Xperia X2 crashed -Hard reset buttons combination needed - XPERIA X2 General

My X2 suddenly crashed, and it made master reset by itself.
So I lost all the spb shell.
I used the below to retrieve the shell
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=375
when it boots up a white screen appears asking me for a password, which i don't know....
i tried some of my passwords, but there was a timer increasing every wrong trial.
curretnly my device is useless/crashed, and i don't know how to hard reset it or retreive the ROM.
apprecaite any help.

i tried several buttons combination to enter teh bootloader...
(Reset button + Volume down) but it gives a white screen with SE logo in the middle.

try updating the rom by SEUS....cheers...an egyptian already having an X2 ...how did u manage to get that ?!!

Hi darkhalf520...
thanks for your reply.
i tried to search for the SEUS Rom, but apparently i'm lost.
please send me teh post.
but i still can't get to the bootloader colored screen, i can only reach the white screen with SE logo, then i'm stuck.

X2 has froze at bootup screen.. also need hard reset combinations so bump..

SEUS stands for Sony Ericsson Update Service,
So what Darkhalf tried to tell you, is to connect your x2 to the pc, with the update software from SE on it. And install the software.
I hope this has helped you..

I recommend you to contact SE about your problem. I am sure they will help their customers. Ask them about Hard-Reset combination.

it is not in the manual book?

So, anybody was open hard-reset combination?

I live in the Netherlands and have one too...

Just do following with your phone:
Windows key > Settings > System > Clear phone memory
This will hard reset your phone...

My x2 crashed completely. It does not boot at all, and it get's stuck with the Sony Ericsson logo in the middle.
So, if someone knows how to reset completely this phone then please share your info!

anyone have any ideas? i would like to know too..

The X2 has only been released for a few months and not everybody has one like the X1. Be patient...as soon as someone figures it out I'm sure they'll let the members of XDA know! Obviously no one knows as no one has posted how to!

Just a suggestion: volume up and volume down + power on shortly
At least X2 doesn't boot with that combo, may be you need to press "R" on qwerty keyboard to make hard reset

I don't use X2 but here is a screenshot from another forum:
Also from that person: SlideView doesn't launch after some time, GPS doesn't work correctly with all apps, G-Sensor can't work with non-SE games, device freezes a lot. No Storage mode when you connect to PC. SlideView doesn't zoom images correctly (it zooms thumbnail)
Suggestions: add storage mode, repair GPS, let g-sensor work with apps, improve overall perfomance;
add vibration in virtual keyboard and improve it's perfomance, add TrackID

[Q] WiFi Error Woes are back...checked logs, can anyone decipher?

Greetings!
Have had these problems before, and it went away before I upgraded to EB13. I have noticed this mentioned in other threads, but not sure if the root cause is the same as the symptoms vary, and I haven't seen any logs posted to compare. Also, my issue now is that it is happening about every 5 to 10 minutes of actively using Wifi; if I turn it on and then just let it sit without any data use, it will stay on all night!
The issue, which is similar to what others have reported, is that the device will connect to Wifi and then after some time will disconnect. Once this happens you cannot tap the icon in the notification area, but must goto wireless->settings and tap the box there (even though it says error, it will turn back on). I checked the logs and here is what I found:
Code:

I see it says Wifi driver is hung, and I keep noticing the "tethermaster" error. Can anyone explain what may be happening, and if this is something that can be fixed or is indicative of a hardware issue? Thanks!
I've done some searching and found some workarounds, but I too wonder if any progress has been made on this issue? I'd be happy to contribute some log files myself it it would help.
Thanks.
If you upgraded to EB13 via OTA, use Odin to flash back to a clean-slate EB13. The OTA was a piece of crap thanks to non-wiped data.
Nope, I'm using Bonsai 3.0.1 - fresh install.
This has been an ongoing issue since DK28 for me - although apparently doesn't seem to affect everyone. I happen to use WiFi a lot, so I see it daily.

[Q] Cant flash recovery image stuck in boot loop

Greets:
Not sure what I did wrong but Im stuck in bootloop after flashing my Nexus 4 to get back to original to send it back. Currently Im stuck in bootloop and cant get out. So I want to install TWRP and work from it to reformat the phone and start all over again. However no matter what I try, I cannot get the fastboot to write to the phone. It always times out on linux.
-----------------------------------------
[email protected]:~/Downloads/Nexus4Root$ fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (8176 KB)...
FAILED (data transfer failure (Protocol error))
finished. total time: 32.258s
------------------------------------------------------
openrecovery-twrp-2.3.2.3-mako.img has been renamed to recovery.img as per threads followed.
Now fastboot does recognize the device and I can reboot the bootloader with the appropriate command set, just cant get it to take any recovery.img as it always times out.
Clues?
Best and many thanks
Are you using the USB cable that came with the N4? If not try that.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda premium
Yes.....just cant seem to get it to take, in windows or linux. Not sure what the issue is?

