i got my jade in Singapore but i live in Europe my rom version is 1.40.723.2 dated 27.10.08.
1. I would like to know is to upgrade EU rom or ASIA rom .
2. If it is wise to upgrade the rom and if its relay essential to do it.
can the phone lock for some reason if i upgrade the rom.

Same thing as me, the phone is from Singapore starhub, I flash it to the lastest Asia rom on the day I got it.
1) Of course you can flash it to EU rom if you prefer, it doesn't really matter.
2) New rom always came out with some bug fixed but sometimes it can be worst than the old rom so try yourself and choose which one you prefer.
3) No, the phone won't get lock just flashing the rom.

hello guys i bought my HTC magic since 3 weeks from malaysia loyat center ...any how the firmware was android 1.5....i went to the HTC website i upgrade my HTC ROM to ROM Version: 3.03.728.4 latest version available now...but what written on the rom is:-

as u see in the link....is the mean my phone is not unlooked now..? i mean my phone can be used only in Indonesia, Malaysia & Vietnam only...or still accept sim card from other countrys ..cuz im from turkey..i wonder if it will work in my country later or not..in my country we use the sim card ..same like malaysia...so will it work there..?
you may unlock your htc at your country if it blocks your sim card
a bit off topic, but how much do magics go for in malaysia?

have u tried ur phone back there in ur home country ??does this rom have android market???.....mine is also malaysian version.I did'nt upgraded for the fear of it getting locked.

Try putting your S/N in HTC site and see if you are able to download soft.

ok i just got new htc hd2 in croatia its unlocked with generic htc rom ,Rom is
1.48.479.1(71294) WWE says on phone ,but as i try to download new rom from htc site it wont allow me to download new 1.66 rom with my serial its says sorry this software is not suitable for your device but in that rom version it clearly says ROM Version:
Norway:1.66.409.1, Spain :1.66.412.1, Denmark:1.66.403.1, France :1.66.406.1,
Sweden:1.66.413.2, Italy:1.66.408.1, WWE:1.66.405.2
that WWE that means i should download it with no problems ,can anyone know what to do i emailed htc already ,what that WWE means and can anyone explain to me why they wont give me rom on my phone it says WWE and on that new rom it says WWE:1.66.405.2 so i relly dont get it anyone pls explain help really apriciated ty

lol hold on with hacking and cooked roms i just wanna have offical htc hd2 rom and wanna know why damm htc wont give me that rom on my serial when it clearly says WWE on my phone and on that newest 1.66 rom

Sounds to me like an eastern european rom, not a wwe. You will not be able to flash wwe as it is a different region. You need to go read and read and read teh HSPL threads.
yea but in phone it says WWE what u think will there be offical 1.66 for that part of europe or i need to hack it to install i am total nab obout it i just got it with 16gb micro sd i was reading here alot before i got it ,i just got it becose of that 1.66 rom that sms bug was keeping me away from buying it now when 1.66 was out i buy it and cant get 1.66 on it lol damm htc well ill go read hspl threads but will i lose my warranty and will anything be difrent as that other roms are for other regions

You won't lose your warranty because the are directions on how to get the spl back.
I am Glaven from Malaysia. Recently rooted and using custom rom.
I would like to back Stock RUU Rom. But the Stock ROM that i found out is WWE.
So i cant find English Malaysia inside.
Would like to seek help from expertise to get back the Stock ROM i want which had English Malaysia.
