems while upgrading. My taskmanager said that shelltool doesn't respond anymore. I waited one hour and took the phone off the usb-cable, hard-reset the phone and everything was working fine (thought so).
After the setup i noticed that the battery was pretty low. I think it was about 7% or something like that. I put my wizard on charge via the usb-cable. I took it off the cable when the battery showed 27% because I wanted to go out.
After being away from home for 15 minutes the battery was down to 12%. I think about 15 minutes later the device was off - completely.
When I was back home at night, I put the wizard on the wall charger and went to bed.
This morning I noticed that the RED LED was constantly on... I was surprised that the led wasn't green, because normally it should be green after 5 hours of charging. I tried to turn my device on - nothing!
SteRo tells in this thread what to do, when the battery wont charge anymore. I tried it and this and till now it didn't work. I'm trying this at the moment one more time.
Is anyone out there who had the same problem or has an idea what happened and what i can do right now?
Please xda, help me!
Vi
EDIT: unimportant
What a beautiful day I tried the "direct" charge method from SteRo again and this time it worked! My wizard booted up normal and the orange LED started to shine
XDA - I LOVE YOU
Have a nice weekend!
EDIT2:
What a ****in day -.-'
Just checked my wizard for the charge status... guess what? it's off!
I have no idea what's going on... Please help me!
I trhink I would send that one back too since they just sent it to you. It's probably just a faulty battery though.
I had this thought too, but the problem is, that I have a WM6 rom on the device and I think that I've no chance to get back to a wm5 rom. Would you send it back immediately or qould you ask for help in a provider shop?
Thanks, Vi

WIZ don`t power up

I though my battery died so I bought new one, but it doesn`t respond also.
On friday there was problem with display and device automaticaly restarted
I opened it and something like this is not connected anywhere. I can`t see anything in service manual like that. Do you know what is it and where it suppose to be connected ?
That's a holder for the stylus.
There's a small screw that goes through it when it's in place and it holds the stylus from falling. It's very easy to place it back!

Ok, thanks, so it`s not for battery so my wizard is dead definitely
It may not be your battery!
I had my wizard die in much the same manner as your's. I thought it was a gonner until I ran across a site somewhere with a whole group of people with the same problem with their wizard. I'm only guessing, but I think you let your battery run very low and the device shut down, which is alright, until you consider that it cannot charge without the operating system (Windows)
up and running! I had to cut the mini end of a usb to mini usb cable, strip the black and red wires and hold the black to the negative pole of the battery and the red to the positive pole while it was plugged into the usb port on the desktop computer for about 20-30 seconds. Then replaced the battery in the phone, booted windows and recharged with the home charger. It worked great, but now I carry a fully charged battery with me, in case it happens again and I,m out somewhere where I can't jump start the battery with the cable trick. I think this method is also mentioned somwhere on this site. Good luck and let me know if it works.......
Oh. I also though it is the problem with charging, but the night before my battery was fully loaded and in the morning the phone died without possibility to boot up. two days later I`ve buy the new battery and put into the Wiz...nothing.
I asked salesmen if it`s possible that the new battery is charged under possibility of the phone, but he said it`s definitely not. So I suspect that something happened to the hardware.
I`ve tried connecting USB directly to the battery also, before I buing new one, but it also didn`t worked for me.
Before it completely died there was several hangups on today screen and once even on the booting splash screen, with the strange situation where the radio ROM was not displayed at all :/ ??
After this several reboot sesions it has not started again.
I didn't catch the whole story from the beginning, but did you drop the Wiz? I dropped mine, and I am going through the same exact thing with the Radio not showing up. Mine only gets to the first splash screen, and enters an endless reboot loop.
If we can find a solution to this problem, I'd DEFINITELY love it. Until then, I'll still be sad.

Hi there,
As you can see I'm very new to this forum but I too have just come across this problem this morning.
My battery was fully charged yesterday and I had my alarm set to wake me up this morning but it did not go off. I checked and it was all set ok so I did a soft reboot. It hasn't come on since. A took out the battery for a while and it managed to boot up to the WM6 screen but then switched off.
Now it seems the device doesnt even switch on
IPL/SPL 2.22.002 (I think from memory)
OS 6.0xxx
Running the TNT rom not sure what version (was ebayed)
Have you plugged it in through the wall, and not the PC? Somehow mine came back to life this morning, all I did was plug it into the wall AC power WITHOUT a SIM card, and it booted like normal first try.
