Just enter video capturing mode in camera application. Then enable flash. Voila, you have a LED flash!

I flashed Ravyvitto's latest 3.0 rom and my text message time always shows 5 hours behind.
For example: It is 7 PM but it shows 2PM.
I tried to change my timezone to GMT-0 and it was fixed but it screwed up everything in the calendar.
I have tried this fix on registry but it didn't work
HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\TrustTimeZoneField = 0x00000000(0)
Any one know how to fix this in Acer neotouch?

I'm just wondering, since I've never read anyone complaining, if my F1's camera is "out of order".
The symptoms are as follows:
Pictures only come out a little sharp if taken out side on a sunny day. Indoors, they are always blurry, unless I set the phone on the table and set the cam timer, so that no one touches the phone during shutter release.
I've tried setting iso to higher values so shutter speed would be higher, thus compensating for any hand movement, but that option does exactly nothing, seems merely cosmetic.
Turning on the led flash results in over exposed pictures if taken at close range (or it's useless if the subject is a little further) AND STILL BLURRY, as if the camera has no idea the flash will light up when I press the button.
Anti-shake mode is useless also.
I've been trying every ROM "in the book", but none of them solve the problem.
Even if no one has a solution, i'd like to know if this happens only on my F1 or if it's a common problem to all of us.

I believe it is common problem to us all. Unfortunately ACER camera is very poor!

Yep the camera hardware used in the acer s200 is not the best one out there sorry.

Tap and hold on the icon you want to move, then, when there is a circle you can move it where you want.
I think he is refering to Windows mobile 6.5 and 6.5.x
The start menu position is depended from your OS Version Windows mobile 6.5 has the orginal start menu position on Top
6.5.x has the Start menu position you are looking for. Contacts and overall the whole menu becomes more finger friendly with this version, however some old applications might not work properly anymore.

hi my GF have an acer neotouch that I've upgraded to the last version of FW the 3.00c if I wasn't wrong
and now she has a problem
before the upgrade she could unlock the screen by slide her finger on the four soft-touch keys, now she can only lock the screen by press the shoutdown button..
can someone tell me how to have that feature again?

yes, if you go to start > preferences > Phone you will see the option called 'wake up when any key is pressed' tick this and your done : )

It does not "run in the background". It does a quick update of the datafile(s) every time you reboot. Apart from that it only runs when you start it.

- changed it to use application folder in paths instead of hardcoded 'Bredita' path
- changed it to save uptime.txt in application folder
- changed minimum OS version to 1.0, i guess this will let you install it on earlier windows versions. I don't know if it will run well on older versions. please tell me if you successfully use it on anything earlier than windows mobile 5
- added menu item: "About" and removed version number from main screen
- added menu item: "Help" and removed help button from main screen
- added menu item: "Fix startup shortcut"
- moved "Uptime.txt" to the application folder (The folder where B_Uptime is installed) instead of the root folder
- it no longer exits when it looses focus (or you click the X), but it does stop the screen from updating every second
- added exit button which stops the program (does not keep it running in the background)
- aware of screen rotation (works in landscape mode too)
- the time of last boot/last hard reset/first install is shown next to the date, in landscape mode
- better method of calculating the "last boot" timestamp the first time b_uptime is installed

I made a colleague at work try if it was working on 2003SE. It worked, but The cab file would not work (some complaint about incorrect windows version or something), so I had to (beam the exe file to him via infrared and) install it for him manually. It worked once we got it installed. (this was version 0.3)
I hope that the new cab file will at least let you install it on all PPC windows versions, but if the program works is another question. My best guess is that it works on CE with at least compact framework 1.0. It does not require compact framework 2.0. And it needs a memory card. Try it and please tell me if it works
BTW: I just corrected a little bug (i had swapped "Idle time" and "processing time" in portrait mode). The 4 people who managed to download the 0.4 cab file before I corrected this bug should download and install again. Sorry about this mistake.

