Group SMS - HD2 General

Does anyone have a regedit, or program they really like to send text messages to groups? The HD2 will only limit 10 recipients per group.

Yes, look in the development & hacking forums for Group SMS.

Thanks for the help. I've already searched within the xda developers forums and only found programs recommended back in 2007. I'm looking for something that will work with the HD2 and specifically WM 6.5

Hmm,
I wasn't aware that Group SMS and its sister, Group MMS, did not work with 6.5. News to me.
You might want to ping a pm to the developer asking the question.

Anyone successfuly install a thrid party group messaging app? Or, better yet, find a way to regedit the limit of contacts allowed for texting to be above 10? I need to send out texts to 40 people in my group. I tried the trial version of SKB Group SMS and that wasn't something I would consider. Is that the only option that will allow someone to text more than 10 contacts at once? This is killing me.

Think I may have found something here

SMS Group Sending App

Hi guys im fairly new to this site but was hoping somebody could help me out. I actually work in the wireless industry and I constantly need to send text messages to multiple people at the same time. Is there an app or plugin that would allow me to make sms groups instead of having to add recepients one by one? thanks in advance , sheemy
i would like to also
i have searched in this issue many times but i did not find any solution, i come over this issue by using jeyo mobile extendor, that enables me to send and receive sms from my pc using outlook, so i view the contacts by group and select all contancts in the group and from outlook i press the buttom of send sms.
but i do not think this will help you cause you are working in a wirless enviroment as you mentioned. i will be happy if we find another solution.

WM6 (n00b?) question: file-format/alert-program associations

Hey
Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for all the help you've provided me with, I've been searching all over this forum and have found more useful stuff than any "official" resource. Forums kick ass.
now onto my, quite possibly n00bish, question...
How would I go about changing the file-format <--> program-associations in WM6(ATT tilt)?
and also, this might be beating a dead horse, but I'm one of the many individuals still whining and crying about that memory error with cody's threaded SMS program, and couldn't find any posts mentioning a way to get the standard (oem) messaging program to open from any MMS alerts, while still having cody's app to handle the sms alerts...
or are sms alerts and mms alerts too similar to have WM6 open two different programs?
thanks again

Quick Reply

Been a fan of WP7 since it was ported to HD2 but one thing keeps me away from it because of a missing feature - the QUICK REPLY option on SMS.
I really need that feature which would allow me to insert quick replies to all of my SMS with choices of SMS templates. I know that there are couple of Apps that would let me create SMS Templates but it wouldn't allow to insert sms templates as a reply rather it would create or compose a new sms with the pre-loaded sms template. I know copy paste would do but I'm looking for an easier way to do it.
Is there a way or an app that does this? I already did some research and tried some apps but i could never find an app or a way to do it.
TIA

Extreme Quick Reply
will allow you to get missing function such as messaging template which have been avaliable in the mobile phone for past years back in Windows Phone 7.
You can add or edit the exisiting template so that you can send quick replies to your friends via SMS or email.

Have you tried it? I tried that app already before and wouldn't do that quick reply in the middle of the conversation window (since most on my conversations list are anonymous persons/phone numbers only and they are not saved on my Contacts). If that app would work like that then I should've missed out how to do that feature.
I wouldn't be able to try that app out once again since I'm on Android right now, if someone would try it out for me I'd be grateful, if none, I guess i have to roll back to WP7 again
Anyone pls?

[Q] iphone group messaging

iphone uses MMS to send single group threaded messages to each other, i have been added to a chat group like this, except for when i receive the messages from the group they arrive on my phone from each separate individual. so i cant really respond to the group.
I have tried handcent and go sms pro, but neither of them seem to work
i could use groupme, but that is an inconvenience to the other users of the group
there must be something in development or a loop hole that anyone knows about, if testing etc is necessary i could def help with that
With the default Android messaging app when you start a new message you can type in multiple contacts separated by commas
From something awesome

thanks for the reply but thats not actually what i am trying to do, that would send a bunch of people the same, but separate messages. I am looking to send the same message to a bunch of people in the same thread, like groupme does, but not with an app and using MMS just like the iphone4 does
anyone got an idea?

Google Messenger Does NOT Group responses in Group Messages Together?

Noticed on my Nexus 6P - after switching over from Hangouts to Google Messenger - that my group texts or MMS's do not get grouped together.
In particular, I initiate the group text/MMS but my participants' replies will get separated from my original initiated thread into it's own threaded response.
This creates basically 2 separate threads.
Now I could jump on to the new response thread & participate there but it will never have my original text mssg. attached to it.
& the original thread will thus go dormant with no replies ever.
I can respond to the responses in my original mssg thread but any replies will never get attached to my original mssg. They will go to their own response thread.
Anyone else have this problem?
AFAIK you don't send group texts via Google Messenger but broadcast texts. So if you send any message to 5 recipients 5 recipients get a text and not that group. If they respond only you get the text and not the other four, too. That's why...
I get group texts to work using it. I have one friend where his response always comes through seperated but everyone else is in the original thread.

Not sure if it will clear it up for you , but you can change the behavior in settings > advanced > group messaging
I rarely use group messaging, but if I recall correctly in the past, those settings allow what you want.

Actually - what you described is 1 of 2 options under the Messenger settings.
The other being getting a group reply where all the participants to my original MMS gets to see everyone's responses.
My problem is that the responses do NOT get attached to the a MMS - if I initiate it.

Yeah, it seems your one friend's reply is my current condition for all group MMS replies on my N6P.

Yep, as I mentioned in my reply above to dannydoowop - I am currently using the "Send a single MMS to all recipients" option.
However, the replies to a mssg that I initiate will inevitably be segregated into their own - new - thread; away from my initial mssg to everyone.

so once you get a reply it creates a seperate thread in your messaging app and ALL replies go into that thread that you can respond in? or does each reply create a new thread that all other replies then go into?

Yep. That is what happens.
I will not see 2 threads listing the recepients:
1) With my lonely initial mssg
2) With everyone's responses & no initial mssg.
I can choose either to add to the conversation but any response from counterparties will fall into #2.
That's weird I don't know why it would be doing that
If it is correct in your settings try deleting the group you made and create a new one. Also, there may be something about Hangouts that is effecting it. Only other thing I can think of to try to fix it is to clear the app's cache.
I have the same problem, did anyone find a solution?
