Phone bricked - does anybody have an official T-Mobile ROM? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development

Ouch - after trying to SSPL my phone, it doesn't boot anymore. It's a T-Mobile branded Leo which doesnt allow to flash original HTC ROMs.
Now I need to try a T-Mob version. Anybody Can provide one ?
Thanks !

have you tried downloading an official rom from HTC with your phone's serial number?
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=804

Thanks for the tip, but: Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
Anyone who has a T-Mob ROM from somewhere ?
Thanks!

try a gold card solution...i also got a t-mobile hd2 i sued gold card to upto 1.6 rom...its working good...

Hello Matmax,
I had the same Problem, but you can try a Hardreset.
Turn your LEO off ( Battery out and in)
Press Volume up and down together
and turn HD2 on.
I had to try several times.
There is no official T-Mobile ROM to download.
New T-Mobile ROM comes out next week in Germany (They said)

UK T-Mobile rom I saw posted last week.

So, flashing roms using sspl does not work with this type of t mobile branded leo?

For me it seems so :-(
I tried several hard resets, doesn't help. Thnanks also for the UK stock ROM, but that gives me another INVALID VENDER ID

i think u must post ur problem in sticked Bepe thread, may he has the help.

Auch!! I am also searching for a suitable T mobile rom (UK) for my leo, but could't find any, yet...
P.S.:I planned to flash another rom using new sspl, but after reading your post I think I will wait a bit more... (If someone would not give a different feedback...)

I think your best bet is to go for the GoldCard method, although it would be nice if someone could host the T-Mobile rom on a site other than rapidshare.
GC method worked on my UK T-Mobile HD2...

Post in the Bepe thread or PM him for help. Either way it would be useful for all of us to understand from him and you what went wrong and to fix it so other people don't have the same problem.

Yes - but don't have a ROM I can flash (T-Mobile Germany).
Hard reset - works fine
Boot loader - works fine
Boot - stops after the versions of radio etc. is shown (red numbers on black screen)

Hi
Re try Using SSPL and the custom rom it will flash from boot loader.
I had the problem first time using SSPL it crashes and stayed at bootloader. Every time fails You disconnect the cable and reconnect, Then re tried several time running SSPL with IT2 rom and 3rd or fourth attempt it worked. If not UK 1.48 version will work on T mobile uk.
Good luck

T-Mobile UK ROM
Hi try downloading this one from my 4Shared account. I don't think that it's the fastest link but it may help you out of a hole....

I too have a T-Mobile HD2 and was about to flash the new Miri ROM until I saw your post. Now a tad nervous about doing so......

Mat, before you tried to SSPL flash your Leo did you have a stock T-Mob rom or had you already GoldCarded to a new release rom?

Sending HD2 back to Vodafone tomorrow, need help installing stock 1.42 ROM over 1.61

Hi guys as the title says I'm receiving a replacement HD2 tomorrow whilst giving my old one in and I'm afraid I'll get in trouble if I give in one with a 1.61 ROM. I flashed it with 1.61 using the goldcard method and I just tried running the normal installer for the 1.43 stock Vodafone ROM but I get this error:
"this update utility cannot be used for your pda phone..." Surely I don't need to use the goldcard method for the stock ROM do I?
Also can I use the same 1.61 goldcard for my new HD2?
Quick answers appreciated as I need to do this before tomorrow! Thank you very much for your help
Assistance (I hope)
Hi I am a newbee but the RUU_Leo_Vodafone_UK_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50.22_2_Ship is available as a link somewhere on the site.
I have just HSPL my voda leo and as part of the instructions from
DFT, bepe and Cotulla you should do the following to revert...
Uninstallation
Only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from SD card.
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button
Hope this helps...

As far as i know/read into it,
The goldcard you used already will work again, You might need to reformat and hexedit again before it will work as that is what i had to do on 2nd rom update.

Rapidshare is always busy, especially in the evening (CET). Keep hitting the F5 button in your browser, and you'll get lucky. Otherwise, get up early tomorrow and download will not be a problem. Alternatively google for the file name, someone somewhere could have it
Aaand done. That was unbelievably painless. All I did was plug my phone in via USB and double click the ROM file I downloaded off rapidshare, then it worked like a charm didn't have to do a thing!! Thanks for all your help guys, these forums are amazing!

