this thing is still very fresh and it is not working properly yet at all, I've tried it earlier on and no one can even really be able to work on it properly, why sharing it here and make people feel like it is a working app?

It is my cab and I can confirm it works 100 %. If it does not work for you then you have not a Wince.nls with Chinese support. You have to be able to select Chinese in Regional settings for it to work. If you don't have this then install a Chinese supported Wince.nls. Note Some ROM's especially some cooked ROM's don't let the user change WINCe.nls. They should though.
Then you have to have the proper font pack installed to tell the system you have the fonts and creates needed registry entries.
If you have done all the above it works! If you have not then you need to do more. It is not a install this cab and everything works. There are dependencies on other things like the Wince.nls and fonts that you have to do yourself.

ah thanks for the enlightenment. I hope the wince.nls is the one that's missing as I've build a similiar CAB and it didn't work previously.

hey bobsbbq, when you say it work in your ROM, which ROM are you using, is it Lost-in-Asia? If so, is it based on WWE Europe ROM, or WWE Asia ROM?
I know somebody has tried to replace with the wince.nls from WWE ASia ROM but it hang the ROM. Sure the font dependency is there, but it'll at most cause the character typed out to be square instead of causing the ROM to hang upon boot.
Need to have better understanding of the context of your working ROM.

I will post later the cabs I have on here in this thread. I think there is one cab that will change the Wince.nls and is for Chines font. If not I know the ThaiEnable cab has a worldwide Wince.nls included in it.
When I made the cabs I simply took all the stuff from the EXT packages and imported the registry to make the cabs.
Will try to get to it later tonight if I can.

I have also included the WWE of the EZInput Keyboard. Some users think it would be better to not cook the WWE Keyboard in to prevent any conflict with the CHS one. If you are going to cook a ROM for CHS I would not include the WWE EzInput in the ROM. Users can always install it by cab.
I also included PDAMobizThaiEnable. This cab contains a Worldwide Wince.nls. Also a folder in Program Files. You can drop any Wince.nls in this folder and soft reset and it should change to the new one.
So from what I have been told you need to have Chinese Selected in Regional Settings. Then try to install the Keyboard CHS and RobRedBeards Chines for LIA.cab to enable fonts or use your own font pack.
The other Keyboard i8000 is just another type.
I don't use these Chinese supports I just made them for users that requested them on the HD.
The cab on the first page is my original one. The one above was repacked by a user to fix something. You can try them both.
Hope it works for you. If not ask your cook to make a ROM with a worldwide or Chinese support Wince.nls.

Yes they were used on my Blackstone ROM's. I made them with different Wince.nls files. The Worldwide one is big so if using for a WWE I use a smaller one. Then users can change if they want.

Thanks alot dude.
Will try this out soon

I don't think it relates to the wince.nls... I had it working on other roms without the chinese wince.nls... but the font cab is needed..
and you can't install it on top of the English Ezinput 2.1.. if you have it built-in in the ROM, the CHS Ezinput will not work.. It works on LIA Rom is because Bob took out the english Ezinput from his rom and made a separate cab...

Extract Ezinput from official ROM

Hi, does anyone know how to extract ezinput from an offcial rom?
I am using 1.48 Asia WWE ROM. There is htc ezinput which supports chinese input.
Is there a method for me to extract ezinput so that i can still use asia WWE version of eziuput on custom ROMs.
(Please don't bother other problems related to language, assuming that i can manage to tweak the custom rom to display chinese characters correctly.)
Thank you.

apart from building the CAB from the package, did you add in any additional registry/file to make it work? Or did you cook the ROM based on HK ROM using the package? Because I think there's additional file/registry need to be changed in order for the cab to work on a pure WWE ROM.
So far I have spotted 1 reg and 1 file, but I like to hear from you to confirm.
@cshuwing, my bad, I thought you were referring to CHS as you were asking for Asia WWE. I think CHT is only for HK WWE, not ASia WWE, or at least that's my impression thus my jumping conclusion that you are looking for a CHS ezinput.

