The only major sim card providers in the states that will work on a wing, would be
T-Mobile
AT&T
Corr Wireless
or any other GSM Providers
The one's that won't work are
Verizon Wireless
Sprint
Boost Mobile
Alltel
or any other CDMA,iDEN Providers

Unlocked but shows roaming service

my HTC P3600 was purchased in the UK and was locked on the Orange network. I got it unlocked before moving to Canada to study. I purchased a sim card from one of the GSM mobile operators (Fido). But when I insert the sim card into my phone it shows me as roaming and the network also charges me roaming service rates even though I am not in a roaming area.
I upgraded the ROM from WM5 to WM6.1 and still the the problem is not fixed.
I also used the sim and CID unlocker (http://pof.eslack.org/trinity-unlocker/) to "reunlock" it but that also didn't work.
Can anyone help me out here. I love my phone and would like to use it instead of getting another one.
So please whatever suggestions you have would be welcomed.
thanks in advance

Unlocked T-Mobile Wing + AT&T Prepaid SIM = Fail?

Hello everyone,
I have a T-Mobile Wing which I want to use with an AT&T prepaid SIM card. I called T-Mobile and received the SIM unlock code, but with the AT&T SIM inserted my Wing is unable to connect to the network (it simply says "Searching..." in the left corner indefinitely).
I understand that this device does in fact work with AT&T service so I am a bit mystified. Perhaps the solution is staring me in the face and I am just too daft to see it. If anyone could shine some light on this for me I would greatly appreciate it.
Is a 3G sim card? Might not work on an Edge phone
lol you have to configure the network for it to work. Try the cab in this post:

How do I know if my HTC is locked (simlocked) or not without another Sim?

Hi,
I've bought a HTC Magic from Rogers. From the internet, it seems that some ppl were saying Rogers did not lock any smartphone, but most said it does.
I've tested with my wife's Fido Pay-As-You-Go SIM card, it seems to work. So either my phone is unlocked or Rogers and that Fido prepaid card are sharing the same lock-code.
Anyhow, without any other tools, how can I tell/test if my phone is simlocked or not?
Thanks,
Gary
The Rogers phones are locked. Fido, PetroCan Mobility and Speak Out are all virtual network operators that run on the Rogers network so their SIM's will work in a locked Rogers phone.
You need a non-Rogers SIM (like from a new Bell or Telus phone) or a US or European SIM. As soon as you pop it in it will tell you your locked and will ask you for the unlock code.
Phone won't run home screen but instead will ask for "unlock code".
And unless you give it you can't use the phone for anything (you can't even check any menu, settings or anything).

HTC HD2 network problem

I've got an HTC HD2 Virgin branded from Ebay, It said that it is unlocked. Tried it on T-mobile, O2 and Vodafone.
Only worked on T-Mobile.
When I put O2 or Vodafone sim card, it can't even connect to the network.
Is my device locked??? Or is it faulty? Please help
sounds like its still network locked to me. virgin piggy back on the tmo network I believe, maybe that's why tmo works?
(just thinking out loud)
but the phone didn't ask for unlock code even when i put different sim card?
