Placed my order as well!

I'm at the finalize order page but they're not giving any 50% off my order. Still says like 27 bucks. What the heck?

Discount showed up right away for me. Just placed an order! Was waiting for this Good timing Zagg!

many thanks to the OP, just ordered.

Heads up - these things are awful. I really would suggest never buying them. Adhesive backing is terrible and almost impossible to not get dust / pet hair / people hair on the sticky part unless you have a clean room. I took every precaution to avoid getting stuff between the screen in it.
Hands were 100% clean, the liquid didn't help at all with this issue, the liquid can get into the speaker if you are not very careful, and if you mess up applying it and want a replacement you get the shaft. They only give free replacements for life if the front is damaged while protecting the phone.
Read reviews online if you don't believe me...the HTC Hero version of the InvisiShield is awful. I have read they are decent and NOT adhesive backed for other phones. So far the best I've found are cheap ass $3 for 3 ones on Amazon that are cling stick.

I bought this full price, right when i got my hero...
took it off about 3 weeks later, i hated how it didn't feel smooth at all, overall seemed resistive to the touch.

Just a thought, bestbuy applies them for 8 bucks and guarantees the application. If it were not for this fact, I wouldn't buy.
applying these things is a bit more comfortable than water torture

They aren't too bad tbh, i switched from invisible shield to phantom skin, then i tore that off and just put a normal screen protector on and i bought a full body skin from skinit, so my phone looks sexeh and its pretty protected
just bought a zagg invis shield for my psp slim and my NDS lite, and i bought their zagg sparq, since its 100$ i got it for 50 its a 6000 mah battery with 2 usb ports that give 1000mah each. all in all i spent like 72$ instead of the 150$
all in all its a good skin, it didnt gather any dust or hair or anything for me, i put it on in my kitchen, but i dont reccomend it on a touch screen, like that other guy said it resists a little.

I could not resist!

WASTE-OF-MONEY
At least for the Hero. These things are a total pita to put on. They don't seem to make the screen any less sensitive but they do make it harder to slide your finger across it.
Application is a mess, if you are ocd about your electronics then tape up the speaker because water is going to get on it. My g/f's went on well and is almost not obvious but mine looks absolutely terrible, and I did hers first! AND they don't even cover the entire screen! I am very disappointed in the zagg invisible shield for the sprint cdma hero.
I'd like to find a thin, rigid, plastic screen protector. I bet there's one out there somewhere.
*update- after writing this post I couldn't take it anymore. My zagg shield is now protecting the applicator card that came with it.

it might be too late for the sale... who knows... but previously purchased just the front screen protector and not the whole body. im pretty happy with it
i had already used a rubbery body thing for the back but when coupled with the zagg protector, i am alot less worried about accidentally putting my hero in the same pocket as my keys when inebriated.
application was a pita. good luck!

I just ordered one for my Eris, hopefully it's not as bad as you guys are mentioning it. Then again the Eris uses a different material, and I only plan to use the whole front(screen + around the buttons).

lol i used it on my vogue i had and on my hero the universal screen protector
and on my ipod full cover and my brother's ipod
i dont have trouble with any of them... so i dont know about you.: S

Yeah, I don't know. They're a big name in the business and I know they didn't get that way selling crap. I think I got a defect. I read more reviews about them and most people seem to like them. I also checked out my g/f's more closely and I have to admit if mine had come out as good as hers I wouldn't have anything to complain about. Mine was crap, totally took away from the touchscreen.
I will be calling zagg tomorrow... hopefully they'll help me out with a replacement, they do have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee so if nothing else I'll send it back and try something else.
Sorry for the rant but you know the saying, "A happy customer tells 1 person, an unhappy customer tells ten".

That's the stuff I used in my bathroom to frost my windows... I got it wet and slid it on.. used a squeegee and flattened it all out and 3 years later is is still sticking there.
The difference is that this is
1.) Clear
2.) Cut into the proper shape (you could do this yourself with some measuring but it saves hassle)
3.) the squeegee is probably smaller.
My bathroom windows are in a VERY humid environment... I have never had ANY peeling.
However I don't keep my bathroom windows in my pocket... so I don't know if the corners will peel up.
My main point is that for $24 of this "film" to cover a TINY phone... you can buy the same thing for $18 that would cover 10 phones... if the product works fantastic... the profit margin for them is HUGE. If it doesn't work... it's the biggest rip off ever.
See if Gila makes a clear one... get $18 worth and tinker away.