Version 0.5 is out:
- the time part of the last boot timestamp, the last hard reset timestamp and the first install timestamp all showed the time from last boot. Fixed.

Confirmed working on my friends Ipaq 4700 just now (2003SE).
I haven't done any detailed checking (he's in plymouth, I'm in oslo ) but it runs and seems OK.
(I had to switch off compression in the cab file, because 2003SE don't like compression. Re-download the 0.5 version and give it a go...)

Yes it seems lika a good idea to have an app that tracks how many calls you make etc.
My employer pays my phone bill, so I'm not too interested in counting it myself, but I made a little MortScript to "prove that I could" show the call timers from the registry once, and OffBeatMammal translated it into a proper application. The thread is here:

I see the need for also "remembering" the values even if you hard reset, and it is not too difficult to save the values to a "logfile" like I do with B_Uptime. Maybe OffBeatMammal would be interested in adding this feature. Ask him in the thread

This version maintains a bootlog, and lets you enter a description/reason for each reboot:

Seems this Today plugin has great features, but it doesn't work correctly on my Wizard. For example: I restarted my device yesterday (actually just to test this plugin) at about 7pm and it shows that currently since last soft reset is only 3:50 but really more than 12 hours. :?
I'm not strong in programming, but seems any wm2003 plugin related to uptime doesn't work correctly on wm5.0 at least on my.
bredita: If you get till some plugin programming and it is possible it would be nice to hove something like this plugin.
Personally I am most interested in uptime since last soft reset and since last full charge

I'm about to give up on the today plugin....
The tutorial says to "Perform a Release build of both the TodayScreenDataMgr and TodayScreenPlugin_NETCFHost projects" in step 3. It looked easy when I read it, but I haven't managed to actually do it.
I need help building the two dll files, and I have searched the web and newsgroups but I mostly find this kind of help, which isn't really helpful.

bredita - have you tried any of the today screen item bits that have full source code? There's at least one on MSDN, and there's a few other tutorials out there on the web (ppc developer network website, for example) that may be more informative as well.
I was hoping for an easy solution (the idea of a "plugin host" that I could just feed my html-formatted today info to seemed very tempting at first). But it turns out theres problems with that (apart from the fact that I can't build it) - no transparent background for example. This wouldn't make my "customers" happy ofcourse. Nobody wants a today screen plugin that obscures the picture of the half naked woman they have put on their otherwise too cluttered today screen
I tried a few other examples as well, but havent really got anywhere.
I finally broke down and I have decided to do things the proper way. Which means writing my own today plugin in C++ (by stealing lots of bits from others examples ofcourse).
So I got myself a copy of "C++ for dummies" (yes, you're allowed to laugh now) yesterday and I am currently on page 195. Less than 200 pages left. I have actually done a little bit of C++ programming "many" years ago, so there has been no big surprises yet, but it's been a good way to refresh my memory.
I want to finish reading the book, then (maybe) read another book that targets .net programming, and then (maybe) rewrite B_Uptime completely in Embedded Visual C++, and then have a go at the today plugin.
So it won't be done tomorrow. Maybe it won't be finished at all. But you can't say that I'm not trying

Known issues (beeing worked out)
- When changing to landscape the flash clock or the calendar may appear infornt of everything
- Weather problem (solved by using this patch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2480618&postcount=979 Thanks cesc!!)
- On some devices contacts 3d mode is slow or may not work. Use plain mode instead.
- Flash may be slow on some devices and may drain battery faster. Understand flash implies very intensive CPU usage.

I will upload my setup when I get my stupid 19701 build rom working properly
looks great! but, i cant get the default setup cab to install, just keeps telling me install unsuccesful. i tried soft resetting and installing again, to no avail. the actual program itself installed fine. also tried the exe setup and get the file is corrupted error.
nevermind. right clicked then saved target, now file size is right. thanks again for the great app.

I've updated first post with the info. It's WM6 and WM5 compatible and I've developed it using VS 2005 so must be compatible with NET.CF 2....

