which of the two do you want to delete? the internet mobile of the HTC one?
Anyway, it does not matter which one you want to delete. IMHO there are two ways to delete one of them:
1. On the internet tab, yo have on the bottom two possibilities, e.g. menu and favorites. Press menu and you will get the items add or remove favorite quicklink. Press the x of the one you want to delete and its finished. If that does not work, the you can try:
2. Instead of pressing the menu on the bottom, press favorites. Also, there you have on the right bottom the menu possibility. Press menu and choose delete. When you pressed delete, you will see empty squares right to each favorite. Tick the one you want to delete and press ready (left bottom knob). Job done.

With a registry editor, have a look at
HKLM/software/htc/manila/Home/ and you will see a set of numbers, 0-9 (or more)
These are the links on the home page.
Have a look in the 0 one, and scroll down to 'IsReadOnly'. I think that will be set to 1, , change that to 0 and it should unlock the shortcut, then you can delete it.

I am sure that the solution posted by samsamuel and kuzibri is not working.
The way to delete is very simple for me, tap and hold the shortcut you want to delete until a notice "Drag and release the shortcut to remove" appeared. Then, pull it out of thumbnail area, done!
However, I am not sure it work always because I used Co0ckie Home Tab V 1.7.1 and CHTEditor 1.7.1

Changing "Programs" link in Start Menu

Hi All,
I was wondering of there's a way to change the Start menu or the "Programs" Link in the Start Menu to open another application. I want to develop something like gStart, but for PocketPC (on smartphone u can change the a registry key to set another application as the default app when u click "Start" button). Mio A700 screenshots has a gr8 MioMenu very nice and sexy so i want o do something like that.
thanks for your help
On PPCs the start menu works like in regular windows – there is a folder ("start menu") under windows with all the shortcuts. You can change the files there, create subdirectories etc.
You can also catch the taskbar window (class "SS_TASKBAR I think…) and just cover the start button with your own window.
Hope this helps.
you must edit the shellres.dll file , in this file has the path to the "programs folder"
I think he was pertaining to a custom "programs menu" like calling for example folderview.exe and not the Path or not where the folder is being called.
A programs menu replacement instead of using the defualt one.
I actually saw an app like that some time ago, it was very small like a few kb and just lied in the background waiting for you press the start and when you did it launched an app of your choice instead of showing the start menu...
Don't remember the name though : / think it was based on something called green button or something which is basically the same thing but for the call button... maybe you should around some, or hopefully someone knows what i am talking about and can give you a link

You could add a shortcut to any other folder and then hide the programs link. To do this, set the Programs folder to hidden.

Yup pretty much like that, but except for the Start or Windows Start, the "Programs" with in the start menu is being intercepted and launching an alternative "Programs Menu"
I guess the only way is to make an ordinary Start Menu replacement (same as the defualt Start Menu) with the exception of having the "Programs" launch another program.
This way, looks and feels of WM is still the same.

How to re-assign command bar?

I'm using Atom Pure /w WM6 0.7.2 01172008C1WWE 6MBPP
+ HTC Home Plugin
I have silly questions:
how to re-assign 2 shortcut on the (bottom) command bar on the first page?
T.q.

can you explain further what you wanted to create shortcuts mate? is it the soft button(left and right) at the bottom. If so, just use the built in soft key customizer in the ROM.
hi brian
i use the key customizer, but when i change it, it's say "error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename"
what should i do ?
thank you

do it this way, lets say you have installed htc action screen and wanted to create a short cut on the left soft key.
open soft key customizer, then select customize.
label anything like NEW or HTCA or anything that you want. (In my case I use new) click ok
Then select the correct path with the .EXE e.g. /windows/HTCActionScreen.exe (I believe it should be written precisely if it's upper case or lower case so correct me if im wrong hehehe)
You are almost done! just select anything you want on the right softkey.
Yes on soft reset, presto! a new short cut on the left softkey!
Hope this helps
ow, i see how it works now, thanks brian
oh, i forgot to mention that calendar, contacts, messaging (in the option) don't work, if i select it then tap the key, it say "error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename"
how can i fix this ?
is there anyway to deactivated the softkey customizer ?
i mean to change back to the default setting
thank you

all the options worked for me. calendar/contacts et al. I personally use it to assign htc action screen on left soft key.
If you want the default ones, just run soft key customizer again then select what was the default key before then soft reset.
that's the problem, the calendar, contacts and messaging didn't work, so I can't select one of them for the right side softkey
Oh well, this is my first problem with this ROM, overall I like this ROM
Thank you

Mapping Start button directly to programs folder

Searched around for quite a while and couldn't find a solution to this, maybe someone with with more knowledge on resource hacking can help out.
Using the start menu on WM Professional devices is not conducive to single handed use, its actually quite cumbersome. I would like to remap the *on-screen* start button to simply open the programs folder ala WM Smartphone. Is this possible? I believe it would be much easier to manage on the go and would skip a step which is always beneficial. The only problem I could see is creating a link to "settings"
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Search for the application folderStartPgm.exe
And after from Settings -> Personal -> Buttons, assing the button to this application(firs must to make a shortcut points to \startmenu\programs folder
I've seen that before, and although very cool I would still like to remap the Start button and avoid an unnecessary step. Any other ideas?