Since you've had the Fuze already... Is the shape exactly the same as the TP? It looks like sprints version is a little more round along the corners. I'd Like to go ahead and purchase one of these for the Fuze but don't want to have to send it back.

The only difference I noticed when seeing the 2 up next to each other was the shape of the speaker hole on the back, that might be enough to throw the protection off. Ask Raspster about it more, he had both the European and the Fuze at the same time, so he could tell you better than I could.
I got one, just to try it out.
Exactly as described above. Its a bit fiddly getting on but once on, it sticks very well.
Its great at sticking to flat surfaces, not so good on curves. And they don't even try and cover the corners on the device, which I would think are the places I'd want protected if I was to drop it.
The texture makes the back look very different from normal; its much nicer without the cover on. On the front, you can't really see the cover at all; edges are perfectly aligned with the phones edges.
The back and the front of the phone are covered very well. Sides not so great. Corners not at all. Front looks good. Back looks crap.
My opinion, its no way worth $24
just got mine on Friday exactly as it's described, protects almost every part of the phone with their cut out plastic shield, however as mentioned in earlier post... doesn't really cover the edges, all in all... does really stick and so far looks pretty ok with the exception of little bubbles within the shield (poor application technique)

I have used the Zagg's products (formerly Invisible Shield) on my 6800, 6700, wifes Centro and even custom ordered for my Pioneer 6800DVD in my car. I really like the product, the service is second to none... That said, I think since I have used the product and know how it performs in pockets, and how to install correctly (installed dozens of shields for myself, family and friends), I may try this new product.
Screen protection has always been great and flat surfaces (side) great as well but the corners usually give way, slide and start to bubble after about 4 months of heavy in and out of the pocket use.
This is a $24 experiment begging to happen.... now if Sprint would just release the damn phone!
I would also like to know this. Can it be removed again without leaving marks on the phone?
How scratch proof is it really?
Because of the lack of info on the site (still no video's on how to apply the thing, their forum is just about empty and they don't reply to customer questions...) they really don't seem to thrustworthy ...

I would get the one released by Zagg. They offer a lifetime replacement on all products and they will replace it no questions I know. Their stuff is nearly impossible to scratch and I TRIED just about everything to scratch it. All phones full covers are $25. Never had any bubbling issues with Zagg's products.
yes it can easily be removed without any mark left at all....I found the cover started to collect dusk a lot (it must be slightly sticky) so I removed it.

Trust me, I know oh too well the replacement process and have replaced and installed many over the last 5 years.
The fact that I know the Zagg product so well, makes the experiment more interesting. I know the Zagg stuff so well that I will know if this Clear Coat stands a chance AND since it's only $25... It might turn out to be junk, the company could not stand behind the guarantee BUT we'll see.
*Update
Just got my phone yesterday and I just ordered the Clear Coat. I'll install and do a little initial write up. I'll order the Zagg shield when it becomes available and do a comparison.
It's only money and it IS a $700 device.... (but I only paid $250 for it)
Stay tuned guys.
**Update
Just ordered a Zagg full body shield at 40% off as they just got them and were doing a Halloween special I guess. I should have the Cleat Coat on Mon/Tues and the Zagg will probably be here the week after. I think I'll install the Clear Coat first, use it for a week or so and then install the Zagg and do the same.

Case for the EVO??

I have been looking around for accessories for the EVO, I preordered mine already, but want to have a case and screen protector on it.
I don't want to take a chance with this thing.
I came across this website which has many skins, and rubberized cases, but am hesitant to order, because I did a search on google, and on another android forum website everyone was giving them bad review, like poor communication, 3+weeks for the item to ship.
Plus they don't use paypal.
If anyone knows a reliable place selling cases please post a link or PM me, and here is the link for anyone who may want to order, also if you have ordered let me know how it went.
thanks

Go on the left and click HTC Evo 4g, then choose cases and all the available ones are their.
Yeah I have been looking myself. It scares me to not have this stuff before I pick my phone up..Normally when I open a new phone there is some kind of plastic already on the screen. Its usually not to pretty but I'll have no choice but to leave it on till I get a screen protector.
Since I don't really see myself slapping this baby on the side of my pants I am trying to find some type of gel body glove or something so I can still put it in my pocket and not add too much bulk.
http://www.htc-evo-cases.com/Snap-On-Crystal-Hard-HTC-Evo-Case-1727.html
I have found only that one so far..
Only problem with that snap on case (which doesn't sound TOO bad) is that it wouldn't ship out until June 21st, 17 days after the Evo comes out... That's 17 days worth of heavy phone usage to get through without a scratch!!!
Something I've always trusted is the InvisibleShield from ZAGG. I have had it on my ipod touch since day 1 and it's pretty good stuff...