Sorry for the bug you may have found... May I ask what kind of bugs are you experimenting? Theorically it must work quite fast on a 400 Mhz CPU like your's. I've tested it on my Herald and works quite fluent.

The glitch is now gone. What happened was the wallpaper of my today screen turned grey and stayed grey until I did a soft-reset. Also the keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen kept showing up on top of the Throttlelauncher icons.
One thing I notice is that when scrolling the bottom icons, there is a freeze when the second hand moves on the clock.
Also, I tried adding a contact...it seemed to work fine. I tried adding another...then it stopped responding...the new contact didnt appear. I could still scroll the bottom icons, but selecting any of them didn nothing, it didnt respond. I had to soft reset.

Hi!!
You can try making it transparent by two methods (both experimental) but probably it will be too much for a 195 Mhz processor... It's is for my Herald (overclocking to 273 make faketransparency look near smooth). If you wanna try it, access the setup config dialog (Through ThrottleConfig app) and go to experimental tab. There set to true even truetransparency (the slowest option) or fake transparency, click save, exit and then click the reload button.

I installed it, but I kept on getting errors while trying to run it. Now I cannot uninstall it (via "Remove Programs"). How do you manually remove it? Thanks!

First of all sorry for the errors. Can you specify what kind of errors you get please? (to try to solve them for next release. Also, have you installed both cabs? (the default themes cab too).
Someone has also had some problems uninstalling here you have the description on how he got it solved .

Most of my errors were due to Certifications, but I changed the rom yesterday night and all that went away. I did what the post said, but no luck. I think that the problem was that I tried to manually uninstall it before I read your post, and I erased the other reg key as well as the program folder before erasing the one in "Security". For future reference (at least for me), order does matter Aw well, i guess it is back to re-flashing for me. Thanks for your help though

About the touchflo 3D... I'm currently working on a new way of scrolling similar to the footer of touchflo 3d. I've it already working but I wan't to improve graphics before releasing. If you mean if you can make something similar to the weather animations and that stuff.... I'm sorry to say no.... Any way I can try to develop a setup close as possible to touchflo 3D.

I am going to try and adopt a "release early release often" strategy because I belive this will help me get to the bottom of most bugs as quickly as possible. Finally found the bug with the friendslist. Thanks for all the feedback guys.
Cleaned up the code a little. When selecting a friend to view the app will immediatly retreive the image and cache it for the list, else the images are fetched one by one in making sure we dont call the server too much.

Fixed the Wall bug. I cleared the list once too many lol
Made it a little prettier.

Let me clear a few things up
Right now the main objective is to get this app working correctly. Once that is done, I will spend time writing new controls to make it look like the mock screen. So many things are still going to change. Just dont see the point in writing controls only to find I am not going to use them.

Okay so I am having a little bit of an issue with the pretty controls. The bottom tab is working correctly, doesnt slide like manilla but it hilights the button when pressed and activates the appropriate tab. Currently the testing is working in qvga portrait mode, As soon as I have the landscape stuff reallining properly the 1st beta will hit the post. This should be ready later tonight or tomorrow morning. Currently I am using standard tab controls. I want to make sure everything works as expected before I start making the custom controls.
One last thing. The program caches friends profiles and does a check when connecting to check for changes. This is currently taking just a tab too long for my liking. Do we need caching ?

MS Seem to have swallowed a retarded pill and managed to "forget" to add the rich text box control to netcf 3.5. I am going to try something with the klistcontrols used by so many finger apps for the chat part of the program. A few more tweaks and I will have the beta up in about an hour from now (13:15 SAST)

I love the styling, It fits with both Facebook and a fresh and fast user interface for a touchscreen. I am expecting this is a fullscreen only app? (no top and bottom bars/curtains from windows mobile visable while using.)
And one big feature would be a 'poke' ability as the iPhone page does not, and only the m.facebook page has it. (did not see it on your feature list.)
In any regard, great ideas and work so far by both you and kidnamedAlbert.

