You need PIM backup or MS MyPhone for contacts.
There is no Contacts folder.

You also can use Jeyo Mobile Companion 2.0

you got them to your PC, how? Should be reverse to get to your new phone.
You can sync them through ms exchange and active sync, you can sync them through ms exchange and google, you can sync them through MS My Phone.
Perhaps you need to understand your device better as this is a basic transfer.

I know of no way to convert your .vcf files back to your device without outlook.
What I would suggest is to download program called My Phone, create an account and manually enter your contacts on the website, so for future use, you can sync through the program to any WM device.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

thx man
but if i installed office 2003
would i be able to do it?
and if yes please tell me how

I don't know if this can help:

You can import it with outlook by going to File\Import (I think) and select the file type vcf, or use a softrware like vCard Import/Export.
There are programs (BitPim) that can convert the vcf to delimited text, etc.
Also, I believe gmail can import a vcf file, then you can set up your google as an exchange server (Set up new mail with m.google.com as your server, domain can be anything you want.)
You must have all of your contacts in 1 vcf file. I believe there is a DOS command that can merge multiple vcf files but I don't remember what it is.
Hope this helps.

As simple as that
Who think that Bill Gates will make an OS without interaction between his Office suite ?
How to get more rich in 1 lesson !!!
I figured that also out, but I don't want to install outlook.
Any other options? Are there freeware programs available?

Of all the junk that Micro$ have churned out, Outlook is actually a rather good program - I'd recommend it over anything else
You either get another sync software that will let you sync with the software you use to manage contacts on your pc, or connect to your pocketpc using something like http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/rce.shtml that will let you control the ppc from your windows desktop.
Ok, another question
i used to sync my device with outlook with the option of combine contacts between the two devices, the peoblem now is that i have a many duplicated contacts over 1500 contacts, is there any program or tip to remove this duplicates easly.
thank u in advance
I haven't tried it myself, but I found this on Google:

How to restore contacts on WM2005

My thanks to buzz on his great work with WM2005, but I have a small problem regarding importing of contacts....as in i can't
I have the contacts list updated using xbackup but as we know the xbackup application doesn't work with wm2005. But i also have a full backup of my 2003SE ROM on my PC which surely must include my contacts information too. Now i have the STGViewer application and can browse all the files in it but I don't know where the file is that contains all the contact information and if it is even possible to transfer this across to WM2005. At the very least is there an application that will let me import this information into Outlook so i can sync or even present the data in a mannor so i can manually re-enter the contacts back into my phone...any ideas anyone?

If you browse to "My Device" you will find a file called "pim.vol" thats where all wm devices stores contact and calendar data!
Just copy the file and put it in the same directory on any other wm device, and restart the device, thats it, now you should have all your contacts and calendar information on the other device! FOR FREE!
No need to install any programs for doing that!
Good luck!

[SOLVED] How to import Outlook vcard (.vcf) into Vf. Magic???

Hi, I have a Vodafone Magic (Vf branded) and havn't rooted it now - will do it later these days.
But, I am searching - the whole day - a solution to get my Outlook contacts from my Windows Mobile 6.1 Trinity to my HTC Magic!
I've managed to export the vcf-files from my winmobile now so it should not be too difficult, but have no idea and find nothing on the internet to get them on the Magic.
Tried vcard IO and ImportContacts, but no chance on Magic - if it worked for you pls tell me!
My own Notebook is in reapair these days, so I have no Outlook installed here - only Ms Mail. But it should work with vcf or csv files...!?
Hope somone has a good idea!

Import your contacts to Google contacts and sync to your phone.
hi thx for the answer! yes I thougt about that too, but 1. don't really want google to know my contacts (maybe no way around) 2. haven't found any option in googlemail to add contacts from vcf files or otherthings - do you know where?
You have the Hero ROM - is it easyer there?
thx brianius
vCardIO worked perfectly on my Magic.

Really??? How do you handled it? Needed a Multi-vcf-file or does it scan the folder? When i entered my folder "/sdcard/_install/contacts/" it writes "importing contacts..." and a statusinfo opens, but no contacts where imported!
When i try to use a single vcf like "/sdcard/_install/contacts/Name Surename.vcf" it writes "file not found" - i have no idea why!
will check this once more and put a vcf in the sdcard folder...maybe it will work
thx
SOLVED
Yeha! Thx guys! I solved my problem! OIvCard works fine! Was only a problem with the subfolders and that it only reads one vcf-file each time. So for everyone who got problems with importing from outlook try this:
To get my files from my Windows Mobile 6.1 without Outlook, I used this nice wm-app as trial: vCard Manager.Net
- export vCards from Outlook/Ms Mail/WinMobile/etc. - if possible save all as one vcard, or
- (search for a vcard joiner or copy and paste all the vcf-files with the editor/notepad into one file and save as "contacts.vcf")
- move the contacts.vcf on your android phone to "/sdcard/"
- install (appStore) and open IOvCard and press "import"
- should be imported in less than a minute - if fails, check the path and the fileextension!
Hope this will help somebody...

[Q] Syncronising Contact List via Microsoft My Phone

Hi there..
I'm going to ask you very simple question.
Is there a way to import contact list to android via Microsoft My Phone service?
I have more than 200 contacts in my contact list.
Its easy thing to do but kind'a waste of time..
How do the starters import their list for the very first time?
NOT: I also tried to syncronize my SD android via pimbackup data. I had it done once but the syncronisation thing.. i couldnt find where i should do it.
Just a newbie question
Thank You
I found no way to sync my android with myphone... sorry
Outlook exchange is easiest way for me. MyPhone is a WinMo application/service (Microsoft), and so won't run on android.
Can also use gmail, m:IQ (no idea, just read it somewhere else), myBackup (Again, just read it). Also search market for "contacts" will produce many apps to back them up to SD card.
Hope This Helps.

That is what i couldnt success!
4. The extracted file should be BACKUP.CSC. Simply change the extension to .CSV and import the file to your gmail account.
All your contacts can now be imported to your phone through gmail
But how? There is no import/file upload menu in our gmal settings
That is where im stuck!
- just follow the instructions given in the phone's contact menu.