Rom upgrade for HD2 from o2 (UK) - won't let me!!!

Hi guys, anyone know the way to overcome this?
How to upgrade to a higher ROM?
Even HTC's website won't let me downloading the ROM saying that the upgrade aren't for this device!!!
Please!
p.s. sorry I'm new to winmo...
regards!
use a gold card in sd slot or just install HSPL first
wtf is a gold card? i keep seeing people refer to it but never what it is, i imagine its a sim card with a toffee penny wrapper stuck to it lol
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591314
Basicly its a sd card with its unique serial number run though some software but as its no longer free just use hspl if you dont have a goldcard.
Forget about the goldcard, you don't need one so long as you have a copy of the original rom available, which you do. Hunt it out in the official roms forum. First post, first link, 1.43 section, its listed there. Thats your backup, then instal hspl and you can flash what you like.
Your HD2 is locked to o2 (UK) ROMs only so you cant put any of the official HTC ROMs or any of the custom ROMs from the "HD2 ROM Delvelopment" forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=534
because of this your always be running out of date software as the phone operators are always so slow at releasing updates if they do at all.
BUT if you download HSPL from the above forum thread "[HSPL] HowTo flash everything"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
and install it to your phone your then be able to put on any ROM you like. Don't worry its near impossible to muck anything up and you can always put the phone back to its original rom, just do a little reading if your still not sure.
Great Guys! HSPL helped!!! I've upgraded...shame I can't manage to download Rom 1.66 as it always crashes and the download in general is sooo slow (not the internet issue)...but maybe with a bit of patience I'll get it at the end!
Cheers once again!!!

HTC have now listed a new ROM upgrade (1.72.206.3 released 27/04/10) for the HD2 on their UK support website (htc.com/uk)
Let me know how you get on with it as when I enter my o2 serial number I still get the error message you mentioned. I have sent a message to HTC support...just waiting for a reply.

What about Virgin Mobile? Will they get a Rom Upgrqade???? they seems to have been left out of the loop even though they were the first (technically second) carrier of the phone.

HELP - Vodafone UK user, ROM issues? *noob*

I recently bought my HTC HD2 from Vodafone UK, it has a ROM 1.43.405.1 and I cannot update the ROM from HTC website because after insert my SN in the validation box it tells me I cannot get the update....
What should I do?
I saw many ROMs on 4shared but I think they not the same in the HTC site...If they are which one of the should I get for my HTC and why? Will I be able to use my phone with my UK Sim?
Help please...
Windows on your ROM is licensed software, and you bought the license implicitly with your Leo, therefore is it "not possible" to just change ROM.
Having said that , google the forum a bit for SSPL and/or HSPL. there are several (graphical) guides that will tell you how to use them (sticky threads).
good luck!
anyone? someone? help me!

I thought that too but on 4shared they do not describe the features.
Any idea where can I see the features?
To put on other non mobile brand ROM, I must unlock the mobile first, right?
If that is the case, how do I unlock it?
If I put one ROM in the mobile and them upload another one will it delete the features from the one that was on the phone previously?
flashing roms is not connected to thee phone being network locked. it will still be locked after you flash it.
look for a world wide english rom version 1.66 (with 1.66 and wwe I'm the name)

No, doing a hard reset will only ever restore it to the rom you last flashed.
To get back to 'as you bought it' you need to find the rom that matches your device.
(for example in your case, voda UK, you find this rom
RUU_Leo_Vodafone_UK_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26. 50.07U_2.04.50.22_2_Ship.exe
)
If you then need to get back to stock, and remove HSPL, you can do it with that rom. (not quite as simple as just flashing it, , see the HSPL thread for how to remove HSPL)

One more question, each ROM completely cleans the before it, right? The features do not stuck up (add on)?
I would advise AGAINST blindly leeching any ROM from any online file sharer.
check this forum, read a bit, and select a ROM from a chef that has cooked something you like (speed, looks like stock, removed HTC, removed bloatware, etc etc). I've tried many, and almost all on this forum are excellent (some are more excellent than others though)..
Flashing a ROM completely cleans ALL settings on your phone, all data is gone, besides whatever is on your SD card.
same if you select Settings/Wipe Device option from the start menu.