Seems I'm the first one to reply, so here's my opinion. Please take this as constructive criticism. This program seems like a nice replacement for separate contact and dialer applications. However, at the momemt there are a few things that need to be fixed before I'd consider migrating:
1) Smart-dialing. Not debatable. This needs to be included by default. It is just, simply put, *the* most effective way to dial.
2) Appearance. I remember reading in the previous thread that someone thought the screen was too "complicated"/crammed. I think I'd have to agree. I think it's the monotonous cell-like layout that is off-putting.
- Consider brining in some variation.
- Make the dailpad's appearance different to the rest of the app.
- Consider a more "organic" appearance.
- Remove unnecesary items from the screen and list in soft-key menus.
Being a beta or pre release of this program we know about some bugs... hopefully there will be a way to to have a tweak for it to have this fix because it becomes irritating overtime and like ROMS we have to flash or to uninstall this immediately
although nice to have a keyboard which has less than 500kb

Thanks for your remarks.
The most effective way to dial, in many times is the way you use to. I think that any system that gets you to the contact you want in a 1-2 seconds, is a good one. The o3touch system will bring you to the contact as fast as any other good system. It is also a meter of some training and selecting the best approach, considers the total number of contact you have. Try the “1-2 letters + space + 1-2 letter, for over 1000 contacts, try the 2-3 letters for less, try the “contain ..”, try switching between them as you search, and find the best for you.
The main point is what should take place following finding the contact. The application offers a full ability to manage the data as well as sending SMS or email, and many other options, all within the same environment.
I have tested the application for 3 month with over 200 users. It may take some time to get familiar with the different approach. Many times the first reaction is about the look and not about the do. Most of the time users study very fast how to do what. My offer to you is to give it a real one hour try.

What is the language that you want to switch to?
For the moment the application “talks” in English Russian and Hebrew. (Setting screen 3, row 3)
It very easy to translate and to add a new language. Also you can use a special desktop tool for the process of translation and producing the needed XML files.

I took a look at the different xml files, 2 things....
- not clear what files to change
- can't seem to find the original english language files... and i don't understand one word from the hebrew or russian files...

The main purpose for the application is to support one hand fast operation for the common daily tasks. The QWERT keyboard needs too much room on the screen for one hand (and no stylus) operation. Sorry to say but for the moment, other things are in the ToDo list for the next version.
Thanks for the support. We buy top technology, full of graphic effects, and the day after go to look for solutions, in order to do the simple tasks in human way. It makes users displease, also to forget that it was not me to promises anything. The application concept is: No to scrolling and No to dragging, just Touch what you want and Touch More if you want more. It is not what we were told we should love and adore. Some time it is so easy that users can no find the obvious touch. It also offers a solution that works the same on any device, so it will follow me to the next one. Not everyone will install such a dull UI to notice its efficiency, and certainly not every one must like it.

Sorry for that, it will be fixed. If I remember correctly, you also advised to move the “Close” button in the contact info page to the center...
As for refreshing the screen, it is a known issue that accrues also in the situation of waking up the device while the app is on screen. For now, touch the “Fast dial” button a long press and it will refresh the screen.

Let me tell a few words. I've made a russian translation of this excellent software. I'm trying to promote it in russian forums. I see two kinds of responces. Positive and not. I'll try to explain my thought.
IMHO, main raeson of o3touch dislike is not complete understanding of it's main ideas.
- o3tocuh is designed for one-hand operating, so there are no qwerty-keyboard, only phone-style dialpad. For devices with small screens it's may be a better solution.
- o3tocuh trying to spped up contact search. Try to turn on "Contains..." mode for search, and see it. I have about 100 contacts in my phonebook, but now I usually find needed one in a 3-4 clicks. One letter from name, space, oe letter for surname. Done. I didn't think that T9 search will be much faster, but also I think Arie will implement it in future, if it's so necessary.
- o3tocuh is designed to minimize memory and space usage, so there is no glittery-skins, 3D sound effects and so on. o3touch is like guud business class - not shining, not visually stunning, but you get's all you need. Two skins for day and night is enough for usual needs. Maybe in future, will be added color scheme editor. But as for me, it didn't makes much sence.
In conclusion, I can said - if you didn't try o3tocuh - please do it It takes not much resources, and runs good on any screen resolution (even wide-ones). If you tried and didn't like - give another chance, it's worth it.

