No SMS notification sounds - HD2 General

Hello!
After I flashed rom 1.48 WWE, HD2 has no new SMS sound anymore. Also it doesn´t vibrate. I´ve tried disable threaded mode but it didn´t help. Any ideas ? And please, don´t tell me to check that I have system sounds on or that I have checked "enable sounds for notifications".... Not playing first time with these.
Thanks
Jansku

TAHNKS AGAIN !

Its because BSB twaeak... there is a bug and i dont know where. I sugest dont install bsb.

I had this but resolved it last night
I had this problem too. No message notification sounds, or when I used volume up and down.
Fixed it by going into settings by pressing the Windows button, and selecting Settings, then Sounds & Notifications.
This brings up the plain WM6.5 menu. I was able to turn on the sounds again by selecting:- Programs. There are also options for hardware buttons and screen taps.
All seems well again now.

Resolved for me too
by going into settings and pressing the Windows button, settings ...
Thanks rockfan35

Bug in official WM6.5?

Anyone noticed that while weather is in automatic update, and you press the "activitymanager" on the far right top to see what programs are running etc, the today screen freezes. The weather effects stop and the clock will jump back an hour or something and then back again once you leave the "activitymanager" and go back to today screen. Same thing when you press and hold the endcall button to turn keylock on, the weather effects+clock will go wild just before it goes into lock mode. Anyone else seen this??

It's like this even if you don't have automatic weather-update. The 'error' with the clock jump 61 minutes back in time is normal in Sense. Try to click the endcall-button in homescreen - the clock flips and the weather-effect resets

I initially found this problem. You need to go into settings - sounds and notifications - advanced: scroll down to text messages and check the box to sound event.
Another bug (?) I found is that when you have your headset connect and get an incomming call the ringtone only sounds in the headset. So if you have your phone in the pocket you miss the call.
Anyone else with the same irritating problem?
I have the same touchflo-freeze-when-taskman-is-open - bug.
But ... for some reason I like windows' default new todayscreen more then touchflo! It seems way more to the point.
problem with clock / battery icon on taskbar
With WM 6.5, when I check "see clock on all programs" in clock and alarms I see clock on taskbar all the time (home screen). With WM 6.1, it was displayed the battery icon in home screen and the clock only in programs... Anybody knows how change it in WM 6.5? What registry I must change?
Thanks
manila start menu
anyone had any luck with mapping the start button to the manila programs tab on the touchflo.
Are the ppl at HTC aware of these issues or are they Microsoft-related? Has anyone reported the bugs to HTC? Any response?
Its just incredible that they release a ROM where there are so many bugs. They have to be aware of these, I cant believe that they dont...
I found a very strange "bug" ... I guess:
I can't touch the volume keys in sence... up or down key will result in a "services.exe" error and the phone gets really slow.
Anyone???

Yes, I use the excellent TopazKbdControl which can be found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4722478&postcount=2.
You need to remap the Windows key (or HOME key as it's called) so that on the Click event it performs the action "Run program". Set the program to run as "\Windows\manila.exe", and the arguments as "--switchtopage programs.page" (both without quotes). Works perfectly, no more horrible Windows Start page!

What happened to my lockscreen?

I was adjusting my e-mail settings when the phone frooze. Had to remove battery to restart.
But after that I got stuck with this lockscreen.
Softreset didden't work. Tryed to switch between windows standard and windows classic lockscreen but nothing.
How do I get "The Slider" back?

Go to the settings tab, Menu, All Settings, Lock and go to the Display tab. Make sure you've got Windows Default selected, not Windows Classic. Click OK and it'll ask you to restard. You should now have the lockscreen you want back.
Hope this helps

I reckon that would do it, yeah, but it seems overkill doesn't it. I'd hang fire for now and see if anyone on here comes up with a better solution. At least the phone is locking! It could be worse.

when i sekect lock from all settings, theres only setting password and hint. nothing else. my lockscreen wont automatic lock wen my screen is off.
I found that after a soft reset my Lock screen would not appear after the phone had gone to sleep (or I'd turned the screen off manually).
I solve it by .......
After a soft re-set or having turned the phone off;
go to Start
press 'Lock' at the bottom left of the screen
The lock screen now appears and then acts normally - until the next soft reset when I simply repeat the above
Nop!
Allready tryed that, still the grey lockscreen...

