This is just to get a perception that which ROM is most popular amongst Indian HTC Magic Users.
Please give priority, if there are more then 1 favourite ROMs.

I'm happily using MoDaCo's mod.
I used to play with the Magic in the past and there is a nice website with a list of the available custom ROM for the G1.
Is there any similar web site for the Hero?
Do the Dream ROMs work on the hero? (n00b question, I do know!)
I think at the moment the only custom ROM available is the Modaco ones. Hence a ROM list isn't really needed as there is only one.
And nope Dream (G1) Rom's don't currently work on the Hero.

As I'm a kind of n00b for this "world", do you have any references to some technical documentation (like boot stack etc)?
... and what about those builds named "RogHero", "JACxHERO" and the likes?
They are still ROMs for the HTC Dream/Magic/Saphire.

The phone is still very new, give it time and soon more and more people will be developing for it.

Hello xda forms users i am one of the sad user of htc tattoo i have see lot of forms and websites and surfing in google regrading htc tattoo update from 1.6 to 2.1 lot of forms and websites have posted that tattoo is going to get a update but when even an indian mobile company Micromax has lanched and andriod mobile Micromax Andro A60 with os version 2.1 but why htc is not making a update for htc tattoo what is wrong with it i bought my tattoo in 05/2010 from that day on words i am wainting for a update i have see some custom roms but some features are not working like camera,fm etc can u pls tell me how can i update my os with custom rom with all features PLS HELP ME IN THIES ISSUE i believe that xda forms users will help me
you can not get rom with all features if not all features are working (like you said camera,fm...)
so you'll just have to stick with that one if you need them,and if you don't try playing and upgrading

HTC won't update the phone
You can flash a custom rom with 2.2.1 or 2.3 but no camera or radio (who uses fm radio anyway?)
That is your only option.
The forum IS pretty big.
Maybe camera will work in the soon future. Now in kalimo's ROM one can see previews, very low resolution pictures.
But you can also flash one of the many 1.6 ROMs here. They all have functionning camera and FM radio.

I was surprised to see this, as I have never been able to see Adobe Flash in the Market; my HeroCDMA is not a supported device. And the websites he goes to in that video don't work as advertised via my phone, either.
What's the deal, here? Flash used to be on the Hero, now it's gone??

Yes , The Hero Gsm is the one which have Flash , but when u rooted and flashed rom , then it gones~ , It comes with the original HTC sense 2.1/1.5rom
It only has Flash Lite.
As others have said. The version of HTC Sense on the GSM Hero has "Flash Lite" baked into it. This will give you access to a few website, but most likely not places like kongregate.
Most custom roms nowadays are based on Cyanogen and "vanilla", lacking any of the features of HTC Sense (including Flash Lite).
With the hero you have a choice:
Official version of Android 2.1 with HTC sense if you want flash (lite!)
OR
Custom roms (Froyo and GB) with performance improvements but no flash.

Hello guys.
I am an a collector of mobile phones, and as we know, xiaomi starts not from phones, but from firmwares for another phones. And, HTC HD2 like Nexus One and Desire, be in first places for miui ROM. And, I search any official English MIUI v1 ROM for HTC HD2 for collection. As I know, this builds we can download from MIUIAndroid.com, and names of official first builds are miuiandroid_hd2-1.4.22.zip, or miui_hd2_1.3.4_2.2.zip, but miuiandroid is not available today, and I can't find in Google any of first official builds.
As I know, first MIUI builds for this phone based on Android 2.2 Froyo, and it will be nice, if anyone can help me find this build!!