The development of mLock is stopped.
There are different reasons for this decision but the most important one is, that if no time for the further development.
After mPlug, here is my second attempt to build a Windows Mobile application, it's called mLock.
mLock is at the moment only a passcode device lock with no settings except for your own passcode. In the future I will build a settings tool for changing passcodes, show/hide SMS, Email, MMS in passcode screen etc.
Also I try to implement a application lock so that you can define several applications that will be locked by mLock when someone will launch them.
It's very important that you report me every error (maybe with screenshot). That's the only way to make the app bug-free.

so is this going to be able to locke individual applications..for example if i just dont want anyone to read my messages will this program be able to lock only my messages

No, because I've still some little bugs which I want to fix before I release it. I found them today while playing around with mLock.
I'll release it in the next two days.
i think you need to implement the slider option on this it looks just as good as slide to unlock and it would be a true iphone copy it looks like to me...

No I won't implement a Slide2Unlock Option therefore I recommend you to take S2U2. Maybe I'll add a option to start mLock after S2U2 is unlocked. Let's see what's coming
My suggestions for what it's worth...
1. Lose the iPhone look
2. Bigger buttons to be more finger friendly
3. Option to wipe device after a user specified number of wrong attempts

1. The application will be fully skinable, so do what you want.
2. The buttons are big enough. I don't have small fingers and I can control all buttons with my thumb.

I have been looking for an app that has more extensive security features and asked developers to look at my suggestions, alas no feedback so far! so my suggestions:
1. my phone is for work with staff, work with clients, family for home, and personal. So I would like a pin code access for different purposes.
2. My contacts and my calendars and my tasks are all categorised, so each of these should be visible or invisible depending on the passcode entered. So work is visible at work and all others hidden. All work hidden when at home, failed passcode hides everything, private passcode shows everything (rather advanced and unlikely)
3. I would like contacts and tasks and calendars either negative or possitive categories visible with a particular passcode, eg show with category=X only, and show if category <> Y
4. I would like emails from multi sources (hotmail, gmail, yahoo mail and works push email) AND text messages visible or in visible depending on whether the contact is also visisble or invisible bsed upon there categories
5. Keyword inclusions could also be set to visible or invisible. That is if a text email or diary contact or task contains a particular key word, make invisible
so what I don't want is the public seeing anything at all that just want to look, my staff seeing my private stuff, my clients seeing my private or staff stuff and my family seeing my work stuff.
At this point I go into major freaks and cardiac fits if anybody touches my phone.
So, that should keep you busy for a while!

the hard reset option after several wrong attemps is a nice idea. It will prevent any data theft if the phone is stolen or something...

What you're talking about is a completly different programm (sense). I think what you're looking for is something like that. It's not my target to code such a application, I only want to develop a access control for the device and several application when someone launches them. Sorry that I can't help you with your wishes.

I've installed this on my device, couple of bugs/problems
1 - It does not launch, crashes with an error message "Can't find gfx\dot.png". There is no gfx folder in the dir.
2 - In Remove Programs it shows as mPlug rather thean mLock. The cab file does not seem to have dot.png in there.

Too early for me to dive in (mine is a WVGA device and I'm looking for the app lock feature which has yet to be implemented).
However, I will be watching this thread with great interest and wish you luck in your work merlot.
will the newest version work on a vga touch pro cause id really like to use it!!! if not then can you make a vga version please!!!
It's on my ToDo list but I don't know when I can do it. I've only little time at the moment and I'm currently working on the settings tool.