Lost Screen lock
Here is the one simple solution that works for me:
When I installed some cab. files I have lost the screen lock.
Longpress the end/power button. this will bring out options to power off, Lock device, set vibrate...
Simply press "Lock device".
Now you have a screen lock that keeps working.
Well I've tryed that but It will still use that grey thing...
//Johan
Some people don't really read that well, do they?
argh
i have to always manually set the lock device. it wont automatically do it.
i recently installed pocketshield and that messed it up so i dont think everyone deleted properly?
should i use SKTools or a software to delete unused registries? or is it cab files?
YEEEES!
I figured somehow the default windows lockscreen file must have got corrupted...?
So I installed this cab:

found in this tread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618989
As a last attempt before a hard reset. And thank god it did the trick!
Thank you all for your help, without this forum my HTC would have ended up in the bin the day after I bought it!
//Johan
still didnt work. just still acting the same.
i have the same problem after i have installed puremind's 1cab4all_20shcutsv1.3No.Net3.5.
i tried the above suggestion but didnt work, i have to put the lock device to make it work, but i dont want to enter the password everytime to go to homescreen.
Anyone have the same problem?
1. This happens a few times on my HD2, make sure you have BSB Tweak installed. There is an AutoLock switch on there. Make sure that is set to On (which it will be default).
2. Then on the odd occasion when the device does not lock, hold the power button to get the Quick List and click Lock Device, now it will be ok - till the next time it happens (mine usually after a few days in which case repeat step 2).

If I knew how to track registry changes in real-time, I'd just change the setting and see what change gets made as a result. But, I don't

Sir Phunk have you seen anything on the boards about disabling or turning off vibration during call waiting? I'm running Core Cell V3 ROM and when you are in a call and get another the handset vibrates which 1.) Isn't pleasant to your ear, 2.) Whoever you are talking to can hear it really loud. Figured you might now, thanks ahead of time...
Nevermind, found it on the boards
I have another question related to vibration on the HD2. This has been asked before, in another thread, but has anybody found a solution to the stuck vibration issue? I usually get it from time to time through e-mail notification vibration. It will vibrate in pulses 3 times. On the third time it will hang until I press a hard button. This is very annoying, and I have disabled the notification vibrate for now.

Volume control interface of 219XX used in 235XX

I love 235XX rom interface so much but the volume control interface is not convenient. Everytime when I set it to "vibrate" mode, ringtone is off but the phone also muted at the same time. Finally, I use 219XX loathly.
So, I want to know can I use the Volume control interface of rom 219XX in rom 235XX. Or have any method to "prevent" the phone is muted when using the rom 235XX setting to "vibrate" mode.
Thanks!!

Maybe I miss something but is this not the reason behind the "vibrate mode"? You want a quit phone which informs you only with vibrations and not with sound.

What do you exactly mean with "vibrate mode"?
The "vibration mode" for me is, when the call is coming, my phone will vibrate with no ringtone and I can hear and talk with my friend.
Attached image is not exact but similar volume control interface of 235XX rom. Everytime I want to set my phone to "vibrate"(no ringtone, but can hear and talk with my friend after I receive the call), I click the clickbox "vibrate" on the right side. After that both the ring and phone will drop to bottom. Even I know the call is coming and I receive it, I can't hear anything.

dude try blackstonehenge hyperseries for sense 2.5 or simple blackstonehenge for sense 2.1... they both r based on 6.5.x platform... 28232 series and the chef has made a custom volume control for them... which looks and works pretty much like the 219xx series htc volume control

This looks to me like a bug of some kind...
You can set your phone to ring and vibrate at the same time (which will be done when you select the 'on' box).
It can also only vibrate (the 'vibrate' box) and it can also do neither (which is the 'off' or 'silent' function).
In al three option calling itself is still possible without any problem. So you can hear the person on the other side of the line...
Does this cover your question or did i misunderstand?

Like by every other ROM. When you will set only the phone to vibrate you have to use a tool for this or change the phone ring to vibrate.

Thanks all!
I do use the AEButton to control my mobile phone for changing to "vibrate" mode instead of using the volume control directly.

And from this time on, I've lost the original volume control screen, and I have one like seen in this post. How can I restore the original volume control screen please ?

Hello, I don't know if I post in the right place but it's the first time I see the same volume control that I got problem with.
Hi, I have a problem with my volume control screen. I tried to install a manilla custom thing (i don't remember which). The install failed. And from this time on, I've lost the original volume control screen, and I have one like seen in this post. How can I restore the original volume control screen please ?
Thank you If someone can help.

Hard Reset or provide more info about the ROM you're using and what volume control you used before.
I want to avoid a hard reset.
I never changed the ROM.
These are the original characteristics :
Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro
version syst 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manilla 2.5.19211619.0
ROM 1.66.483.0 (76641) FRE 01/12/10
Radio 2.06.51.07
Protocole 15.30.50.07U
How can I know which volume control is used now ?
How can I roll back to the original one ?
BTW : This problem appeared when I tried to install Max Manilla. I had not enough memory, so the install failed and since then I've got this volume control screen old fashioned.
Thanks
I see the only possibility: Hard Reset!
Hard reset done
Hello, I reinstalled the Bouygues ROM. When I restore my SPB Backup, the problem is here again. Sadly I don't have any intermediate backup between the first one (no applications installed) and the last one.
How can I save the volume files from the first backup and install my last backup ?