Apparently I am lost! Does anyone have any info on actual cases? People keep talking about freakin screen protectors! Am I in the wrong topic?
I've clear skinned my last 3 phones (Mogul, Touch Pro, Nexus 1). IMO, it's the best way to protect your phone and still have the "naked" look. Why add bulk and/or hide these beauties with a case? I've dropped each one of them atleast once without ever getting a scratch.
I personally feel a screen protector isnt needed. I got bubbles on the N1 screen protector due to poor installation on my part, so I removed it and haven't looked back since. These screens are very durable and hard to scratch if you use common sense.
The key to a good skin install is follow the instructions and take your time.

Yes, what we are talking about are protective skins. They are clear cases that go on your phone and protect it without adding all the bulk that comes with a big hard case

thank you for clarifying that..i honestly thought everyone was talking about screen protectors..
zagg's product is a screen protector AND has something that fits se seamlessly around the rest of your phone. It is sort of grippy (a little) so it doesn't slip into your pocket extremely easily, but they are nice -not great with a stylus though, b/c, like i said, a bit grippy.
this product was originally designed for military helicopters to cover their blade tips to prevent damage. pretty heavy duty stuff...you barely see it on there, but if you drop your phone, it primarily will keep it scratch free -spotless really. only problem is, it barely protects against impact like other bigger cases might. But its nearly impossible to scratch, nic or chip your phone.
2 things I'm looking for, and hopefully they do it right this time. A sedio front facing belt clip for the evo and an extended battery. what they've ****ed up in the past is making one not compat with the other....
I really want the extended battery experience while at the same time having it being able to snap into my belt like I'm someone god damn important =P
lol that's all I got.

Naked or covered???

I just bought online the invisibleSHIELD™ for my EVO (only the front cover).
Do you think guys it would be necessary to buy a rubber cover for the body?
Edit: i canceled my order and bought the full cover now, so i won't need the condom, lol
Nah. I don't think it really makes much of difference unless you're really worried about dropping it on hard surfaces. A rubber case will add a lot of bulk to a phone that's already pretty monstrous.
I will note, however, that my experience with InvisibleSHIELD's screen protectors have been less than stellar. It kinda gives the screen a grippy feeling. This makes it very hard to use pinch to zoom and stuff like that. Just my opinion...
ENJOY THE EVO!!
Depends on the person (oh by the way I'm sure their is already a thread about this, man your gonna get it) some people are clumsy and drop their $500 phones all the time. Me I take pretty good care of my device so I generally don't need one. With that said I have ordered a condom for this phone I got a silicon jelly whatever. Mainly because I was already ordering the screen protector and it wasn't a lot more to just drop that in the box.

I may get one two, maybe a blue one.
I'm leaving mine totally naked. I may buy a screen protector, but I have yet to decide. Thankfully, HTC is a company that has realized the practicality of MATTE FINISHES. I cannot stand glossy, fingerprint and scratch magnet surfaces.
Hmm i hate having lil hairlines on the back of my device, due to laying it on a desk or so.
Im not scared of dropping it, but it depends on the grip of the device in my hands. if it feels like its going to slip out of my hand while im holding it. Then i might buy a silicone case like the one that came with the HTC HD2. if they have a case like that one.

You know the HD2 Duel flash is on the right. the Evos on the left. and i think the camera on the evo got a ring around it. so i dont think a HD2 case will work. far as camera.

Yeah, a condom. For "just-in-case accidents" ;D
If you're gonna get a case for such a massive touchscreen device, you really can't beat Otterbox. EVERY phone could benefit from an Otterbox case. As for screen protectors, just get a standard WriteRight package. They're wonderful things.
Seido option
I like this one by Seido:
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4213.htm
I've never had one before.
Since the EVO is fairly large, Not sure how much more this would add to the large form factor.
Anyone had this:
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/csr3hev4-bk.htm
TIA...
I am getting the Innocase from Seido. The one without the belt clip attachment. Its only 1mm thick so thats not bad at all..
As far as those body skins. I would like to get one but they look like a major pain in the ass to put on and I wont have the patience for it cause it would have to be perfect.
Now if I could send it off somewhere to have professionally done then I would.
That otterbox looks pretty good. Substantial coverage with minimal "add-on" to the phone. Will consider that...see what they develop for the EVO (need kickstand hole, proper camera/LED/speakerphone holes). I'm just concerned about any additional add-on to the dimensions of the phone. It's huge as-is; doesn't need any more girth!
Also would be concerned about how much it makes it "stick" coming out of a pocket...
i just realized something about that otterbox i posted. the HD2 has physical buttons on the bottom, while the Evo has touch sensitive(if i remember correctly) so we would have to wait for an official Evo case. maybe coming soon?
I'm not too keen on cases, they add bulk to what are already big phones. My TP2 and the original TouchPro are thick with their qwerty keyboards.
I'm pretty careful with my phones, don't really have slippery hands. Only real accident I had with my TP2 is after about a week from purchase, I think I put my phone in the same pocket as my keys and out it came with a 1/4 inch scratch on the screen. I've been staring at it since.
Only accidents I ever really had with phones was with an old BB 7510. The belt clip was hard plastic, and it slipped out numerous times going up and down stairs. Pretty tough device though, the only thing that ever happened was the battery and cover would fly off...even after tumbling down cement staircases!
That's the one downside to new phones.

I have never been down with phone cases and screen protectors.
1. Similar to what the poster I quoted said, why would you want to make the device bigger than what it already is?
2. I think 99% of cases and screen protectors look stupid and nerdy. I usually think the phones I buy have visual appeal, and I don't know why anyone would want to cover it up. The EVO's exterior looks great.
3. I don't need to "baby" my phones. I don't really care if the screen gets scratched or if I drop the phone. I could give a ****. It it breaks or becomes that bad, I'll buy a new one.
The only reason I can agree with is when people want to have a case so they can belt clip the device or whatever. I like to carry phones in my pocket, but that's just me.
Totally agree with point number 2... IMO cases completely downgrade the look of a device; most are plain dorky. You can usually spot an iphone owner a mile away, as they typically have bedazzled/'gucci' (girls) or generic (guys) cases on them.
A lot of effort is put into the exterior design of these phones...why cover it up? Besides, I'd hate someone to confuse my EVO with a boring iphone that any joker can pickup for $97 at walmart, one aisle over from either diapers or anti-freeze.
This is the one i got today, let's see if its works...

Right now my Evo is going bareback....
I'm waiting for my screen protector to come in, and will probably get an otterbox once they release it for the Evo.

I agree with the first two points, so I'm reluctant to get a case/screen protector. Unfortunately, I do care if my phone becomes scratched or if I drop it. I can't really afford to buy a new one!

[WARNING] Official T-Mobile Screen Protectors for Samsung Vibrant have serious flaws.

The official t-mobile "antismear" screen protectors are not only $14.99 USD (+tax), which is way to expensive, but after placing them on the phone they create a "rainbow effect", meaning that it leaves tiny dots of distorted color until the screen protector is taken off. This "rainbow effect" is present on all screen protectors but usually disappear after 2-3 hours of use, in these screen protectors, not so, the "rainbow effect" is constant, even after the microbubbles have been worked out. This is a definite do not buy.
EDIT: you people.sure.are picky
i don't use them, but thanks for the heads up
someone told me a should get a case today too. but that's what the insurance is for IMO

dude, f that. i just gave up with asurion and told them where they can go. they will find any excuse to invalidate a claim. do NOT rely on them to be your safety net.
Just sayin....
I don't think it's any worse than most anti-glare/fingerprint screen protectors. The main bad thing is that it doesn't even cover the full screen. If you want anti-glare/fingerprint I would suggest the SGP Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint. But it will still have the speckling like the T-Mobile one.
If you want clarity and don't care about fingerprints as much then I would definitely recommend the Realook as well.
I am a minority on XDA... I ordered a few matte anti-finerprint SPs from eBay a few days ago. It doesnt do the beautiful screen as much justice as naked, but the fingerprints/smudges/greasy swipe lines make me crazy. I think the TMobile protectors sound like the ones I have but I haven't had any rainbow or bubble issues thankfully.

I've had both, Zagg on my ipod touch and Realook on my vibrant. I prefer realook for the vibrant. Perhaps zagg has improved in the few years I've had my ipod.
I'm using the t-mobile anti smear screen protector. You do lose screen quality with it, but it's so nice having it hear in Miami with all the humidity the screen feels smooth most of the time. It's the only reason I got it to be honest, and I'll probably leave it on until I find a screen protector that is as smooth as this one
Man, I read "serious flaws" and all I could think about was maybe the ones they sell don't protect against scratches. That's a "serious flaw". Gunking up the displaying isn't that serious.
But anyway, I honestly just left the one that comes with the phone on. It's perfect. They are made a little too big though, so what I had to do was take it off, take a few mm off of the top, including the tab, and then take a few mm off of the side. I then ran it under hot water, used some dish detergent to wash the sticky side, rinsed real well, and laid it down, sticky side up, on a lint-free cloth to dry overnight. Once it's on and you have the gel case over it, you cannot tell it was ever cut. It looks beautiful and performs well.
Mine never came with screen protector lol

nexus one or galaxy s? i hear asurion is hit-or-miss with the nexus
i put a zagg invisible shield on my ipod touch when i bought it, but then one day i noticed a minor imperfection and kept messing with it until i got fed up and ripped the thing off completely
since then i've come to realize that i'm a bit too OCD for these things. almost 3 years later and my ipod touch screen is just fine. i'm sure my galaxy s will be fine too, especially after watching all those torture test videos.
a touchscreen was meant to be touched, IMO. don't let it share pockets with keys or anything else and you should be good to go

I can't say that relying on insurance is that bright of an idea. An insurance replacement is going to cost you $150.00, UNLESS they find a way to deny your claim, and can be mitigated, with a $10.00 screen protector.

i wouldn't file an insurance claim for a scratched screen. i just don't see a scratched screen happening anytime soon *knock on wood*
if there was some imperfection or malfunction i would probably try to find a reason to use the extended warranty. or, as the guy at the t-mobile store said, i could "hit the phone into the ocean with a golf club, and get a new one for $120."

I'm sure he followed that with -- "wink, wink". (I just signed up for TMO's insurance, so I have the fine print in front of me -- naturally, "intentional loss or damage" is excluded... but he knew that, of course).
Hmm, I see that "cosmetic damage" ("cracking, marring, or scratching") that "does not affect the manufacturer's intended use" is also excluded. So this wouldn't help for a cracked screen, as long as the phone isn't bricked or acting funky as a result.
I wouldn't rush to file a claim unless I really needed to... hate the thought of holding a refurbed phone to my ear that's been in someone's ass pocket. But if I really lost or destroyed mine, guess a $130 refurb beats a $500 new one...

Moto Claims my Xoom has "Water Damage caused by the user"

About a week ago my Xoom touchscreen just quit responding. I was using it one night put it on the dock to charge and the next morning..touchscreen unresponsive.
So I sent my Xoom wifi over to Moto to get it repaired. I get it back today and a page right on top of the box had a checkbox that said that my unit has water damage and is unrepairable.
Now a little history, I bought the wifi on the day it came out March 27th at Best Buy. I bought the Invisible Shield along with it. I literally opened the box and put the Invisible Shield on the screen before even turning on the device. I put the Xoom in the gel case that I had from the 3g that I had returned.
Being such an expensive item I have babied this Xoom it literally has not been anywhere where water could have gotten into the unit. I'm attaching a few links so you guys can see the pictures that moto sent me and claimed that it was my unit.
The pictures look like they came from a unit that was abused and probably dipped in water. From the outside of my Xoom it has no damage at all. It has been in its case from day one.
What do you guys think I can do?
(I've been a member of this forum for awhile I just never posted until recently as I usually just browse. So i am unable to put a link up of the pictures yet.)

I suppose it is possible that the liquid solution used to apply the skin somehow seeped down into the display along the edges. I really don't know what your options are man but I will say this... none of our units came in a sealed box so how are we to know that the unit we bought and paid for shipped from the manufacturer unused? Thats grounds for some sort of legal person to figure out in my opinion.
Call them and be very friendly, but if someone won't help you, get a manager. If the manager won't help, ask for their supervisor (and so on). Don't be rude, but make sure you don't let them off the phone unless they hang up on you. Keep saying: That isn't my xoom. You must have mixed something up.
Good luck!

Easy option. I've done this with my ipad and many phones if I didn't have time to fix it myself. You tell them only problem I had was the touchscreen but the night b4 it was heating up and that can cause moisture build up and that can change the indicator showing its wet. Now if they say that it looks like something clearly spilled then maybe some1 might've and hid the truth from u. Good luck!

Ohh also the sun can damage it. Was it near the window where the sun light was hitting it? Ive repaired countless things for my customers and sometimes it shows wet indicator when it really was never dropped in or spilled on. Let me know. If anything give me ur serial number n all n ill call for u.

Did you use water applying the screen protector?
I'll never understand why people use screen protectors on any phone/tablet devices these days. They all have glass screens.
Water could have gotten in there during installation and very slowly corroded the components.
Thanks for the tips.. I ended up taking the xoom back to best buy as a last resort ..
After the geek squad guy at the counter tried to give me the typical run around I asked to speak to a manager.. (nicely of course) After going back and forth for a bit they decided to give me a new xoom!!
I definitely didn't expect that but I will tell you best buy earned my loyalty just from that one thing.
As for the previous xoom the only thing I did was put the invisible shield on it withtl that solution they give you.. that's the only way I can imagine it could've gotten water damage..
As for moto I will tell you in the future I will most likely not purchase one of their products as they were of no help and did everything they could to get me off the phone when I called to discuss their water damage claim..

I understand your statements about water and understand your corrosion theory...however, I'm not sure I understand your logic about not using a screen protector. Many people have reported that even Gorilla Glass scratches depending on the circumstances.
I'm not trying to sound condescending, so I hope this is not taken that way. I'm interested in your rationale though...convince me why I don't need a screen protector...I'll gladly like the chance to save $20-$30 I spend on screen protectors.

I have a Droid Incredible that is one year old. No screen protector. It "travels " in my pocket, and gets a lot of use every day. Not one scratch or mark of any kind on the screen.
So, no screen protector on my Xoom either. And there are no scratches on it's screen although it's only 7 weeks old.

Now don't listen to Pandora on your new XOOM while taking a shower. The steam will show water damage very very quickly.

Yeah they don't repair tablets. That's why their "protection" plans cost more than they normally would. They just replace the entire thing. Did you ever register the zagg shield on their site? Since it has a lifetime warranty you should be able to get a replacement for that too. Although, I think you have to send in the old one once you remove it.
Did you remove it before returning your old one?
Bummer about your experience man, glad it worked out for ya.
And for the others talking about not getting a screen protector... i was/am a huge hater of them, never had one on my evo and it lives in my pocket with keys and other junk, it has never scratched, so needless to say i never wanted one on my Xoom either, but the fingerprints and glare were too much so i bit the bullet and even though it took a while to get used to i don't regret it one bit

Im all about the screen protector. Not to stop the scratches so much, but I have the anti grease sheilds on all my stuff. I hate fingerprints!!1 I wish I could get them big enough to put on the back windows of my cars to keeps the kids little finger prints off the glass
BTW...glad to hear you got a new Xoom.
Carphone warehouse over in the uk have a nice little notebook padded cover that i bought for my xoom with a zip on it, although its loose, the protection works a treat and in my bag too, protects it from scratches etc, etc,
never been a huge fan of protective screens, never been able to get them on without there being some sort of problem.
My advice on this one for water damage;
- "Apple "Claimed" in the UK that iphone useres had decided to dip their phones into glasses of water, glasses of water which infact were no existant, they were taken to Watchdog, (UK BBC show) and were forced to change their process for evaluating water damage. Turns out people sweating were setting of the water damage indicators due to them being on the charging port XD"
Maybe pester Motorola.

The thing is, your Dinc has never been dropped. Do you have a case for it btw? Cases create a gap between the screen and the ground so that is to prevent cracked screens. On the other hands, screen protectors serve many purposes, scratches, glare, fingerprint.....so it is a very good thing to have. I believe it is money well spent.
Though, some don't read the instruction and spray the water on the screen (not pointing finger at you op ) and that's when it gets damaged. Just spray the screen protector itself is safe enough. But seriously, I respect your belief, I am still considering screen protectors are good at what they do.

Good that the OP got redress without too much hassle.
As a point of reference for future issues involving items of "substantial" value, always take pics (with date stamps) before sending stuff in to RMA. Even though it wouldn't be incontrovertible proof, it's a sign of due diligence that can be used in small claims court.
Which is the logical next step, assuming other efforts at redress fail, and assuming you feel strongly enough to take action. People usually get scared off when the word "legal" is involved, but with some homework, you can be competent in a small-claims case.
And since we're on the Internet, the first step, of course, is to look up the FAQs for small claims suit in your locality. Your govt is your friend (if you would bother to look). Here is the FAQ for Calif, USA.

No case for my DINC. And I have dropped it several times, hard enough for the back to come off, and the battery to come out (talk about a forced reboot!). I really am not convinced of the value of screen protecrors. But it's an individual decision, of course.