cant find folderStartPgm.exe in windows folder ??!!
I don't know about mapping the Start button to bring up the applications folder, but using WA3 (or probably a registry tweak but I don't know it) you can remap the Start button to Windows\Start Menu\Programs, and have all of your applications displayed in the first drop-down menu rather than just 7. It also leaves access to Settings too...
Copy the attached file programs.lnk , to your \windows\start menu\programs , and use the buttons settings to bind the link to the program.lnk
---
To create a shortcut to a folder:
Use Total commander, browse to the location of which you want to make a shortcut, highlight the folder/file you want, from the File menu in Total Commander, choose >>>> on top , and then choose create short-cut, then save the output link to the \windows\start menu\programs.
---------------
Hope this helps

Sounds like a great alternative to the classic (limited) start menu, but I want it gone completely. It's too cumbersome for use in the car.
Anyone?

This is a great idea and rereading my post I can see how it may be slightly confusing, you see I want to change the Start menu button in the top left corner of the screen that opens the menu to directly open the programs folder. If anyone of you has used a windows mobile smartphone you know what I mean. That way all you have to do is tap the top left section of the screen and scroll to your app. no more tiny menu to hunt and peck on while trying to do important things like you know driving, or bike riding, etc...
Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys.

It isn't in windows directory. Search in the forum or google to find it. After download, copy it to your device and make a shortcut for the program like explained above.

yeah someone upload it here
Me to has been looking for this. To make pressing the on screen windows icon pop up the programs folder, but one other problem, how to then access settings folder.
folderStartPgm.exe

for me the filename to start programsfolder is folderview.exe
just need a way to link it to the icon.
Good luck anyway
Try this program.
In search for a solution, you can maybe use "LargeStartmenu.cab". It makes the starmenu (and text in programs) larger. The version in the "Diamond Apps (OEM + CAB)" thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395400
works for my Touch
You can find folderStartPgm.exe here:

Phone Shortcut

Hi, and thanks for your last help. My phone is running smooth and fast with duttys HG v.08! I would like to add a phone icon to my quick links (a link, so I can go directly the dial pad), is this possible? Again, thanks. Cheers.
Does the far-left button not do this in that ROM? I only have the stock so can't check.

No, I was wondering the same thing, with taht excellent rom, 'phone' is replaced by 'all people'.
I don't find it very convenient, as we already have 'all people' in the home screen tabs.
I'd appreciate the original 'phone' to come back as the left soft key.
How about the left hard key? the one that by its very nature is the phone key, and brings up the phone pad?
Alternatively, to make a quick link, if you can't see 'phone' when you create a new quick link and select program then the phone.lnk shortcut isn't in the start menu folder, in which case you can create it yourself, it contains the code
18#:MSCProg?tapres.dll,-22555
or heres mine. Drop it in your windows/start menu folder and now when you click new quicklink-program you should see 'phone' listed. (Had to zip it, can't upload .lnk files directly)
Yes, as there's that nice big hardware key "on every tab" to bring the phone up, most find the softkey redundant, thus setting it to a more useful "All people"
Thank you
Thank you all for taking your time. Samuel, that was exactly what I needed. It worked! Now I have a phone link where I use the most. Thanks mate. Cheers to all.

Samsamuel:
Quick question -- I want to DISABLE the left hard button so that it does not open the phone pad when pressed. Can I do that by removing phone.lnk from the windows folder?
Thanks

sorry not sure how you would do that.
I suspect its not as simple as moving the phone.lnk from windows\start menu
You could maybe try aebuttons and remap the left key to do nothing?

Arrange links in "start menu" in folders?

i'd like to arrange all the links in "start" (windows/start menu/programs) and put them into folders with reasonable names like:
-net
-multimedia
-tools
-tweaks
...and others
Why does that not work with some of the links like "BsB Tweaks", "NoData", WiFi Profiles".
When i move those (and some others) into self-created folders, in "file explorer" they appear in those new folders but when i go to "Start" they are still there and not in my self-created folders.
Why? Is there a way to move them into other folders anyway?
I think that there is a configuration file that tells WinMo where to put icons...
There should be an easy way to configure the icons already on the WinMo!!!

No just do a softreset after rearranging and you will see the changes !
The HTC Links (Peep, Messaging, etc.) cannot be moved but disabled via regkey. Just search the registry for IsShortcutenable and set it to "0"
Greets
thanks, but i've been resetting 1000 times: no effect with some links.
HTC links: I do not want to to disable anything. I want to organise them into reasonable groups.
You must've used the long press -> "Move to Top" on them in the past. Long press them again and select "Move down".
@Laddy:
thanks! yes i did, and it seems to work with your hint