Be aware that whilst flashing wipes all your old data/settings and such like, it doesn't necessarily wipe the old rom before flashing the new one, just flashes over it.
Roms can be different file sizes, (just compare a few RUU_Signed.nbh file sizes) so sometimes files can be left over from the previous rom. If you start getting random resets and freezes when you didnt before, it could be a sign of a bloated rom. Have a read of the mtty sticky. It looks a little overwhelming at first read, but dead simple really, and basically formats your rom before you flash the new rom.
my 2 pence here...
get the official WWE 1.66 ROM and see if that helps the phone, the 1.43 VF ROM is crap and both 1.48 and 1.66 are miles better so first thing is to give these a go. If, after successfully installing it, you wanna try something else then do so...
and read the n00b thread at the top of this forum...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
it tells you what to do, with videos if needed...
Hi, I have the same vf handset and was sick of the crappy ROM, I upgraded yesterday after weeks of research and was surprised how easy it was.
However, having had a day to test out my new 1.66 ROM, I have unfortunately found some problems and part of me think maybe I should have waited a little longer for vf to release it officially.
I'm hoping you guys will be able to help again as it may just need different tweaks to the settings...
1. The first problem is that Opera is slightly different, the settings tab has changed, it no longer allows zooming (including pinch zooming) and the pages are not displayed as full width. I have played with all the setting I can in Opera and BsB Tweaks but no joy.
2. I can no longer access TV catchup through Skyfire. The advertisement plays as normal and then it says "non-UK, unauthorised". Is this because it is a WWE ROM and not a UK one? Why isn't there a specific UK ROM like there was for 1.48?
3. Although the alarm volume bug seems to have been fixed, the alarm popup doesn't come up any more when it goes off, making it very difficult to "snooze" or "dismiss".
4. Several error messages have come up relating to the actual phone app, messaging app and audiomanager. The phone has also crashed and gone slow a bit and overall the messaging app is a little more buggy despite it appearing to send all messages.
Any advice would be much appreciated as this does seem as though it could be a much better ROM with some great benefits.
1.48 was also a WWE ROM - there hasn't been a set UK one other than ISP-based ones

Fair enough. I was just going by what it was implying on the HTC support page. 1.48 specifically says UK whereas 1.66 simply says WWE and makes no mention of UK.
Does anyone have any advice on the issues I'm having?
Also, if I wanted to revert back to the vf 1.43 ROM using the SD card to remove HSPL, how do I know the file I've downloaded from the shared folders is exactly the same as I had before? I read that it is more risky flashing without HSPL as you have less chance of fixing it if something goes wrong, does this also go for the method of reverting back using the SD card as it is removing the HSPL?

A Snap S510 is a Willow but it will say CEDA in the bootloader. You have to App Unlock the phone, then install HardSPL for the SNAP S511 per JockyW's instructions. Once your bootloader says 0.39.Hard (or whatever version #), then you can flash any ROM. That's all the help I got for you. Read up a bit more if you are still stuck. All the answers are there.

But why did you pull battery out? shouldn't it restart by it self?
Haven't you tried your HTC stock ROM? with it's officially you must install via PC (via cable USB) and not SDCard.

I did not understand this exactly, HTC wants 100 euro for telling your which is right ROM for you?
And HTC told you to use this Vodafone ROM?
I just want that you are sure you have the right ROM.
The all you have to do (it's legal) is you give them your phone (S/N) to HTC and they will give you link to your Right ROM.
for example, mine is italian HTC mini Phone, and I even not bought this phone in italy and even I don't know italian language.

No, I just got the HTC Vodafone ROM.
They ask me € 100 to fix the phone.
I upgraded the vodafone ROM via PC (USB) but it did not work ... I keep trying things ... I also tried again but with the ROM 1.36 (by SD) and I get the phone ''Not allow''. And in the PC error 294: Invalid ID vendor error...

Hello, don't worry, my HTC is bought in Spain, and Spanish. I tried some ROMs link (with SSPL) but nothing, not leaving the tricolor screen ...
All remain standing at 0% or 1% pass and quickly removed
So yours is Spanish,
Then try these ROMs, one of them should work.. :fingers-crossed:
