I am posting this thread, because I would like to know if someone can help me.
I followed many threads about extracting a rom and rebuilding a new one.
So, as my HD2 is provided by Orange, all was customized by it 1.43, FRE. (as Tvplayer.exe, OrangeMaps and any other few apps)
The fact is, when extracting all, I can see in the process that I have many directories linked to Orange, but there is no way to put it back when rebuilding the rom, I mean, no way to install back the Orange apps.
Even if I can see some "MultiCabInstall.exe", it seems there are many other things missing.
Maybe some cookers and other members could provide any help or comment?

Thanks but it is not with the Orange apps, in fact
I have looked at that thread before, because I also did the same process.
I mean, when extracting the rom, we can extract the apps, but I don't find any way to put it back on the rom again.
As if something is still missing, to make the apps working after rebuilding the rom.

Hi al. my device is droken i think so i have to send it back to tmobile. Il get a new one but i need the first tmobile rom. There's one the ftp server (tmobile_wwe_ROM_1.01.00.zip) but this one wont work. if copyed the first 220 byte no resuld en then the first 416. my device is flashed but wont go on. So some one got an old copy for me. i am not a newbie so i know that the rom won't work for me. Or am i missing somthing.
I'm trying to get some feedback as to exactly what the Orange cab file in the ROM actually od and ultimately discuss the optimum ROM setup... this could include files from other ROMS of course...

Hi everyone. I'm a brand new owner of a T-mobile htc HD2.
UPS delivered today. But prior to receiving the phone I've been
reading alot of reviews, specially here in this amazing site.
After gathering all the information I could, still decided to go ahead
and get this wonderful looking phone, although I believe a
different ROM is defenitely needed (already seen 2 I like, Elegancia and
Energy - perhaps theres a few more to take into consideration).
Now here are my concerns.
1.-I'll be using the phone in the Dominican Republic. Do I need some type
of jailbreak for the phone to work there? It hasnt been activated here in
the U.S. It's a brand new phone in the box.
2.How do I go about installing the ROM? What would be the absolute first step?
Is there a guide?

So I've been trying to root my HTC (Hero GSM 2.1-update-1 (3.41.61.31), originally Orange Spain, but unlocked by code) for few hours now, haven't managed yet. All the articles I've found about rooting this phone seems to be quite old and none seem to be more recent than the latest OTA update they've sent.
Even the latest version of Androot (1.6.2 beta 5) doesn't seem to work; I keep getting a Failed ! No ~~~ Fu goo ~~~ seemingly clueless error.
Found some more hardcore ways to do it, but then again, all of them quite old and no one confirming if for the current version - I don't want to end up with an expensive paperweight
I want to root it in order to install the latest Froyo ROM (Oh, and if anyone have serious reason for opposing to the villainrom 1.7, I'd appreciate a headsup)
Please, could anyone refer me to the definite how-to-root-this-thing?

Are you from Spain? I am and I spent all night trying to root or upgrade to some kind of distro, but there was no luck...
I had the same firmware and update as you, and... at the end I'll get it! :]
The thing was just go to htc page to download the "latest" drivers for your HTC Hero Orange (important to be orange cuz if not it won't be able to download -also it would ask for a serial number, just write it on-).
What you downloaded now is just to downgrade your cellphone and override all newer updates... Then your phone will be back in time to 1.5 (dino-droids!)
Yeeeey! I did a big party after that ¬¬
Well... then all you have to do is follow the steps for a common htchero unlock... you can apply androot, and put some roms and that...
En mi caso, me ha quedado un Hiro! de la ostia! :] va sobradamente más rápido que antes.

Could you give me a bit more detail how did u downgrade the phone. where and how did u install the drivers?? I did not find the orange drivers in the htc site.

I have the file but you must have ADB installed on your computer, do a search and let me know

Hi, bit of a learner on this rooting milarky but I want to root my Hero which is a UK T-Mobile on 2.1 update1.
Would I need to follow the guide that you posted? Only I have read about a gold card method.

hi everyone.
after i install the last rom and the last kernel of miui, i could connect any more to the internet, in any roms that are aveilables, oxigens miui void, any of them.
in the simbol of 3g, it seems that i can send information put i cant download it, so its like dont have connection. i have install since yestardays more than 20 times differents roms i have use apns aplication also and nothing is working
please i need help
Can you flash a stock ROM and check if you have problems?

Flash the latest stock Rom available (maybe B138 http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...hod=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=41189), then put CWM back and flash any custom Rom again. Make sure that you flash cache, system and dalvik cache.
This is for the unlikely event that your firmware got affected by the custom Rom drivers.