Could it be the RSA key issue that is getting in the way here. Even sideload seems to start then stop. Cable works fine as fastboot devices correctly ID's the device.
Many thanks, basically this thing is stuck in bootloop after returning everything to stock and the second issue is that it seems not to take flashing
via fastboot or adb sideload.

Change MAC Adress permanently

Hi everyone,
I would like to change the MAC permanently (change keeps intact after reconnecting and after network turn off turn on).
I was not able to accomplish this aim yet. Until now I tried the following approaches on android 8.1.
Code:
su
busybox iplink show wlan0
busybox ifconfig wlan0 hw ether XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX –> configure the new MAC address
busybox iplink show eth0
Here I was able to change the mac, but the phone was not able to use it for connection to the router. I see in the router log, that there is a failed connection attempt (mac filter was off). After restart of networking the old mac is replaced....
I also tried the tool Pry-Fi by chainfire, but it's from 2014 and it does not work with magisk and android 8.1. I was also not successful with Change My MAC - Spoof Wifi MAC from the appstore. Any other ideas was I can try?
The perfect solution uses a random mac for detecting wifi networks and to connect to them, every time. I think something similar is inplemented in android 9 under development options:https://source.android.com/devices/tech/connect/wifi-mac-randomization (implementing privacy in the base code seams not so familiar, I don't know if it will get into the regular android)
For this reason I think this approach is also interesting: Creating a random mac with tasker: (taken from stackexchange @franc)
Code:
TestMacChanger (130)
A1: Variable Set [ Name:%count To:0 Do Maths:eek:n Append:eek:ff ]
<randomstart>
A2: Variable Randomize [ Name:%random Min:0 Max:15 ]
A3: Variable Convert [ Name:%random Function:Decimal to Hex Store Result In:%rhex ]
A4: Test Variable [ Type:Length Data:%rhex Store Result In:%len ]
A5: Variable Set [ Name:%rhex To:0%rhex Do Maths:eek:ff Append:eek:ff ] If [ %len eq 1 ]
A6: Variable Convert [ Name:%rhex Function:To Upper Case Store Result In: ]
A7: Variable Set [ Name:%mac To:%mac:%rhex Do Maths:eek:ff Append:eek:ff ] If [ %mac Set ]
A8: Variable Set [ Name:%mac To:%rhex Do Maths:eek:ff Append:eek:ff ] If [ %mac !Set ]
A9: Variable Add [ Name:%count Value:1 Wrap Around:0 ]
<randomend>
A10: Goto [ Type:Action Label Number:1 Label:randomstart ] If [ %count < 6 ]
A11: Variable Set [ Name:%mac To:00:11:22:33:44:55 Do Maths:eek:ff Append:eek:ff ] If [ %mac !Set ]
A12: Flash [ Text:%mac Long:eek:n ]
A13: Run Shell [ Command:su
busybox ifconfig wlan0 hw ether %mac Timeout (Seconds):0 Use Root:eek:n Store Output In:%output Store Errors In:%error Store Result In: Continue Task After Error:eek:n ]
A14: Flash [ Text:%error Long:eek:ff ] If [ %error Set ]
But when I execute the task, the mac is not beieng changed, even not non permanently. The mac is generated though, I can see the output of the task.
Do you have any ideas how to change the mac?
Noone anything??
Hi, have you mange to make it work?

MI A1 keeps rebooting randomly

Hi all, I'm having problems with my Mi A1. The phone was in assistance (two times
because they mounted a storage unit of 32 instead of 64) because the mobile network was not working. They changed the mobo and the IMEI. When I got the phone back, the problem was not solved at all, and I experienced random reboots or
some problems related to the network anyway (for example no sim detected sometimes). Then I decided to change the stock ROM with evolution X ROM: I flashed both slots, A and B, and magisk on B.
These days however the phone reboots itself. Sometimes in "normal" mode, other times at startup the sim is not recognized and the tiles have white icons. Also, when this happens, kernel messages are spelled badly, in a strange way.
This is a piece of last kernel messages (when reboot is normal):

Thanks for the future answers.

I am still facing the random reboot issue. Both in stock rom and a custom rom.. any fix available ?

Tying to blankflash XT1962-5, but "programmer has been revoked"

I recently got a new Moto G7 (XT1962-5) and almost instantly bricked it while trying to install LineageOS (forgot the copy_partitions step :-/)
Now I no longer get into fastboot, but I still see the phone as "Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode)" with "lsusb" (I'm on Linux).
Reading the forum I had some hope to revive it via a blankflash, but the error message I get includes
[email protected]:~/Downloads/blankflash$ sudo ./qboot blank-flash
< waiting for device >

So it seems that the blankflash image I'm using (https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/blankflash/blankflash_from_QPUS30.52-16-2-5.zip) is too old.
Does anyone know whether there is a more recent one available? Any other hints are also greatly appreciated!
I have no idea why, but using the blankflash from https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ShVC_VUJXIKkexunWpt1qtCRB29N0BlZ worked (found in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/blankflash-moto-g7-xt1962-5-river-reteu-9-0-ppo29-80-66.4020263/), although it is supposed to be for a different model. Now back to installing!