kind of missing CHS/JPN support now......
also missing Japanese laguage in my HD2 rom
I am living in Japan with my new HD2 wich I bought in the UK during my Christmas holiday in Europe.
I receive some Japanese emails and sms, but can not display the characters on my HD2, and also not reply in Japanese.
Not sure if the HD2 is available with Japanese language, but I hope for some kind of solution in the near future.
I tryed a cab file which I used on my Touch Pro. It enables me to disply Japanese on my HD2, but the on screen keyboard which comes with is not useable without stylus unfortunately.
Any ideas are welcome.

I just did yesterday. Reboot was successful after installing the first cab. Phone turned into a BRICK after rebooting from 2nd cab installation !
Phone hung at the first screen, which displayed the software version info. After about 60-90 secs, an error message was shown stating that "the phone was not able to boot due to software installation of untrusted. Press Volume Up button to reset or any button to cancel the operation. This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default"
Actually, the above instruction is incorrect. I did not have the HD2 user manual PDF and also am using the HD2 as Internet access gateway for my laptop. Man, was I in dire straits. Called up HTC hotline for help but ended up I had to rush down to a HTC Care Centre this morn.
The HTC Care Centre guy had to re-flash the 1.66 rom back onto my HD2. I did a full restore from my Sprite backup. But now I encountered a problem where my lock screen would not come back on when pressing the Power Up/End button.

Anyone have the "IME CHS EZInput 2.1" file, in cab format or otherwise? I've downloaded a couple of LIA roms, but none of them have it in the Extendir\Setups\EzInput WWE Keyboard directory. Those file sharing services only let you download so much in one day.
This is a link to the Ezinput (actually called "Touch Input") file from the official ROM. It uses simplified Chinese. It has a minor problem, the soft keyboard is squashed when the keyboard is out. However, if the keyboard is out then you don't need the soft keyboard!

[REQUEST] ezInput with Chinese Simplified Support (CAB file)

I am currently living in China and I bought a HTC HD2 with a chinese version of wm6.5 etc..
I love flashing new cooked roms but always seem to runinto the chinese input problem. Some romz come with ezInput with Chinese Simplified Support and others simply don't.
any way we could get a simple cab file to add support to any rom we choose to use? ( I hate CE star and about 10 other IME keyboards packages) the one from HTC really seems finger friendly.
If I am the only one who is looking for this then sorry for the new thread.

I made one but from the reports and my trials it doesn't seem to work on the HD2. It did work on the HD. Not sure why it does not work on the HD2. Also it has also been some experience where if you install the CHS over the WWE there is some times problems with predictive text.
I have made a ROM with CHS built in and also Zenkinz has one. The best solution for now.
thanks .... wow that is sorta heart breaking...
I really like the kwbr rom I have now ... but no CHS input
you really think its not going to be possible anytime soon?
hehe...i made a CAB from Asia 1.66 rom myself.
And happy that it did running in HD but regret HD2 doesnt...
i am not sure why and how to make WWE rom can use the Chinese EZinput.
hope someone can figure it out...
yeah I took a look at the rom lost in asia with CHS support. I was soooo lost can't even extract the nbh file into anything useful .. ( it was like a chimp trying to start a BMW with out keys )
looks like I am going to have to learn how to cook romz just so I can add keyboard support to em .. omg I am so screwed ...

Don't try to extract it just flash the ROM. Read the Flashing Instruction for HSPL.
no no ... not what I meant ... I get it flashing roms.. no sweat now due to all the hard work done here by people in XDA.
my point was that in order to add CHS IME to roms that doesn't support it.
I would have to start cooking and such.

About wince.nls

Lots of cooked rom do not include international version of wince.nls. I try to replace it, but seem as it not working correctly. If it do only working correct with cooking within rom?

Some times it can't be over written. You can also try this cab which is for Thai Language but also contains WW Wince.nls install it and reset and see if your region is in the list, if so great it worked if not it may not be possible on that ROM

Flashing T-Mobile HD2 with Asian Language supported ROM

Hi, new member here. Just bought my T-Mobile HD2 about 4 days ago.
First I want to say a big thank you to all the mods/senior members/and contributors for creating such a wonderful forum and resource centre for the HD2.
I've read most of the stickied threads and noob guides, but before I get started with flashing my T-Mobile HD2, there are some concerns and questions I wish to clarify:
My T-Mobile software specs (completely stock, purchased on the 24th Apr 2010) :
OS version 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila Version 2.5.20121412.1
Rom version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
Rom date 02/22/10
Radio version 2.08.50.08_2
What I wish to do to my T-Mobile HD2 :
1) SIM unlock the phone so I can use any carrier/SIM card from any service provider, anywhere around the globe, since I'm a frequent traveller.
2) Traditional Chinese support, more specifically Taiwanese language support. I have loads of files in Traditional Chinese and having the Asian language support is my top priority.
3) Flash the T-Mobile HD2 to the original HTC Taiwan rom, but retaining the full 576mb ram and 1gb Rom spec. OR Source some cooked rom that contains Traditional Chinese support (Trad Chinese = Taiwanese) that is compatible with the T-Mobile HD2 spec.
So.... from my understanding, based on the stickied threads on this forum, I need to perform the following :
1) Flash HARDSPL
2) Flash the appropriate rom (Which I can't find, I tried everywhere)
3) Flash the appropriate radio (Not sure if its 100% necessary)
4) Hard reset
Am I going on the right track? Please advise, and thanks in advance.
Bump.
A language pack would do the job, I don't really have to flash my phone to a traditional chinese rom.
Any idea where I can source such language pack? I googled everywhere but can't seem to find a T-Mobile compatiable pack.

Its a good job you havent found an official taiwanese rom, if you flash that rom (should you find it) you will kill your phone.
Your phone can ONLY support the tmous offical 2.x rom, or cooked roms based on that 2.x rom.
The taiwanese rom, should you find it, will:-
1 - be version 1.66 (probably) so wont run
2 - will include a radio, almost certainly a ..51.. radio - result? bricked phone.
Your best option is a tmous compatible cooked rom with the correct language.
no, what I meant was to extract the font from the taiwanese rom. I've been doing some googling and digging on various forums, apprantely you can get a language pack installed, but the links are dead : (
http://ricky119.com/chinesesupport/
Search for "MS Arial unicode font". It's what that website fonts are based on. Be warned that it is a whopping 22 Mb since it is a full Unicode set.
Having the font installed allows you to read Chinese. It will not change the entire wm 6.5 menu into that language.
Also, It does not integrate into the current keyboard software. For Chinese input, you still need something like the one I suggested in my earlier post.

This is the reg key for having back WM Settings in Start Menu:

Well, the reg key, works fine, i cooked again the rom but now manila not boot i have to activate from today and stay in tab in screen to boot manila and doesnt matter how much i tap, he never boot, i check the initflashes.dat and everythink is fine
I dont think that this reg key stop Manila booting but anyway you should try to delete it and cook again your rom to see if it boot up.
Did you touch something other apart the reg key?

Well my friend. y downloaded an english kitchen who has many build in 0409 for RhodiumW. i find and new sys 23563/xip.bin multilang and i added to the kitchen. and all the files 0409 i change it to 0c0a . every thing works fine. titanium works fine. but i cant make work manila.
I remember in one oportunity i cook in 0c0a and manila work fine but without the lang file, then i installed the lang pack and everything looks normally in 0c0a lang.
I think im missing to do something to make manila work fine.
Thanks for your help
There are 2 folders that contains insided the language folders:
Manila Core and Manila Home.
Now, i bet that you are cooking for 2018 sense?
My suggestion is to import an Original rom with your language and use that Manila for training.
Look here for some original roms http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/ im sure that you will find a 0c0a sense rom here.
Otherwise if you will find 0c0a Sense language for your current rom you will be good.
As a said you before , we need your log build for a better check.

Ready i uploaded the buildlog.txt 2 image 1 with the lang pack installed and 2 without lang pack all is in the post #1, you was close im using Manila_sense_2_5_20173921_0
All the original rom i have to downloaded for my rhodiumW cdma-gsm is in 0409, no exist in 0c0a, but for rhodium gsm 1 or 2 is in 0c0a but have manila 2.1. i look in saint google fo an manila 2.5 0c0a and only fina the cab lang pack but not the manila oem.
I will look for other device to see if i can have the complete manila 0c0a.
You can use Rhodium GSM packages as well the most important thing is that you want never use the OEM Drivers or you will brick your phone, EXT packages are pretty the same.
If you did find the cab for language ,oh well, this is not a big problem, i attached a program that converts cab to oem/EXT ..install it in C:\ otherwise it will not works.
Its not easy find your language packages( Spanish?) for sense up to 1922 because for us European this is the only version made from HTC , the others(2012/2014/2016/2018) are from TMOUS and OBOE phones ,so only WWE or Chinese.
I have the same problem as you since im Italian infact my phone is still in English now.

I do not understand this
"..install it in C:\ otherwise it will not works."
You mean all the converted files i have to put it in root of the phone or use this program in drive c:\ of my pc. for the converter no problem because i have it with all the kitchen i have donwloaded, and i have converted all the prgrams i usually use, but im waiting to cook my rom good to after add my programs oems
Besides the Manila problem i would change your MXIPKernel with the original 23563 ,mixing SYS and XIP from 2 different builds should cause problems in your rom.

i figure out something. in my kitchen exist this folder, donors, ext, oem, rom, sys
in donors i put the MSXIPKernel or xip.bin 23563
ext i put all the oem programs
oem i put oemdriver, OEM_Lang_0C0A and other folders
rom i put xip.bin and MSXIPKernel, MSXIPKerneltk, OEMXIPKernel 21887
sys i put sys 23563
when i click go he automaticaly change MSXIPKernel 21887 for MSXIPKernel 23563.
so everythink works fine but im stuck with manila.

Since you said that this is from my kitchen, why not post in my kitchen thread? You will likely get answers from the person who is most familiar with the kitchen you are using (Me) quickest that way.
Anyway, by looking at your build log, I see a few issues right off the bat. First of all, you need to take a look at the packages.sof file that you imported into the kitchen with the new sys. OSBuilder builds first based on packages.sof order, and then .dsm order if packages are not found in packages.sof. You are building packages all out of preferred order, which will not achieve desired results. Take a look at the packages.sof from my preconfigured kitchen, or better yet, download my most recent kitchen and just use that.
Also, I see that you are building in both phonecanvas versions. One version is for com2 and com 5 builds, and the other is for com 3 builds, so that will cause you some issues.
In regards to your manila issue, I believe that the kitchen you are working with likely only contains 0409 manila files, because I think that is the one and only build that I used the manila lang sorter on, and stripped all non wwe manila files from the kitchen. I'm talking about lang files in the manila common folders (which contain over 10 different languages by default -- even though these are supposed to be "common" files. The recent version of the kitchen does contain all lang manila files in common, you just need to add your lang pack.

Hello sorry that I have not asked directly to you, do not save the post from which to download the kitchen and honestly I downloaded many kitchen for testing. and good that yours was the most use and I started changing from a few things until the end wanted to put it in my native language is Spanish, q is both the modification that the only thing I did was left of your original rom was the xip of 21 887 rom yet and would change the 21 889 that I previously had the stock rom dump.
Ok and will review these issues you mention about the canvas was originally com2 off but I had to activate q 3 for the full-dialer will see that when I was the only COM5 dialer being cut came out but not approach it because I wanted to do first operational as of manila to accommodate those details later.
I would love to hear a lot that kitchen, cooperation could give me the link to download if not much problem.
Thanks for everything.
